| 1 | Ultra-broadband metamaterial absorbers from long to very long infrared regime显示文摘Broadband metamaterials absorbers with high absorption,ultrathin thickness and easy configurations are in great demand for many potential applications.In this paper,we first analyse the coupling resonances in a Ti/Ge/Ti three-layer absorber,which can realise broadband absorption from 8 to 12 pm.Then we experimentally demonstrate two types of absorbers based on the Ti/Ge/Si_(3)N_(4)/Ti configuration.By taking advantage of coupling surface plasmon resonances and intrinsic absorption of lossy material Si_(3)N_(4),the average absorptions of two types of absorbers achieve almost 95%from 8 to 14μm(experiment result:78%from 6.5 to 13.5μm).In order to expand the absorption bandwidth,we further propose two Ti/Si/SiO_(2)/Ti absorbers which can absorb 92%and 87%of ultra-broadband light in the 14-30μm and 8-30μm spectral range,respectively.Our findings establish general and systematic strategies for guiding the design of metamaterial absorbers with excellent broadband absorption and pave the way for enhancing the optical performance in applications of infrared thermal emitters,imaging and photodetectors. | Yu Zhou Zheng Qin Zhongzhu Liang Dejia Meng Haiyang Xu David R.Smith Yichun Liu | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,8: | 3 |
| 2 | Numerical analysis of the effects of downhole dynamic conditions on formation testing while drilling显示文摘Formation testing while drilling is an innovative technique that is replacing conventional pressure testing in which the fluid sampling is conducted in a relatively short time following the drilling. At this time, mud invasion has just started, mudcake has not formed entirely and the formation pressure is not stable. Therefore, it is important to study the influence of the downhole dynamic environment on pressure testing and fluid sampling. This paper applies an oil-water two phase finite element model to study the influence of mudcake quality and mud filtrate invasion on supercharge pressure, pretest and sampling in the reservoirs of different permeability. However, the study is only for the cases with water based mud in the wellbore. The results illustrate that the mudcake quality has a significant influence on the supercharge pressure and fluid sampling, while the level of mud filtrate invasion has a strong impact on pressure testing and sampling. In addition, in-situ formation pressure testing is more difficult in low permeability reservoirs as the mud filtrate invasion is deeper and therefore degrades the quality of fluid sampling. | 3 | Deoxynivalenol accumulation and detoxification in cereals and its potential role in wheat-Fusarium graminearum interactions显示文摘Deoxynivalenol(DON)is a prominent mycotoxin showing significant accumulation in cereal plants during infection by the phytopathogen Fusarium graminearum.It is a virulence factor that is important in the spread of F.graminearum within cereal heads,and it causes serious yield losses and significant contamination of cereal grains.In recent decades,genetic and genomic studies have facilitated the characterization of the molecular pathways of DON biosynthesis in F.graminearum and the environmental factors that influence DON accumulation.In addition,diverse scab resistance traits related to the repression of DON accumulation in plants have been identified,and experimental studies of wheat–pathogen interactions have contributed to understanding detoxification mechanisms in host plants.The present review illustrates and summarizes the molecular networks of DON mycotoxin production in F.graminearum and the methods of DON detoxification in plants based on the current literature,which provides molecular targets for crop improvement programs.This review also comprehensively discusses recent advances and challenges related to genetic engineering-mediated cultivar improvements to strengthen scab resistance.Furthermore,ongoing advancements in genetic engineering will enable the application of these molecular targets to develop more scab-resistant wheat cultivars with DON detoxification traits. | Kun Luo Jiao Guo Dejia He Guangwei Li Thérèse Ouellet | 2023 | aBIOTECH2023,4,2: | 2 |
| 4 | Transparent flexible ZnO/MWCNTs/PBMA ternary nanocomposite film with enhanced mechanical properties显示文摘Functional organic-inorganic nanocomposites with high transparency show significant potential application in many fields.However, it is still a great challenge to prepare flexible transparent nanocomposites due to the intrinsic stiffness of the nanoparticles and the poor interaction between nanoparticles and organic matrices. In this work, a transparent ternary nanocomposite film with enhanced mechanical performance is fabricated by two-steps. First, the transparent ternary ZnO/MWCNTs/n-butyl methacrylate(BMA) nanodispersion is prepared by mixing the ZnO/BMA and MWCNTs/BMA dispersions directly. Then, the ternary nanocoposites film is fabricated via in-situ bulk polymerization of the above nanodispersions. As a result, the tensile strength of the ZnO/MWCNTs/poly-n-butyl methacrylate(PBMA) ternary film is enhanced by 42% and the elongation at break is three times that of ZnO/PBMA nanocomposite. The hardness of the film increases from 5B to 1H with 40 wt% ZnO. These results indicate that ZnO and MWCNTs can improve the mechanical properties of the composite significantly. Importantly, the ternary nanocomposite film still remains high transparency and exhibit excellent