3针对亚洲男性前列腺疾病及特征的概观显示文摘本文综述了在亚洲男性中良性前列腺增生症、前列腺癌及慢性前列腺炎等三种常见前列腺疾病的特征。与西方男性相比,亚洲男性在前列腺疾病方面有着独特的特征。通过总结这些疾病的流行病学,症状学及诊断和治疗,我们发现亚洲男性前列腺癌的发病率低于西方人,但是良性前列腺增生症和慢性前列腺炎的发病率与西方人相似。患有慢性前列腺炎的亚洲男性,相比于西方男性,通常表现为较少的疾病位点,但是更容易出现排尿时,非性高潮后的疼痛感。前列腺特异抗原(PSA)作为一种前列腺癌诊断的生物标记物,在东西方均被广泛应用。尽管亚洲人PSA的基础水平较西方人低,但是目前使用的诊断闽值仍是以西方人为标准制定所得。在回顾这些前列腺疾病可用的治疗方法之后,我们没有在亚洲男性和西方男性间找到根本的差异。再者,基于病人的个体需要选择最适当的治疗方法仍是亚洲泌尿科医生所面临的挑战。在考虑针对亚洲男性前列腺疾病的特点之后,我们希望本文为针对亚洲男性前列腺疾病诊疗方案的发展提供信息。Shu-Jie Xia Di Cui Qi Jiang 2012Asian Journal of Andrology2012,14,3:22
4Characteristics of elemental carbon and organic carbon in PM_(10) during spring and autumn in Chongqing,China显示文摘PM10 (particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 10 m) samples were collected simultaneously at nine urban sites and one urbanbackground site during two intensive observation campaigns in 2006. Concentrations of elemental carbon (EC) and organic carbon (OC) in PM10were analyzed using an element analyzer. The characteristics regarding spatial and seasonal distribution patterns of OC and EC concentrations andtheir contributions to PM10 mass, as well as correlation between OC and EC, were investigated in detail. The average OC and EC concentrationsfor urban sites were 57.5 ± 20.8 and 8.3 ± 3.9 g/m3, respectively, both being around three times higher than those for urban background site. As awhole, EC concentrations did not show distinct seasonal variations, though OC concentrations were generally higher in autumn than in spring. Forurban sites, total carbonaceous aerosol (TCA) accounted for 33.2% in spring and 35.0% in autumn of PM10 mass. The OC and EC concentrationswere found significantly correlated to each other both in spring and in autumn, implying the existence of similar emission sources such as coalcombustion. The OC/EC ratios generally exceeded 2.0, indicating the presence of secondary organic carbon (SOC), whose estimated concentrationfor urban Chongqing was 26.7 and 39.4 g/m3, accounting for 48.9 and 61.9% of the total OC observed in the samples, in spring and in autumn,respectively.Di Ye Qi Zhao Changtan Jiang Jun Chen Xiaoxing Meng 2007China Particuology2007,5,4:17

6Commissioning progress of the FAST显示文摘The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST) was completed with its main structure installed on September 25, 2016, after which it entered the commissioning phase. This paper aims to introduce the commissioning progress of the FAST over the past two years. To improve its operational reliability and ensure effective observation time, FAST has been equipped with a real-time information system for the active reflector system and hierarchical commissioning scheme for the feed support system, which ultimately achieves safe operation of the two systems. For meeting the high-performance indices, a highprecision measurement system was set up based on the effective control methods that were implemented for the active reflector system and feed support system. Since the commissioning of the FAST, a low-frequency ultra-wideband receiver and 19-beam1.05-1.45 GHz receiver have been mainly used. Telescope efficiency, pointing accuracy, and system noise temperature were completely tested and ultimately achieved the acceptance indices of the telescope. The FAST has been in the process of national acceptance preparations and has begun to search for pulsars. 7Crystal structure of the swine-origin A (H1N1)- 2009 influenza A virus hemagglutinin (HA) reveals similar antigenicity to that of the 1918 pandemic virus显示文摘Influenza virus is the causative agent of the seasonal and occasional pandemic flu.The current H1N1 influenza pandemic,announced by the WHO in June 2009,is highly contagious and responsible for global economic losses and fatalities.Although the H1N1 gene segments have three origins in terms of host species,the virus has been named swine-origin influenza virus(S-OIV)due to a predominant swine origin.2009 S-OIV has been shown to highly resemble the 1918 pandemic virus in many aspects.Hemagglutinin is responsible for the host range and receptor binding of the virus and is therefore a primary indicator for the potential of infection.Primary sequence analysis of the 2009 S-OIV hemagglutinin(HA)reveals its closest relationship to that of the 1918 pandemic influenza virus,however,analysis at the structural level is necessary to critically assess the functional significance.In this report,we report the crystal structure of soluble hemagglutinin H1(09H1)at 2.9Å,illustrating that the 09H1 is very similar to the 1918 pandemic HA(18H1)in overall structure and the structural modules,including the five defined antiboby(Ab)-binding epitopes.Our results provide an explanation as to why sera from the survivors of the 1918 pandemics can neutralize the 2009 S-OIV,and people born around the 1918 are resistant to the current pandemic,yet younger generations are more susceptible to the 2009 pandemic.Wei Zhang Jianxun Qi Yi Shi Qing Li Feng Gao Yeping Sun Xishan Lu Qiong Lu Christopher J.Vavricka Di Liu Jinghua Yan George F.Gao 2010Protein & Cell2010,1,5:10
