1Stroke mechanisms and outcomes of isolated symptomatic basilar artery stenosis显示文摘background While diffuse atherosclerotic disease affecting the posterior circulation has been described extensively,the prevalence,natural history and angiographic characteristics of isolated symptomatic basilar artery stenosis(ISBAS)remain unknown.Methods We reviewed our prospective institutional database to identify patients with≥50% symptomatic basilar artery(BA)stenosis without significant atherosclerotic burden in the vertebral or posterior cerebral arteries.Stroke mechanism,collateral circulation,and degree and length of stenosis were analysed.The primary outcome was time from index event to new transient ischaemic attack(TIA),acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)or death.Other outcome variables included modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score on discharge and last follow-up.results Of 6369 patients with AIS/TIA,91(1.43%)had ISBAS.Seventy-three(80.2%)patients presented with AIS and 18(19.8%)with TIA.Twenty-nine(31.9%)were women and the median age was 66.8±13.6 years.The mean follow-up time was 2.7 years.The most common stroke mechanism was artery-to artery thromboembolism(45.2%),followed by perforator occlusion(28.7%)and flow-dependent/hypoperfusion(15.1%).The percentage of stenosis was lower in patients who had favourable outcome compared with those with mRS 3-6 on discharge(78.3±14.3 vs 86.9±14.5,p=0.007).Kaplan-Meier curves showed higher recurrence/death rates in patients with≥80% stenosis,mid-basilar location and poor collateral circulation.Approximately 13% of patients with ISBAS presented with complete BA occlusion.Conclusion ISBAS is an uncommon(1.43%)cause of TIA and AIS.Men in their 60s are mostly affected,and artery-to artery embolism is the most common stroke mechanism.Mid-basilar location,≥80% stenosis and poor collateral circulation are important factors associated with worse prognosis.Edgar A Samaniego Amir Shaban Santiago Ortega-Gutierrez Jorge A Roa David M Hasan Colin Derdeyn Biyue Dai Harold Adams Enrique Leira 2019Stroke & Vascular Neurology2019,4,4:10
2UAV navigation in high dynamic environments:A deep reinforcement learning approach显示文摘Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) navigation is aimed at guiding a UAV to the desired destinations along a collision-free and efficient path without human interventions, and it plays a crucial role in autonomous missions in harsh environments. The recently emerging Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL) methods have shown promise for addressing the UAV navigation problem,but most of these methods cannot converge due to the massive amounts of interactive data when a UAV is navigating in high dynamic environments, where there are numerous obstacles moving fast.In this work, we propose an improved DRL-based method to tackle these fundamental limitations.To be specific, we develop a distributed DRL framework to decompose the UAV navigation task into two simpler sub-tasks, each of which is solved through the designed Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM) based DRL network by using only part of the interactive data. Furthermore, a clipped DRL loss function is proposed to closely stack the two sub-solutions into one integral for the UAV navigation problem. 4Research progress on gel polymer electrolytes for lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have become a promising candidate for advanced energy storage system owing to low cost and high theoretical specific energy.In the last decade,in pursuit of Li-S batteries with enhanced safety and energy density,the investigation on the electrolytes has leaped form liquid organic electrolytes to solid polymer ones.However,such solid-state Li-S battery system is greatly limited by unfavorable ionic conductivity,poor interfacial contact and narrow electrochemical windows on account of the absence of any liquid components.To address these issues,gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs),the incorporation of liquid electrolytes into solid polymer matrixes,have been newly developed.Although the excellent ionic transport and low interfacial resistance provided by GPEs have prompted numerous researchers to make certain progress on high-performance Li-S coins,a comprehensive review on GPEs for Li-S batteries remains vacant.Herein,this review focuses on recent development and progress on GPEs in view of their physical and chemical properties for the applications in Li-S batteries.Studies on the components including solid hosts,liquid solutions and fillers of GPEs are systematically summarized with particular emphasis on the relationship between components and performance.Finally,current challenges and directional outlook for fabricating GPEs-based Li-S batteries with outstanding performance are outlined.Jie Qian Biyu Jin Yuanyuan Li Xiaoli Zhan Yang Hou Qinghua Zhang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:5
