| 1 | Assessment of the uncertainties in temperature change in China during the last century显示文摘We have used the China Homogenized Historic Temperature dataset and some long-term station series of the neighbor countries from CRUTEM3,a 5°×5° gridded dataset of monthly mean temperature since 1900,to provide a 107-year record of surface temperature trends and variability.We derived a comprehensive set of uncertainty estimates to accompany the data:measurement and sampling errors,uncertainties in temperature bias estimates,and uncertainties arising from limited observational coverage on large-scale averages have all been estimated.We reanalysed the temperature changes during the period of record.The best estimates of trends for 1900-2006 with uncertainties at 95% confidence range are about 0.09±0.017°C/decade for the year as a whole,and 0.14±0.021°C/decade,0.11±0.021°C/decade,0.04±0.017°C/decade,and 0.07±0.017°C/decade for winter,spring,summer and autumn respectively.For 1954-2006,the trends for annual,winter,spring,summer and autumn are:0.26±0.032°C/decade,0.35±0.046°C/decade,0.25±0.051°C/decade,0.16±0.037°C/decade and 0.22±0.055°C/decade.Winter saw the most significant warming trend in both 1900-2006 and 1954-2006,while during the most recent period(the satellite era,1979-2006),all the seasons show similar warming trends:0.45±0.13°C/decade,0.51±0.11°C/decade,0.52±0.16°C/decade,0.37±0.10°C/decade and 0.50±0.16°C/decade for annual,winter,spring,summer and autumn.Trends arising from urbanization have been evaluated as less than 5% of the total warming trend for 1951-2001,so this bias was not removed. | LI QingXiang DONG WenJie LI Wei GAO XiaoRong JONES P KENNEDY J PARKER D | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,19: | 26 |
| 2 | Bavachin enhances NLRP3 inflammasome activation induced by ATP or nigericin and causes idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity显示文摘Psoraleae Fructus(PF)is a well-known traditional herbal medicine in China,and it is widely used for osteoporosis,vitiligo,and other diseases in clinical settings.However,liver injury caused by PF and its preparations has been frequently reported in recent years.Our previous studies have demonstrated that PF could cause idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury(IDILI),but the mechanism underlying its hepatotoxicity remains unclear.This paper reports that bavachin isolated from PF enhances the specific stimuli-induced activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome and leads to hepatotoxicity.Bavachin boosts the secretion of IL-ip and caspase-1 caused by ATP or nigericin but not those induced by poly(I:C),monosodium urate crystal,or intracellular lipopolysaccharide.Bavachin does not affect AIM2 or NLRC4 inflammasome activation.Mechanistically,bavachin specifically increases the production of nigericin-induced mitochondrial reactive oxygen species among the most important upstream events in the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.Bavachin increases the levels of aspartate transaminase and alanine aminotransferase in serum and hepatocyte injury accompanied by the secretion of IL-ip via a mouse model of lipopolysaccharide-mediated susceptibility to IDILI.These results suggest that bavachin specifically enhances the ATP-or nigericin-induced activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.Bavachin also potentially contributes to PF-induced idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity.Moreover,bavachin and PF should be evaded among patients with diseases linked to the ATP-or nigericin-mediated activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome,which may be a dangerous factor for liver injury. | Nan Qin Guang Xu Yan Wang Xiaoyan Zhan Yuan Gao Zhilei Wang Shubin Fu Wei Shi Xiaorong Hou Chunyu Wang Ruisheng Li Yan Liu Jiabo Wang Haiping Zhao Xiaohe Xiao Zhaofang Bai | 2021 | Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,4: | 9 |

| 6 | Source Contributions to PM2.5 under Unfavorable Weather Conditions in Guangzhou City,China显示文摘Historical haze episodes(2013–16) in Guangzhou were examined and classified according to synoptic weather systems.Four types of weather systems were found to be unfavorable, among which 'foreside of a cold front'(FC) and 'sea high pressure'(SP) were the most frequent(> 75% of the total). Targeted case studies were conducted based on an FC-affected event and an SP-affected event with the aim of understanding the characteristics of the contributions of source regions to fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)) in Guangzhou. Four kinds of contributions—namely, emissions outside Guangdong Province(super-region), emissions from the Pearl River Delta region(PRD region), emissions from Guangzhou–Foshan–Shenzhen(GFS region), and emissions from Guangzhou(local)—were investigated using the Weather Research and Forecasting–Community Multiscale Air Quality model. The results showed that the source region contribution differed with different weather systems. SP was a stagnant weather condition, and the source region contribution ratio showed that the local region was a major contributor(37%), while the PRD region, GFS region and the super-region only contributed 8%, 2.8% and 7%, respectively, to PM_(2.5) concentrations. By contrast, FC favored regional transport. The super-region became noticeable,contributing 34.8%, while