1Anatomical and chemical characteristics associated with lodging resistance in wheat显示文摘Anatomical and chemical characteristics of stems affect lodging in wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars. Traits associated with lodging resistance, such as plant height, stem strength, culm wall thickness, pith diameter, and stem diameter, were extensively investigated in earlier studies. However, the solid stem trait was rarely considered. In this study, we measured a range of anatomical and chemical characteristics on solid and hollow stemmed wheat cultivars. Significant correlations were detected between resistance to lodging and several anatomical features, including width of mechanical tissue, weight of low internodes, and width of stem walls. Morphological features that gave the best indication of improved lodging resistance were increased stem width, width of mechanical tissue layer, and stem density. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that 99% of the variation in lodging resistance could be explained by the width of the mechanical tissue layer, suggesting that solid stemmed wheat has several anatomical features for increasing resistance to lodging. In addition, microsatellite markers GWM247 and GWM340 were linked to a single solid stem QTL on chromosome 3BL in a population derived from the cross Xinongshixin(solid stem)/Line 3159(hollow stem). 2Reconstruction of flood events over the last 150 years in the lower reaches of the Changjiang River显示文摘The reconstruction of paleofloods in the Holocene has become one research highlight for the present global change study.The core sediments from one newly-emerged bar in the lower Changjiang River(Yangtze River)mainstream were collected for grain size and organic elemental measurements,with aim to reconstruct the flood events over the past 150 years.Major grain size parameters such as mean grain size,probability cumulative curve and C-M diagram of the core sediments clearly indicate the flood event deposition.Furthermore,the TOC/TN ratios in the sediments can indicate flood events considering that during the flash floods,strong surface erosion in the upper and lower reaches of the Changjiang River can transport a large amount of undecomposed plant debris and organic components with relatively low C/N ratios into the lower mainstream.Based on 210Pb dating and sedimentary geochemical results,the research profile recorded several large floods happened from 1850 to 1954,which agrees well with the historical documents and hydrological observations.Interesting to note that the flood events since the 1960s cannot be distinctly recognized on the basis of sediment grain size and organic elemental compositions of the profile,which mainly reflects the intensive human activities over the last fifty years,especially condense dam construction,have significantly changed the characters of suspended sediment into the lower mainstream.ZHAN Wang YANG ShouYe LIU XiaoLi LI JianWei CHOI ManSik 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,21:9
3Research progress on gel polymer electrolytes for lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have become a promising candidate for advanced energy storage system owing to low cost and high theoretical specific energy.In the last decade,in pursuit of Li-S batteries with enhanced safety and energy density,the investigation on the electrolytes has leaped form liquid organic electrolytes to solid polymer ones.However,such solid-state Li-S battery system is greatly limited by unfavorable ionic conductivity,poor interfacial contact and narrow electrochemical windows on account of the absence of any liquid components.To address these issues,gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs),the incorporation of liquid electrolytes into solid polymer matrixes,have been newly developed.Although the excellent ionic transport and low interfacial resistance provided by GPEs have prompted numerous researchers to make certain progress on high-performance Li-S coins,a comprehensive review on GPEs for Li-S batteries remains vacant.Herein,this review focuses on recent development and progress on GPEs in view of their physical and chemical properties for the applications in Li-S batteries.Studies on the components including solid hosts,liquid solutions and fillers of GPEs are systematically summarized with particular emphasis on the relationship between components and performance.Finally,current challenges and directional outlook for fabricating GPEs-based Li-S batteries with outstanding performance are outlined.Jie Qian Biyu Jin Yuanyuan Li Xiaoli Zhan Yang Hou Qinghua Zhang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:5
