1Two-dimensional MXenes for lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Rechargeable lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have attracted significant research attention due to their high capacity and energy density.However,their commercial applications are still hindered by challenges such as the shuttle effect of soluble lithium sulfide species,the insulating nature of sulfur,and the fast capacity decay of the electrodes.Various efforts are devoted to address these problems through questing more conductive hosts with abundant polysulfide chemisorption sites,as well as modifying the separators to physically/chemically retard the polysulfides migration.Two dimensional transition metal carbides,carbonitrides and nitrides,so-called MXenes,are ideal for confining the polysulfides shuttling effects due to their high conductivity,layered structure as well as rich surface terminations.As such,MXenes have thus been widely studied in Li-S batteries,focusing on the conductive sulfur hosts,polysulfides interfaces,and separators.Therefore,in this review,we summarize the significant progresses regarding the design of multifunctional MXene-based Li-S batteries and discuss the solutions for improving electrochemical performances in detail.In addition,challenges and perspectives of MXenes for Li-S batteries are also outlined.Chuanfang(John)Zhang Linfan Cui Sina Abdolhosseinzadeh Jakob Heier 2020InfoMat2020,2,4:16

3Coagulation factors VII, IX and X are effective antibacterial proteins against drug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria显示文摘Infections caused by drug-resistant“superbugs”pose an urgent public health threat due to the lack of effective drugs;however, certain mammalian proteins with intrinsic antibacterial activity might be underappreciated. Here, we reveal an antibacterial property against Gram-negative bacteria for factors VII, IX and X, three proteins with well-established roles in initiation of the coagulation cascade. These factors exert antibacterial function via their light chains (LCs). Unlike many antibacterial agents that target cell metabolism or the cytoplasmic membrane, the LCs act by hydrolyzing the major components of bacterial outer membrane, lipopolysaccharides, which are crucial for the survival of Gram-negative bacteria. The LC of factor VII exhibits in vitro efficacy towards all Gram-negative bacteria tested, including extensively drug-resistant (XDR) pathogens, at nanomolar concentrations. It is also highly effective in combating XDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii infections in vivo. Through decoding a unique mechanism whereby factors VII, IX and X behave as antimicrobial proteins, this study advances our understanding of the coagulation system in host defense, and suggests that these factors may participate in the pathogenesis of coagulation disorder-related diseases such as sepsis via their dual functions in blood coagulation and resistance to infection. 5Interfacial assembly of two-dimensional MXenes显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D) transition metal carbides, carbonitrides and nitrides, known as MXenes, are emerging quickly at the frontiers of 2D materials world. Their exotic properties such as the highest electrical conductivity among all solution-processed 2 D materials, the best electromagnetic interference shielding performance outperforming that of copper or aluminum at a nanoscale thickness, as well as the highest volumetric capacitance for pseudocapacitors, have been attracting extensive fundamental research and applications. Their unique surface chemistries, that is, hydrophilic groups terminated on the surface of MXenes after etching and delamination, enable plenty of opportunities for assembling into MXene building blocks. Particularly, assembling at liquid–liquid, liquid–solid, liquid–air, and solid–solid interfaces allows the efficient fabrication of various structures, including MXene surfactants, MXene heterostructures, MXene transparent films. Interfacial assembly of MXenes is of significance in unveiling more versatilities of MXenes as well as impacts on novel MXene-based architectures, based on which enhanced performance of devices is achieved. As such, this review focuses on the interfacial assembly of MXenes, explaining mechanisms behind various assembling and providing classical examples for corresponding interfacial assembling techniques. Applications of these as-assembled architectures are also discussed in brief. 