Formation and evolution of the Chinese marine basins显示文摘There are plenty of petroleum resources in the Chinese marine basins, which will be the potential exploration regions of petroleum in the 21st century. The formation and evolution of the Chinese marine basins have mainly undergone two major tectonic epochs and five tectonic evolution stages. The first major tectonic epoch is the early Paleozoic plate divergence and drifting epoch during which the marine basins were formed, and the second one is the late Paleozoic plate convergence and collision epoch during which the pre-existent marine basins were superimposed and modified. The five tectonic evolution stages include: ① the drifting of micro-continental plates in Oceans and the formation of marine basins mainly filled with carbonate rocks during Proterozoic-Middle Carboniferous; ② the northward collage and convergence of continental plates and the development of the paralic sedimentary basins during Late Carboniferous-Middle Triassic; ③ the tectonically stabilized stage after the plate collage and the superimposition of lacustrine basins controlled by the inland subsidence during Late Triassic-Early Cretaceous; ④ the stage of the inland deformation and successive deep burial, uplifting, erosion or breakage of marine basins influenced by the plate tectonic activities of Neo-Tethys Ocean and the West Pacific developed in Late Cretaceous-Paleocene; ⑤ the stage of the foreland compression and basin-range coupling in the margin of the marine basins caused by the collision between India and Eurasia Plates and its long-distance effect since Neocene. The process of the tectonic evolution has controlled the petroleum geologic characteristics of Chinese marine basins, and a material foundation for the formation of oil and gas reservoirs has been built up via the formation of Paleozoic ma- rine basins, and the Mesozoic-Cenozoic tectonic superimposition and modification have controlled the key conditions of hydrocarbon accumulation and preservation. From the Late Proterozoic to the Early Paleozoic, the stratigraphic sequences of the deep-water shale and continental margin marine carbonate rocks in the ancient plate floating in the oceans have developed high-quality marine source rocks and reef-shoal reservoirs. In Late Paleozoic, the crustal plates converged and uplifted into continent and the paleouplifts in the intra-cratonic basins have become good reservoirs of hydrocarbon migration and accumulation, and paralic coal beds have formed regional cap rocks. The Mesozoic-Cenozoic tectonic stability has determined the preservation condition of the Paleozoic marine basins. The marine basins have Precambrian crystal basement, the tectonic activities are relatively stable and the basin modification is relatively faint, and the ancient reservoirs are fit for preservation, such as the Tarim Basin, Sichuan Basin and Ordos Basin. They are all potential regions for marine oil and gas to be explored. | JIA ChengZao LI BenLiang ZHANG XingYang LI ChuanXin | 2007 | Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,A01: | 15
Optimization of Stocking Density for the Sea Cucumber, Apostichopus japonicus Selenka, Under Feed-Supplement and Non-Feed-Supplement Regimes in Pond Culture显示文摘Optimal stocking densities were investigated for the sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus Selenka under feed-supplement and non-feed-supplement regimes in net enclosures for 333 d. Substantial weight loss occurred during the aestivation phase (AE). Decreased growth rates were also observed during the winter phase (WT). In contrast, sea cucumbers showed rapid growth during the spring (SP) and autumn (AU) phases. Feeding regimes considerably influenced the growth performance, i.e., sea cucumbers grew faster under feed-supplement regime than under non-feed-supplement regime (P < 0.05). The average survival rates of sea cucumbers under feed-supplement regime were higher than those under non-feed-supplement regime for both the autumn phase and spring phase, but the differences were only significant for the latter phase (P < 0.05). The fitted B-N curves showed that the optimal stocking densities, in terms of net production, were 22.3 ind. m-2 for feed-supplement regime and 14.1 ind. m-2 for non-feed-supplement regime. | QIN Chuanxin DONG Shuanglin TAN Fuyi TIAN Xiangli WANG Fang DONG Yunwei GAO Qinfeng | 2009 | Journal of Ocean University of China2009,8,3: | 10
