12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). The present guideline includes the underlying diseases of syncope in children and adolescents, the diagnostic procedures, methodology and clinical significance of standing test and headup tilt test, the clinical diagnosis vasovagal syncope, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, orthostatic hypotension and orthostatic hypertension, and the treatment of syncope as well as follow-up.Cheng Wang Yaqi Li Ying Liao Hong Tian Min Huang Xiangyu Dong Lin Shi Jinghui Sun Hongfang Jin Junbao Du Jindou An Jie Chen Mingwu Chen Qi Chen Sun Chen Yonghong Chen Zhi Chen Adolphus Kai-tung Chau Junbao Du Zhongdong Du Junkai Duan Hongyu Duan Xiangyu Dong Lin Feng Lijun Fu Fangqi Gong Yonghao Gui Ling Han Zhenhui Han Bing He Zhixu He Xiufen Hu Yimin Hua Guoying Huang Min Huang Ping Huang Yujuan Huang Hongfang Jin Mei Jin Bo Li Fen Li Tao Li Xiaohui Li Xiaoyan Liu Yan Li Haitao Lv Tiewei Lv Zipu Li Luyi Ma Silin Pan Yusheng Pang Hua Peng Yuming Qin Jie Shen Lin Shi Kun Sun Jinghui Sun Hong Tian Jie Tian Cheng Wang Hong Wang Lei Wang Jinju Wang Wendi Wang Yuli Wang Rongzhou Wu Tianhe Xia Yanyan Xiao Chunhong Xie Yanlin Xing Zhenyu Xiong Baoyuan Xu Yi Xu Hui Yan Shiwei Yang Qijian Yi Xia Yu Xianyi Yu Yue Yuan Hongyan Zhang Huili Zhang Li Zhang Qingyou Zhang Xi Zhang Yanmin Zhang Zhiwei Zhang Cuifen Zhao Bin Zhou Hua Zhu 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,23:54
2Special Section:SARS-CoV-2 Preliminary evidence from a multicenter prospective observational study of the safety and efficacy of chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19显示文摘Effective therapies are urgently needed for the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.Chloroquine has been proved to have antiviral effect against coronavirus in vitro. In this study,we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of chloroquine with different doses in COVID-19.In this multicenter prospective observational study,we enrolled patients older than 18 years old with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection excluding critical cases from 12 hospitals in Guangdong and Hubei Provinces.Eligible patients received chloroquinephosphate s00 mg,orally, once(half dose)or twice(full dose)daily.Patients treated with non-chloroquine therapy were included as historical controls. The primary endpoint is the time to undetectable viral RNA.Secondary outcomes include the proportion of patients with undetectable viral RNA by day 10 and 14,hospitalization time, duration of fever, and adverse events.A total of 197 patients completed chloroquine treatment, and 176patients were included as historical controls. The median time to achieve an undetectable viral RNA was shorter in chloroquine than in non-chloroquine(absolute difference in medians-6.0 days;95%CI-6.0 to—4.0).The duration of fever is shorter in chloroquine(geometric mean ratio 0.6;95%CIO.5 to 0.8).No serious adverse events were observed in the chloroquine group.Patients treated with half dose experienced lower rate of adverse events than with full dose.Although randomized trials are needed for further evaluation, this study provides evidence for safety and efficacy of chloroquine in COVID-19 and suggests that chloroquine can be a cost-effective therapy for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.Mingxing Huang Man Li Fei Xiao Pengfei Pang Jiabi Liang Tiantian Tang Shaoxuan Liu Binghui Chen Jingxian Shu Yingying You Yang Li Meiwen Tang Jianhui Zhou Guanmin Jiang Jingfen Xiang Wenxin Hong Songmei He Zhaoqin Wang Jianhua Feng Changqing Lin Yinong Ye Zhilong Wu Yaocai Li Bei Zhong Ruilin Sun Zhongsi Hong Jing Liu Huili Chen Xiaohua Wang Zhonghe Li Duanqing Pei Lin Tian Jinyu Xia Shanping Jiang Nanshan Zhong Hong Shan 2020National Science Review2020,7,9:20
3Effects of soaking process on arsenic and other mineral elements in brown rice显示文摘One of the main food crops in the world, rice can accumulate high levels of arsenic from flooded paddy soils, which seriously threatens human health.Soaking,a common processing method for brown rice products, especially for brown rice noodles, was investigated in this study.Japonica rice(Dao Hua Xiang No.2)and Indica rice(Ye Xiang You No.3)were selected for studying the effects of soaking on arsenic concentrations, species, and distributions. Results revealed that soaking can efficiently remove arsenic in these two rice varieties, and the main part of removal is endosperm with the maximal rate of about 40%.Inorganic arsenic(I-As)(about 85%)is the main species of arsenic reduction.Meanwhile, the variations of four other elements(i.e.,Mg,Ca,Zn,and Fe)were analyzed.Collectively, the findings of this study indicate that soaking can efficiently remove arsenic in brown rice under controlled soaking conditions, which thereby reduces the arsenic intake for brown rice customers.Fan Zhang Fengying Gu Huili Yan Zhenyan He Bolun Wang Hao Liu Tingting Yang Feng Wang 2020Food Science and Human Wellness2020,9,2:5
