1Acupuncture-movement therapy for acute lumbar sprain: a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: Several studies have reported that acupuncture is effective for treatment of acute lumbar sprain, but they neglected to consider that acupuncture cannot remarkably improve lumbar activity. We performed a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effect of acupuncture-movement therapy versus conventional acupuncture in the treatment of acute lumbar sprain.METHODS: Sixty patients were randomized into four groups: the acupuncture-movement(AM)group, sham acupuncture-movement(SAM) group,conventional acupuncture(CA) group, and physical therapy(PT) group. Patients in the AM group were treated with acupuncture at Yintang(EX-HN 3) and exercise of the lumbar region during acupuncture.Patients in the SAM group were treated with sham acupuncture at Yintang(EX-HN 3) and exercise of the lumbar region during sham acupuncture. Conventional acupuncture was performed in the CA group, and physical therapy was applied in the PT group. Each treatment lasted for 20 min. Patients were assessed before and after treatment using a visual analogue scale(VAS) and the Roland Morris Questionnaire(RMQ).RESULTS: The VAS and RMQ scores in the AM group were significantly lower after than before treatment(P < 0.01). The AM group reported lower RMQ scores in after-treatment and 24 h after treatment and lower VAS score in 24 h after treatment in comparison with those of the CA, SAM, and PT groups(P < 0.05).CONCULSION: Acupuncture-movement therapy is effective for treating acute lumbar sprain with a persistent pain-relief and remarkable improvement of lumbar activity. 2Effect of stimulating acupoint Guanyuan(CV 4) on lower back pain by burning moxa heat for different time lengths: a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of different heat-stimulating time lengths on lower back pain.METHODS: Forty participants were randomly assigned to four groups of various heating time lengths. The short heating time length group(SL),moderate heating time length group(ML), and long heating time length group(LL) respectively received 15, 30, and 60 min of moxibustion therapy stimulating the acupoint Guanyuan(CV 4). The conventional acupuncture group(CA) received needle acupuncture treatment as a control group. The participants were treated continuously over a 2-week treatment period for a total of 10 sessions, with five sessions given per week. Participants were assessed weekly by blinded assessors, using the visual analogue scale(VAS) and Roland Morris Questionnaire(RMQ).RESULTS: The VAS and RMQ scores reduced in all four groups during treatment. There were significant differences in VAS scores(P < 0.01) and RMQ scores(P < 0.01) between before treatment and after 2 weeks of treatment in the LL group. 3Heredity in the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Hot-rolled Spring Steel Wire 60Si2MnA during Heat Treatment Process显示文摘Heredity in the microstructure and mechanical properties of hot-rolled spring steel wire 60Si2MnA during heat treatment process was investigated comprehensively. The steel was isothermally transformed to obtain various hot-rolled microstructure (pearlite fineness within the range of 140-510 nm) and mechanical properties, and followed by some quenching-tempering treatment. Afterwards, microstructure was characterized by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and quantitative metallography, and mechanical properties were determined by tensile test. The results indicated that the hot-rolled microstructure with a coarsen pearlite structure had been changed after reheating, to a austenite microstructure with bigger and more uneven grain size, and finally to a coarsen tempered microstructure. And the average austenite grain size and standard deviation of its distribution in quenched microstructure were observed to depend linearly on the interlamellar spacing in hot-rolled microstructure. 