4A density functional theory study on the decomposition of aliphatic hydrocarbons and cycloalkanes during coal pyrolysis in hydrogen plasma显示文摘To get deep understanding of the reaction mechanism of coal pyrolysis in hydrogen plasma, the decomposition reaction pathways of aliphatic hydrocarbons and cycloalkanes, which are two main components in volatiles from coal, were investigated. Methane and cyclohexane were chosen as the model compounds. Density functional theory was employed, and many reaction pathways were involved. Calculations were carried out in Gaussian 09 at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level of the theory. The results indicate that the main pyrolysis products of methane and cyclohexane in hydrogen plasma are both hydrogen and acetylene, and the participation of active hydrogen atoms makes dehydrogenation reactions more favorable. H2 mainly comes from dehydrogenation process, while many reaction pathways are responsible for acetylene formation. 7Studies on the structure and catalytic performance of S and P promoted Na-W-Mn-Zr/SiO_2 catalyst for oxidative coupling of methane显示文摘A series of Na-W-Mn-Zr/SiO2 catalysts promoted by different contents of S or/and P were prepared and their catalytic performance for oxidative coupling of methane was investigated to clarify the effect of S and P on the Na-W-Mn-Zr/SiO2 catalyst. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). From the characterization results, it is found that the addition of S and P to the Na-W-Mn-Zr/SiO2 catalyst helps the formation of active phases, such as α-cristobalite, Na2WO4, ZrO2, and Na2SO4. Moreover, the addition of S and P increases the concentration of surface-active oxygen species by improving the migration of active components from the bulk phase to the surface of the catalyst. According to the activity test, impressive methane conversion and C2 hydrocarbons yield were obtained at a low temperature of 1023 K over the six-component Na-W-Mn-Zr-S-P/SiO2 catalyst, which contained 2 wt% S and 0.4 wt% P simultaneously. 8Aluminum impregnated silica catalyst for Friedel–Crafts reaction:Influence of ordering mesostructure显示文摘Friedel–Crafts alkylation of benzene with linear chain ole fin(C_(10)–C_(14)),which is an important reaction of synthetic detergent,was studied via different catalysts of aluminum impregnated silica molecular sieves.AlCl_3 was immobilized on silica molecular sieves with different channel structures,hexagonal packing channels network(SBA-15,MCM-41),and disordered channel network(SiO_2,SiO_2-Gel) by impregnation.XRD and N_2 adsorption–desorption isotherms con firmed that the speci fic mesoporous structures were maintained for order channel network catalyst after impregnation.Catalytic activities were investigated under different conditions.The in fluences of channel structure were discussed.The results showed that catalyst based on mesoporous like SBA-15 had the highest catalytic activities and 2-LAB selectivity compared with other catalysts in this work.The highest 2-LAB selectivity was nearly 50% when 1-dodecene conversion was nearly 100%.At low 1-dodecene conversion or higher benzene/1-dodecene molar ratio,2-LAB selectivity was nearly 60%.Yibo He Qinghua Zhang Xiaoli Zhan Dangguo Cheng Fengqiu Chen 2017Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,10:3
9Slippery Photothermal Trap for Outstanding Deicing Surfaces显示文摘Ice accumulation is a safety and operational threat in power lines,wind turbines,and transportations.Surfaces having both passive anti-icing and active deicing functionalities are very rare.Here,we report a self-cleaning slippery photothermal trap,which is icephobic passively and deice the surfaces actively by converting sun light to heat at the ice-substrate interface.The photothermal trap consists of three layers:a candle soot layer act as solar radiation absorber,a magnetic iron oxide Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles layer act as heat spreader for lateral dispersal of sun light,and Room Temperature Vulcanized(RTV)insulation to reduce the transverse heat loss.Upon illumination under microsolar 300,the temperature of the surface increased by 40℃ within 200 s.The heat confinement at the magnetic Fe_(3)O_(4) na-noparticles layer leads to rapid increase of the surface temperature,ice start to melt and silicone lubricant facilitates the ice removal.The slippery photothermal trap removed the frozen droplet(10 fiL)within 40 s upon the illumination of sun light and the frozen droplet was completely converted into water after 7 min illumination of solar light at-20℃.The developed slippery photothermal trap also melted the fully frost covered layer within 100 s at-20℃ under sunlamp.The average defrosted length(25 mm)was also observed by irradiation of laser light for 45 s.The self-cleaning slippery photothermal coating showed outstanding deicing performance at subzero temperature for long term due to the infusion of silicone oil into the nanostructures and same chemical composition with binder.Muhammad Imran Jamil Qiongyan Wang Amjad Ali Munir Hussain Tariq Aziz Xiaoli Zhan Qinghua Zhang 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,3:3
