Construction of CdSe/ZnS quantum dot microarray in a microfluidic chip显示文摘Microarray technology has been proved to be greatly helpful for biomedical and biological diagnosis. And the evaluation of its biological applications lies in the detection sensitivity, which requires high intensity and stability of the signal. Recently, several nanomaterials, especially semiconductor nanomaterials, due to their excellent fluorescence properties, have been widely used to construct microarrays for biosensors. Here, we presented an approach for constructing CdSe/ZnS quantum dot (QD) microarray in microfluidic channels on a glass slide by photolithography. The conditions for immobilizing stable and uniform QD microarray on the glass slide were optimized. Several types of QD microarrays with different emission wavelengths and modified groups were constructed using silanization and lithography technology. Based on the fluorescence quenching effect of Cu2+ on QDs, the microfluidic chip with QD microarray was applied for the determination of Cu2+. 1 nmol/L Cu2+ could be detected by this method. | LIU HongWei JING YingYing YU Xu PANG DaiWen ZHANG ZhiLing | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,4: | 2

Measuring radial Young’s modulus of DNA by tapping mode AFM显示文摘Based on tapping mode AFM imaging, a method was demonstrated to evaluate compression elasticity of single double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) molecules in the force region. With images under ambient conditions, Young’s moduli of dsDNA in compression were calculated. Results demonstrated that Young’s moduli of dsDNA can be simply deduced according to the proposed model. The method can also be used to evaluate the compression elasticity of similar soft nanomaterials. | LIN Yi SHEN XinCheng WANG JingJing BAO Lei ZHANG ZhiLing PANG DaiWen | 2007 | Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,23: | 1

Electrocatalysis of Metalloporphyrins(Ⅷ)——Electrocatalytic Reduction of Molecular Oxygen with Water-Soluble Cobalt (Ⅱ) Tetrakis(4-Trimethyl Ammonium Phenyl) Porphyrin Catalyst显示文摘Reported here is the electrocatalytic reduction of molecular oxygen in the presence of water-soluble cobalt(Ⅱ) tetrakis(4-trimethyl ammonium phenyl) porphyrin (Co(Ⅱ)TTAPP) as catalyst in solutions of various pH values. The overpotential of molecular oxygen reduction is reduced by ca. 200-400 mV in acidic and neutral solutions compared with several decades of millivolts in alkaline solutions, indicating that Co(Ⅱ)TTAPP possesses much higher catalytic activity in acidic and neutral solutions than in alkaline. H2TTAPP in solutions of various pH exhibits no significant catalytic activity for oxygen reduction. The significant difference in the electrocatalytic activity of Co(Ⅱ)TTAPP from that of H2TTAPP for oxygen reduction indicates that the electrocatalytic activity of Co(Ⅱ)TTAPP should be attributed to the central cobalt atom (Co(Ⅱ)) coordinated by N4 internal ring in Co(Ⅱ)TTAPP. The total number of electrons involved in oxygen reduction electrocatalyzed by Co (Ⅱ)TTAPP is 2, and the product of | Wang Zongli, Zhang Hui and Pang Daiwen (Department of Chemistry, Wuhan University , Wuhan) | 1990 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities1990,6,2: | 0

Topography guiding the accelerated and persistently directional cell migration induced by vaccinia virus显示文摘The rapid transmission of vaccinia virus(VACV)in vivo is thought to be closely related to the cell migration induced by it.Cell migration involved in dynamic changes of cell-substrate adhesion and actin cytoskeleton organization, which can influence by the micro/nano-scale topographic structures that cells are naturally exposed to via contact guidance. However, migration behaviors of VACV-infected cells exposed to topographic cues are still unknown.Herein,we designed an open chip with microgrooved poly(dimethyl siloxane)(PDMS)substrate to explore the topography roles in VACV-induced cell migration.Differed from the random cell migration observed in traditional scratch assay on planar substrate,VACV-infected cells had a tendency to persistently migrate along the axis parallel to microgroove with increased velocity. Moreover, infected cells exhibited a dominant elongated protrusion aligned to the micro-grating axis compare to the shorter lamella extended in any direction on smooth substrate.Interestingly, the Golgi complex preferred to relocate behind the nucleus confined within the micro-grating axis in majority of infected migratory cells. The directional polarization of cells embodied in protrusion formation and Golgi reorientation was responsible for the directionally persistent migration behaviors induced by VACV on microgrooved substrate.Infected cells response to substrate topography, causing the actin-filled stretched protrusion containing numerous virions and accelerated movement is likely to facilitate direct and rapid spread of VACV.This work opens a window for us to understand the migration behaviors of infected cells in vivo, and also provides a cue for revealing the relationship between virus-induced cell migration and virus rapid spread. | Cheng Wang Ji Wang Dandan Fu Qiong Yan Daiwen Pang Zhiling Zhang | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,1: | 0

Rational Design of Capping Ligands of Quantum Dots for Biosensing显示文摘Quantum dots have been widely applied in biosensing due to their outstanding optical properties. The emissions of quantum dots are mainly determined by their composition and size,as described by the Brus’s equation.Somehow,in this case, their emissions are hardly regulated reversibly and responsively, which are unsuitable for biosensing and biodetection. In the last decade, capping ligands have been used for designing biosensors because of their responsive regulation on the photoluminescence of quantum dots. Here,we first summarize the advances in characterization and calculation specific for ligands, which have helped to provide insights into the photoluminescence process and energy band theory of quantum dots.We then review two ways of ligand design that influence the optical properties of quantum dots:affecting the process of photoluminescence,or the orbital/electronic structure. In the latter case, the atoms on both the ligand and the surface of the quantum dot interact to affect the energy band structure of the quantum dot core.Examples are presented of how these quantum dots that possess responsive properties due to the design of the ligands have been applied to sensing. With further exploration,we hope to see advances in the fundamental understanding of the energy band structures and practical applications of these quantum dots. | XU Xinran LIU An-an PANG Daiwen | 2024 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2024,40,2: | 0