4Development of nutritious rice with high zinc/selenium and low cadmium in grains through QTL pyramiding显示文摘Enriching zinc(Zn) and selenium(Se) levels,while reducing cadmium(Cd) concentration in rice grains is of great benefit for human diet and health.Large natural variations in grain Zn, Se, and Cd concentrations in different rice accessions enable Zn/Sebiofortification and Cd-minimization through molecular breeding. Here, we report the development of new elite varieties by pyramiding major quantitative trait loci(QTLs) that significantly contribute to high Zn/Se and low Cd accumulation in grains. A chromosome segment substitution line CSSLGCC7 with the PA64s-derived GCC7 allele in the 93-11 background, exhibited steadily higher Mn and lower Cd concentrations in grains than those of 93-11. This elite chromosome segment substitution line(CSSL) was used as the core breeding material to cross with CSSLs harboring other major QTLs for essential mineral elements, especially CSSLGZC6 for grain Zn concentration and CSSLGSC5 for grain Se concentration. The CSSLGCC7+GZC6 and CSSLGCC7+GSC5 exhibited lower Cd concentration with higher Zn and Se concentrations in grains, respectively. 5Effect of acupuncture anesthesia on acne vulgaris of pricking-blood-letting cupping: a single-blind randomized clinical trail显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect on acne vulgaris of pricking-bloodletting cupping at Dazhui(GV 14) under acupuncture anesthesia, and establish whether providing anesthesia to the treatment area by manipulating Hegu(LI 4) and Quchi(LI 11) might have an additional therapeutic benefit. METHODS: Thirty-eight patients were recruited and randomized into a control group and an intervention group with a single-blind(observer-blind) method. The control group was treated by pricking-bloodletting cupping at Dazhui(GV 14) and the studied group by pricking-bloodletting cupping at Dazhui(GV 14) under acupuncture anesthesia at Hegu(LI 4) and Quchi(LI 11). Both groups were treated twice weekly for 6 weeks. The analgesic and therapeutic effects of acupuncture were evaluated on a visual analog scale(VAS) and global acne grading system(GAGS), respectively.RESULTS: There were differences in the VAS scores of pain on pricking and in the pricked area, and the duration of pain between the groups. After 12 treatments, there was a significant reduction in GAGS scores from baseline in both groups, but there was no significant difference between the groups. CONCLUSION: Acupuncture anesthesia at Hegu(LI 4) and Quchi(LI 11) is an effective means of alleviating the pain of pricking-bloodletting cupping and reducing the duration of pain in the treatment area. 6Microstructure Control of Non-quenched and Tempered CT80Grade Coiled Tubing Steel显示文摘Complex working condition of coiled tube(CT) steel demands high strength and low ratio of yield strength(YS) to tensile strength(TS). Reasonable microstructure control is a key problem of CT steel. Controlled rolling and controlled cooling experiments were carried out by two kinds of tested steels with different chemical compositions to develop the non-quenched and tempered CT80 steel. Mechanical properties of the tested steels at different processes are all in good agreement with the properties requirement of CT80. Increasing of Mo and Nb contents improves transformation of acicular ferrite and martensite–austenite(M–A) islands. 4 vol% of fine M/A islands increase TS and decreases ratio of YS/TS. Cooling rate increasing also improves acicular ferrite transformation and enhances TS, but has little effect on ratio of YS/TS. 7Nationwide distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soil of China and the association with bacterial community显示文摘Soil contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)has raised great environmental concerns.However,the information on national wide distribution of PAHs in soil as well as their effect on soil bacterial community are limited.In this study,16 PAHs weremeasured in 94 soil samples collected across China.The total concentration of 16 PAHs(PAHs)in soil ranged from 74.0 to 17,657 ng/g(dry weight basis),with a median value of 200 ng/g.Pyrene was themajor soil PAH,with amedian concentration of 71.3 ng/g.Soil samples from Northeast China had a higher median concentration ofPAHs(1,961 ng/g)than those from other regions.Petroleum emission and wood/grass/coal combustion were potential sources for soil PAHs based on diagnostic ratios and positive matrix factors analysis.A nonnegligible ecological risk(hazard quotients>1)was found in over 20%of soil samples analyzed and the highestmedian total HQs value(8.53)was found in soils from Northeast China.The effect of PAHs on bacterial abundance,α-diversity,andβ-diversity was limited in the soils surveyed.Nevertheless,the relative abundance of some members in genera Gaiella,Nocardioides,and Clostridium was significantly correlated with the concentrations of some PAHs.Especially,the bacterium Gaiella Occulta showed potential in indicating soil contamination by PAH,which is worth further exploration.Qiuyue Zhang Meng Gao Xinhui Sun Yu Wang Chaolei Yuan Hongwen Sun 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,6:3

