1利用多模式对中国气温序列中不连续点的检测显示文摘发展了一种对元数据依赖程度较小的气候序列均一化思路,在缺乏元数据的基础上,采取3种不同的方法,对中国东南部地区年平均最高、最低气温序列进行了均一性检验;并对其中不连续的气温序列进行了订正。对比表明,订正后序列较订正前更为合理。在检验过程中发现,对于最低气温检验可以明显得出比最高气温更多的不连续点。为了进一步认识这个问题,对此进行了进一步分析,认为最低温度对变化更为敏感主要是由于其物理特征最低温度一般出现在夜间,夜间大气较为稳定,因此一些变化(如仪器,迁站)可能引起明显的不连续现象,而最高气温往往出现在白天,因此大气混合比较充分,空间的均一性要明显强于最低温度。另外,热岛现象、台站密度等因素均是影响气温序列均一化的因素。李庆祥 Matthew J.Menne Claude N.Williams Jr Bomin Sun 2005气候与环境研究2005,10,4:41
2Adsorption–desorption behavior of atrazine on agricultural soils in China显示文摘Adsorption and desorption are important processes that affect atrazine transport,transformation,and bioavailability in soils.In this study,the adsorption–desorption characteristics of atrazine in three soils(laterite,paddy soil and alluvial soil) were evaluated using the batch equilibrium method.The results showed that the kinetics of atrazine in soils was completed in two steps:a'fast' adsorption and a 'slow' adsorption and could be well described by pseudo-second-order model.In addition,the adsorption equilibrium isotherms were nonlinear and were well fitted by Freundlich and Langmuir models.It was found that the adsorption data on laterite,and paddy soil were better fitted by the Freundlich model;as for alluvial soil,the Langmuir model described it better.The maximum atrazine sorption capacities ranked as follows:paddy soil > alluvial soil > laterite.Results of thermodynamic calculations indicated that atrazine adsorption on three tested soils was spontaneous and endothermic.The desorption data showed that negative hysteresis occurred.Furthermore,lower solution pH value was conducive to the adsorption of atrazine in soils.The atrazine adsorption in these three tested soils was controlled by physical adsorption,including partition and surface adsorption.At lower equilibrium concentration,the atrazine adsorption process in soils was dominated by surface adsorption;while with the increase of equilibrium concentration,partition was predominant.Lin Yue ChengJun Ge Dan Feng Huamei Yu Hui Deng Bomin Fu 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,7:16

4Subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease: 8 years of follow-up显示文摘Objective:The short-term benefits of bilateral stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus(STN)in patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease(PD)are well documented,but long-term benefits are still uncertain.The aim of this study is to evaluate the outcome of 8 years of bilateral STN stimulation to PD patients.Methods:In this study,31 consecutive PD patients were treated with bilateral STN stimulation.Their functional status was measured using the Activities of Daily Living section of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS-ADL)at drug on(with medication)and drug off(without medication)states preoperatively and at 1,5,and 8 years postoperatively.In addition,Levodopa equivalent doses and stimulation parameters were also assessed.Results:After 8 years of STN stimulation,the UPDRS-ADL scores were improved by 4%at drug off status(P>0.05)and 22%at drug on status(P<0.05)compared with baseline;the levodopa daily doses were reduced by 28%(P<0.05)compared with baseline;the stimulation voltage and pulse width were not changed,but the stimulation frequency was decreased remarkably compared with the 5 years of follow-up.Adverse events were observed in 6 patients,including misplacement of the electrode and skin erosion requiring further surgery.All events were resolved without permanent sequelae.2 patients died of aspiration pneumonia 6 and 7 years after surgery.Conclusions:The marked improvement in UPDRS-ADL scores were still observed after 8 years of bilateral STN stimulation with medication.Dianyou Li Chunyan Cao Jing Zhang Shikun Zhan Shengdi Chen Bomin Sun 2013Translational Neurodegeneration2013,2,1:4
5On the Two Successive Supercold Waves Straddling the End of 2020 and the Beginning of 2021显示文摘Two supercold waves straddling 2020 and 2021 successively hit China and caused record-breaking extremely low temperatures.In this study,the distinct features of these two supercold waves are analyzed on the medium-range time scale.The blocking pattern from the Kara Sea to Lake Baikal characterized the first cold wave,while the large-scale tilted ridge and trough over the Asian continent featured the second cold wave.Prior to the cold waves,both the northwest and hyperpolar paths of cold air contributed to a zonally extensive cold air accumulation in the key region of Siberia.This might be the primary reason why strong and extensive supercold waves occur even under the Arctic amplification background.The two cold waves straddling 2020 and 2021 exhibited distinct features:(1)the blocking circulation occurred to the north or the east of the Ural Mountains and was not confined only to the Ural Mountains as it was for the earlier cold waves;(2)the collocation of the Asian blocking pattern and the polar vortex deflection towards East Asia preferred the hyperpolar path of cold air accumulation and the subsequent southward outburst;and(3)both high-and low-frequency processes worked in concert,leading to the very intense cold waves.The cold air advance along the northwest path,which coincides with the southeastward intrusion of the Siberian High(SH)front edge,is associated with the high-frequency process,while the cold air movement along the hyperpolar path,which is close to the eastern edge of the SH,is controlled by the low-frequency process.Cholaw BUEH Jingbei PENG Dawei LIN Bomin CHEN 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,4:3
