2Effects of cadmium stress on seed germination and seedling growth of Elymus dahuricus infected with the Neotyphodium endophyte显示文摘Various cadmium(Cd)concentrations(0,50,100,200 and 300μmol L-1)affected Elymus dahuricus seed germination,seedling growth,antioxidative enzymes activities(AEA),and amounts of malondialdehyde(MDA)and proline present.These influences were determined for separate E.dahuricus cohorts known to be either infected(E+)or non-infected(E?)by a Neo-typhodium endophyte.Under high Cd concentrations(100,200 and 300μmol L-1),E+specimens showed a significantly (P<0.05)higher germination rate and index,as well as higher values for shoot length,root length and dry biomass.However, the germination rate and index,root length and dry weight did not show a significant(P<0.05)difference under the low Cd concentrations(0 and 50μmol L-1 ).AEA and proline content increased,as did MDA content,in the E+(vs.E-)specimens under high Cd concentrations.There was no significant(P>0.05)difference under low Cd concentrations.Endophyte infection was concluded to be of benefit to E.dahuricus exposed to high Cd concentrations.ZHANG XingXu LI ChunJie NAN ZhiBiao 2012Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,9:25
3Effects of cutting frequency and height on alkaloid production in endophyte-infected drunken horse grass (Achnatherum inebrians)显示文摘An evaluation was performed on the influence of mowing height (2.5,5.0 or 7.5 cm) and mowing frequency (weekly or fortnightly) on levels of ergot alkaloids (ergine and ergonovine) formed in drunken horse grass,Achnatherum inebrians,grown under greenhouse conditions.Samples were taken monthly and alkaloids were extracted and analyzed by reverse-phase HPLC.Alkaloid levels increased more or less linearly with plant age over the first four months following establishment.Levels were higher in samples cut fortnightly compared to those cut weekly,and were higher when plants were cut at a mowing height of 7.5 cm vs.2.5 cm.In most cases,the highest alkaloid levels observed were almost three times those of the lowest.If plant protection applications are developed for the endophytic fungus,Neotyphodium gansuense,it will be necessary to be aware of the potential role of plant husbandry practices (e.g.,defoliation frequency and intensity) for reducing or enhancing levels of plant alkaloids.Similar husbandry factors may affect alkaloid levels in other Neotyphodium-grass associations,which would be interesting for further study.ZHANG XingXu LI ChunJie NAN ZhiBiao 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,6:13
4Carbon pools and fluxes in the China Seas and adjacent oceans显示文摘The China Seas include the South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Bohai Sea. Located off the Northwestern Pacific margin, covering 4700000 km^2 from tropical to northern temperate zones, and including a variety of continental margins/basins and depths, the China Seas provide typical cases for carbon budget studies. The South China Sea being a deep basin and part of the Western Pacific Warm Pool is characterized by oceanic features; the East China Sea with a wide continental shelf, enormous terrestrial discharges and open margins to the West Pacific, is featured by strong cross-shelf materials transport; the Yellow Sea is featured by the confluence of cold and warm waters; and the Bohai Sea is a shallow semiclosed gulf with strong impacts of human activities. Three large rivers, the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Pearl River, flow into the East China Sea, the Bohai Sea, and the South China Sea, respectively. The Kuroshio Current at the outer margin of the Chinese continental shelf is one of the two major western boundary currents of the world oceans and its strength and position directly affect the regional climate of China. These characteristics make the China Seas a typical case of marginal seas to study carbon storage and fluxes. This paper systematically analyzes the literature data on the carbon pools and fluxes of the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea, including different interfaces(land-sea, sea-air, sediment-water, and marginal sea-open ocean) and different ecosystems(mangroves, wetland, seagrass beds, macroalgae mariculture, coral reefs, euphotic zones, and water column). Among the four seas, the Bohai Sea and South China Sea are acting as CO_2 sources, releasing about0.22 and 13.86–33.60 Tg C yr^(-1) into the atmosphere, respectively, whereas the Yellow Sea and East China Sea are acting as carbon sinks, absorbing about 1.15 and 6.92–23.30 Tg C yr^(-1) of atmospheric CO_2, respectively. Overall, if only the CO_2 exchange at the sea-air interface is considered, the Chinese marginal seas appear to be a source of atmospheric CO_2, with a net release of 6.01–9.33 Tg C yr^(-1), mainly from the inputs of rivers and adjacent oceans. The riverine dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) input into the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 5.04, 14.60, and 