1Cytocompatibility of High Nitrogen Nickel-Free Stainless Steel for Orthopedic Implants显示文摘Cytocompatibility of high nitrogen nickel-free stainless steel(HNS) with different nitrogen content was evaluated and compared with a conventional austenitic stainless steel 317L.The MTT assay(3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) was performed on MG63 osteoblasts to assess the cytotoxicity.The expression of selected marker typical of differentiated osteoblasts,such as alkaline phosphatase activity(AKP),was also monitored in MG63 cells cultured on the tested materials.As a result,HNS had higher cell growth than 317L;meanwhile the cytocompatibility was increased with increasing nitrogen content.Furthermore,HNS enhanced osteoblasts differentiation,as confirmed by AKP activity.Overall these facts indicated that HNS had higher cytocompatibility than 317L and the nitrogen content contributed to the higher cytocompatibility of HNS.The influence of nitrogen on surface energy further explained the cytocompatibility of HNS.Tianchi Ma Peng Wan Yuyan Cui Guirong Zhang Jiqiang Li Jihui Liu Yibin Ren Ke Yangg Li Lu 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,7:2
2Substitute materials of furfuryl alcohol in furan resin used for foundry and their technical properties显示文摘Based on a special synthesis process of furan resin,the furfuryl alcohol(FA),the main component of typical no-bake furan resins is substituted by ethanol and xylitol mother liquor which is relatively low price and chemically active.Through orthogonal test,the optimal amount of xylitol liquor,ethanol and modifier has been determined.Finally,the test results on technical properties show that the performance can meet the production requirement well,which indicate a success in this substituting attempt.Ren Yuyan Li Yingmin 2009China Foundry2009,6,4:1
3Stabilities,mechanical and thermodynamic properties of Al-RE intermetallics:A first-principles study显示文摘Stabilities,mechanical and thermodynamic properties of 87 intermetallics in Al-RE binary system were studied by first-principles based on density functional theory(DFT).The results show that the calculated stabilities at T=0 K are in good agreement with experimental values.Al2 RE intermetallics exhibit the best stability in Al-RE binary compounds;and the stabilities in descending order are Al2 RE,Al3 RE,AlRE,Al11RE_(3),AlRE2 and AlRE_(3).The calculated Al-RE intermetallics possess mechanical stabilities.The hardness and strength of the most Al-RE intermetallics are greater than pure aluminum except AlCe,AlPr,AlEu and AlYb.The hardness and strength in descending order are Al11RE_(3),Al3 RE,Al2 RE and AIRE.Part of AlRE intermetallics exhibit ductility;the others are brittle.The heat capacities of Al-RE intermetallics in ascending order are Al-Sc,Al-Y,Al-lanthanides.On the contrary,the coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)in ascending order is Al-lanthanides,Al-Y and Al-Sc.Tongyu Liu Tianyu Ma Yingmin Li Yuyan Ren Weihua Liu 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,2:1

6Residual Stress and Deformation Analysis of Static Bonding Multi-layer Pyrex7740 Glass and Aluminum显示文摘Residual stresses and deformation of static bonding multi-layer Pyrex7740 glass and aluminum have important effects on performances of bonding parts. The stress and strain finite element analysis of anodic bonding can optimize the structure and process design, reduce the workload of the experiments, shorten the production cycle, improve the bonding quality, and reduce the process costs. In this paper, residual stresses and deformation in the static bonding two-layer(glass/aluminum), three-layer(glass/aluminum/glass),five-layer(glass/aluminum/glass/aluminum/glass)and seven-layer(glass/aluminum/glass/aluminum/glass/aluminum/glass) samples have been analyzed using nonlinear finite element simulation software MARC. The simulation results show that the shear stress distribution and deformation distribution in different multi-layer glass and aluminum samples are similar. The stress distribution along thickness at different typical positions in all multi-layer samples has characteristics of pulse pattern, which has pulse peak at the position of transition layers and then decreases abruptly to the minimum value at the positions of glass and aluminum. The maximum shear stress is located in the outside surface area in the transition layer between the top unconstrained glass layer and aluminum layer. The displacement distribution along thickness in all multi-layer samples increases gradually from the constrained bottom glass layer to the top unconstrained glass layer with abrupt step increase in the aluminum layers. The maximum deformations occur in aluminum layers. 