8Rebalancing of the gut flora and microbial metabolism is responsible for the anti-arthritis effect of kaempferol显示文摘Kaempferol is a natural flavonol that possesses various pharmacological activities,including anti-arthritis effects,yet the underlying mechanisms remain controversial.To evaluate the anti-arthritis efficacy and the underlying mechanisms of kaempferol,collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)mice were treated with kaempferol intragastrically(200 mg·kg^−1·d^−1)and intraperitoneally(20 mg·kg^−1·d^−1).Pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies showed that the oral administration of kaempferol produced distinct anti-arthritis effects in model mice with arthritis in terms of the spleen index,arthritis index,paw thickness,and inflammatory factors;the bioavailability(1.5%,relative to that of the intraperitoneal injection)and circulatory exposure of kaempferol(Cmax=0.23±0.06 ng/mL)and its primary metabolite kaempferol-3-O-glucuronide(Cmax=233.29±89.64 ng/mL)were rather low.In contrast,the intraperitoneal injection of kaempferol caused marginal anti-arthritis effects,although it achieved a much higher in vivo exposure.The much higher kaempferol content in the gut implicated a potential mechanism involved in the gut.Analysis of 16S ribosomal RNA revealed that CIA caused imbalance of 14 types of bacteria at the family level,whereas kaempferol largely rebalanced the intestinal microbiota in CIA mice.A metabolomics study showed that kaempferol treatment significantly reversed the perturbation of metabolites involved in energy production and the tryptophan,fatty acid and secondary bile acid metabolisms in the gut contents of the CIA mice.In conclusion,we demonstrate for the first time that the high level of kaempferol in the gut regulates the intestinal flora and microbiotic metabolism,which are potentially responsible for the anti-arthritis activities of kaempferol.Li-xiang Aa Fei Fei Qi Qi Run-bin Sun Sheng-hua Gu Zi-zhen Di Ji-ye Aa Guang-ji Wang Chang-xiao Liu 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,1:9

10Repeatability and Reproducibility of Quantitative Assessment of the Retinal Microvasculature Using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Based on Optical Microangiography显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to determine the repeatability and reproducibility of optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA) based on optical microangiography(OMAG) measurements of macular vessels in normal eyes. Methods In this prospective cohort study, 40 eyes of 40 healthy volunteers underwent repeated OCTA(Cirrus HD-OCT 5000 angiography system, Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc.) scans on two separate visit days. On each visit day, the eyes were scanned three times. The following parameters were used to quantitatively describe the OCTA images of the superficial vascular network: vessel area density(VAD), vessel skeleton density(VSD), vessel diameter index(VDI), vessel perimeter index(VPI), vessel complexity index(VCI), flux, and foveal avascular zone(FAZ). Coefficient of variation(CV) and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) were calculated for evaluating intravisit and intervisit repeatability, as well as interobserver reproducibility. Results The measurements showed high repeatability [CVs ≤ 4.2%(intravisit) and ≤ 4.6%(intervisit)] and interobserver reproducibility(ICCs ≥ 0.923) for all parameters. 12Focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 regulates bone homeostasis in mice显示文摘Our recent studies demonstrate that the focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 is critical for chondrogenesis and early skeletal development. Here, we show that deleting Kindlin-2 from osteoblasts using the 2.3-kb mouse Col1 a1-Cre transgene minimally impacts bone mass in mice, but deleting Kindlin-2 using the 10-kb mouse Dmp1-Cre transgene, which targets osteocytes and mature osteoblasts, results in striking osteopenia in mice. Kindlin-2 loss reduces the osteoblastic population but increases the osteoclastic and adipocytic populations in the bone microenvironment. Kindlin-2 loss upregulates sclerostin in osteocytes,downregulates β-catenin in osteoblasts, and inhibits osteoblast formation and differentiation in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation ofβ-catenin in the mutant cells reverses the osteopenia induced by Kindlin-2 deficiency. Kindlin-2 loss additionally increases the expression of RANKL in osteocytes and increases osteoclast formation and bone resorption. Kindlin-2 deletion in osteocytes promotes osteoclast formation in osteocyte/bone marrow monocyte cocultures, which is significantly blocked by an anti-RANKLneutralizing antibody. 