Recent advances in spinel-type electrocatalysts for bifunctional oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions显示文摘The demand for efficient and environmentally-benign electrocatalysts that help availably harness the renewable energy resources is growing rapidly. In recent years, increasing insights into the design of water electrolysers, fuel cells, and metal–air batteries emerge in response to the need for developing sustainable energy carriers, in which the oxygen evolution reaction and the oxygen reduction reaction play key roles. However, both reactions suffer from sluggish kinetics that restricts the reactivity. Therefore, it is vital to probe into the structure of the catalysts to exploit high-performance bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts. Spinel-type catalysts are a class of materials with advantages of versatility, low toxicity, low expense, high abundance, flexible ion arrangement, and multivalence structure. In this review, we afford a basic overview of spinel-type materials and then introduce the relevant theoretical principles for electrocatalytic activity, following that we shed light on the structure–property relationship strategies for spinel-type catalysts including electronic structure, microstructure, phase and composition regulation, and coupling with electrically conductive supports. We elaborate the relationship between structure and property, in order to provide some insights into the design of spinel-type bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts. | Xiao-Meng Liu Xiaoyang Cui Kamran Dastafkan Hao-Fan Wang Cheng Tang Chuan Zhao Aibing Chen Chuanxin He Minghan Han Qiang Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2: | 7
Double-Blockchain Assisted Secure and Anonymous Data Aggregation for Fog-Enabled Smart Grid显示文摘As a future energy system, the smart grid is designed to improve the efficiency of traditional power systems while providing more stable and reliable services. However, this efficient and reliable service relies on collecting and analyzing users’electricity consumption data frequently, which induces various security and privacy threats. To address these challenges,we propose a double-blockchain assisted secure and anonymous data aggregation scheme for fog-enabled smart grid named DA-SADA.Specifically,we design a three-tier architecture-based data aggregation framework by integrating fog computing and the blockchain, which provides strong support for achieving efficient and secure data collection in smart grids.Subsequently,we develop a secure and anonymous data aggregation mechanism with low computational overhead by jointly leveraging the Paillier encryption, batch aggregation signature and anonymous authentication. In particular, the system achieves fine-grained data aggregation and provides effective support for power dispatching and price adjustment by the designed double-blockchain and two-level data aggregation. Finally, the superiority of the proposed scheme is illustrated by a series of security and computation cost analyses. | Siguang Chen Li Yang Chuanxin Zhao Vijayakumar Varadarajan Kun Wang | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,1: | 5

Effect of variety and drying method on the nutritive value of corn for growing pigs显示文摘Background:This experiment was conducted to determine the nutritive value of corn from the north of China for growing pigs. The experiment examined corn variety(LS1,LS2,LS3 and LS4)grown in one location, drying method(sun dried and artificially dried)and different drying temperatures.Corn harvested at 20-25%moisture was dried to about 12%moisture by sun drying and artificially drying at 80,100,or 120℃ in a fluidized bed dryer.Ninety-six barrows(average BW of 33.4 ± 2.7 kg)were housed in individual metabolism crates to facilitate separate collection of feces and urine.A five-day collection period followed a seven-day diet acclimation period. Results:The results indicated that variety significantly influenced(P<0.01)the 1,000 kernel weight of corn but not the bulk weight.Variety also influenced the available energy content(digestible energy of dry matter,P<0.01;metabolisable energy of dry matter,P<0.01)and digestibility of organic matter(P<0.01),as well as dry matter(P<0.01)and gross energy(GE)content(P<0.02).The drying method of corn significantly influenced the 1,000 kernel weight(P<0.01),bulk weight(P<0.01)and digestibility of ether extract(EE)(P<0.01).No effect of drying temperature on the digestibility of organic matter, dry matter(DM),crude protein(CP),neutral detergent fiber(NDF),acid detergent fiber(ADF)and gross energy was observed, but gelatinization(P<0.05)and test weight(P<0.01)decreased with an increase in temperature. Conclusions:Variety has a significant impact on the nutritive value of corn for growing pigs, and greater attention needs to be paid to these influences in the assignment of the nutritive value of corn given to growing pigs. | Quanfeng Li Meng Shi Chuanxin Shi Dewen Liu Xiangshu Piao Defa Li Changhua Lai | 2014 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2014,5,4: | 5
