1Seasonal Variations in Phytoplankton Community Structure in the Sanggou,Ailian,and Lidao Bays显示文摘The seasonal variations in phytoplankton community structure were investigated for the Sanggou Bay(SGB) and the adjacent Ailian Bay(ALB) and Lidao Bay(LDB) in Shandong Peninsula, eastern China. The species composition and cell abundance of phytoplankton in the bay waters in spring(April 2011), summer(August 2011), autumn(October 2011), and winter(January 2012) were examined using the Utermhl method. A total of 80 taxa of phytoplankton that belong to 39 genera of 3 phyla were identified. These included 64 species of 30 genera in the Phylum Bacillariophyta, 13 species of 8 genera in the Phylum Dinophyta, and 3 species of 1 genus in the Phylum Chrysophyta. During the four seasons, the number of phytoplankton species(43) was the highest in spring, followed by summer and autumn(40), and the lowest number of phytoplankton species(35) was found in winter. Diatoms, especially Paralia sulcata(Ehrenberg) Cleve and Coscinodiscus oculus-iridis Ehrenberg, were predominant in the phytoplankton community throughout the study period, whereas the dominance of dinoflagellate appeared in summer only. The maximum cell abundance of phytoplankton was detected in summer(average 8.08 × 103 cells L-1) whereas their minimum abundance was found in autumn(average 2.60 × 103 cells L-1). The phytoplankton abundance was generally higher in the outer bay than in the inner bay in spring and autumn. In summer, the phytoplankton cells were mainly concentrated in the south of inner SGB, with peak abundance observed along the western coast. In winter, the distribution of phytoplankton cells showed 3 patches, with peak abundance along the western coast as well. On seasonal average, the Shannon-Wiener diversity indices of phytoplankton community ranged from 1.17 to 1.78(autumn > summer > spring > winter), and the Pielou's evenness indices of phytoplankton ranged from 0.45 to 0.65(autumn > spring > summer > winter). According to the results of canonical correspondence analysis, phosphate level was the major factor that limited the occurrence of P. sulcata and C. oculus-iridis, whereas optimal temperature and low salinity were responsible for Prorocentrum blooms in summer. 2NIR light-induced tumor phototherapy using ICG delivery system based on platelet-membrane-camouflaged hollow bismuth selenide nanoparticles显示文摘Near-infrared(NIR)light-triggered photothermal therapy(PTT)is a promising treatment strategy for treating cancer.The combination of nanotechnology and NIR has been widely applied.However,the therapeutic efficacy of the drug-delivery system depends on their ability to avoid phagocytosis of endothelial system,cross the biological barriers,prolong circulation life,localize and rapidly release the therapeutic at target sites.In this work,we designed a platelet membrane(PM)-camouflaged hollow mesoporous bismuth selenide nanoparticles(BS NPs)loading with indocyanine green(ICG)(PM@BS-ICG NPs)to achieve the above advantages.PM-coating has active tumor-targe ting ability which could preve nt drug leakage and provide drug long circulation,causing drug delivery systems to accumulate in tumor sites effectively.Moreover,as a type of the photothermal sensitizers,BS NPs are used as the inner cores to improve ICG stability and are served as scaffolds to enhance the hardness of this drug delivery system.For one hand,the thermal vibration of BS NPs under NIR laser irradiation causes tumor inhibition through hyperthermia.For another hand,this hyperthermia process could damage PM and let ICG rapid release from PM@BS-ICG NPs.The in vitro and in vivo results showed that this biomimetic nano-drug delivery system exhibits obvious antitumor activity which has good application prospect.Kaili Ding Cuixia Zheng Lingling Sun Xinxin Liu Yanyan Yin Lei Wang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:5