4Soil Degradation and Food Security Coupled with Global Climate Change in Northeastern China显示文摘The northeastern China is an important commodity grain region in China,as well as a notable corn belt and major soybean producing area.It thus plays a significant role in the national food security system.However,large-scale land reclamation and non-optimum farming practices give rise to soil degradation in the region. This study analyzed the food security issues coupled with global climate change in the northeastern China during 1980–2000,which is the period of modern agriculture. The results of statistical data show that the arable land area shrank markedly in 1992,and then increased slowly, while food production generally continually increased. The stable grain yield was due to the increase of applied fertilizer and irrigated areas.Soil degradation in the northeastern China includes severe soil erosion, reduced soil nutrients,a thinner black soil layer, and deterioration of soil physical properties. The sustainable development of the northeastern China is influenced by natural-artificial binary disturbance factors which consist of meteorological conditions, climate changes, and terrain factors as well as soil physical and chemical properties.Interactions between the increasing temperature and decreasing precipitation in the region led to reduced accumulation of soil organic matter, which results in poor soil fertility.Human-induced factors, such as large-scale land reclamation and non-optimum farming practices, unsuitable cultivation systems, dredging, road building, illegal land occupation, and extensive use of fertilizers and pesticides, have led to increasingly severe soil erosion and destruction.Solutions to several problems of soil degradation in this region requiring urgent settlement are proposed.A need for clear and systematic recognition and recording of land use changes, land degradation, food production and climate change conditions is suggested, which would provide a reference for food security studies in the northeastern China.GONG Huili MENG Dan LI Xiaojuan ZHU Feng 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,5:3
5Applying the Catch-MSY model to the stock assessment of the northwestern Pacific saury Cololabis Saira显示文摘The Pacific saury(Cololabis saira)is one of the major harvested species in the temperate waters of the northwestern Pacific Ocean(NPO).The Catch-MSY model uses catch data and basic life history information to estimate the Maximum Sustainable Yield(MSY)for data-limited fisheries.Since there is considerable uncertainty in the current status of the Pacific saury stock in the NPO,the Catch-MSY model was used in this study to estimate MSY on the basis of catch data and life history information from the North Pacific Fisheries Commission(NPFC).During the process,17 scenarios, according to different prior distributions of the intrinsic rate of increase(r)and carrying capacity(K),were set for sensitivity analysis. Moreover, the influence of different catch time series and different process errors were taken into account. The results show the following:(1)there was a strong negative correlation relationship between ln(r)and ln(K);the MSY increases with an increase in the lower limit of r;(2)The time series of catch data had a limited impact on the assessment results, whereas the results of the model were sensitive to the annual catch in the first and last years;(3)The estimated MSYs of the Pacific saury were 47.37×10^4 t(41.57×10^4 t to 53.17×10^4 t)in scenario S1A and 47.53×10^4 t(41.79×10^4 t to 53.27×10^4 t)in scenario S1B.Given the uncertainty of the Catch-MSY model, maintaining a management target between 50×10^4 t and 70×10^4 t was a better management regulation. This study shows that the Catch-MSY model is a useful choice for estimating the MSY of data-limited species such as the Pacific saury.SHI Yongchuang HUA Chuanxiang ZHU Qingcheng HUANG Shuolin FENG Huili 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,6:3