UV-shielding performance. | 17 | A Mortality Risk Assessment Approach on ICU Patients Clinical Medication Events Using Deep Learning显示文摘ICU patients are vulnerable to medications,especially infusion medications,and the rate and dosage of infusion drugs may worsen the condition.The mortality prediction model can monitor the real-time response of patients to drug treatment,evaluate doctors’treatment plans to avoid severe situations such as inverse Drug-Drug Interactions(DDI),and facilitate the timely intervention and adjustment of doctor’s treatment plan.The treatment process of patients usually has a time-sequence relation(which usually has the missing data problem)in patients’treatment history.The state-of-the-art method to model such time-sequence is to use Recurrent Neural Network(RNN).However,sometimes,patients’treatment can last for a long period of time,which RNN may not fit for modelling long time sequence data.Therefore,we propose to use the heterogeneous medication events driven LSTM to predict the outcome of the patient,and the Natural Language Processing and Gaussian Process(GP),which can handle noisy,incomplete,sparse,heterogeneous and unevenly sampled patients’medication records.In our work,we emphasize the semantic meaning of each medication event and the sequence of the medication events on patients,while also handling the missing value problem using kernel-based Gaussian process.We compare the performance of LSTM and Phased-LSTM on modelling the outcome of patients’treatment and data imputation using kernel-based Gaussian process and conduct an empirical study on different data imputation approaches. | Dejia Shi Hanzhong Zheng | 2021 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,7: | 0 |
| 18 | Influence of texture distribution in magnesium welds on their non-uniform mechanical behavior:A CPFEM study显示文摘Recent studies indicate that the texture distribution in friction stir welded(FSW)Mg alloys can be tailored and hence improve the joint performance.In this work,a crystal plasticity finite element modeling(CPFEM)was performed to understand the effects of texture distribution in stir zone(SZ)on the nonuniform plastic deformation and fracture localization.In total,six kinds of observed or purposely tilted texture distributions were modelled.The'concave-convex'appearance,as commonly observed in the tensile sample,was successfully simulated.It reveals that the mirror-symmetrical distribution of basal planes in the region of easy to activate basal slip(EABS)determined the'concave-convex'appearance in SZ-center.The asymmetrical appearance exchanged on plane A and plane B when the directions of basal planes were switched in the two EABS regions.Furthermore,the asymmetrical feature of plastic deformation was changed with varying the texture distribution in SZ.The'embossed'feature became more obvious in SZ-center first,and then gradually weakened with the c-axis rotated away from the weld plate plane.Severe necking was successfully simulated in SZ-center of FSW-H joint and in SZ-side of FSW-L joint.That might determine the observed fracture morphology.We believe that this simulation study is helpful for further improving the performance of FSW Mg joints. | Weijie Ren Dejia Liu Qing Liu Renlong Xin | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,11: | 0 |

| 20 | AMMONIA DISPERSION FROM MULTI-FLOOR VERSUS STANDARD SINGLE-FLOOR PIG PRODUCTION FACILITIES BASED ON COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS SIMULATIONS显示文摘Multi-floor buildings for raising pigs have recently attracted widespread attention as an emerging form of intensive livestock production especially in eastern China,due to the fact that they can feed a much larger number of animals per unit area of land and thus alleviate the shortage of land available for standard single-floor pig production facilities.However,this more intensive kind of pig building will pose new challenges to the local environment in terms of pollutant dispersion.To compare the dispersion air pollutants(ammonia as a representative)emitted from multi-versus single-floor pig buildings,ammonia dispersion distance and concentration gradients were investigated through three-dimensional simulations based on computational fluid dynamics.The validation of an isolated cubic model was made to ensure the simulation method was effective.The effects of wind direction,wind speed and emission source concentration at 1.5 m(approximate human inhalation height)during summer were investigated.The results showed that the ammonia dispersion distance of the multi-floor pig building was far greater than that of the single-floor building on a plane of Z=1.5 m.When the wind direction was 67.5°,the wind speed was 2 m·s^(−1) and the emission source concentration was 20 ppmv,the dispersion distance of the multi-floor pig building could reach 1380 m.Meanwhile,the ammonia could accumulate in the yard to 7.68 ppmv.Therefore,future site selection,wind speed and source concentration need to be given serious consideration.Based on the simulation used in this study with source concentration is 20 ppmv,the multi-floor pig buildings should be located 1.4 km away from residential areas to avoid affecting residents.The results of this study should guidance for any future development of multi-floor pig buildings. | Yicong XIN Li RONG Gunther SCHAUBERGER Dejia LIU Xiusong LI Zhihua YANG Songming ZHU Dezhao LIU | 2023 | Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2023,10,3: | 0 |
