1Immunity-and-matrix-regulatory cells derived from human embryonic stem cells safely and effectively treat mouse lung injury and fibrosis显示文摘Lung injury and fibrosis represent the most significant outcomes of severe and acute lung disorders,including COVID-19.However,there are still no effective drugs to treat lung injury and fibrosis.In this study,we report the generation of clinical-grade human embryonic stem cells(hESCs)-derived immunity-and matrix-regulatory cells(IMRCs)produced under good manufacturing practice requirements,that can treat lung injury and fibrosis in vivo.We generate IMRCs by sequentially differentiating hESCs with serum-free reagents.IMRCs possess a unique gene expression profile distinct from that of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(UCMSCs),such as higher expression levels of proliferative,immunomodulatory and anti-fibrotic genes.Moreover,intravenous delivery of IMRCs inhibits both pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in mouse models of lung injury,and significantly improves the survival rate of the recipient mice in a dose-dependent manner,likely through paracrine regulatory mechanisms.IMRCs are superior to both primary UCMSCs and the FDA-approved drug pirfenidone,with an excellent efficacy and safety profile in mice and monkeys.In light of public health crises involving pneumonia,acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome,our findings suggest that IMRCs are ready for clinical trials on lung disorders.Jun Wu Dingyun Song Zhongwen Li Baojie Guo Yani Xiao Wenjing Liu Lingmin Liang Chunjing Feng Tingting Gao Yanxia Chen Ying Li Zai Wang Jianyan Wen Shengnan Yang Peipei Liu Lei Wang Yukai Wang Liang Peng Glyn Nigel Stacey Zheng Hu Guihai Feng Wei Li Yan Huo Ronghua Jin Ng Shyh-Chang Qi Zhou Liu Wang Baoyang Hu Huaping Dai Jie Hao 2020Cell Research2020,30,9:7
2Design of a Lightweight Force-Feedback Glove with a Large Workspace显示文摘A wearable force-feedback glove is a promising way to enhance the immersive sensation when a user interacts with virtual objects in virtual reality scenarios.Design challenges for such a glove include allowing a large fingertip workspace,providing a desired force sensation when simulating both free-and constrained-space interactions,and ensuring a lightweight structure.In this paper,we present a forcefeedback glove using a pneumatically actuated mechanism mounted on the dorsal side of the user’s hand.By means of a triple kinematic paired link with a curved sliding slot,a hybrid cam-linkage mechanism is proposed to transmit the resistance from the pneumatic piston rod to the fingertip.In order to obtain a large normal component of the feedback force on the user’s fingertip,the profile of the sliding slot was synthesized through an analysis of the force equilibrium on the triple kinematic paired link.A prototype five-fingered glove with a mass of 245 g was developed,and a wearable force-measurement system was constructed to permit the quantitative evaluation of the interaction performance in both free and constrained space.The experimental results confirm that the glove can achieve an average resistance of less than 0.1 N in free-space simulation and a maximum fingertip force of 4 N in constrained-space simulation.The experiment further confirms that this glove permits the finger to move freely to simulate typical grasping gestures.Yukai Zheng Dangxiao Wang Ziqi Wang Yu Zhang Yuru Zhang Weiliang Xu 2018Engineering2018,4,6:2

4A Comparative Overview of Indirect Field Oriented Control (IFOC) and Deadbeat-Direct Torque and Flux Control (DB-DTFC) for AC Motor Drives显示文摘Indirect field oriented control(IFOC)has become a widely adopted solution for AC motor drives.Standard IFOC controls torque and rotor flux linkage via q-and d-axis current.Alternatively,deadbeat-direct torque and flux control(DB-DTFC)has emerged as a promising motor control strategy for the future,which manipulates Volt-sec.vector directly.Air-gap torque and stator flux linkage are decoupled and independently controlled over each switching period.Stator flux linkage is used as a separated degree-of-freedom to manipulate losses dynamically without compromising torque dynamics and torque ripple.In voltage-limited operations,direct selection of Volt-sec.allows DB-DTFC to fully utilize the dc bus voltage and produce fast torque.A single control law is used over a wide speed range.This paper aims to provide a comparative overview of the two motor controls regarding their sensitivity to parameters,current-and voltage-limited operation,loss manipulation,and torque ripple during signal injection.Based on the comparison,the ultimate objective is to demonstrate the opportunities and remaining challenges in DB-DTFC.Yukai Wang Yuying Shi Yang Xu Robert D.Lorenz 2015Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2015,1,1:2
