| 1 | Ankylosing spondylitis: etiology, pathogenesis, and treatments显示文摘Ankylosing spondylitis(AS), a common type of spondyloarthropathy, is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that mainly affects spine joints, causing severe, chronic pain;additionally, in more advanced cases, it can cause spine fusion. Significant progress in its pathophysiology and treatment has been achieved in the last decade. Immune cells and innate cytokines have been suggested to be crucial in the pathogenesis of AS, especially human leukocyte antigen(HLA)?B27 and the interleukin?23/17 axis.However, the pathogenesis of AS remains unclear. The current study reviewed the etiology and pathogenesis of AS, including genome-wide association studies and cytokine pathways. | 4 | Effects of Tempering Temperature and Mo/Ni on Microstructures and Properties of Lath Martensitic Wear-Resistant Steels显示文摘The tempering behavior was experimentally studied in lath martensitic wear-resistant steels with various Mo/Ni contents after tempering at different temperatures from 200to 600℃.It is shown that a good combination of hardness(HV)(420-450)and-20℃impact toughness(38-70J)can be obtained after quenching and tempering at 200-250 ℃.The microstructure at this temperature is lath structure with rod-like and/or flake-likeε-carbide with about 10nm in width and 100nm in length in the matrix,and the fracture mechanism is quasi-cleavage fracture combining with ductile fracture.Tempering at temperature from 300to 400℃results in the primary quasi-cleavagefracture due to the carbide transformation from resolved retained austenite and impurity segregation between laths or blocks.However,when the tempering temperature is higher than 500℃,the hardness(HV)is lower than 330 and the fracture mechanism changes to ductile fracture due to the spheroidization and coarsening of cementite.Additions of Mo and Ni have no significant effects on the carbides morphologies at low tempering temperatures,but improve the resistance to softening and embrittling for steels when tempered at above 350℃. | CAO Yi WANG Zhao-dong KANG Jian WU Di WANG Guo-dong | 2013 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2013,20,4: | 13 |
| 5 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 6 | Contribution and underlying mechanisms of CXCR4 overexpression in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus显示文摘Aberrant expression of CXCR4 has been indicated to play a role in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),but the mechanism of CXCR4 dysregulation in SLE is unclear.This study is aimed to explore the clinical significance and possible mechanisms of abnormal CXCR4 expression on B cells from patients with untreated SLE.Expression of CXCR4 on peripheral B cells was determined by flow cytometry and western blotting.Freshly isolated B cells were cultured with exogenous interleukin 21(IL-21)in the presence or absence of CD40 ligand(CD40L)plus anti-IgM antibody(aIgM),and changes in CXCR4 expression were detected.Involvement of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase(PI3K)/Akt and Janus kinase/Signal transducer and activator of transcription(JAK/STAT)signaling pathways was assessed by adding blocking agents Ly294002 and AG490.Since CD63 is reported to mediate endosomal recruitment of CXCR4 and BCL6 is capable of silencing CD63 gene transcription,we also measured BCL6 and CD63 gene transcription with real-time PCR.It was shown that CXCR4 expression on B cells was significantly upregulated in SLE patients,especially in those with lupus nephritis,and was positively correlated with SLE Disease Activity Index scores and negatively with the serum complement 3 levels(Po0.05).Downregulation of CXCR4 by IL-21 was intact.In contrast,a similar effect of aIgM plus CD40L in downregulating CXCR4 expression was defective in SLE patients but was restored by co-stimulation with IL-21 in vitro.Both Ly294002 and AG490 promoted downregulation of surface CXCR4 expression on B cells from SLE patients(P=0.078 and P=0.064).Furthermore,B cells from SLE patients exhibited diminished CD63 mRNA and enhanced BCL6 mRNA expression(both Po0.05).To sum up,CXCR4 was overexpressed on SLE B cells,positively correlating with disease activity and kidney involvement.Overactivation of the PI3K/Akt and JAK/STAT pathways as well as defective CD63 synthesis may contribute to CXCR4 dysregulation in SLE. | Li-dan Zhao Di Liang Xiang-ni Wu Yang Li Jing-wen Niu Chen Zhou Li Wang Hua Chen Wen-jie Zheng Yun-yun Fei Fu-lin Tang Yong-zhe Li Feng-chun Zhang Wei He Xue-tao Cao Xuan Zhang | 2017 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,10: | 10 |