10Karacoline,identified by network pharmacology, reduces degradation of the extracellular matrix in intervertebral disc degeneration via the NF-κB signaling pathway显示文摘Karacoline is a compound found in the plant Aconitum kusnezoffii Reichb.Although Aconitum kusnezoffii Reichb is widely used for the treatment of pain,very few studies have been carried out on the use of karacoline due to its potential toxicity.In this study,we selected key matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs),collagen II,and aggrecan as targets due to their association with intervertebral disc degeneration(IDD).Using these targets,we then used network pharmacology to predict a series of molecules that might exert therapeutic effects on IDD.Of these molecules,karacoline was predicted to have the best effect.Tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-a is known to promote the degeneration of the extracellular matrix in IDD.We therefore applied different concentrations of karacoline(0,1.25,or 12.88 mM)along with 100 ng/mL TNF-a to rat nucleus pulposus cells and found that karacoline reduced the expression of MMP-14 in IDD by inhibiting the nuclear factor(NF)-κB pathway,while collagen II and aggrecan expression was increased.This suggested that extracellular matrix degradation was inhibited by karacoline(P<0.05).Our data therefore reveal a new clinical application of karacoline and provide support for the use of network pharmacology in predicting novel drugs.Xiaoli Zhou Yingying Hong Yulin Zhan 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,1:3
11Molecular identification of scallop planktonic larvae using species-specific microsatellites显示文摘The identification of scallop larvae is essential to understand the population structure and community dynamics and to assess the potential environmental impacts caused by scallop larvae released or escaped. However,the larvae identification by morphological characteristics is notoriously difficult,mainly due to the small size (usually being less than 150 μm) and vague morphological characteristics among different scallop species. A simple and accurate molecular method was developed to identify four economically farmed scallop species,the Zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri,the noble scallop C. nobilis,the bay scallop Argopecten irradians and the Yesso scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis. The tests used the high degree of species-specific microsatellite markers,which was specified by transferability analyses,assessed by reference individuals and evaluated by BLAST searches. The sensitivity test indicated that the species-specific microsatellites were sensitive enough for the detection of 1%~2% larvae in mixed plankton samples. Larvae collected from scallop hatcheries and their effluents and from the artificially controlled crosses were well identified to the species/hybrid level. 13An Efficient Procedure for Isolating Microsatellite DNAs from Sea Cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus)显示文摘The construction of enrichment library proves to be one of the efficient approaches for isolating microsatellites in this study. The genomic DNA of sea cucumber was digested with HaeIII and size-selected DNA fragments (250-700 bp) were ligated to an adaptor. Microsatellite-containing sequences were captured by using a combination of GA and CA probes, which were attached to a nylon membrane. The microsatellite enrichment library constructed in this study consisted of approximately 700 clones. Two hun-dred and thirty-two clones reacted positively after the library screening procedure. Of the 50 clones sequenced, all contained at least one microsatellite and one duplicate clone was found. 14Nickel single atom overcoordinated active sites to accelerate the electrochemical reaction kinetics for Li-S cathode显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries with high theoretical energy density are promising advanced energy storage devices.However,shuttling of dissolute lithium polysulfide(LiPSs)and sluggish conversion kinetics impede their applications.Herein,single nickel(Ni)atoms on two-dimensional(2D)nitrogen(N)-doped carbon with Ni-N_(4)-O overcoordinated structure(SANi-N_(4)-O/NC)are prepared and firstly used as a sulfur host of Li-S batteries.Due to the efficient polysulfides traps and highly LiPSs conversion effect of SANi-N_(4)-O/NC,the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries obviously improved.The batteries can well operate even under high sulfur loading(5.8 mg cm^(-2))and lean electrolyte(6.1μL