9Heat Treatment Properties of 42CrMo Steel for Bearing Ring of Varisized Shield Tunneling Machine显示文摘The heat treatment properties of 42 CrMo steel for bearing ring of varisized shield tunneling machine were investigated by optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscope(SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM),and impact tests. The addition of 0.03 wt% C into 42 CrMo steel can increase the hardness. But it reduces the impact energy by 46 J because of the appearance of coarser carbides in the matrix and the carbides along the austenite grain boundary.The addition of 0.40 wt% Mn into 42 CrMo steel can improve hardenability. However, the toughness of steel is also reduced by 26 J mainly because of the coarsening of carbides and the strengthening of matrix. Both hardenability and toughness of 42 CrMo steel can be improved by adding 1.49 wt% Ni and reducing 0.32 wt% Cr. The depth of hardening layer can be raised to 45 mm, and the impact energy at-20 °C is 120 J. 10Chemical oxidation of arsenic in the environment and its application in remediation: A mini review显示文摘Arsenic(As)contamination in soil and water poses a serious threat to the ecosystem health and human beings,and is of widespread concern.The main As species found in soil and water are arsenite As(Ⅲ)and arsenate As(V).Because As(Ⅲ)is more toxic and often more mobile than As(Ⅴ),many remediation strategies aim to oxidize As(Ⅲ)to As(Ⅴ).In the environment,the reduction of As(Ⅴ)under anaerobic conditions is mainly mediated by microorganisms,but the oxidation of As(Ⅲ)under aerobic conditions can be mediated primarily by chemical processes.This article first reviews the existing knowledge on chemical oxidation of As(Ⅲ)in the environment,with an emphasis on the roles of iron(Fe)and manganese(Mn)oxides.The application of Fe and Mn oxides for the remediation of As-contaminated soil and water is then summarized.The oxidation of As(Ⅲ)by oxygen is very slow in the absence of catalysts.Many Mn oxides,on the other hand,can efficiently oxidize As(Ⅲ).Although the oxidation of As(Ⅲ)by Fe(Ⅲ)is also slow,this process can be accelerated by light or Fe(Ⅱ).Iron and Mn oxides are widely used for the remediation of As-contaminated soil and water,with Fe oxides generally acting as absorbents while Mn oxides as oxidants.To better understand and regulate As transformation and transport in the environment,further study is needed on the mechanisms and influencing factors of As(Ⅲ)oxidation by Fe and Mn oxides,and the development of innovative methods and materials based on Fe and Mn oxides are desired.Chaolei YUAN Qi LI Zhaoyang SUN Wenjun ZHANG Jiangrong CHEN Zheng CHEN Shuo NA Hongwen SUN 2023Pedosphere2023,33,1:2

13Evidence for lung repair and regeneration in humans: key stem cells and therapeutic functions of fibroblast growth factors显示文摘Regeneration carries the idea of regrowing partially or completely a missing organ.Repair,on the other hand,allows restoring the function of an existing but failing organ.The recognition that human lungs can both repair and regenerate is quite novel,the concept has not been widely used to treat patients.We present evidence that the human adult lung does repair and regenerate and introduce different ways to harness this power.Various types of lung stem cells are capable of proliferating and differentiating upon injury driving the repair/regeneration process.Injury models,primarily in mice,combined with lineage tracing studies,have allowed the identification of these important cells.Some of these cells,such as basal cells,broncho-alveolar stem cells,and alveolar type 2 cells,rely on fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling for their survival,proliferation and/or differentiation.While preclinical studies have shown the therapeutic benefits of FGFs,a recent clinical trial for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) using intravenous injection of FGF7 did not report the expected beneficial effects.We discuss the potential reasons for these negative results and propose the rationale for new approaches for future clinical trials,such as delivery of FGFs to the damaged lungs through efficient inhalation systems,which may be more promising than systemic exposure to FGFs.While this change in the administration route presents a challenge,the therapeutic promises displayed by FGFs are worth the effort.Xuran Chu Chengshui Chen Chaolei Chen Jin-San Zhang Saverio Bellusci Xiaokun Li 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,3:1