The solution and exsolution characteristics of natural gas components in water at high temperature and pressure and their geological meaning显示文摘The processes of solution in, and exsolution from, formation water influence the component content of natural gas by contrasting the relative contents of components before the natural gas dissolves in water and those after exsolving from water under different conditions of high temperatures and pressures. Compared with the composition of original natural gas, the relative content of methane and nitrogen increased after the natural gas dissolved in water. The increase of nitrogen content exceeds that of methane, but the content of ethane, propane, pentane etc reduced. At the same temperature and with pressure increasing the content of methane increased and that of heavier hydrocarbons reduced. At the same pressure the content of methane increased quickly from 90°C to 120°C, and the content of heavier hydrocarbons reduced. But at even higher temperatures, the increase of methane slowed down and the content of heavier hydrocarbons increased slightly. At the same temperature and different pressures, heavier hydrocarbons reduced much more with increasing carbon atom number, while with temperature increasing the content difference of heavier hydrocarbons reduced. Therefore, the influence of the solution and exsolution should be considered in the study of the migration and accumulation mechanism of natural gas. | Gao Gang Huang Zhilong Huang Baojia Yuan Jian Tong Chuanxin | 2012 | Petroleum Science2012,9,1: | 4
Sin1/mTORC2 regulate B cell growth and metabolism by activating mTORC1 and Myc显示文摘Proper control of B cell growth and metabolism is crucial for B-cell-mediated immunity, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain incompletely understood. In this study,Sin1,a key component of mTOR complex 2(mTORC2),specifically regulates B cell growth and metabolism.Genetic ablation of Sin1 in B cells reduces the cell size at either the transitional stage or upon antigen stimulation and severely impairs metabolism.Sin1 deficiency also severely impairs B-cell proliferation, antibody responses, and anti-viral immunity. At the molecular level,Sin1 controls the expression and stability of the c-Myc protein and maintains the activity of mTORC1 through the Akt-dependent inactivation of GSK3 and TSC1/2,respectively.Therefore,our study reveals a novel and specific role for Sin1 in coordinating the activation of mTORC2 and mTORC1 to control B cell growth and metabolism. | Man Li Adam S.Lazorchak Xinxing Ouyang Huihui Zhang Hongzhi Liu Omotooke A.Arojo Lichong Yan Jingsi Jin Yuheng Han Guojun Qu Yuhong Fu Xiaocao Xu Xiaobo Liu Wenqian Zhang Zhengfeng Yang Chuan Ruan Qijun Wang Dou Liu Chuanxin Huang Lu Lu Shibo Jiang Fubin Li Bing Su | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,9: | 4
Krüppel-like factor 8 overexpression is correlated with angiogenesis and poor prognosis in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To investigate Krüppel-like factor 8 (KLF8) expression in gastric cancer and its relationship with angiogenesis and prognosis of gastric cancer. METHODS:One hundred and fifty-four patients with gastric cancer who underwent successful curative resection were retrospectively enrolled in the study. Fifty tumor-adjacent healthy gastric tissues (≥ 5 cm from the tumor margin) obtained during the original resection were randomly selected for comparative analysis. In situ expression of KLF8 and CD34 proteins were examined by immunohistochemistry. The intratumoral microvessel density (MVD) was determined by manually counting the immunostained CD34-positive endothelial cells in three consecutive high-magnification fields (× 200). The relationship between differential KLF8 expression and MVD was assessed using Spearman's correlation coefficient test. χ2 test was performed to evaluate the effects of differential KLF8 expression on clinicopathologic factors. Kaplan-Meier and multivariate Cox survival analyses were used to assess the prognostic value of differential KLF8 expression in gastric cancer. RESULTS:Significantly higher levels of KLF8 protein were detected in gastric cancer tissues than in the adjacent non-cancerous tissues (54.5% vs 34.0%, P < 0.05). KLF8 expression was associated with tumor size (P < 0.001), local invasion (P = 0.005), regional lymph node metastasis (P = 0.029), distant metastasis (P = 0.023), and tumor node metastasis (TNM) stage (P = 0.002), as well as the MVD (r = 0.392, P < 0.001). Patients with KLF8 positive expression had poorer overall survival (P < 0.001) and cancer-specific survival (P < 0.001) than those with negative expression. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that KLF8 expression independently affected both overall and cancer-specific survival of gastric cancer patients (P = 0.035 and 0.042, respectively). CONCLUSION:KLF8 is closely associated with gastric tumor progression, angiogenesis and poor prognosis, suggesting it may represent a novel prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for gastric cancer. | Wen-Fei Wang Juan Li Lu-Tao Du Li-Li Wang Yong-Mei Yang Yi-Min Liu Hui Liu Xin Zhang Zhao-Gang Dong Gui-Xi Zheng ChuanXin Wang | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,27: | 4