mg^(-1))condition.Meanwhile,density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that Ni single atom’s active sites decrease the energy barriers of conversion reactions from Li_(2)S_(8)to Li2S due to the strong interaction between SANi-N_(4)-O/NC and LiPSs.Thus,the kinetic conversion of LiPSs was accelerated and the shuttle effect is suppressed on SANi-N_(4)-O/NC host.This study provides a new design strategy for a 2D structure with single-atom overcoordinated active sites to facilitate the fast kinetic conversion of LiPSs for Li-S cathode.Juan Zhu Xinyue Wang Tian Ke Mingji Jia Biyu Jin Yuanyuan Li Qiwei Yang Lanhui Ren Yongyuan Ren Dangguo Cheng Jianguo Lu Xiang Gao Qinggang He Yang Hou Xiaoli Zhan Qinghua Zhang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:2
15Development and Characterization of Microsatellite Markers for the Pacific Abalone (Haliotis discus) via EST Database Mining显示文摘The EST database of the Pacific abalone (Haliotis discus) was mined for developing microsatellite markers. A total of 1476 EST sequences were registered in GenBank when data mining was performed. Fifty sequences (approximately 3.4%) were found to contain one or more microsatellites. Based on the length and GC content of the flanking regions, cluster analysis and BLASTN, 13 microsatellite-containing ESTs were selected for PCR primer design. The results showed that 10 out of 13 primer pairs could amplify scorable PCR products and showed polymorphism. The number of alleles ranged from 2 to 13 and the values of Ho and He varied from 0.1222 to 0.8611 and 0.2449 to 0.9311, respectively. No significant linkage disequilibrium (LD) between any pairs of these loci was found, and 6 of 10 loci conformed to the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE). 16Synthesis and characterization of caprolactone based polyurethane with degradable and antifouling performance显示文摘In this work,a degradable polyurethane composed of caprolactone(CL)and L-Lactide(LLA)as soft segments,and 4,40-methylenebis(cyclohexyl isocyanate)(H12 MDI)and polytetramethylene ether glycol(PTMEG)as hard segments,was prepared.Hydrolytic degradation experiment revealed that the degradable polyurethane(PU)could be degraded in artificial seawater.It also showed that caprolactone-copolyurethane(CL-PU)copolymer with higher crystallinity degraded much slower in artificial seawater.However,the introduction of LLA resulted in an increase in the hydrophilicity and reduction in the crystallinity of degradable PU,as demonstrated by the contact angle analysis.The result of the scanning electron microscope showed that the surface of degradable PU renewed under static condition.Moreover,degradable PU was able to be used as a carrier,and it controlled the release rate of 4,5-dichloro-2-octyl-isothiazolone(DCOIT).The anti-diatom(Navicula incerta)test demonstrated that the(caprolactone-co-L-lactide)-co-polyurethane 4(CL/LAx-PU4)with DCOIT contents prevented the adhesion of diatom Navicula incerta(88.37%reduction)due to their self-polishing and the release of antifoulants.Therefore,the degradable PU consisted of CL,LLA,and DCOIT could be a durable resin with good antifouling activity for the application in the marine anti-biofouling field.Abid Ali Lina Song Jiankun Hu Jingxian Jiang Qingqing Rao Muhammad Shoaib Shah Fahad Yongjie Cai Xiaoli Zhan Fengqiu Chen Qinghua Zhang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,6:2

18Dealumination kinetics of composite ZSM-5/mordenite zeolite during steam treatment: An in-situ DRIFTS study显示文摘To get a better understanding of structural deactivation of ZSM-5/MOR during the catalytic cracking of n-heptane in the steam atmosphere, a comprehensive mechanism of hydrothermal dealumination was proposed through in-situ diffuse reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(DRIFTS) in this work. The mechanism can be divided into two steps: firstly, the hydrolysis of four Al\\O bonds, and secondly, the self-healing of Si\\OH bonds accompanied with partial condensation of the extra-framework Al species. Accordingly, the kinetics of dealumination process has also been fully discussed. In the IR spectra, the range of 3450–3850 cm^(-1) could be deconvolved to distinguish the hydroxyl groups on the different position and calculate the consumption of each hydroxyl group during the reaction. 19Characterization and catalytic behavior of Na-W-Mn-Zr-S-P/SiO_2 prepared by different methods in oxidative coupling of methane显示文摘Na-W-Mn-Zr-S-P/SiO2 catalysts for oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation, sol-gel and mixture slurry methods. The catalyst prepared by mixture slurry method showed the best catalytic performance among all samples. In addition, the effects of different addition sequences of Na, W, Mn, Zr, S and P on the catalytic performance were studied.