6DVL mutations identified from human neural tube defects and Dandy-Walker malformation obstruct the Wnt signaling pathway显示文摘Wnt signaling pathways, including the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway, planar cell polarity pathway, and Wnt/Ca2+signaling pathway, play important roles in neural development during embryonic stages. The DVL genes encode the hub proteins for Wnt signaling pathways. The mutations in DVL2 and DVL3 were identified from patients with neural tube defects(NTDs),but their functions in the pathogenesis of human neural diseases remain elusive. Here,we sequenced the coding regions of three DVL genes in 176 stillborn or miscarried fetuses with NTDs or Dandy-Walker malformation(DWM)and 480 adult controls from a Han Chinese population.Four rare mutations were identified:DVL1 p.R558 H,DVL1 p.R606 C,DVL2 p.R633 W,and DVL3 p.R222 Q.To assess the effect of these mutations on NTDs and DWM,various functional analyses such as luciferase reporter assay, stress fiber formation, and in vivo teratogenic assay were performed. The results showed that the DVL2 p.R633 W mutation destabilized DVL2 protein and upregulated activities for all three Wnt signalings(Wnt/β-catenin signaling,Wnt/planar cell polarity signaling, and Wnt/Ca2+signaling)in mammalian cells. In contrast,DVL1 mutants(DVL1 p.R558 H and DVL1 p.R606 C)decreased canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling but increased the activity of Wnt/Ca2+signaling,and DVL3 p.R222 Q only decreased the activity of Wnt/Ca2+signaling.We also found that only the DVL2 p.R633 W mutant displayed more severe teratogenicity in zebrafish embryos than wild-type DVL2.Our study demonstrates that these four rare DVL mutations, especially DVL2 p.R633 W,may contribute to human neural diseases such as NTDs and DWM by obstructing Wnt signaling pathways.Lingling Liu Weiqi Liu Yan Shi Ling Li Yunqian Gao Yunping Lei Richard Finnell Ting Zhang Feng Zhang Li Jin Huili Li Wufan Tao Hongyan Wang 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,6:2

17Check dam extraction from remote sensing images using deep learning and geospatial analysis:A case study in the Yanhe River Basin of the Loess Plateau,China显示文摘Check dams are widely used on the Loess Plateau in China to control soil and water losses, develop agricultural land, and improve watershed ecology.Detailed information on the number and spatial distribution of check dams is critical for quantitatively evaluating hydrological and ecological effects and planning the construction of new dams. Thus, this study developed a check dam detection framework for broad areas from high-resolution remote sensing images using an ensemble approach of deep learning and geospatial analysis.First,we made a sample dataset of check dams using GaoFen-2(GF-2)and Google Earth images.Next,we evaluated five popular deep-learning-based object detectors, including Faster R-CNN,You Only Look Once(version 3)(YOLOv3),Cascade R-CNN,YOLOX,and VarifocalNet(VFNet),to identify the best one for check dam detection. Finally,we analyzed the location characteristics of the check dams and used geographical constraints to optimize the detection results.Precision, recall, average precision at intersection over union(IoU)threshold of 0.50(AP_(50)),IoU threshold of 0.75(AP_(75)),and average value for 10 IoU thresholds ranging from 0.50-0.95 with a 0.05 step(AP_(50-95)),and inference time were used to evaluate model performance. All the five deep learning networks could identify check dams quickly and accurately, with AP_(50-95),AP_(50),and AP_(75)values higher than 60.0%,90.0%,and 70.0%,respectively,except for YOLOv3.The VFNet had the best performance, followed by YOLOX.The proposed framework was tested in the Yanhe River Basin and yielded promising results, with a recall rate of 87.0%for 521 check dams.Furthermore, the geographic analysis deleted about 50%of the false detection boxes, increasing the identification accuracy of check dams from 78.6%to 87.6%.Simultaneously,this framework recognized 568 recently constructed check dams and small check dams not recorded in the known check dam survey datasets. The extraction results will support efficient watershed management and guide future studies on soil erosion in the Loess Plateau.SUN Liquan GUO Huili CHEN Ziyu YIN Ziming FENG Hao WU Shufang Kadambot H M SIDDIQUE 2023Journal of Arid Land2023,15,1:0