14Neuroimage-Based Consciousness Evaluation of Patients with Secondary Doubtful Hydrocephalus Before and After Lumbar Drainage显示文摘Hydrocephalus is often treated with a cerebrospinal fluid shunt(CFS) for excessive amounts of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain.However,it is very difficult to distinguish whether the ventricular enlargement is due to hydrocephalus or other causes,such as brain atrophy after brain damage and surgery.The non-trivial evaluation of the consciousness level,along with a continuous drainage test of the lumbar cistern is thus clinically important before the decision for CFS is made.We studied 32 secondary mild hydrocephalus patients with different consciousness levels,who received T1 and diffusion tensor imaging magnetic resonance scans before and after lumbar cerebrospinal fluid drainage.We applied a novel machine-learning method to find the most discriminative features from the multi-modal neuroimages.Then,we built a regression model to regress the JFK Coma Recovery Scale-Revised(CRS-R) scores to quantify the level of consciousness.The experimental results showed that our method not only approximated the CRS-R scores but also tracked the temporal changes in individual patients.The regression model has high potential for the evaluation of consciousness in clinical practice.Jiayu Huo Zengxin Qi Sen Chen Qian Wang Xuehai Wu Di Zang Tanikawa Hiromi Jiaxing Tan Lichi Zhang Weijun Tang Dinggang Shen 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,9:7

16Case-control study on the associations between lifestyle-behavioral risk factors and phlegm-wetness cbonstitution显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the relationships between different lifestyle-behavioral factors and phlegm wetness type of Traditional Chinese Medicine constitution,so as to provide health management strategies for phlegm-wetness constitution.METHODS: A case-control study was conducted with the cases selected from the database of Chinese constitution survey in 9 provinces or municipalities of China. 1380 cases met the diagnostic criteria of phlegm-wetness type were taken as the case group, and 1380 cases were randomly selected from gentleness type as the control group. Using Chi-square test to compare the differences of lifestyle-behavior composition in each group; single factor and multiple logistic regression analysis were used to compare the relationships of life-style-behavioral factors and phlegm-wetness type.RESULTS: There were statistically significant differences between phlegm-wetness type group and gentleness type group in lifestyle behaviors(dietary habits, tobacco and liquor consumptions, exercise habits, sleeping habits). The results of single factor logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the risk of phlegm-wetness constitution decreased significantly in light diet(odds ratio, OR=0.68);The risk factors of phlegm-wetness type were fatty food intake(OR=2.36), sleeping early and getting up late(OR=1.87), tobacco smoking(OR=1.83),barbecued food intake(OR=1.68), alcohol drinking(OR=1.63), salty food intake(OR=1.44), sleeping erratically(OR=1.43), less physical activities(OR=1.42), sweet food intake(OR=1.29), sleeping and getting up late(OR=1.26), and pungent food intake(OR=1.21), respectively. Regardless of the interaction among lifestyle-behavioral factors, the results of the multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that the risk factors of phlegm-wetness type were sleeping early and getting up late(OR=1.94), fatty food intake(OR=1.80), tobacco smoking(OR=1.50),sleeping erratically(OR=1.50), barbecued food intake(OR=1.40), sleeping and getting up late(OR=1.40), less physical activities(OR=1.31), sleeping late and getting up early(OR=1.27),and sweet food intake(OR=1.27), respectively, and the risk ofphlegm-wetness type still decreased significantly inlightfoodintake(OR=0.79).CONCLUSION: Light diet can decrease the risk of being phlegm-wetness constitution, and bad lifestyle behaviors such as sleeping early and getting up late, sleeping erratically, fatty food, barbecued food or sweet food intake, tobacco and liquor consumptions, and less physical activities can increase the risks of becoming phlegm-wetness constitution.Yanbo Zhu Qi Wang Zhaoyu Dai Hideki Origasa Jie Di Yangyang Wang Lin Lin Chunpok Fan 2014Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,3:6
