| 1 | Protective effects of catalpol and rhein in murine experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis via regulation of T helper (Th)1, Th2,Th17, and regulatory T cell responses显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To examine the effects of catalpol and rhein on pro-and anti-inflammatory responses in C57 BL/6 mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE),a model of multiple sclerosis.METHODS:Female C57 BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups(n=30):(a)normal salinecontrol,(b)EAE control,(c)EAE+prednisone acetate(PA,6 mg/kg),and(d)EAE+catalpol(40 mg/kg)and rhein(5 mg/kg).EAE was induced by injection of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein 35-55 plus pertussis toxin.Treatments were orally administered daily for 40 d.Disease progression and neurological function were assessed using a semi-quantitative scale of tail and limb paralysis.Brains and spinal cords were collected on Days 6,20,and 40 and assessed for histopathological changes by hematoxylin and eosin staining.Production of interleukin(IL)-2,IL-4,IL-10,and IL-17 A protein was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Expression of the T helper(Th)1-,Th2-,Th17-,and regulatory T cell(Treg)-specific transcription factors T-bet,GATA3,ROR-γt,and Foxp3,respectively,were analyzed by quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis.RESULTS:Combination treatment with catalpol and rhein significantly alleviated the clinical disability and neurological dysfunction of mice with EAE.Catalpol and rhein treatment also reduced the infiltration of pro-inflammatory T cells into pathological lesions;significantly increased the expression of the anti-inflammatory factors GATA3,Foxp3,IL-4,and IL-10;and significantly decreased the expression of the pro-inflammatory factors T-bet,ROR-γt,IL-2,and IL-17 A.CONCLUSION:Catalpol and rhein reduced the neurological disabilities of mice with EAE,at least in part by rebalancing the pro-and anti-inflammatory environment in the brains and spinal cords. | Wei Mingyan Yang Tao Li Qian Zhou Dongdong Du Zongpan Fan Yongping | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,6: | 3 |
| 2 | Metal porphyrin intercalated reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite utilized for electrocatalytic oxygen reduction显示文摘In this paper, we report a simple and facile self-assembly method to successfully fabricate cationic metal porphyrin-MtTMPyP(Mt= Cobalt(Ⅱ), Manganese(Ⅲ), or Iron(Ⅲ); TMPyP = 5, 10, 15, 20-tetrakis(N-methylpyridinium-4-yl) porphyrin) intercalated into the layer of graphene oxide(GO) by the cooperative effects of electrostatic and π-π stacking interaction between positively charged metal porphyrin and negatively charged GO sheets. Followed by reduction with hydrazine vapor, a series of novel 2 D MtTMPyP/rGO_n were fabricated. The as-prepared 2 D hybrids were fully characterized and tested as non-noble metal catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) in an alkaline medium. | 13 | Epidemiological Investigation of Avian Leukemia in Some Indigenous Chicken Breeds of China显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to understand the natural infection status of avian leukemia in some indigenous chicken breeds of China.[Method]Using ELISA assay and virus isolation method,epidemiological investigation of ALV-AB and ALV-J avian leukemia of 10 indigenous chicken breeds were conducted.ALV dynamics were monitored in F_2 generation of four chicken lines.ALV pollution of attenuated live vaccines used in raising process was also inspected through sampling method.[Result] The positive rate of ALV-P27 antigen was 0-62.1%; the positive rate of ALV-AB antibody was 0-25.0%; the positive rate of ALV-J antibody was 0-59.0%; the positive rate of virus isolation was 0-22.0%.The positive rate of ALV-P27 antigen in 1-day-old chick meconium of four lines was 6.0%- 67.0%.The positive rate of virus isolation in 6-week-old chickens was 2.0%- 34.3%.Two kinds of vaccines from two batches produced by a manufacturer were polluted by ALV.[Conclusion] Most indigenous chickens were infected by ALV.There were great differences among different breeds of indigenous chicken,which might be related to ALV genetic resistance of different indigenous chickens.The ALV positive rates of F_2 chicks were slightly enhanced in some lines,which might be related to vaccine pollution. | Fan Jianhua Yu Yan Gao Mingyan Wei Yuyong Tu Yunjie Chen Tong Su Yijun Xu Bu Cui Zhizhong | 2016 | Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2016,8,5: | 0 |
| 14 | Prevalence and Severity of HBV-Associated Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure Due to Irregular Medication of Nucleos(t)ide Analogs显示文摘Hepatitis B virus(HBV)represents the commonest etiologic agent of acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)in most Asian countries.Nucleos(t)ide analogs(NAs)are effective in the treatment of chronic HBV infections,but may also exacerbate the disease and stimulate its development into HBV-associated ACLF if not used appropriately.The current study aimed to assess the prevalence and severity of HBV-associated ACLF as a result from irregular medication of NAs(IMNA).A total of 1134 individuals with HBV-associated ACLF in nine hospitals in Heilongjiang Province were enrolled in this study between 2005 and 2015.Among these,777 chronic hepatitis B(CHB)and 357 HBV-associated liver cirrhosis cases were classified based on various predisposing factors,including IMNA,HBV reactivation(HBVR),infections,treatment drugs,alcohol use and others(hepatitis C virus,hepatitis E virus,gastrointestinal bleeding and unknown reasons).The percentage and improvement rate were examined.Among individuals with HBV-associated ACLF and CHB,IMNA was found in 9.01%,HBVR in 46.20%,infections in 9.52%,treatment drugs in 14.67%,alcohol in 11.71%,and others in 24.58%as predisposing factors.Improvement rates in cases with IMNA,HBVR,infections,treatment drugs,alcohol and others were 41.43%,58.50%,58.11%,56.14%,53.85%,and 65.97%,respectively.Multivariable analysis showed that IMNA,others,infections,hepatic encephalopathy and hepatorenal syndrome were associated with prognosis.Only IMNA independently predicted HBV-associated ACLF prognosis.Overall,our study demonstrated that the percentage of IMNAinduced HBV-associated ACLF was 12.61%,and worse disease conditions resulted from IMNA compared with other factors.Thus,the suitability of treatment with NAs should be thoroughly evaluated. | Ying Zheng Shu Chen Yanxin Huang Lisheng Jiang Yongguo Li Yinghua Lan Shuchen Li Yuqin Xu Xiaodong Li Hongwei Zhao Yanbo Wang Ying Shen Chao Wei Honglin Zhou Rongshan Fan Xiqiu Zeng Mingxia Jiang Shupeng Song Mingyan Xu | 2021 | Infectious Microbes & Diseases2021,3,4: | 0 |