40.14 Tg C yr^(-1),respectively. The DIC input from adjacent oceans is as high as 144.81 Tg C yr^(-1), significantly exceeding the carbon released from the seas to the atmosphere. In terms of output, the depositional fluxes of organic carbon in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 2.00, 3.60, 7.40, and 5.92 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The fluxes of organic carbon from the East China Sea and South China Sea to the adjacent oceans are 15.25–36.70 and 43.93 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The annual carbon storage of mangroves, wetlands, and seagrass in Chinese coastal waters is 0.36–1.75 Tg C yr^(-1), with a dissolved organic carbon(DOC) output from seagrass beds of up to 0.59 Tg C yr^(-1). Removable organic carbon flux by Chinese macroalgae mariculture account for 0.68 Tg C yr^(-1) and the associated POC depositional and DOC releasing fluxes are 0.14 and 0.82 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. Thus, in total, the annual output of organic carbon, which is mainly DOC, in the China Seas is 81.72–104.56 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the East China Sea to the adjacent oceans is 15.00–35.00 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the South China Sea is 31.39 Tg C yr^(-1). 5A new sorbent that simultaneously sequesters multiple classes ofpollutants from water: Surfactant modified zeolite显示文摘A zeolite (ZFA) was synthesized from coal fly ash and then modified using hexadecyltrimethylammonium. The surfactant modified ZFA (SMZFA) was evaluated for its versatility to sequester multiple classes of pollutants from water. The target pollutants include ionic inorganic pollutants (ammonium and phosphate), ionic organic pollutants (methylene blue and humic acid), ionizable organic pollutants (bisphenol A,-chlorophenol and phenol, with different pKa), and electrically neutral or-ganic pollutants (aniline, nitrobenzene, and naphthalene, with different hydrophobicity). The SMZFA showed high potential for the retention of ammonium and phosphate, being comparable with ZFA. While the negative charge in the internal pores of zeolite was responsible for the retention of ammonium, the oxides of CaO, Al2O3and Fe2O3in the non-zeolite fraction, which originated from coal fly ash but received modification during zeolite synthesis, accounted for the removal of phosphate. Results also showed that while ZFA had little affinity for humic acid, the ionizable, and the electrically neutral organic compounds, SMZFA exhibited greatly enhanced adsorption capacity. Thus, the surfactant modified external surface, which formed a bilayer micelle of zeolite, imparts a hydrophobic characteristic that enables the uptake of the organic pollutants. 7Effect of pickling processes on the microstructure and properties of electroless Ni–P coating on Mg–7.5Li–2Zn–1Y alloy显示文摘The electroless plating Ni–P is prepared on the surface of Mg–7.5Li–2Zn–1Y alloys with different pickling processes.The microstructure and properties of Ni–P coating are investigated.The results show that the Ni–P coatings deposited using the different pickling processes have a different high phosphorus content amorphous Ni–P solid solution structure,and the Ni–P coatings exhibit higher hardness.There is higher phosphorus content of Ni–P amorphous coating using 125 g/L Cr O3and 110 ml/L HNO3(w68%)than using 180 g/L Cr O3and 1 g/L KF during pre-treatment,and the coating structure is more compact,and the Ni–P coatings exhibit more excellent adhesion with substrate(Fcup to22 N).The corrosion potential of Ni–P coating is improved and exhibits good corrosion resistance.As a result,Mg-7.5Li-2Zn-1Y alloy is remarkably protected by the Ni–P coating.Chunjie Xu Liping Chen Ling Yu Jinxiao Zhang Zhongming Zhang Jincheng Wang 2014Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2014,24,6:5

9An Updated Database and Spatial Distribution of Landslides Triggered by the Milin, Tibet M_(w)6.4 Earthquake of 18 November 2017显示文摘The M_(w)6.4 earthquake on November 18, 2017 in Milin County, Nyingchi City, Tibet triggered thousands of landslides. By comparing visual interpretation of satellite images acquired shortly before and after the earthquake and field survey, we have created a new landslide database which includes 3 130 coseismic landslides, each with an area of 0.01 to 4.35 km^(2). Six factors(elevation, slope angle, slope aspect, lithology, distance from the epicenter and distance from the seismogenic fault) were selected to correlate with the coseismic landslides. In addition, the area and density of landslides were counted as indicators. Results show that most landslides occurred where the elevation is between 2 000–3 000 m, with a 40°–50° slope angle and S, E or SE slope aspect, schist or gneiss lithologies, 10–15 km from the epicenter, and 5 km within the seismogenic fault. Most of the landslides, triggered by the M_(w)6.4 earthquake, are concentrated near the seismogenic fault rather than at the epicenter, indicating that the seismogenic structure is more influential than the location of the epicenter. 