17Review of CHINARE chemical oceanographic research in the Southern Ocean during 1984–2016显示文摘Between 1984 and 2016, China executed 33 Antarctic cruises with the icebreaker R/V Xuelong, which have provided opportunities for Chinese scientists to investigate the status and changes of the Southern Ocean. Research in chemical oceanography constitutes one of the primary missions of the Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition(CHINARE). This paper reviews nearly 30 years of Chinese Antarctic expeditions, focusing on the major progress achieved in chemical oceanographic research. Specifically, the sea-surface distributions and air–sea fluxes of CO_2 and N_2O are considered, and the transport, flux, and budget of organic matter are investigated based on isotopes in the Southern Ocean, especially in Prydz Bay. In addition, the nutrient distribution and deep-water particle export in Prydz Bay and the study of aerosol heavy metal characteristics are considered. 18Validation and application of water levels derived from Sentinel-3A for the Brahmaputra River显示文摘For the first time ever, this study aims at applying Sentinel-3 A to the Great Brahmaputra River(GBR) and validating water levels derived from this newly-launched altimetry satellite mission. The GBR is divided into three primary parts:(1) a large section of the Yarlung Zangbo River in China, also termed the Upper Brahmaputra River(UBR) in this study, featured by high elevation,complex terrain, narrow river widths(from less than 100 to 400 m), and limited in situ measurements;(2) the Middle Brahmaputra River(MBR) with widths varying from ~400 m to ~1 km;(3) the Lower Brahmaputra River(LBR), dominated by braided channels with wide river channels(up to several kilometers). For the altimetry data, both waveform retracking and hooking effect correction were applied to mitigate the influence caused by land contamination and to improve the accuracy of water level retrievals. Water levels were derived from 41 virtual stations(VSs) across the GBR and different retracking algorithms were compared with in situ data from two gauging stations in the UBR. Time series of altimetry-based water levels were categorized into three types based on the quality: no data(type 1), degraded(type 2), and good(type 3). Results showed that the VSs(type 1) only existed in the mountainous regions, accounting for ~ a half of the total in the UBR. Validation with the gauged water levels showed that the TIC algorithm performed best among all of the retrackers applied, followed by the Ice-1 algorithm. The standard deviation of the difference between the gauged and TIC-derived water levels ranged from 0.41 to 0.76 m among four different VSs(type 3). In addition, the quality of VSs in the LBR was best, followed by the MBR. 19An improved modeling of precipitation phase and snow in the Lancang River Basin in Southwest China显示文摘Precipitation phase(e.g., rainfall and snowfall) and snow(e.g., snowpack and snowmelt runoff) in high-mountain regions may largely affect runoff generation, which is critical to water supply, hydropower generation, agricultural irrigation, and ecosystems downstream. Accurately modeling precipitation phase and snow is therefore fundamental to developing a better understanding of hydrological processes for high-mountain regions and their lower reaches. The Lancang River(LR, or the Upper Mekong River)in China, among the most important transboundary rivers originating from the Tibetan Plateau, features active dam construction and complex water resources allocation of various stakeholders in Southeast Asian countries under climate change. This study aims to improve precipitation phase and snow modeling for the LR basin with a hydrological model and multisource remotely sensed data. Results show that joint use of the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) land surface temperature product with high spatial resolution(1 km×1 km) and an air temperature product can more precisely distinguish precipitation phase than air and wet-bulb temperature products in the LR basin. Snowfall and snowmelt were found to be controlled primarily by rainfall and snowfall temperature thresholds in snow modeling. The rainfall and snowfall temperature thresholds derived from the hydrological model through calibration with remotely sensed snowpack at basin scales were considerably lower than those derived from in situ observations. Rainfall and snowfall temperature thresholds derived from in situ observations could lead to the overestimation of snowmelt runoff due mostly to the lack of representation of point-based measurements at basin scales.
