2A general and simple method for evaluating the electrical transport performance of graphene by the van der Pauw–Hall measurement显示文摘Expected for many promising applications in the field of electronics and optoelectronics, a reliable method for the characterization of graphene electrical transport properties is desired to predict its device performance or provide feedback for its synthesis.However, the commonly used methods of extracting carrier mobility from graphene field effect transistor or Hall-bar is time consuming, expensive, and significantly affected by the device fabrication process other than graphene itself.Here we reported a general and simple method to evaluate the electrical transport performance of graphene by the van der Pauw–Hall measurement.By annealing graphene in vacuum to remove the adsorbed dopants and then exposing it in ambient surroundings, carrier mobility as a function of density can be measured with the increase of carrier density due to the dopant re-adsorption from the surroundings.Further, the relationship between the carrier mobility and density can be simply fitted with a power equation to the first level approximation, with which any pair of measured carrier mobility and density can be normalized to an arbitrary carrier density for comparison.We experimentally demonstrated the reliability of the method, which is much simpler than making devices and may promote the standard making for graphene characterization.Fangzhu Qing Yang Shu Linsen Qing Yuting Niu He Guo Shuyi Zhang Chunlin Liu Changqing Shen Wanli Zhang Samuel S.Mao Wenjuan Zhu Xuesong Li 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,22:2

4Aberrant elevation of FTO levels promotes liver steatosis by decreasing the m^(6)A methylation and increasing the stability of SREBF1 and ChREBP mRNAs显示文摘Previous studies have indicated an association of fat mass and obesity-associated(FTO)with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),the most common chronic liver disease worldwide.This study aimed to decipher the complex role of FTO in hepatic lipid metabolism.We found that a decrease in N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)RNA methylation in the liver of mice fed with a high-fat diet(HFD)was accompanied by an increase in FTO expression.Overexpression of FTO in the liver promoted triglyceride accumulation by upregulating the expression of lipogenic genes.Mechanistical studies revealed that FTO could stabilize the mRNAs of sterol regulatory element binding transcription factor 1(SREBF1)and carbohydrate responsive element binding protein(ChREBP),two master lipogenic transcription factors,by demethylating m^(6)A sites.Knockdown ofeither SREBF1 or ChREBP attenuated the lipogenic effect of FTO,suggesting that they are bona fide effectors for FTO in regulating lipogenesis.Insulin could stimulate FTO transcription through a mechanism involving the action of intranuclear insulin receptor beta,while knockdown of FTO abrogated the lipogenic effect of insulin.Inhibition ofFTo by entacapone decreased the expression of SREBF1,ChREBP,and downstream lipogenic genes,ameliorating liver steatosis in HFD-fed mice.Thus,our study established a critical role of FTO in both the insulin-regulated hepatic lipogenesis and the pathogenesis of NAFLD and provided a potential strategyfor treating NAFLD.Zhili Tang Chao Sun Ying Yan Zhoumin Niu Yuying Li Xi Xu Jing Zhang Yuting Wu Yan Li Li Wang Cheng Hu Zhuoyang Li Jingjing Jiang Hao Ying 2022Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2022,14,9:1
5Alkaline activation of endogenous latent TGFβ1 by an injectable hydrogel directs cell homing for in situ complex tissue regeneration显示文摘Utilization of the body’s regenerative potential for tissue repair is known as in situ tissue regeneration.However,the use of exogenous growth factors requires delicate control of the dose and delivery strategies and may be accompanied by safety,efficacy and cost concerns.In this study,we developed,for the first time,a biomaterial-based strategy to activate endogenous transforming growth factor beta 1(TGFβ1)under alkaline conditions for effective in situ tissue regeneration.We demonstrated that alkaline-activated TGFβ1 from blood serum,bone marrow fluids and soaking solutions of meniscus and tooth dentin was capable of increasing cell recruitment and early differentiation,implying its broad practicability.Furthermore,we engineered an injectable hydrogel(MS-Gel)consisting of gelatin microspheres for loading strong alkaline substances and a modified gelatin matrix for hydrogel click crosslinking.In vitro models showed that alkaline MS-Gel controllably and sustainably activated endogenous TGFβ1 from tooth dentin for robust bone marrow stem cell migration.More importantly,infusion of in vivo porcine prepared root canals with alkaline MS-Gel promoted significant pulp-dentin regeneration with neurovascular stroma and mineralized tissue by endogenous proliferative cells.Therefore,this work offers a new bench-to-beside translation strategy using biomaterial-activated endogenous biomolecules to achieve in situ tissue regeneration without the need for cell or protein delivery.Sainan Wang Yuting Niu Peipei Jia Zheting Liao Weimin Guo Rodrigo Cotrim Chaves Khanh-Hoa Tran-Ba Ling He Hanying Bai Sam Sia Laura J.Kaufman Xiaoyan Wang Yongsheng Zhou Yanmei Dong Jeremy J.Mao 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,9:1