7Radiosensitization by microRNA30a-5p in a nude mouse model with subcutaneous lung-cancer xenograft显示文摘Objective We aimed to observe the radiosensitization effect of mir-30a-5p in a nude mouse model with subcutaneous lung-cancer xenograft and to explore the underlying mechanism.Methods A549 cell lines with either stable upregulation or downregulation of mir-30a-5p,and their negative control,were transfected with lentivirus vectors.These cell lines were used to establish a nude mouse model with subcutaneous lung-cancer xenograft.Each group was randomly divided into irradiated and non-irradiated groups.The radiosensitization effect of mir-30a-5p in vivo was studied by observing xenograft growth trends and tumor weight.The mechanisms involved in this radiosensitization were investigated by detecting expressed radiosensitization-related proteins,using immunohistochemistry and Western blotting.Results The expression level of mir-30a-5p in the lenti-mir-30a-5p group was higher than that in the negative control(lenti-GFP)group and lower in the lenti-inhibitor group(P<0.05).Subcutaneous lung-cancer xenografts in the irradiation group and lenti-mir-30a-5p increased in size slowly;tumors were lighter and tumor inhibition rates were higher than those in the non-irradiation and lenti-GFP groups.In contrast,the opposite of these effects was observed in the lenti-inhibitor group.Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting indicated that ATM protein expression level was lower in the lenti-mir-30a-5p group,with or without irradiation,compared to that in the lenti-GFP group.ATM protein levels were higher in the lenti-inhibitor groups.The phosphorylation level of ATM at residue 1981 was low in the groups without irradiation and increased significantly after irradiation(P<0.05).Moreover,the phosphorylation level was lower in the lenti-mir-30a-5p group and higher in the lenti-inhibitor group than that in the lenti-GFP group after irradiation(P<0.05).Conclusion Mir-30a-5p enhanced the radiosensitivity of nude mice with subcutaneous lung-cancer xenografts by inhibiting ATM phosphorylation.Yuyan Guo Yingtao Cui Xing Bao Yue Ke Hongtao Ren Jiyuan Pan Liping Song Hongbing Ma 2022Oncology and Translational Medicine2022,8,4:0
8Arginase 2 negatively regulates sorafenib-induced cell death by mediating ferroptosis in melanoma显示文摘Ferroptosis,a newly defined and iron-dependent cell death,morphologically and biochemically differs from other cell deaths.Melanoma is a serious type of skin cancer,and the poor efficacy of current therapies causes a major increase in mortality.Sorafenib,a multiple kinase inhibitor,has been evaluated in clinical phase trials of melanoma patients,which shows modest efficacy.Emerging evidence has demonstrated that arginase 2(Arg2),type 2 of arginase,is elevated in various types of cancers including melanoma.To investigate the role and underlying mechanism of Arg2 in sorafenib-induced ferroptosis in melanoma,reverse transcriptase-quantitative polymerase chain reaction,western blot analysis,adenovirus and lentivirus transduction,and in vivo tumor homograft model experiments were conducted.In this study,we show that sorafenib treatment leads to melanoma cell death and a decrease in Arg2 at both the mRNA and protein levels.Knockdown of Arg2 increases lipid peroxidation,which contributes to ferroptosis,and decreases the phosphorylation of Akt.In contrast,overexpression of Arg2 rescues sorafenib-induced ferroptosis,which is prevented by an Akt inhibitor.In addition,genetic and pharmacological suppression of Arg2 is able to ameliorate the anticancer activity of sorafenib in melanoma cells in vitro and in tumor homograft models.We also show that Arg2 suppresses ferroptosis by activating the Akt/GPX4 signaling pathway,negatively regulating sorafenib-induced cell death in melanoma cells.Our study not only uncovers a novel mechanism of ferroptosis in melanoma but also provides a new strategy for the clinical applications of sorafenib in melanoma treatment.Yi Yu Yuanyuan Ren Caihua Wang Zhuozhuo Li Fanglin Niu Zi Li Qiang Ye Jiangxia Wang Yuan Yan Ping Liu Lu Qian Yuyan Xiong 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,11:0
9Smart Bionic Surfaces with Switchable Wettability and Applications显示文摘In order to satisfy the needs of different applications and more complex intelligent devices,smart control of surface wettability will be necessary and desirable,which gradually become a hot spot and focus in the field of interface wetting.Herein,we review interfacial wetting states related to switchable wettability on superwettable materials,including several classical wetting models and liquid adhesive behaviors based on the surface of natural creatures with special wettability.This review mainly focuses on the recent developments of the smart surfaces with switchable wettability and the corresponding regulatory mechanisms under external stimuli,which is mainly governed by the transformation of surface chemical composition and geometrical structures.Among that,various external stimuli such as physical stimulation(temperature,light,electric,magnetic,mechanical stress),chemical stimulation(pH,ion,solvent)and dual or multi-triggered stimulation have been sought out to realize the regulation of surface wettability.Moreover,we also summarize the applications of smart surfaces in different fields,such as oil/water separation,programmable transportation,anti-biofouling,detection and delivery,smart soft robotic etc.Furthermore,current limitations and future perspective in the development of smart wetting surfaces are also given.This review aims to offer deep insights into the recent developments and responsive mechanisms in smart biomimetic surfaces with switchable wettability under external various stimuli,so as to provide a guidance for the design of smart surfaces and expand the scope of both fundamental research and practical applications.Shuyi Li Yuyan Fan Yan Liu Shichao Niu Zhiwu Han Luquan Ren 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,3:0