3Processing,Quality,Safety,and Acceptance of Meat Analogue Products显示文摘Rapid global population growth has caused an increasing need for products containing protein.Meat products are the most common high-protein food source,but impact the environment,cause animal welfare issues,and raise public health concerns.Consumer health and food safety are paramount to the food industry.Both the scientists and food industry are actively seeking plant proteins to substitute for animal-sourced proteins.Plant proteins have a well-balanced amino acid composition,and exhibit great potential for replacing meat via the development of healthy,high-protein,low-saturated fat,cholesterol-free,and nutritionally similar meat-like products.Generally,meat analogue formulations are specially designed and processing conditions are optimized to obtain the texture and bite of real animal meat.This article focuses on plant-based meat analogues,and covers aspects regarding processing,products,quality,and nutritional and structural modifications.Product safety consciousness and consumer acceptance are also discussed.Challenges and perspectives for future research concerning nonmeat products are presented.Cuixia Sun Jiao Ge Jun He Renyou Gan Yapeng Fang 2021Engineering2021,7,5:4

7Rice Curled Its Leaves Either Adaxially or Abaxially to Combat Drought Stress显示文摘Leaf rolling(LR)is one of the defensive mechanisms that plants have developed against adverse environmental conditions.LR is a typical drought response,promoting drought resistance in various gramineae species,including wheat,maize,and rice.Rice cultivation faces the formidable challenge of water deprivation because of its high water requirements,which leads to drought-related symptoms in rice.LR is an important morphological characteristic that plays a key role in controlling water loss during water insufficiency,thereby regulating leaf area and stature,which are crucial agronomic traits determining yield criteria.Bulliform,sclerenchyma,mesophyll,and vascular bundles are the cells that engage in LR and commonly exhibit adaxial or abaxial types of rolling in rice.The specific genes linked to rolling,either adaxially or abaxially,are discussed here.In addition to the factors influencing LR,here is a short review of the morphological,physiological and molecular responses of this adaptation under drought stress.Moreover,this review highlights how LR combats the consequences of drought stress.The eco-physiological and molecular mechanisms underlying this morphological adaptation in rice should be further explored,as they might be useful in dealing with various degrees of drought tolerance.Ammara LATIF SUN Ying PU Cuixia Noman ALI 2023Rice science2023,30,5:1

12Stability of Fe-As composites formed with As(Ⅴ)and aged ferrihydrite显示文摘During the aging process,ferrihydrite was transformed into mineral mixtures composed of different proportions of ferrihydrite,goethite,lepidocrocite and hematite.Such a transformation may affect the fixed ability of arsenic.In this study,the stability of Fe-As composites formed with As(Ⅴ)and the minerals aged for 0,1,4,10 and 30 days of ferrihydrite were systematically examined,and the effects of molar of ratios Fe/As were also clarified using kinetic methods combined with multiple spectroscopic techniques.The results indicated that As(Ⅴ)was rapidly adsorbed on minerals during the initial polymerization process,which delayed both the ferrihydrite conversion and the hematite formation.When the Fe/As molar ratio was 1.875 and 5.66,the As(Ⅴ)adsorbed by ferrihydrite began to release after 6 hr and 12 hr,respectively.The corresponding release amounts of As(Ⅴ)were 0.55 g/L and 0.07 g/L,and the adsorption rates were 92.43%and 97.50%at 60 days,respectively.However,the As(Ⅴ)adsorbed by the transformation products aged for 30 days of ferrihydrite began to release after adsorbed 30 days.The corresponding release amounts of As(Ⅴ)were 0.25 g/L and 0.03 g/L,and the adsorption rates were 84.23%and 92.18%after adsorbed 60 days,for the Fe/As=1.875 and 5.66,respectively.Overall,the combination of As(Ⅴ)with ferrihydrite and aged products transformed from a thermodynamically metastable phase to a dynamically stable state within a certain duration.Moreover,the aging process of ferrihydrite reduced the sorption ability of arsenate by iron(hydr)oxide but enhanced the stability of the Fe-As composites.Zhonglan Yang Lingyu Bai Shiming Su Yanan Wang Cuixia Wu Xibai Zeng Benhua Sun 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2:0