Engineering electrochemical actuators with large bending strain based on 3D-structure titanium carbide MXene composites显示文摘Electrically responsive electrochemical actuators that contain a polymer electrolyte membrane laminated between two electrodes have attracted great attention due to their potential applications in smart electronics, wearable devices, and soft robotics. However, some challenges such as the achievement of large bending strain under low applied voltage and fast ion diffusion and accumulation still exist to be resolved. The key to the solution lies in the choice of electrode materials and the design of electrode structures. In this study,an engineering electrochemical actuator that presents large bending strain under low applied voltage based on MXene/polystyrene-MXene hybrid electrodes is developed. The developed electrochemical actuator based on the MXene/polystyrene-MXene 3D-structure is found to exhibit large bending strain(ca.1.18%),broad frequency bandwidth, good durability(90%retention after 10,000 cycles)and considerable Young’s modulus(ca.246 MPa).The high-performance actuation mainly stems from the excellent properties of MXene and 3D-structure of the electrode. The MXene provides excellent mechanical strength and high electrical conductivity which facilitate strong interaction and rapid electron transfer in electrodes. The 3D architectures formed by polystyrene microspheres generate unimpeded ion pathways for ionic short diffusion and fast injection. This study reveals that the 3D-structure hybrid electrodes play a crucial role in promoting the performance of such electrochemical actuators. | Tong Wang Tianjiao Wang Chuanxin Weng Luqi Liu Jun Zhao Zhong Zhang | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,7: | 4
Dominant mutations in CHK1 cause pronuclear fusion failure and zygote arrest that can be rescued by CHK1 inhibitor显示文摘Dear Editor,Infertility poses a major challenge to human reproductive health, affecting approximately 48 million women worldwide.1 Assisted reproductive techniques(ART),including in vitro fertilization(IVF)and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI),enable infertile women to have their biological embryos in vitro and further give birth to babies after embryo transfer. However, about 10%of all human embryos produced by ART are blocked in the early embryonic stage2 and approximately 2%fertilized oocytes derived from ART could not accomplish the first cell division.3 About one half of human infertility cases involve an underlying genetic factor, although the majority of genetic causes have remained elusive.4 In this study,we report that dominant mutations in CHK1 are responsible for pronuclear fusion failure and zygote arrest(PFF-ZA)in 7 out of 29 cases, likely through increasing the CHK1 activity.Importantly,PFF-ZA caused by these mutations could be effectively rescued by using the CHK1 inhibitor,PF477736. | Honghui Zhang Tailai Chen Keliang Wu Zhenzhen Hou Shigang Zhao Chuanxin Zhang Yuan Gao Ming Gao Zi-Jiang Chen Han Zhao | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,7: | 4
Thymosin Alpha-1 Inhibits Complete Freund’s Adjuvant-Induced Pain and Production of Microglia-Mediated Pro-inflammatory Cytokines in Spinal Cord显示文摘Activation of inflammatory responses regulates the transmission of pain pathways through an integrated network in the peripheral and central nervous systems. The immunopotentiator thymosin alpha-1(Tal)has recently been reported to have anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective functions in rodents. However, how Tα1 affects inflammatory pain remains unclear. In the present study, intraperitoneal injection of Tal attenuated complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA)-induced pain hypersensitivity, and decreased the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6)in inflamed skin and the spinal cord.We found that CFA-induced peripheral inflammation evoked strong microglial activation, but the effect was reversed by Tα1.Notably,Tα1 reversed the CFA-induced up-regulation of vesicular glutamate transporter(VGLUT)and down-regulated the vesicular γ-aminobutyric acid transporter(VGAT)in the spinal cord.Taken together, these results suggest that Tα1 plays a therapeutic role in inflammatory pain and in the modulation of microgliainduced pro-inflammatory cytokine production in addition to mediation of VGLUT and VGAT expression in the spinal cord. | Yunlong Xu Yanjun Jiang Lin Wang Jiahua Huang Junmao Wen Hang Lv Xiaoli Wu Chaofan Wan Chuanxin Yu Wenjie Zhang Jiaying Zhao Yinqi Zhou Yongjun Chen | 2019 | Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,4: | 4