6Differential bone metabolism and protein expression in mice fed a high-fat diet versus Daurian ground squirrels following natural pre-hibernation fattening显示文摘This study compared the effects on bone metabolism and morphology of pathological obesity induced by excessive fat intake in a non-hibernator(mice)versus healthy obesity due to pre-hibernation fattening in a hibernator(ground squirrels).Kunming mice were fed a high-fat diet to provide a model of pathological obesity(OB group).Daurian ground squirrels fattened naturally in their pre-hibernation season(PRE group)were used as a healthy obesity model.Micro-computed tomography(micro-CT)and three-point bending tests were used to determine the microstructure and mechanical properties of bone.Western blots were used to analyze protein expression levels related to bone metabolism(Runt-related transcription factor 2(RunX2),osteocalcin(OCN),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),osteoprotegerin(OPG),receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand(RANKL),cathepsin K,matrix metallopeptidase 9(MMP9),patched protein homolog 1(Ptch1),phosphorylatedβ-catenin(P-β-catenin),and glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)).Compared with controls,there was no obvious bone loss in the OB mice,and the stiffness of the femur was increased significantly.Compared with summer active squirrels,bone formation was enhanced but the mechanical properties did not change in the PRE group squirrels.In OB mice,western blots showed significantly increased expression levels of all proteins except RunX2,OPG,and Ptch1.PRE ground squirrels showed significantly increased expression of most proteins except OCN and Ptch1,which decreased significantly,and P-β-catenin and OPG,which did not change.In conclusion,for non-hibernating mice,moderate obesity had a certain protective effect on bones,demonstrating two-way regulation,increasing both bone loss and bone formation.For pre-hibernating ground squirrels,the healthy obesity acquired before hibernation had a positive effect on the microstructure of bones,and also enhanced the expression levels of proteins related to bone formation,bone resorption,and Wnt signaling.Xuli GAO Shenyang SHEN Qiaohua NIU Weilan MIAO Yuting HAN Ziwei HAO Ning AN Yingyu YANG Yu ZHANG Han ZHANG Kenneth BSTOREY Hui CHANG 2022Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,12:0

8Nano-capillary induced assemble of quantum dots on perovskite grain boundaries for efficient and stable perovskite solar cells显示文摘In recent years, perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have propelled into the limelight owing to rapid development of efficiency;however, the abundant defects at the perovskite grain boundaries result in unwanted energy loss and structural degradation. Here, the grain boundaries of perovskite polycrystalline films have been found to act as nanocapillaries for capturing perovskite quantum dots(PQDs), which enable the conformal assemble of PQDs at the top interspace between perovskite grains. The existence of PQDs passivated the surface defects, optimized the interfacial band alignments, and ultimately improved the power conversion efficiency from 19.27% to 22.47% in inverted PSCs. 9UOUU:User-Object Distance and User-User Distance Combined Method for Collaboration Task显示文摘Augmented reality superimposes digital information onto objects in the physical world and enables multi-user collaboration.Despite that previous proxemic interaction research has explored many applications of user-object distance and user-user distance in an augmented reality context,respectively,and combining both types of distance can improve the efficiency of users’perception and interaction with task objects and collaborators by providing userswith insight into spatial relations of user-task object and user-user,less is concerned about howthe two types of distances can be simultaneously adopted to assist collaboration tasks acrossmulti-users.To fulfill the gap,we present UOUU,the user-object distance and user-user distance combined method for dynamically assigning tasks across users.We conducted empirical studies to investigate how the method affected user collaboration tasks in terms of collaboration occurrence and overall task efficiency.The results show that the method significantly improves the speed and accuracy of the collaboration tasks as well as the frequencies of collaboration occurrences.The study also confirms the method’s effects on stimulating collaboration activities,as the UOUU method has effectively reduced the participants’perceived workload and the overall moving distances during the tasks.Implications for generalising the use of the method are discussed.Xiangdong Li Pengfei Wang Hanfei Xia Yuting Niu 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,9:0
10Comparative Study on Heat Flux and Temperature Distribution Performance of Linear Fresnel Collector Based on Uniformity Index显示文摘Linear Fresnel collector system as main solar energy collecting technology is widely studied.The secondary reflector has significant influence on the heat flux distribution on the linear Fresnel collector.In this work,the heat flux and temperature distribution on linear Fresnel collector is compared with different secondary reflectors of simple trapezoidal concentrator,segmented parabolic concentrator and compound parabolic concentrator under varied incident ray angle.The uniformity index is applied to evaluate the Linear Fresnel reflector system heat flux distribution performance.The results show that the value of uniformity index increases with the increasing of incident ray angle.The compound parabolic concentrator has the highest value of uniformity index compared with simple trapezoidal concentrator and segmented parabolic concentrator in this work.The highest value of uniformity index is 0.8137 with compound parabolic concentrator.This work provides effective and practical guide to design and evaluate the secondary reflector in linear Fresnel reflector system.WU Yuting QIAN Li ZHANG Cancan HAN Songtao SUN Hexin NIU Junnan CHENG Yingkun SANG Shengjie 2022Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,3:0
