1Investigation of water impingement on a multi-element high-lift airfoil by Lagrangian and Eulerian approach显示文摘McDonnell Douglas Aerospace(MDA)high-lift model is widely used in the study of multi-element airfoil,while there is still short knowledge of ice accretion and water impingement on it.In this paper,based on two-phase flow theory,two numerical models were presented by using both Eulerian approach and Lagrangian approach,respectively,in order to predict the water impingement efficiency on a two-dimensional(2D)multi-element high-lift airfoil.Both computational results were validated with the experiment data,which shown good agreements in the impingement limitations and tendency.The trend that how the attack angle and droplet diameter affect the feather of local water impingement characteristics on the different elements of MDA were further investigated.As shown in this research,the trends that the local impingement intensity and extent on flap of MDA varied differently as in general understanding due to the complex structures of flow field,which should be careful cognized in design of the ice protection system.Chenxing Yu Peng Ke Guangfeng Yu Chunxin Yang 2015Propulsion and Power Research2015,4,3:4

4Construction of a high-density SSR genetic linkage map and identification of QTL for storage-root yield and dry-matter content in sweetpotato显示文摘Sweetpotato(Ipomoea batatas(L.)Lam.)is a widely grown food crop especially in developing countries.Increasing storage-root yield and dry-matter content has been the main breeding objective of the crop,and DNA marker-assisted breeding is needed for this purpose.In this study,using a mapping population of 500 F1 individuals from a cross between Xushu 18(female)and Xu 781(male),we constructed a highdensity genetic linkage map of sweetpotato using 601 simple-sequence repeat(SSR)primer pairs.The Xushu 18 map contained 90 linkage groups with 5547 SSR markers and spanned 18,263.5 cM,and the Xu 781 map contained 90 linkage groups with 4599 SSR markers and spanned 18,043.7 cM,representing the highest genome coverage yet reported for sweetpotato.We identified 33 QTL for storage-root yield and 16 QTL for dry-matter content,explaining respectively 6.5%–47.5%and 3.2%–18.9%of variation.These results provide a foundation for fine-mapping and cloning of QTL and for marker-assisted breeding in sweetpotato.Chenxing Zheng Zhicheng Jiang Yusha Meng Jun Yu Xinsun Yang Huan Zhang Ning Zhao Shaozhen He Shaopei Gao Hong Zhai Qingchang Liu 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,3:0
5Roost selection of the endangered Spotted Greenshank(Tringa guttifer) in critical habitat in the Inner Gulf of Thailand显示文摘Background: Roost-site quality can significantly affect the individual fitness of shorebirds, but roost sites remain poorly described for many threatened species on the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. We studied roost-site selection of the globally endangered Spotted Greenshank (Tringa guttifer) in the Inner Gulf of Thailand, an area which supports approximately 24% of their global wintering population, during two non-breeding seasons (October 2014–May 2015 and December 2015–February 2016). Methods: We measured nine variables associated with roost site characteristics including water depth, indicators of disturbance/predation risk, and associations with other shorebird species. We predicted that roost ponds with shallow water in proximity to foraging sites would receive higher usage than those further away. Results: A total of 94 sites were measured of which 46 were used for roosts with 23 used repeatedly. All used sites were human-modified ponds, of which 44 were used for salt farming and two used for aquaculture. Roosts were on average 1.10 ± 0.78 (SE) km from foraging sites and 5.8 ± 2.4 cm deep. The most supported model indicated that roost sites were negatively associated with distance to foraging sites and positively associated with the presence of Grey Plover (Pluvialis squatarola) and water depth. Conclusions: Traditional saltpans and other artificial wetlands near (< 1 km) mudflats serve as the primary high-tide roost habitat in the Inner Gulf of Thailand for this Spotted Greenshank population and perhaps seven other globally threatened or near-threatened species.