5Cryptococcus neoformans,a global threat to human health显示文摘Background Emerging fungal pathogens pose important threats to global public health. The World Health Organization has responded to the rising threat of traditionally neglected fungal infections by developing a Fungal Priority Pathogens List (FPPL). Taking the highest-ranked fungal pathogen in the FPPL,Cryptococcus neoformans, as a paradigm, we review progress made over the past two decades on its global burden, its clinical manifestation and management of cryptococcal infection, and its antifungal resistance. The purpose of this review is to drive research efforts to improve future diagnoses, therapies, and interventions associated with fungal infections.Methods We first reviewed trends in the global burden of HIV-associated cryptococcal infection, mainly based on a series of systematic studies. We next conducted scoping reviews in accordance with the guidelines described in the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses extension for Scoping Reviews using PubMed and ScienceDirect with the keywordCryptococcus neoformans to identify case reports of cryptococcal infections published since 2000. We then reviewed recent updates on the diagnosis and antifungal treatment of cryptococcal infections. Finally, we summarized knowledge regarding the resistance and tolerance ofC. neoformans to approved antifungal drugs.Results There has been a general reduction in the estimated global burden of HIV-associated cryptococcal meningitis since 2009, probably due to improvements in highly active antiretroviral therapies. However, cryptococcal meningitis still accounts for 19% of AIDS-related deaths annually. The incidences of CM in Europe and North America and the Latin America region have increased by approximately two-fold since 2009, while other regions showed either reduced or stable numbers of cases. Unfortunately, diagnostic and treatment options for cryptococcal infections are limited, and emerging antifungal resistance exacerbates the public health burden.Conclusions The rising threat ofC. neoformans is compounded by accumulating evidence for its ability to infect immunocompetent individuals and the emergence of antifungal-resistant variants. Emphasis should be placed on further understanding the mechanisms of pathogenicity and of antifungal resistance and tolerance. 11Numerical simulation of zonal disintegration of surrounding rock in the deep-buried chamber显示文摘Zonal disintegration is the phenomenon of cyclical rupture zone and nonrupture zone in the surrounding rock of a deep-buried chamber,which is different from that of a shallow chamber.Based on the finite difference software FLAC3D,the numerical simulation of surrounding rock with different mechanical parameters was conducted by using the SU model(Bilinear Strain-Softening Ubiquitous-Joint).The influences of buried depth,cohesion,and internal friction angle of surrounding rock on zonal disintegration were analyzed to reveal the influence law.The results show that:(1)after the chamber excavation,multiple rupture zones gradually extend from the chamber surface or adjacent periphery to the deep surrounding rock.In the extension process,a single rupture zone may be forked into two or even multiple rupture zones,which cross each other and form the zonal disintegration zone.(2)Zonal disintegration is affected by bothσ(in situ stress)and U_(cs)(uniaxial compression strength).Smaller U_(cs)and largerσwill lead to zonal disintegration.(3)The zoning fracture is not obvious in the case ofσ≤U_(cs).In the reverse case,zoning fracture appears remarkably in the surrounding rock around the chamber.These results reveal the influence law of zonal disintegration and provide theoretical support for the design of deep-buried chambers.Yukai Wang Xiaoli Liu Yanlin Xiong 2022Deep Underground Science and Engineering2022,1,2:0
12Synthesis of Mo_(2)C MXene with high electrochemical performance by alkali hydrothermal etching显示文摘Two-dimensional MXenes are generally prepared by the etching of acid solutions.The as-synthesized MXenes are terminated by acid group anions(F^(–),Cl^(–),etc.),which affect the electrochemical performance of MXenes.Here,we report a novel method to prepare Mo_(2)C MXene from Mo_(2)Ga_(2)C by the hydrothermal etching of alkali solutions.Highly pure Mo_(2)C MXene was successfully synthesized by the etching of NaOH,while the etchings of LiOH and KOH were failed.The concentration of NaOH,temperature,and time strongly affect the purity of as-prepared MXene.Pure Mo_(2)C MXene could be synthesized by the etching of 20 M NaOH at 180 for 24 h.After℃intercalation by hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide at 90 for 96 h,few℃-layer Mo_(2)C MXene was obtained.The Mo_(2)C MXene made by NaOH etching after intercalation exhibited excellent performance as anode of lithium-ion battery,compared with general Mo_(2)C MXene made by HF etching and the Mo_(2)C MXene reported in literature.The final discharge specific capacity was 266.73 mAh·g^(−1)at 0.8 A·g^(−1),which is 52%higher than that Mo_(2)C made by HF etching(175.77 mAh·g^(−1)).This is because Mo_(2)C MXene made by NaOH etching has lager specific surface area,lower resistance,and pure O/OH termination without acid anion termination.This is the first report to make Mo_(2)C MXene by alkali etching and the samples made by this method exhibited significantly better electrochemical performance than the samples made by general HF etching.Yitong Guo Xin Zhang Sen Jin Qixun Xia Yukai Chang Libo Wang Aiguo Zhou 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,10:0