6Anterior limb lesions in bilateral internal capsules and memory function in patients with refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous studies have shown that lesions in the anterior limb of the internal capsule contribute to obsessive-compulsive symptoms in patients with refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). However, few reports have addressed the effects of lesions in the anterior limb of the internal capsule on cognition, learning, and memory functions in patients with refractory OCD. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the degree of damage to memory tasks in refractory OCD patients following lesions to the anterior limb of the internal capsule. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A case-controlled, observational study was performed at the Department of Functional Neurosurgery, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao-Tong University, China from May 2007 to March 2008. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 10 refractory OCD patients were admitted to the Department of Functional Neurosurgery, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao-Tong University, China from May 2007 to March 2008 and were recruited for this study. The OCD patients were of equal gender, with an average age of (25.1 ± 9.6) years. An additional 10 healthy volunteers were enrolled from a community of Shanghai City as controls; they were of equal gender and aged (25.1 ± 8.6) years. METHODS: A total of 10 refractory OCD patients were subjected to lesions in the anterior limbs of the bilateral internal capsules. Wechsler Memory Scale–Chinese Revision (WMS-CR, as a task of explicit memory) and the Nissen Version (serial reaction time task) software (SRTT, as a task of implicit memory) were applied to determine memory functions and learning performance in pre- and post-operative OCD patients and controls. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: WMS scores, reaction time in SRTT, and Yale-Brown obsessive compulsive scale scores were measured in pre- and post-operative OCD patients and controls. RESULTS: Compared to controls, the pre-operative OCD patients exhibited reduced memory task scores (P = 0.005), whereas scores for reciting numbers of backwards digits were greater (P = 0.000). Figure recall and associative memory were less in OCD patients at 1 week following surgery than in the pre-operative OCD patients (P = 0.042, P = 0.002, respectively). Reaction time in implicit SRTT was significantly longer in pre-operative OCD patients compared with controls and post-operative OCD patients (P = 0.01, P = 0.03, respectively). These results suggested ameliorated SRTT following neurosurgery. Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale results revealed significantly improved OCD following lesions in the internal capsule (P = 0.04). Some post-operative OCD patients suffered from deficits in short-term memory and implicit memory. 7Neurosurgical treatment for addiction:lessons from an untold story in China and a path forward显示文摘Addiction is a major public-health crisis associated with significant disability and mortality.Although various pharmacological and behavioral treatments are currently available,the clinical efficacy of these treatments is limited.Given this situation,there is a growing interest in finding an effective neurosurgical treatment for addiction.First,we discuss the use of ablative surgery in treating addiction.We focus on the rise and fall of nucleus accumbens ablation for addiction in China.Subsequently,we review recent studies that have explored the efficacy and safety of deep-brain-stimulation treatment for addiction.We conclude that neurosurgical procedures,particularly deep-brain stimulation,have a potentially valuable role in the management of otherwise intractable addictive disorders.Larger well-controlled clinical trials,however,are needed to assess clinical efficacy and safety.We end by discussing several key issues involved in this clinical field and identifying some areas of progress.Shuo Ma Chencheng Zhang Ti-fei Yuan Douglas Steele Valerie Voon Bomin Sun 2020National Science Review2020,7,3:2
8Functional Connectivity-Based Modelling Simulates SubjectSpecific Network Spreading Effects of Focal Brain Stimulation显示文摘Neurostimulation remarkably alleviates the symptoms in a variety of brain disorders by modulating the brain-wide network. However, how brain-wide effects on the direct and indirect pathways evoked by focal neurostimulation elicit therapeutic effects in an individual patient is unknown. Understanding this remains crucial for advancing neural circuit-based guidance to optimize candidate patient screening, pre-surgical target selection, and post-surgical parameter tuning. To address this issue, we propose a functional brain connectome-based modeling approach that simulates the spreading effects of stimulating different brain regions and quantifies the rectification of abnormal network topology in silico. We validated these analyses by pinpointing nuclei in the basal ganglia circuits as top-ranked targets for 43 local patients with Parkinson's disease and 90 patients from a public database. Individual connectome-based analysis demonstrated that the globus pallidus was the best choice for 21.1% and the subthalamic nucleus for 19.5% of patients. Down-regulation of functional connectivity(up to 12%) at these prioritized targets optimally maximized the therapeutic effects. Notably, the priority rank of the subthalamic nucleus significantly correlated with motor symptom severity(Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale III) in the local cohort. 