the local region decreased to 12%. A simple method was proposed to quantify the relative impact of meteorology and emissions. Meteorology had a 35% impact, compared with an impact of-18% for emissions, when comparing the FC-affected event with that of the SP. | 7 | The Effect of Home-Based Cardiac Rehabilitation on Functional Capacity,Behavior,and Risk Factors in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome in China显示文摘Aim:To investigate the effect of home-based cardiac rehabilitation on functional capacity,health behavior,and risk factors in patients with acute coronary syndrome in China.Methods:Eighty patients with acute coronary syndrome were enrolled in this prospective randomized controlled study.Patients in the cardiac rehabilitation group(n=52)received home-based cardiac rehabilitation with a heart manual and a home exercise video for 3 months and patients in the control group(n=28)received only routine secondary prevention.The 6-min walk distance,laboratory test results,healthy behavior(questionnaire),quality of life(12-item Short Form Health Survey),anxiety(7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire),and depression(9-item Patient Health Questionnaire)were evaluated at the beginning and after treatment for 3 months.Results:Compared with baseline data,52 patients who participated in cardiac rehabilitation had longer 6-min walk distance(515.26±113.74 m vs 0.445.30±97.92 m,P<0.0002),higher proportions of“always exercise”(78.26% vs.28%,P<0.05),“always limit food with sugar”(65.22% vs 12%,P<0.05),“always eat fruits 200–400 g every day”(82.61% vs.4%,P<0.05).and“always eat vegetables 300–500 g every day”(21.74%vs.12%,P<0.06)after treatment for 3 months.The low-density lipoprotein cholesterol control rate(52.17% vs.28%,P<0.05)and the systolic blood pressure control rate(100%vs.68%,P<0.05)were also signifi cantly increased after treatment for 3 months in the cardiac rehabilitation group.No signifi cant increase was found in the control group after treatment for 3 months.No cardiac-event related to home exercise was reported in both groups.Conclusion:Home-based cardiac rehabilitation is a feasible and available cardiac rehabilitation mode in China. | Rongjing Ding Jianchao Li Limin Gao Liang Zhu Wenli Xie Xiaorong Wang Qin Tang Huili Wang Dayi Hu | 2017 | Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2017,,B02: | 5 |
| 8 | Production and emission of phosphine gas from wetland ecosystems显示文摘Phosphine is a part of an atmospheric link of phosphorus cycle on earth, which could be an important pathway for phosphorus transport in environment.Wetland ecosystems are important locations for global biogeochemical phosphorus cycle.In this study, production and emission fluxes of free phosphine from four wetlands types in southern China were observed in different seasons.The results showed that the concentration of phosphine liberated from wetlands was at pg/m3-ng/m3 level.The emission concentrations of different wetlands followed the sequence:paddy field(51.83 ± 3.06) ng/m3 marsh(46.54 ± 20.55) ng/m3 > lake(37.05 ± 22.74) ng/m3 coastal wetland(1.71 ± 0.73) ng/m3, the positive phosphine emission flux occurred in rice paddy field(6.67 ± 5.18) ng/(m2·hr) and marsh(6.23 ± 26.9) ng/(m2·hr), while a negative phosphine flux of(-13.11 ± 35.04) ng/(m2·hr) was observed on the water-air interface of Lake Taihu, suggesting that paddy field and marsh may be important sources for phosphine gas in atmosphere, while lake may be a sink of atmospheric phosphine gas during the sampling period.Atmospheric phosphine levels and emission flux from Yancheng marsh and rice paddy field varied in different seasons and vegetational zones.Both diffusion resistance in aqueous phase and temperature were dominating factors for the production and transportation of phosphine to atmosphere. | Chao Han Xueyuan Gu Jinju Geng Yuning Hong Rui Zhang Xiaorong Wang Shixiang Gao | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,9: | 5 |
| 9 | Right-and-left visual field stimulation:A frequency and space mixed coding method for SSVEP based brain-computer interface显示文摘On the condition of using limited frequencies, fewer targets could be presented in brain-computer interface (BCI) based on steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEP). This paper proposes a novel coding method for SSVEP that, through a combination of frequency and spatial information, could increase the number of targets. Each target was composed of two flickers placed in the right-and-left visual fields. Given the role of the optic chiasm in the vision pathway, the two frequency components could be projected to contralateral occipital regions. Canonical correlation analysis (CCA) was utilized to detect the frequency components from the right or left visual cortex. Asymmetric index as a supplementary feature was also computed. Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) was used for target recognition. The attractive feature of this method is that it would substantially increase the number of targets. | 10 | Boosting the Information Transfer Rate of an SSVEP-BCI System Using Maximal-Phase-Locking Value and Minimal-Distance Spatial Filter Banks显示文摘For Brain-Computer Interface(BCI) systems, improving the Information Transfer Rate(ITR) is a very critical issue. This study focuses on a Steady-State Visually Evoked Potential(SSVEP)-based BCI because of its advantage of high ITR. Unsupervised Canonical Correlation Analysis(CCA)-based method has been widely employed because of its high efficiency and easy implementation. In a recent study, an ensemble-CCA method based on individual training data was proposed and achieved an excellent performance with ITR of 267 bit/min.A 40-target SSVEP-BCI speller was investigated in this study, using an integration of Minimal-Distance(MD) and Maximal-Phase-locking value(MP) approaches. In the MD approach, a spatial filter is developed to minimize the distance between the training data and the reference sine signal, and in this study, two different types of distance were compared. In the MP approach, a spatial filter is developed to maximize the Phase-Locking Value(PLV)between the training calibration data and the reference sine signal. In addition to the fundamental frequency of stimulation, the harmonics were used to train MD and MP spatial filters, which formed spatial filter banks. The test data epoch was multiplied by the MP and MD spatial filter banks, and the distances and PLVs were extracted as features for recognition. Across 12 subjects with a 0.4 s-data length, the proposed method realized an average classification accuracy and ITR of 93% and 307 bit/min, respectively, which is significantly higher than the current state-of-the-art method. | 16 | Response of soil CO_2 efflux to precipitation manipulation in a semiarid grassland显示文摘Soil CO_2efflux(SCE) is an important component of ecosystem CO_2 exchange and is largely temperature and moisture dependent, providing feedback between C cycling and the climate system. We used a precipitation manipulation experiment to examine the effects of precipitation treatment on SCE and its dependences on soil temperature and moisture in a semiarid grassland. Precipitation manipulation included ambient precipitation, decreased precipitation(- 43%), or increased precipitation(+ 17%). The SCE was measured from July2013 to December 2014, and CO_2 emission during the experimental period was assessed.The response curves of SCE to soil temperature and moisture were analyzed to determine whether the dependence of SCE on soil temperature or moisture varied with precipitation manipulation. The SCE significantly varied seasonally but was not affected by precipitation treatments regardless of season. Increasing precipitation resulted in an upward shift of SCE–temperature response curves and rightward shift of SCE–moisture response curves,while decreasing precipitation resulted in opposite shifts of such response curves. These shifts in the SCE response curves suggested that increasing precipitation strengthened the dependence of SCE on temperature or moisture, and decreasing precipitation weakened such dependences. Such shifts affected the predictions in soil CO_2 emissions for different precipitation treatments. When considering such shifts, decreasing or increasing precipitation resulted in 43 or 75% less change, respectively, in CO_2 emission compared with changes in emissions predicted without considering such shifts. | 17 | Organ-specific efficacy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with first-line single-agent immune checkpoint inhibitors显示文摘Background:Response to immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)is affected by multiple factors.This study aimed to explore whether sites of metastasis are associated with clinical outcomes of ICIs in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients.Methods::The data of NSCLC patients with high programmed death-ligand 1 expression and good performance status receiving first-line ICIs monotherapy from Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital between May 2019 and July 2020 were retrospectively analyzed.Metastatic sites included liver,bone,brain,adrenal gland,pleura,and contralateral lung.Progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)were compared between different metastatic sites and metastatic burden by the Kaplan-Meier method.Organ-specific disease control rate(OSDCR)of different individual metastatic sites was evaluated.Results:Forty NSCLC patients meeting the criteria were identified.The presence of liver metastasis was significantly associated with shorter PFS(3.1 vs.15.5 months,P=0.0005)and OS(11.1 months vs.not reached,P=0.0016).Besides,patients with bone metastasis tend to get shorter PFS(4.2 vs.15.5 months,P=0.0532)rather than OS(P=0.6086).Moreover,the application of local treatment could numerically prolong PFS in patients with brain metastasis(15.5 vs.4.3 months,P=0.1894).More metastatic organs involved were associated with inferior PFS(P=0.0052)but not OS(P=0.0791).The presence of liver metastasis or bone metastasis was associated with more metastatic organs(Phi[φ]:0.516,P=0.001).The highest OSDCR was observed in lung(15/17),and the lowest in the liver(1/4).Conclusions:Metastases in different anatomical locations may be associated with different clinical outcomes and local tumor response to ICIs in NSCLC.ICIs monotherapy shows limited efficacy in patients with liver and bone metastasis,thus patients with this type of metastasis might require more aggressive combination strategies. | Jiayi Deng Ming Gao Qing Gou Chongrui Xu Honghong Yan Mingyi Yang Jiakang Li Xiaorong Yang Xuewu Wei Qing Zhou | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,12: | 2 |