10Efficacy of Zhonglun'a-decoction-containing serum on fibroblastlike synoviocyte apoptosis in rats with collagen-induced arthritis via inhibiting Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription signaling pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy of Zhonglun'a-decoction-containing serum(ZHONGL-CS)on the in vitro apoptosis of fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLS) from rats with collagen-induced arthritis(CIA) by investigating the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription(JAK/STAT) signaling pathway.METHODS: A CIA rat model was established using bovine type Ⅱ collagen. FLS were isolated, cultured and identified. A cell counting kit-8 was used to detect cell activity. The half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50) was calculated. Experimental subjects were divided into control, CIA,ZHONGL-CS, JAK2 inhibitor AG490, and ZHONGLCS with AG490 groups. The in vitro cell cycle and apoptosis rate were detected in FLS by flow cytometry. Bcl-2-associated X protein(Bax), B-cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2), caspase-3, cyclin D1, phosphorylated JAK2, STAT1, and STAT3 protein expressions in FLS were examined by Western blotting. JAK2, STAT1 and STAT3 mRNA levels were examined by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS: Compared with the CIA group, FLS proliferation was inhibited, the FLS G0/G1 cell cycle was arrested, and the rate of FLS apoptosis was increased in the ZHONGL-CS group. In the ZHONGLCS group, the protein levels of Bcl-2 and cyclin D1 were reduced compared with the CIA group and the levels of Bax and caspase-3 in FLS were increased. In the ZHONGL-CS group, the expressions of JAK2, STAT1, and STAT3 mRNA and the levels of phosphorylated JAK2, STAT1, and STAT3 proteins were reduced.CONCLUSION: ZHONGL-CS may induce FLS apoptosis in CIA rats. 11Toxicity and mechanisms of action of titanium dioxide nanoparticles in living organisms显示文摘Titanium dioxide nanoparticles(TiO_2 NPs) are one of the most widely used nanomaterials in the consumer products, agriculture, and energy sectors. Their large demand and widespread applications will inevitably cause damage to organisms and ecosystems. A better understanding of TiO_2 NP toxicity in living organisms may promote risk assessment and safe use practices of these nanomaterials. This review summarizes the toxic effects of TiO_2 NPs on multiple taxa of microorganisms, algae, plants, invertebrates, and vertebrates. 16Microstructures and Phase Transition Points of As-Cast Mg-Zn-Y System Alloys显示文摘As-cast microstructures and their distribution of Mg-Zn-Y ternary alloy with high magnesium, low zinc and yttrium were examined using Nikon Epiphot optical microscopy(OM), RigakuD/max-3C X-ray diffraction(XRD), and JEOL JSM-6700F scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). In the as-cast microstructures, Yttrium and zinc tend to segregate at grain boundaries, therefore meets the compositional condition to form Mg-Zn-Y compounds at grain boundaries even with relatively low content of Y. The principal ternary phase in Mg-Zn-Y alloys can be consisted of W-phase (Mg3Y2Zn3), Z-phase (Mg3YZn6) and X-phase (Mg 12YZn). Combining differential thermal analyzer (DTA) the phase transformation temperature of alloys were discussed. 18Evolutionary characteristics of exons expressed at different abundance levels in mammals显示文摘With comparative genomics approaches, we evaluated the evolutionary characteristics of conservation of exons which are expressed abundantly, moderately or lowly in mammals. Using non-coding regions and pseudogenes as controls, sequence identity, phastCons and Ka/Ks analyses were carried out and our results showed that as the exons of high abundance are highly conserved, the minor and low exons also showed conservative characteristics in evolution. 19PRI modulation recognition and sequence search under small sample prerequisite显示文摘Pulse repetition interval(PRI)modulation recognition and pulse sequence search are significant for effective electronic support measures.In modern electromagnetic environments,different types of inter-pulse slide radars are highly confusing.There are few available training samples in practical situations,which leads to a low recognition accuracy and poor search effect of the pulse sequence.In this paper,an approach based on bi-directional long short-term memory(BiLSTM)networks and the temporal correlation algorithm for PRI modulation recognition and sequence search under the small sample prerequisite is proposed.The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can recognize unilinear,bilinear,sawtooth,and sinusoidal PRI modulation types with 91.43% accuracy and complete the pulse sequence search with 30% missing pulses and 50% spurious pulses under the small sample prerequisite.ZHANG Chunjie LIU Yuchen SI Weijian 2023Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2023,34,3:1
