| 1 | A new way to generate seismic waves for continental crustal exploration显示文摘An airgun experiment was conducted in a reservoir,with the total volume of the airgun array being 6000 cubic inch. The energy released by one excitation was estimated to be 6.68×106 J,which corresponded to a 3.4 kg TNT explosion. A 180 km long profile composed of 100 portable short period seismometers was deployed as a receiver system of the airgun signals. Two remarkable results can be drawn from the experiment: (1) the airgun explosion is harmless to the dam and the fish,and this kind of airguns can be regarded as a green and environmental protection seismic source on land; (2) seismic wave gener-ated by this airgun source can be recorded by permanent stations with offset larger than 200 km. And the wave amplitudes recorded by nearby and remote stations are equivalent to the wave generated by 800 kg dynamite explosion. | 3 | Heavy metal distribution of natural and reclaimed tidal riparian wetlands in south estuary, China显示文摘We evaluated the distribution and accumulation of Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn in two plant species (Scirpus tripueter Linn. and Cyperus malaccensis Lam.), in water and soils sampled from the reclaimed tidal riparian wetlands (RTRWs) and the natural riparian wetlands (NRWs) in the Pearl River Estuary (PRE). The results showed that the concentrations of studied heavy metals in soils exceeded theeco-toxic threshold recommended by US EPA. The concentrations of Cd, Cr and Zn in plants may lead to toxic effects. The heavy metalconcentrations were high in water and low in soils of RTRWs compared with that in the NRWs. The accumulation of heavy metalsin the roots of plants was higher in NRWs than those in RTRWs while the opposite result was found for heavy metal accumulation inshoots. Based on the bioaccumulation and translocation factors, the plants in NRWs had a higher capacity to accumulate heavy metalswhile higher abilities to transport heavy metals from roots to shoots were observed in RTRWs. | 5 | Regional Scale Seismological Investigation on the Continent Crust Using Airgun Sources——A Perspective Review显示文摘The investigations on the structure and temporal variations of the continent crust have been the long-lasting topics of seismology. The artificial sources play the most important role in these studies for their well-known locations and occur times among all the sources producing elastic waves,so that precise results are obtained. In past decades,we have successfully excited the airgun sources in on-land water bodies such as reservoirs,expanding their applications in marine seismology. Large volume airguns have been used to produce low frequency signals which can travel hundreds of kilometers after stacking,providing a source connecting the exploration seismology and traditional seismology at regional scale. In this review,we introduce the changes through which we turn the airgun into scientific instruments by experiments. We also present the advances on imaging the continental crust structure and monitoring the velocity variations using the highly repeatable signals emitted by airgun sources. | 6 | Multiple seismological evidences of basin effects revealed by Array of Binchuan(ABC), northwest Yunnan, China显示文摘Dense array seismology, which is characterized by large number, densely deployed autonomous geophone/seismographs, has received great concerns worldwide recently, especially after the great success of dense array in Long Beach. One of the biggest curiosity is that if the great success in Long Beach is replicable in China. Hence, we analyze the seismic records from a dense array in Binchuan basin, Yunnan province, which consists of three-component short-period seismographs of three most common domestic models. The Binchuan basin is located near the intersection between the Chenghai-Binchuan fault and the Red River fault,with the latter being the major fault accommodating significant tectonic deformation resulting from eastern extrusion of the Tibetan plateau. Both faults pose serious seismic threats to local residents in Binchuan basin. Basinrange differences, faults, local earthquakes, and a Fixed Airgun Seismic Transmitting Station(FASTS), make the Binchuan basin a perfect experiment site for dense array experiment. The array is named Array of Binchuan(ABC)and the main target is imaging the shallow crustal structure,especially the structure of the basin. To examine the monitoring capability of ABC, we analyze the seismograms to check if they can reveal the basin, the most significant geological feature in the area. Power spectral density analysis,travel time and amplitude analysis of FASTS signals, and amplitude analysis of earthquakes and noise cross-correlation functions are used in the analysis. All the results show correlation with the basin and clear difference between basin and non-basin area. | 8 | Stearic Acid/Copper Foam as Composite Phase Change Materials for Thermal Energy Storage显示文摘The application of