| 10 | Receptome profiling identifies KREMEN1 and ASGR1 as alternative functional receptors of SARS-CoV-2显示文摘Host cellular receptors play key roles in the determination of virus tropism and pathogenesis.However,little is known about SARS-CoV-2 host receptors with the exception of ACE2.Furthermore,ACE2 alone cannot explain the multi-organ tropism of SARS-CoV-2 nor the clinical differences between SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV,suggesting the involvement of other receptor(s).Here,we performed genomic receptor profiling to screen 5054 human membrane proteins individually for interaction with the SARS-CoV-2 capsid spike(S)protein.Twelve proteins,including ACE2,ASGR1,and KREMEN1,were identified with diverse S-binding affinities and patterns.ASGR1 or KREMEN1 is sufficient for the entry of SARS-CoV-2 but not SARS-CoV in vitro and in vivo.SARS-CoV-2 utilizes distinct ACE2/ASGR1/KREMEN1(ASK)receptor combinations to enter different cell types,and the expression of ASK together displays a markedly stronger correlation with virus susceptibility than that of any individual receptor at both the cell and tissue levels.The cocktail of ASK-related neutralizing antibodies provides the most substantial blockage of SARS-CoV-2 infection in human lung organoids when compared to individual antibodies.Our study revealed an interacting host receptome of SARS-CoV-2,and identified ASGR1 and KREMEN1 as alternative functional receptors that play essential roles in ACE2-independent virus entry,providing insight into SARS-CoV-2 tropism and pathogenesis,as well as a community resource and potential therapeutic strategies for further COVID-19 investigations. | Yunqing Gu Jun Cao Xinyu Zhang Hai Gao Yuyan Wang Jia Wang Juan He Xiaoyi Jiang Jinlan Zhang Guanghui Shen Jie Yang Xichen Zheng Gaowei Hu Yuanfei Zhu Shujuan Du Yunkai Zhu Rong Zhang Jianqing Xu Fei Lan Di Qu Guoliang Xu Yun Zhao Dong Gao Youhua Xie Min Luo Zhigang Lu | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,1: | 8 |

| 12 | Fractal and microscopic quantitative characterization of unclassified tailings flocs显示文摘A series of laboratory investigations are conducted to analyze the effect of flocculant type on the spatial morphology and microstructural characteristics of flocs during the flocculation and settling of tailings.Four flocculant types(i.e.,ZYZ,JYC-2,ZYD,and JYC-1)are considered in this study.The fractal characteristics and internal structures of tailings flocs with different flocculant types and settlement heights are analyzed by conducting scanning electron microscopy and X-ray micro-computed tomography scanning experiments based on the fractal theory.Results show that unclassified tailings flocs are irregular clusters with fractal characteristics,and the flocculation effect of the four flocculant types has the following trend:ZYZ>JYC-2>ZYD>JYC-1.The size and average grayscale value of tailings flocs decrease with the increase in settlement height.The average grayscale values at the top and bottom are 144 and 103,respectively.The settlement height remarkably affects the pore distribution pattern,as reflected in the constructed three-dimensional pore model of tailings flocs.The top part of flocs has relatively good penetration,whereas the bottom part of flocs has mostly dispersed pores.The number of pores increases exponentially with the increase in settlement height.By contrast,the size of pores initially increases and subsequently decreases with the increase in settlement height. | Di Zheng Wei-dong Song Yu-ye Tan Shuai Cao Zi-long Yang Li-juan Sun | 2021 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2021,28,9: | 8 |