A Multifunctional Anti-Proton Electrolyte for High-Rate and Super-Stable Aqueous Zn-Vanadium Oxide Battery显示文摘Large volumetric expansion of cathode hosts and sluggish transport kinetics in the cathode–electrolyte interface,as well as dendrite growth and hydrogen evolution at Zn anode side are considered as the system problems that cause the electrochemical failure of aqueous Zn-vanadium oxide battery. In this work,a multifunctional anti-proton electrolyte was proposed to synchronously solve all those issues.Theoretical and experimental studies confirm that PEG 400 additive can regulate the Zn^(2+) solvation structure and inhibit the ionization of free water molecules of the electrolyte. Then, smaller lattice expansion of vanadium oxide hosts and less associated by-product formation can be realized by using such electrolyte.Besides, such electrolyte is also beneficial to guide the uniform Zn deposition and suppress the side reaction of hydrogen evolution.Owing to the integrated synergetic modifica-tion,a high-rate and ultrastable aqueous Zn-V_(2)O_(3)/C battery can be constructed, which can remain a specific capacity of 222.8 m Ah g^(-1)after 6000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1),and 121.8 m Ah g^(-1) even after 18,000 cycles at 20 A g^(-1),respectively.Such“all-in-one”solution based on the electrolyte design provides a new strategy for developing high-performance aqueous Zn-ion battery. | Yangwu Chen Dingtao Ma Kefeng Ouyang Ming Yang Sicheng Shen Yanyi Wang Hongwei Mi Lingna Sun Chuanxin He Peixin Zhang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,9: | 3
Mechanisms of action of BCL6 during germinal center B cell development显示文摘The transcriptional repressor B cell lymphoma 6(BCL6) controls a large transcriptional network that is required for the formation and maintenance of germinal centers(GC). GC B cells represent the normal counterpart of most human B-cell lymphomas, which are often characterized by deregulated BCL6 expression or BCL6-mediated pathways. BCL6 suppresses gene transcription largely through recruitment of its co-repressors through its distinct repression domain. Understanding the precise biological roles of each repression domain in normal and malignant B cells is helpful for development of targeted inhibition of BCL6 functions that is emerging as the basis for design of anti-lymphoma therapies. This review focuses on recent progress in the molecular mechanisms of action of BCL6 in B cells and discusses remaining unresolved questions related to how these mechanisms are linked to normal and malignant B cell development. | HUANG ChuanXin MELNICK Ari | 2015 | Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,12: | 3
Unveiling the Effects of Interchain Hydrogen Bonds on Solution Gelation and Mechanical Properties of Diarylfluorene-Based Semiconductor Polymers显示文摘The intrinsically rigid and limited strain of most conjugated polymers has encouraged us to optimize the extensible properties of conjugated polymers.Herein, learning from the hydrogen bonds in glucose, which were facilitated to the toughness enhancement of cellulose,we introduced interchain hydrogen bonds to polydiarylfluorene by amide-containing side chains.Through tuning the copolymerization ratio,we systematically investigated their influence on the hierarchical condensed structures, rheology behavior, tensile performances, and optoelectronic properties of conjugated polymers.Compared to the reference copolymers with a low ratio of amide units, copolymers with 30%and 40%amide units present a feature of the shearthinning process that resembled the non-Newtonian fluid, which was enabled by the interchain dynamic hydrogen bonds.Besides,we developed a practical and universal method for measuring the intrinsic mechanical properties of conjugated polymers. We demonstrated the significant impact of hydrogen bonds in solution gelation, material crystallization, and thin film stretchability.Impressively, the breaking elongation for P4 was even up to~30%,which confirmed the partially enhanced film ductility and toughness due to the increased amide groups.Furthermore, polymer light-emitting devices(PLEDs)based on these copolymers presented comparable performances and stable electroluminescence(EL).Thin films of these copolymers also exhibited random laser emission with the threshold as low as 0.52μJ/cm^(2),suggesting the wide prospective application in the field of flexible optoelectronic devices. | Lubing Bai Yamin Han Chen Sun Xiang An Chuanxin Wei Wei Liu Man Xu Lili Sun Ning Sun Mengna Yu He Zhang Qi Wei Chunxiang Xu Yingguo Yang Tianshi Qin Linghai Xie Jinyi Lin Wei Huang | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 2