9Multi-objective optimization of environmental tax for mitigating air pollution and greenhouse gas显示文摘Government macro-control through various policies is an important way to mitigate air pollution and greenhouse gases.Therefore,environmental tax is used worldwide as an important measure.However,few studies have considered the interaction between carbon and environmental protection taxes.Additionally,different sectors differ in their energy structure,pollution emission intensity,and economic status,and previous studies rarely proposed differentiated environmental tax rates based at the sectoral level.A model framework combining the computable general equilibrium(CGE)model and Bayesian optimization(BO)algorithm is proposed to maximize GDP,meet environmental planning objectives,and explore the optimal environmental taxation scheme to realize the multi-objective optimization of the economy and environment.Meanwhile,this study compares the different impact mechanisms of environmental protection tax and carbon tax.It discusses the impacts of differentiated environmental tax rates in different sectors on the environment and economy.For example,the results show that the coordinated implementation of environmental protection and carbon tax policies and the sectoral differentiated environmental tax rates in China could better balance economic development and environmental governance.Additionally,the optimal taxation scheme could mitigate air pollution and greenhouse gases,promote economic growth,and realize sustainable economic and environmental development.Furthermore,the optimized taxation scheme positively affects the energy and industrial structures.Sijing Li Ning Jia Zhenni Chen Huibin Du Zengkai Zhang Bomin Bian 2022Journal of Management Science and Engineering2022,7,3:1

11Deep brain stimulation for Tourette’s syndrome显示文摘Tourette syndrome(TS)is a childhood-onset neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by the presence of multiple motor and vocal tics.TS usually co-occurs with one or multiple psychiatric disorders.Although behavioral and pharmacological treatments for TS are available,some patients do not respond to the available treatments.For these patients,TS is a severe,chronic,and disabling disorder.In recent years,deep brain stimulation(DBS)of basal ganglia-thalamocortical networks has emerged as a promising intervention for refractory TS with or without psychiatric comorbidities.Three major challenges need to be addressed to move the field of DBS treatment for TS forward:(1)patient and DBS target selection,(2)ethical concerns with treating pediatric patients,and(3)DBS treatment optimization and improvement of individual patient outcomes(motor and phonic tics,as well as functioning and quality of life).The Tourette Association of America and the American Academy of Neurology have recently released their recommendations regarding surgical treatment for refractory TS.Here,we describe the challenges,advancements,and promises of the use of DBS in the treatment of TS.We summarize the results of clinical studies and discuss the ethical issues involved in treating pediatric patients.Our aim is to provide a better understanding of the feasibility,safety,selection process,and clinical effectiveness of DBS treatment for select cases of severe and medically intractable TS.Wenying Xu Chencheng Zhang Wissam Deeb Bhavana Patel Yiwen Wu Valerie Voon Michael S.Okun Bomin Sun 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,1:1

14A flexible neural implant with ultrathin substrate for low-invasive brain–computer interface applications显示文摘Implantable brain–computer interface(BCI)devices are an effective tool to decipher fundamental brain mechanisms and treat neural diseases.However,traditional neural implants with rigid or bulky cross-sections cause trauma and decrease the quality of the neuronal signal.Here,we propose a MEMS-fabricated flexible interface device for BCI applications.The microdevice with a thin film substrate can be readily reduced to submicron scale for low-invasive implantation.An elaborate silicon shuttle with an improved structure is designed to reliably implant the flexible device into brain tissue.The flexible substrate is temporarily bonded to the silicon shuttle by polyethylene glycol.On the flexible substrate,eight electrodes with different diameters are distributed evenly for local field potential and neural spike recording,both of which are modified by Pt-black to enhance the charge storage capacity and reduce the impedance.The mechanical and electrochemical characteristics of this interface were investigated in vitro.In vivo,the small cross-section of the device promises reduced trauma,and the neuronal signals can still be recorded one month after implantation,demonstrating the promise of this kind of flexible BCI device as a low-invasive tool for brain–computer communication.Zhejun Guo Fang Wang Longchun Wang Kejun Tu Chunpeng Jiang Ye Xi Wen Hong Qingda Xu Xiaolin Wang Bin Yang Bomin Sun Zude Lin Jingquan Liu 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,6:1