| 13 | Focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 regulates bone homeostasis in mice显示文摘Our recent studies demonstrate that the focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 is critical for chondrogenesis and early skeletal development. Here, we show that deleting Kindlin-2 from osteoblasts using the 2.3-kb mouse Col1 a1-Cre transgene minimally impacts bone mass in mice, but deleting Kindlin-2 using the 10-kb mouse Dmp1-Cre transgene, which targets osteocytes and mature osteoblasts, results in striking osteopenia in mice. Kindlin-2 loss reduces the osteoblastic population but increases the osteoclastic and adipocytic populations in the bone microenvironment. Kindlin-2 loss upregulates sclerostin in osteocytes,downregulates β-catenin in osteoblasts, and inhibits osteoblast formation and differentiation in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation ofβ-catenin in the mutant cells reverses the osteopenia induced by Kindlin-2 deficiency. Kindlin-2 loss additionally increases the expression of RANKL in osteocytes and increases osteoclast formation and bone resorption. Kindlin-2 deletion in osteocytes promotes osteoclast formation in osteocyte/bone marrow monocyte cocultures, which is significantly blocked by an anti-RANKLneutralizing antibody. | 18 | The artemisinin analog SM934 alleviates dry eye disease in rodent models by regulating TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling显示文摘Dry eye disease(DED)is a multifactorial disorder of the tears and ocular surface characterized by manifestations of dryness and irritation.Although the pathogenesis is not fully illuminated,it is recognized that inflammation has a prominent role in the development and deterioration of DED.β-aminoarteether maleate(SM934)is a water-soluble artemisinin derivative with antiinflammatory and immunosuppressive activities.In this study,we established scopolamine hydrobromide(SCOP)-induced rodent model as well as benzalkonium chloride(BAC)-induced rat model to investigate the therapeutic potential of SM934 for DED.We showed that topical application of SM934(0.1%,0.5%)significantly increased tear secretion,maintained the number of conjunctival goblet cells,reduced corneal damage,and decreased the levels of inflammatory mediators(TNF-α,IL-6,IL-10,or IL-1β)in conjunctiva in SCOP-induced and BAC-induced DED models.Moreover,SM934 treatment reduced the accumulation of TLR4-expressing macrophages in conjunctiva,and suppressed the expression of inflammasome components,i.e.,myeloid differentiation factor88(MyD88),Nod-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3),apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing CARD(ASC),and cleaved caspase 1.In LPS-treated RAW 264.7 cells,we demonstrated that pretreatment with SM934(10μM)impeded the upregulation of TLR4 and downstream NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling proteins.Collectively,artemisinin analog SM934 exerts therapeutic benefits on DED by simultaneously reserving the structural integrity of ocular surface and preventing the corneal and conjunctival inflammation,suggested a further application of SM934 in ophthalmic therapy,especially for DED. | Fang-ming Yang Di Fan Xiao-qian Yang Feng-hua Zhu Mei-juan Shao Qian Li Yu-ting Liu Ze-min Lin Shi-qi Cao Wei Tang Shi-jun He Jian-ping Zuo | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,4: | 7 |
| 19 | Rhizosheath formation and involvement in foxtail millet(Setaria italica) root growth under drought stress显示文摘The rhizosheath, a layer of soil particles that adheres firmly to the root surface by a combination of root hairs and mucilage, may improve tolerance to drought stress. Setaria italica(L.) P. Beauv.(foxtail millet), a member of the Poaceae family, is an important food and fodder crop in arid regions and forms a larger rhizosheath under drought conditions. Rhizosheath formation under drought conditions has been studied, but the regulation of root hair growth and rhizosheath size in response to soil moisture remains unclear. To address this question, in this study we monitored root hair growth and rhizosheath development in response to a gradual decline in soil moisture. Here, we determined that a soil moisture level of 10%–14%(w/w)stimulated greater rhizosheath production compared to other soil moisture levels. | 20 | History of study,updated checklist,distribution and key of scorpions (Arachnida:Scorpiones) from China显示文摘This review describes the history of taxonomic research on scorpions and provides an updated checklist and key of the scorpions currently known in China. This checklist is based on a thorough review of the extant literatures on scorpion species whose presence has been confirmed in China through field expeditions and examination of scorpion collections, excepting a few members that have no clear distribution or are currently in doubt. Totally, the scorpion fauna of China consists of 53 species and subspecies belonging to 12 genera crossing five families, with 33 species(62.3%) and one genus being recorded as endemic.