5Interconnected carbon nanocapsules with high N/S co-doping as stable and high-capacity potassium-ion battery anode显示文摘Carbonaceous materials have drawn much attention in potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) due to their low price and superior physicochemical properties. However, the application of carbonaceous materials in PIB anodes is hindered by sluggish kinetics and large volume expansion. Herein, N/S co-doped carbon nanocapsule (NSCN) is constructed for superior K+ storage. The NSCN possesses 3D nanocapsule framework with abundant meso/macropores, which guarantees structural robustness and accelerates ions/electrons transportation. The high-level N/S co-doping in carbon matrix not only generates ample defects and active sites for K+ adsorption, but also expands interlayer distance for facile K+ intercalation/deintercalation. As a result, the NSCN electrode delivers a high reversible capacity (408 mAh g^(−1) at 0.05 A g^(−1)), outstanding rate capability (149 mAh g^(−1) at 5 A g^(−1)) and favorable cycle stability (150m Ah g^(−1) at 2 A g^(−1) after 2000 cycles). Ex situ TEM, Raman and XPS measurements demonstrate the excellent stability and reversibility of NSCN electrode during potassiation/depotassiation process. 6Progress and mechanism of breaking glycoconjugates by glycosidases in skin for promoting unhairing and fiber opening-up in leather manufacture.A review显示文摘The glycoconjugates,herein glyco-proteins,existing in animal skins are closely related to the effectiveness of unhairing and fiber opening-up.Glycosidases have been used in leather making processes to reduce pollutants and improve leather quality.But the selection of glycosidases is still blind because the related mechanisms are not well understood yet.Hence,the animal skin structures and glycoconjugates components,the advances in the methods and mechanisms of removing glycoconjugates related to unhairing and fiber opening-up in leather manufacture,the kinds,compositions,structures and functions of typical glycoconjugates in skin are summarized.Then the approaches to destroy them,possible glycosidases suitable for leather making and their acting sites are analyzed based on the recognition of glycoconjugates in skin and the specificities of glycosidases toward substrates.It is expected to provide useful information for the optimization of glycosidases and the development of new enzymes and the cleaner technologies of unhairing and opening up fiber bundles assisted by glycosidases.Fengxiang Luo Xiang Zhong Mengchu Gao Biyu Peng Zhongzhen Long 2020Journal of Leather Science and Engineering2020,2,1:4

8The Effects of Polyphenol Oxidase and Cycloheximide on the Early Stage of Browning in Phalaenopsis Explants显示文摘Explant browning is one of the major problems in the tissue culture process, and polyphenol oxidase(PPO), is the major proteases involved in plant tissue browning. We investigated the effects of polyphenol oxidase on the early stage of browning in explants of the orchid Phalaenopsis. Our results show that PPO activity was significantly higher in explants cultured for 3 d than in the 0 h control. The levels of PPO transcripts and PPO protein were significantly higher in explants cultured for 6 h compared to the 0 h control; these high expression levels were maintained over increasing cultivation time. Cycloheximide(CHX) treatment reduced PPO transcript levels, PPO protein levels, and PPO enzyme activity. High levels of PPO m RNA and PPO protein were detected in the cytoplasm and vascular bundles of Phalaenopsis explants cultured for 6 h compared to explants cultured for 0 h, 24 h, and 3 d. 9Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of the β-amylase genes strongly associated with fruit development,ripening, and abiotic stress response in two banana cultivars显示文摘β-amylase(BAM) is an important enzyme involved in conversion of starch to maltose in multiple biological processes in plants. However, there