6Analysis of the relationship between water level fluctuation and seismicity in the Three Gorges Reservoir(China)显示文摘The Three Gorges Reservoir is a good site for the further researches on reservoir induced seismicity due to decades' seismic monitoring. After the first water impounding in 2003, seismic activity becomes more frequent than that before water impoundment. In order to quantitatively study, the relationship between the water level fluctuation and earthquakes in TGR, we introduced statistical methods to attain the goal.First of all, we relocated the earthquakes in TGR region with double difference method and divided the earthquakes into 5 clusters with clustering analysis method. Secondly, to examine the impacts of water level fluctuation in different water filling stages on the seismic activity in the 5 clusters, a series of statistical analyses are applied. Pearson correlation results show that only the 175 m water level fluctuation has significantly positive impacts on the seismic activity in clusters Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅴ with correlation coefficients of 0.44, 0.38, 0.66 and 0.63. Cross-correlation analysis demonstrates that 0, 1, 0 and 0 month time delay separately for the clusters Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅴ exists. It illustrated the influences of the water loading and pore pressure diffusion on induced earthquakes. Cointegration tests and impulse response analysis denoted that the 175 m water level only had long term and significant effects just on the seismic events in the intersection region of the Fairy Mount Fault and Nine-brook Fault. One standard deviation shock to175 m water level increased the seismic activity in cluster Ⅴ for the first 3 months, and then the negative influence was shown. After 7 months, the negative impulse response becomes stable. 7Preparation and Characterization of Ultrafine ZrO_2 Powders from Solvent Extraction of Zr(Ⅳ) with Tri-n-butyl Phosphate in Kerosene from Nitric Acid Solutions显示文摘Zr(IV) was extracted by tri-n-butyl phosphate in kerosene from concentrated nitric acid solutions and the formation of the third phase during extraction was experimentally investigated. Zirconia powders were prepared by using the loaded organic phase as the bulk solution precipitated with aqueous ammonia or NaOH solution. The powder prepared was characterized with TEM, XRD,EDAX and TG-DTA. 12A novel mannose-binding lectin from Liparis nervosa with anti-fungal and anti-tumor activities显示文摘Plant lectins are carbohydrate-binding proteins with nonimmune origin,which can reversibly bind with carbohydrates,agglutinate cells,and precipitate polysaccharides and glycoconjugates.Plant lectins have attracted much attention for their anti-virus,anti-proliferation,and pro-apoptosis properties.Thus the exploration of new lectins has received special attention.Here we purified a mannose-binding lectin from the rhizomes of Liparis nervosa by ion exchange chromatography on DEAE-Sepharose,affinity chromatography on Mannose-Sepharose 4B,and gel filtration chromatography on Sephacryl S-100.The purified L.nervosa lectin(LNL)was identified to be a monomeric protein with a molecular mass of 13 kDa.LNL exhibited hemagglutinating activity towards rabbit erythrocytes,and its activity could be strongly inhibited by D-mannose,N-acetyl glucosamine and thyroglobulin.In vitro experiments showed that LNL exhibited a comparable anti-fungal activity against Piricularia oryzae(Cavara),Bipolaris maydis,Fusarium graminearum,and Sclerotium rolfsii,and anti-proliferation activity against tumor cells by inducing apoptosis.The full-length cDNA sequence of LNL is 715 bp in length and contains a 525 bp open reading frame(ORF)encoding a 110-residue mature protein.It was predicted to have three mannose-binding conserved motifs‘QXDXNXVXY’.The binding pattern of LNL was further revealed by homology modeling and molecular docking.We demonstrated that LNL is not only a potential therapeutic candidate against tumor but also a new anti-fungal agent.Na Jiang Yuqing Wang Jing Zhou Ruxiao Zheng Xiao Yuan Miaomiao Wu Jinku Bao Chuanfang Wu 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,10:1

19Perspectives on electrochemical nitrogen fixation catalyzed by two-dimensional MXenes显示文摘Ammonia is the most basic raw material in industrial and agricultural production.The current industrial production of ammonia relies on the Haber-Bosch process with high energy consumption.To overcome this shortcoming,the development of electrocatalytic ammonia synthesis under moderate conditions is considered as a potential alternative technology.The two-dimensional(2D)MXenes family has been proved promising as electrocatalysts,but from the currently available literature,it is hard to find a systematic review on MXenes-catalyzed ammonia synthesis.So in the present review,we summarize the key perspectives on that topic in recent years as well as outline,from a prospective view,strategies of catalyst design.We analyze in detail the methods for preparing high performance MXenes-based catalysts and the corresponding underlying mechanisms,and also discuss the criteria and potential challenges,expecting to provide inspiration for the development of efficient MXenes-based route to electrochemical ammonia fixation.Tiezhu Guo Di Zhou Chuanfang(John)Zhang 2022Materials Reports(Energy)2022,2,1:1