stearic acid in the latent thermal energy storage(LTES) systems is hindered due to its lower heat transfer rate. Stearic acid(SA) was blended with copper foam(CF) of pore numbers per inch(PPI) of 5, 20, and 40 to prepare composite phase change materials via a molten impregnation method. The thermal physical properties including latent heat, phase change temperature, and thermal energy storage density of composites were characterized. The thermogravimetric analysis indicated that the loadages of SA of SA/CF(5 PPI), SA/CF(20 PPI), and SA/CF(40 PPI) were 74.69%, 71.03%, and 63.54%, respectively;The latent heat of SA/CF(5 PPI), SA/CF(20 PPI), and SA/CF(40 PPI) were determined to 139.9 J·g^-1, 132.7 J·g^-1, and 117.8 J·g^-1, respectively. Meanwhile, the infrared thermal images of SA and SA/CF composites were provided to demonstrate the thermal energy storage and dissipation capability intuitively by the temperature response and surface temperature distribution. The infrared thermal images indicated the addition of CF also reduced the fluidity of liquid SA, and the SA/CF(40 PPI) had better internal heat transfer uniformity and thermal diffusion performance than SA/CF(5 PPI) and SA/CF(20 PPI). | 11 | Influence of cosmic radiation on lymphocyte micronucleus,serum lipid peroxide and antioxidation capacity in aircrew members显示文摘This study looks into the influence of cosmic radiation at high altitudes on human bodies. Results reveal that the cytokinesis-block micronuclei (CBMN) and conventional cultured micronuclei in peripheral blood lymphocytes, serum levels of lipid peroxide, superoxide dismutase, and the total antioxidation capacity by chemical colorimetry all increased significantly in aircrew members. There exists a linear relationship between the CBMN and the average annual effective doses of radiation received or the average annual flying hours. With both of them, a trend shows that the serum lipid peroxide levels increase as well. Either the lipid peroxide or CBMN can sensitively reflect the recent changes in flight load. | 13 | Mica-stabilized polyethylene glycol composite phase change materials for thermal energy storage显示文摘Mica was used as a supporting matrix for composite phase change materials(PCMs)in this work because of its distinctive morphology and structure.Composite PCMs were prepared using the vacuum impregnation method,in which mica served as the supporting material and polyethylene glycol(PEG)served as the PCM.Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the addition of PEG had no effect on the crystal structure of mica.Moreover,no chemical reaction occurred between PEG and mica during the vacuum impregnation process,and no new substance was formed.The maximum load of mica-stabilized PEG was 46.24%,the phase change temperature of M_(400)/PEG was 46.03℃,and the latent heat values of melting and cooling were 77.75 and 77.73 J·g^(−1),respectively.The thermal conductivity of M_(400)/PEG was 2.4 times that of pure PEG.The thermal infrared images indicated that the thermal response of M_(400)/PEG improved relative to that of pure PEG.The leakage test confirmed that mica could stabilize PEG and that M_(400)/PEG had great form-stabilized property.These results demonstrate that M_(400)/PEG has potential in the field of building energy conservation. | Dongyao Zhang Chuanchang Li Niangzhi Lin Baoshan Xie Jian Chen | 2022 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,1: | 3 |

| 15 | Application and evaluation of Stanghellini model in the determination of crop evapotranspiration in a naturally ventilated greenhouse显示文摘Stanghellini model is one of the few models primarily developed to predict the evapotranspiration of crops(ET_(c))in naturally ventilated greenhouses.However,there are insufficient data on the model regarding its use,particularly in China where solar greenhouses without heating systems are fast spreading for vegetable growth and production.The application of Stanghellini model and the evaluation of its performance using meteorological and tomato plant data generated inside an unheated and naturally ventilated multi-span Venlo-type greenhouse is exploited in this study.Model capability was evaluated by utilizing data from sap flow measurements,meteorological and crop data.Measured meteorological data included solar radiation(R_(s)),air temperature(T_(a)),relative humidity(RH)and net radiation(Rn).Average leaf area index(LAI)values measured during the experimental period were 1.00,3.30,4.05 and 2.93;while determined crop coefficients(K_(c))changed from 0.40,0.62,1.12 to 0.83 for the initial stage,development stage,mid-season stage and late-season stage,respectively.Results from the study indicated that the average hourly ET_(c) values of tomato plants using sap flow measurements were 0.165 mm/h,0.148 mm/h,0.192 mm/h and 0.154 mm/h for the initial stage,development stage,mid-season stage and late-season stage,respectively.Meanwhile,the ET_(c) values obtained from calculation using Stanghellini model were 0.158 mm/h,0.152 mm/h,0.202 