Salvianolic acid B dry powder inhaler for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis显示文摘Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)is a serious and fatal pulmonary inflammatory disease with an increasing incidenceworldwide. The drugs nintedanib and pirfenidone, are listed as conditionally recommended drugs in the“Evidence-Based Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis”.However, these two drugs have many adverse reactions in clinical application.Salvianolic acid B(Sal B),a water-soluble component of Salvia miltiorrhiza, could alleviate bleomycin-induced peroxidative stress damage, and prevent or delay the onset of IPF by regulating inflammatory factors and fibrotic cytokines during the disease’s progression. However,Sal B is poorly absorbed orally, and patient compliance is poor when administered intravenously. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find a new non-injection route of drug delivery. In this study,Sal B was used as model drug and l-leucine(LL)as excipient to prepare Sal B dry powder inhaler(Sal B-DPI)by spray drying method.Modern preparation evaluation methods were used to assess the quality of Sal B-DPI.Sal B-DPI is promising for the treatment of IPF,according to studies on pulmonary irritation evaluation,in vivo and in vitro pharmacodynamics, metabolomics, pharmacokinetics, and lung tissue distribution. | Peng Lu Jiawei Li Chuanxin Liu Jian Yang Hui Peng Zhifeng Xue Zhidong Liu | 2022 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2022,17,3: | 2
Plasmonic coupling-enhanced in situ photothermal nanoreactor with shape selective catalysis for C–C coupling reaction显示文摘Carbon-carbon(C–C)coupling reactions represent one of the most powerful tools for the synthesis of complex natural products, bioactive molecules developed as drugs and agrochemicals. In this work,a multifunctional nanoreactor for C–C coupling reaction was successfully fabricated via encapsulating the core-shell Cu@Ni nanocubes into ZIF-8(Cu@Ni@ZIF-8).In this nanoreactor,Ni shell of the core-shell Cu@Ni nanocubes was the catalytical active center, and Cu core was in situ heating source for the catalyst by absorbing the visible light. Moreover, benefiting from the plasmonic resonance effect between Cu@Ni nanocubes encapsulated in ZIF-8,the absorption range of nanoreactor was widened and the utilization rate of visible light was enhanced. Most importantly, the microporous structure of ZIF-8 provided shape-selective of reactant. This composite was used for the highly shape-selective and stable photocatalysed C–C coupling reaction of boric acid under visible light irradiation. After five cycles, the nanoreactor still remained high catalytical activity. This Cu@Ni@ZIF-8 nanoreactor opens a way for photocatalytic C–C coupling reactions with shape-selectivity. | Zhenxing Li Yixuan Gong Xin Zhang Yangyang Wen Jiasai Yao Mingliang Hu Miao He Jiahao Liu Rui Li Fuqiang Wang Chuanxin Zhang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,10: | 2
Neural computational modeling reveals a major role of corticospinal gating of central oscillations in the generation of essential tremor显示文摘Essential tremor, also referred to as familial tremor, is an autosomal dominant genetic disease and the most common movement disorder. It typically involves a postural and motor tremor of the hands, head or other part of the body. Essential tremor is driven by a central oscillation signal in the brain. However, the corticospinal mechanisms involved in the generation of essential tremor are unclear. Therefore, in this study, we used a neural computational model that includes both monosynaptic and multisynaptic corticospinal pathways interacting with a propriospinal neuronal network. A virtual arm model is driven by the central oscillation signal to simulate tremor activity behavior. Cortical descending commands are classified as alpha or gamma through monosynaptic or multisynaptic corticospinal pathways, which converge respectively on alpha or gamma motoneurons in the spinal cord. Several scenarios are evaluated based on the central oscillation signal passing down to the spinal motoneurons via each descending pathway. The simulated behaviors are compared with clinical essential tremor characteristics to identify the corticospinal pathways responsible for transmitting the central oscillation signal. A propriospinal neuron with strong cortical inhibition performs a gating function in the generation of essential tremor. Our results indicate that the propriospinal neuronal network is essential for relaying the central oscillation signal and the production of essential tremor. | Hong-en Qu Chuanxin M.Niu Si Li Man-zhao Hao Zi-xiang Hu Qing Xie Ning Lan | 2017 | Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,12: | 2