14Pulsed electrolysis of carbon dioxide by large-scale solid oxide electrolytic cells for intermittent renewable energy storage显示文摘CO_(2) electrolysis with solid oxide electrolytic cells(SOECs)using intermittently available renewable energy has potential applications for carbon neutrality and energy storage.In this study,a pulsed current strategy is used to replicate intermittent energy availability,and the stability and conversion rate of the cyclic operation by a large-scale flat-tube SOEC are studied.One hundred cycles under pulsed current ranging from -100 to -300 mA/cm^(2) with a total operating time of about 800 h were carried out.The results show that after 100 cycles,the cell voltage attenuates by 0.041%/cycle in the high current stage of−300 mA/cm^(2),indicating that the lifetime of the cell can reach up to about 500 cycles.The total CO_(2) conversion rate reached 52%,which is close to the theoretical value of 54.3% at -300 mA/cm^(2),and the calculated efficiency approached 98.2%,assuming heat recycling.This study illustrates the significant advantages of SOEC in efficient electrochemical energy conversion,carbon emission mitigation,and seasonal energy storage.Anqi Wu Chaolei Li Beibei Han Wu Liu Yang Zhang Svenja Hanson Wanbing Guan Subhash C.Singhal 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,4:1
15Synthetic apomixis enables stable transgenerational transmission of heterotic phenotypes in hybrid rice显示文摘In hybrid plants,heterosis often produces large,vigorous plants with high yields;however,hybrid seeds are generated by costly and laborious crosses of inbred parents.Apomixis,in which a plant produces a clone of itself via asexual reproduction through seeds,may produce another revolution in plant biology.Recently,synthetic apomixis enabled clonal reproduction of F_(1) hybrids through seeds in rice(Oryza sativa),but the inheritance of the synthetic apomixis trait and superior heterotic phenotypes across generations remained unclear.Here,we propagated clonal plants to the T_(4) generation and investigated their genetic and molecular stability at each generation.By analyzing agronomic traits,as well as the genome,methylome,transcriptome,and allele-specific transcriptome,we showed that the descendant clonal plants remained stable.Unexpectedly,in addition to normal clonal seeds,the plants also produced a few aneuploids that had eliminated large genomic segments in each generation.Despite the identification of rare aneuploids,the observation that the synthetic apomixis trait is stably transmitted through multiple generations helps confirm the feasibility of using apomixis in the future.Chaolei Liu Zexue He Yan Zhang Fengyue Hu Mengqi Li Qing Liu Yong Huang Jian Wang Wenli Zhang Chun Wang Kejian Wang 2023Plant Communications2023,4,2:0

18Identification of QTLs for Cadmium Tolerance During Seedling Stage and Validation of qCDSL1 in Rice显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)is a non-essential toxic metal that is harmful to plants.To investigate the genetic mechanism of Cd tolerance in rice,quantitative trait loci(QTLs)associated with Cd tolerance at the seedling stage were analyzed using a recombinant inbred line(RIL)population derived from a cross between PA64s and 93-11.A total of 36 QTLs associated with shoot length,root length,shoot dry weight,root dry weight and total dry weight were detected in Hangzhou and Lingshui of China.Among them,15 QTLs were identified under the control condition and 15 QTLs were identified under the Cd stress condition,and 6 QTLs for Cd tolerant coefficient were detected on chromosomes 1,3,7 and 9.The qCDSL1.1 and qCDSL1.2 were identified in Hangzhou and Lingshui,respectively,and had overlapping intervals on chromosome 1.To further confirm the effects of qCDSL1.1 and qCDSL1.2,we developed a chromosome segment substitution line(CSSL),CSSLqCDSL1,in 93-11 background harboring qCDSL1.1/qCDSL1.2 from PA64s.Compared to 93-11,CSSLqCDSL1 had increased shoot length under the Cd stress condition.These results pave the way for further isolation of those genes controlling Cd tolerance in rice and marker-assistant selection of rice elite varieties with Cd tolerance.Ding Shilin Liu Chaolei Shang Lianguang Yang Shenglong Zhang Anpeng Jiang Hongzhen Ruan Banpu Fang Guonan Tian Biao Ye Guoyou Guo Longbiao Qian Qian Gao Zhenyu 2021Rice science2021,28,1:0