is currently insufficient information on the BAM gene family in the important fruit crop banana. This study identified 16 BAM genes in the banana genome. Phylogenetic analysis showed that Ma BAMs were classified into four subfamilies. Most Ma BAMs in each subfamily shared similar gene structures. Conserved motif analysis showed that all identified Ma BAM proteins had the typical glyco hydro14 domains. Comprehensive transcriptomic analysis of two banana genotypes revealed the expression patterns of Ma BAMs in different tissues, at various stages of fruit development and ripening, and in responses to abiotic stresses. Most Ma BAMs showed strong transcript accumulation changes during fruit development and late-stage ripening. Some Ma BAMs showed significant changes under cold, salt, and osmotic stresses. This finding indicated that Ma BAMs might be involved in regulating fruit development, ripening, and responses to abiotic stress. Analysis of five hormone-related and seven stressrelevant elements in the promoters of Ma BAMs further revealed that BAMs participated in various biological processes. 10Nickel single atom overcoordinated active sites to accelerate the electrochemical reaction kinetics for Li-S cathode显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries with high theoretical energy density are promising advanced energy storage devices.However,shuttling of dissolute lithium polysulfide(LiPSs)and sluggish conversion kinetics impede their applications.Herein,single nickel(Ni)atoms on two-dimensional(2D)nitrogen(N)-doped carbon with Ni-N_(4)-O overcoordinated structure(SANi-N_(4)-O/NC)are prepared and firstly used as a sulfur host of Li-S batteries.Due to the efficient polysulfides traps and highly LiPSs conversion effect of SANi-N_(4)-O/NC,the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries obviously improved.The batteries can well operate even under high sulfur loading(5.8 mg cm^(-2))and lean electrolyte(6.1μL mg^(-1))condition.Meanwhile,density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that Ni single atom’s active sites decrease the energy barriers of conversion reactions from Li_(2)S_(8)to Li2S due to the strong interaction between SANi-N_(4)-O/NC and LiPSs.Thus,the kinetic conversion of LiPSs was accelerated and the shuttle effect is suppressed on SANi-N_(4)-O/NC host.This study provides a new design strategy for a 2D structure with single-atom overcoordinated active sites to facilitate the fast kinetic conversion of LiPSs for Li-S cathode.Juan Zhu Xinyue Wang Tian Ke Mingji Jia Biyu Jin Yuanyuan Li Qiwei Yang Lanhui Ren Yongyuan Ren Dangguo Cheng Jianguo Lu Xiang Gao Qinggang He Yang Hou Xiaoli Zhan Qinghua Zhang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:2
11Molecular identification of the key starch branching enzyme-encoding gene SBE2.3 and its interacting transcription factors in banana fruits显示文摘Starch branching enzyme(SBE)has rarely been studied in common starchy banana fruits.For the first time,we report here the molecular characterization of seven SBE(MaSBE)and six SBE(MbSBE)genes in the banana A-and B-genomes,respectively,which could be classified into three distinct subfamilies according to genome-wide identification.Systematic transcriptomic analysis revealed that six MaSBEs and six MbSBEs were expressed in the developing banana fruits of two different genotypes,BaXi Jiao(BX,AAA)and Fen Jiao(FJ,AAB),among which MaSBE2.3 and MbSBE2.3 were highly expressed.Transient silencing of MaSBE2.3 expression in banana fruit discs led to a significant decrease in its transcription,which coincides with significant reductions in total starch and amylopectin contents compared to those of empty vector controls.The suggested functional role of MaSBE2.3 in banana fruit development was corroborated by its transient overexpression in banana fruit discs,which led to significant enhancements in total starch and amylopectin contents.A number of transcription factors,including three auxin response factors(ARF2/12/24)and two MYBs(MYB3/308),that interact with the MaSBE2.3 promoter were identified by yeast one-hybrid library assays.Among these ARFs and MYBs,MaARF2/MaMYB308 and MaARF12/MaARF24/MaMYB3 were demonstrated via a luciferase reporter system to upregulate and downregulate the expression of MaSBE2.3,respectively.Hongxia Miao Peiguang Sun Qing Liu Juhua Liu Caihong Jia Dongfang Zhao Biyu Xu Zhiqiang Jin 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