mm/h and 0.162 mm/h for the initial stage,development stage,mid-season stage and late-season stage,respectively.These ET_(c) values calculated by the Stanghellini model were close to the measured values within the same period.The coefficients of correlation(R^(2))based on hourly ET_(c) for the calibration data was 0.94 and that of the validation dataset was 0.90.Scatter plots of the estimated and measured hourly ET_(c) revealed that the R^(2) and the slope of the regression line for May,June and July were 0.94,0.90,0.96 and 1.15,0.97,1.10 respectively.These data were well represented around the 1:1 regression line.A model sensitivity analysis carried out illustrates how the changes in R_(s) and T_(a) affect greenhouse ET_(c).Stanghellini model was therefore proven to be suitable for ET_(c) estimation with acceptable accuracy in unheated and naturally ventilated greenhouses in the Northeast region of China. | Samuel Joe Acquah Haofang Yan Chuan Zhang Guoqing Wang Baoshan Zhao Haimei Wu Hengnian Zhang | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6: | 3 |
| 16 | Preliminary Results of Tomography from Permanent Stations in the Anhui Airgun Experiment显示文摘In order to explore the ability of airgun sources in imaging the crustal structure,we conducted an experiment along the Yangzte River at the section from Ma 'anshan to Anqing using an offshore airgun source( referred as the Anhui Airgun Experiment).During the experiment,the airgun source was fired 2973 times at 20 multiple shot points,while 109 permanent stations and 700 temporary stations( 11 profiles) were used to record the signal. For 20 multiple shot points,we picked up 335 P-wave arrivals at 52 permanent stations. Then we obtained the P-wave velocity structure of the crust beneath the southern tip of the Tancheng-Lujiang( Tan-Lu) fault. The preliminary result of P-wave velocity structure confirms the possibility of 3D body wave imaging using large volume airgun sources. The imaged velocity heterogeneity at a depth of 15 km is correlated to the geological settings. | 17 | Progress and prospects of horizontal well fracturing technology for shale oil and gas reservoirs显示文摘By systematically summarizing horizontal well fracturing technology abroad for shale oil and gas reservoirs since the “13th Five-Year Plan”, this article elaborates new horizontal well fracturing features in 3D development of stacked shale reservoirs, small well spacing and dense well pattern, horizontal well re-fracturing, fracturing parameters optimization and cost control. In light of requirements on horizontal well fracturing technology in China, we have summarized the technological progress in simulation of multi-fracture propagation, horizontal well frac-design, electric-drive fracturing equipment, soluble tools and low-cost downhole materials and factory-like operation. | 19 | Simulated photo-degradation of dissolved organic matter in lakes revealed by three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix with regional integration and parallel factor analysis显示文摘Simulated photo-degradation of fluorescent dissolved organic matter(FDOM) in Lake Baihua(BH) and Lake Hongfeng(HF) was investigated with three-dimensional excitationemission matrix(3 DEEM) fluorescence combined with the fluorescence regional integration(FRI),parallel factor(PARAFAC) analysis,and multi-order kinetic models.In the FRI analysis,fulvic-like and humic-like materials were the main constituents for both BH-FDOM and HF-FDOM.Four individual components were identified by use of PARAFAC analysis as humic-like components(C1),fulvic-like components(C2),protein-like components(C3) and unidentified components(C4).The maximum 3 DEEM fluorescence intensity of PARAFAC components C1-C3 decreased by about 60%,70% and 90%,respectively after photo-degradation.The multi-order kinetic model was acceptable to represent the photo-degradation of FDOM with correlation coefficient(Radj2)(0.963-0.998).The photo-degradation rate constants(kn) showed differences of three orders of magnitude,from 1.09 × 10-6 to 4.02 × 10-4 min-1,and half-life of multi-order model(T1/2n)ranged from 5.26 to 64.01 min.The decreased values of fluorescence index(FI) and biogenic index(BI),the fact that of percent fluorescence response parameter of Region I(PⅠ,n) showed the greatest change ratio,followed by percent fluorescence response parameter of Region II(PⅡ,n,while the largest decrease ratio was found for C3 components,and the lowest T1/2n was observed for C3,indicated preferential degradation of protein-like materials/components derived from biological sources during photodegradation.This research on the degradation of FDOM by 3 DEEM/FRI-PARAFAC would be beneficial to understanding the photo-degradation of FD OM in natural environments and accurately predicting the environmental behaviors of contaminants in the presence of FDOM. | Jin Zhang Fanhao Song Tingting Li Kefu Xie Huiying Yao Baoshan Xing Zhongyu Li Yingchen Bai | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4: | 3 |