18Ten decadal advances in fungal biology leading towards human well‑being显示文摘Fungi are an understudied resource possessing huge potential for developing products that can greatly improve human well-being.In the current paper,we highlight some important discoveries and developments in applied mycology and interdisciplinary Life Science research. These examples concern recently introduced drugs for the treatment of infections and neurological diseases;application of–OMICS techniques and genetic tools in medical mycology and the regulation of mycotoxin production;as well as some highlights of mushroom cultivaton in Asia.Examples for new diagnostic tools in medical mycology and the exploitation of new candidates for therapeutic drugs, are also given. In addition, two entries illustrating the latest developments in the use of fungi for biodegradation and fungal biomaterial production are provided. Some other areas where there have been and/or will be significant developments are also included. It is our hope that this paper will help realise the importance of fungi as a potential industrial resource and see the next two decades bring forward many new fungal and fungus-derived products.Ausana Mapook·Kevin DHyde Kevin D.Hyde Khadija Hassan Blondelle Matio Kemkuignou Adela Cmokova Frank Surup Eric Kuhnert Pathompong Paomephan Tian Cheng Sybren de Hoog Yinggai Song Ruvishika S.Jayawardena Abdullah M.S.Al‑Hatmi Tokameh Mahmoudi Nadia Ponts Lena Studt‑Reinhold Florence Richard‑Forget K.W.Thilini Chethana Dulanjalee L.Harishchandra Peter E.Mortimer Huili Li Saisamorm Lumyong Worawoot Aiduang Jaturong Kumla Nakarin Suwannarach Chitrabhanu S.Bhunjun Feng‑Ming Yu Qi Zhao Doug Schaefer Marc Stadler 2022Fungal Diversity2022,,5:0
19Pulmonary artery injury management during pulmonary thromboendarterectomy显示文摘Pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PEA) is the recommended treatment for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).1 Pulmonary artery injury is a major risk factor during PEA performed at less experienced surgical centers and is associated with adverse short-term consequences.In-hospital mortality may be as high as 15% in some PEA case series, with pulmonary artery injury and persistent pulmonary hypertension as the principal etiologies.2 Many techniques have been used to prevent pulmonary artery injury during PEA,but once the injury occurs, the prognosis is poor and may even result in death.Out of 202 PEA procedures performed at our surgical center,we successfully managed two cases of severe pulmonary artery injury and report our experience in the present case series.Gan Huili 2014Chinese Medical Journal2014,,15:0
20Strain-enhanced polarization sensitivity inβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)photodetector显示文摘Polarization-sensitive photodetection and imaging have great application value in fields such as polarization division multiplexing optical communication, remote sensing,near-field imaging and military monitoring.Pursuing a high polarization ratio has always been the research hotspot in polarization-sensitive photodetectors. In this paper,we report a compression strain enhanced polarization ratio inβ-gallium oxide(β-Ga_(2)O_(3))single crystal flake.A rigorous crystallographic analysis confirmed its high crystalline quality and orientation.Angle-resolved polarization Raman spectroscopy(ARPRS)was adopted to study the anisotropy of its optical properties.Extensive ARPRS measurements and theoretical calculation consistently demonstrate the strong optical anisotropy in the high-qualityβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)flake.A polarization ratio of 0.96 was obtained in the flatβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)flake.Furthermore,mechanical strain of±0.7%was introduced intoβ-Ga_(2)O_(3).An increased polarization ratio of 0.98 was achieved in the case of 0.7%compression strain, which is,to the best of our knowledge, the highest value for UVC polarization-sensitive photodetectors. That corresponds to an improved polarization rejection ratio of 100.This work proposed a new path towards improving polarization sensitivity by applying strain engineering in the active material.Yonghui Zhang Huili Liang Fei Xing Qiqian Gao Yu Feng Yuping Sun Zengxia Mei 2024Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2024,67,4:0