13Deformation monitoring of long-span railway bridges based on SBAS-InSAR technology显示文摘The deformation monitoring of long-span railway bridges is significant to ensure the safety of human life and property.The interferometric synthetic aperture radar(In SAR)technology has the advantage of high accuracy in bridge deformation monitoring.This study monitored the deformation of the Ganjiang Super Bridge based on the small baseline subsets(SBAS)In SAR technology and Sentinel-1A data.We analyzed the deformation results combined with bridge structure,temperature,and riverbed sediment scouring.The results are as follows:(1)The Ganjiang Super Bridge area is stable overall,with deformation rates ranging from-15.6 mm/yr to 10.7 mm/yr(2)The settlement of the Ganjiang Super Bridge deck gradually increases from the bridge tower toward the main span,which conforms to the typical deformation pattern of a cable-stayed bridge.(3)The sediment scouring from the riverbed cause the serious settlement on the bridge’s east side compared with that on the west side.(4)The bridge deformation negatively correlates with temperature,with a faster settlement at a higher temperature and a slow rebound trend at a lower temperature.The study findings can provide scientific data support for the health monitoring of long-span railway bridges.Lv Zhou Xinyi Li Yuanjin Pan Jun Ma Cheng Wang Anping Shi Yukai Chen 2024Geodesy and Geodynamics2024,15,2:0

18Self-templating synthesis of biomass-based porous carbon nanotubes for energy storage and catalytic degradation applications显示文摘Dwindling energy sources and a worsening environment are huge global problems,and biomass wastes are an under-exploited source of material for both energy and material generation.Herein,self-template decoction dregs of Ganoderma lucidum-derived porous carbon nanotubes(ST-DDLGCs)were synthesized via a facile and scalable strategy in response to these challenges.ST-DDLGCs exhibited a large surface area(1731.51 m^(2)g^(-1))and high pore volume(0.76 cm^(3)g^(-1)),due to the interlacing tubular structures of precursors and extra-hierarchical porous structures on tube walls.In the ST-DDLGC/PMS system,the degradation efficiency of capecitabine(CAP)reached~97.3%within 120 min.Moreover,ST-DDLGCs displayed high catalytic activity over a wide pH range of 3–9,and strong anti-interference to these typical and ubiquitous anions in wastewater and natural water bodies(i.e.,H_(2)PO_(4)^(-),NO_(3)^(-),Cl^(-) and HCO_(3)^(-)),in which a ^(1)O_(2)-dominated oxidation was identified and non-radical mechanisms were deduced.Additionally,ST-DDLGC-based coin-type symmetrical supercapacitors exhibited outstanding electrochemical performance,with specific capacitances of up to 328.1 F g^(-1)at 0.5 A g^(-1),and cycling stability of up to 98.6%after 10,000 cycles at a current density of 2 A g^(-1).The superior properties of ST-DDLGCs could be attributed to the unique porous tubular structure,which facilitated mass transfer and presented numerous active sites.The results highlight ST-DDLGCs as a potential candidate for constructing inexpensive and advanced environmentally functional materials and energy storage devices.Manman Xu Shiqi Fu Yukai Wen Wei Li Qiongfang Zhuo Haida Zhu Zhikeng Zheng Yuwen Chen Anqi Wang Kai Yan 2024Green Energy & Environment2024,9,3:0

20Frequency-tunable microwave quantum light source based on superconducting quantum circuits显示文摘A non-classical light source is essential for implementing a wide range of quantum information processing protocols,including quantum computing,networking,communication and metrology.In the microwave regime,propagating photonic qubits,which transfer quantum information between multiple superconducting quantum chips,serve as building blocks for large-scale quantum computers.In this context,spectral control of propagating single photons is crucial for interfacing different quantum nodes with varied frequencies and bandwidths.Here a deterministic microwave quantum light source was demonstrated based on superconducting quantum circuits that can generate propagating single photons,time-bin encoded photonic qubits and qudits.In particular,the frequency of the emitted photons can be tuned in situ as large as 200 MHz.Even though the internal quantum efficiency of the light source is sensitive to the working fre-quency,it is shown that the fidelity of the propagating photonic qubit can be well preserved with the time-bin encoding scheme.This work thus demonstrates a versatile approach to realizing a practical quantum light source for future distributed quantum computing.Yan Li Zhiling Wang Zenghui Bao Yukai Wu Jiahui Wang Jize Yang Haonan Xiong Yipu Song Hongyi Zhang Luming Duan 2023Chip2023,2,3:0
