1Preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio plus platelet-to-lymphocyte ratioin predicting survival for patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱgastric cancer显示文摘Background:The preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR) are associated with poor prognosis of gastric cancer.We aimed to determine whether the combination of NLR and PLR(NLR-PLR) could better predict survival of patients after curative resection for stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer.Methods:We collected data from the medical records of patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer undergoing curative resection between December 2000 and November 2012 at the Sun Yat-sen Cancer Center.The preoperative NLRPLR was calculated as follows:patients with both elevated NLR(≥2.1) and PLR(≥ 120) were given a score of 2,and patients with only one or neither were given a score of 1 or 0,respectively.Results:Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank tests revealed significant differences in overall survival(OS) among patients with NLR-PLR scores of 0,1 and 2(P < 0.001).Multivariate analysis showed that OS was independently associated with the NLR-PLR score[hazard ratio(HR) = 1.51,95%confidence interval(CI) 1.02-2.24,P = 0.039]and TNM stage(HR = 1.36,95%CI 1.01-1.83,P= 0.041).However,other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores,including the modified Glasgow prognostic score,the prognostic nutritional index,and the combination of platelet count and NLR,were not.In TNM stage-stratified analysis,the prognostic significance of NLR-PLR was maintained in patients with stage Ⅰ(P < 0.001) and stage Ⅱ cancers(P= 0.022).In addition,the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for the NLR-PLR score was higher than those of other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores(P = 0.001).Conclusion:The preoperative NLR-PLR score is a useful predictor of postoperative survival in the patients with stage l-ll gastric cancer and may help identify high-risk patients for rational therapy and timely follow-up.Xiaowei Sun Xuechao Liu Jianjun Liu Shangxiang Chen Dazhi Xu Wei Li Youqing Zhan Yuanfang Li Yingbo Chen Zhiwei Zhou 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer2016,35,7:25

3The program structure designing and optimizing tests of GRAPES physics显示文摘According to the modularization and standardization of program structure in Global/Regional Assimilation and Prediction System (GRAPES), the plug-compatible and transplantable regional meso-scale and global middle-range physics software package is established. The package's component integrality is comparative with the other advanced models physics. A three-level structure of connecting GRAPES physics and dynamic frame has been constructed. The friendly interface is designed for users to plug in their own physics packages. Phenomenon of grid-point storm rainfall in numerical prediction is analyzed with the numerical tests. The scheme of air vertical velocity calculation is improved. Optimizing tests of physics schemes are performed with the correlative parameters adjusting. The results show that the false grid-point storm rainfall is removed by precipitation scheme improving. 4A new-generation sand and dust storm forecasting system GRAPES_CUACE/Dust:Model development,verification and numerical simulation显示文摘Based on the new-generation Global/Regional Assimilation and PrEdiction System(GRAPES) developed by the Numerical Prediction Research Center,China Meteorological Administration and the Chinese Unified Atmospheric Chemistry Environment for Dust Atmospheric Chemistry Module(CUACE/Dust) developed by the Centre for Atmosphere Watch and Services(CAWAS) of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences(CAMS) ,the China sand and dust storm forecasting system GRAPES /CUACE-Dust model has been established.The latest data of land desertification,optical properties of China sand and dust aerosols,daily soil moisture and snow cover over China main land was introduced in this system.The system showed good performance in mass conservation.The comparisons of real-time prediction outputs with surface observations and aerosol indices derived from TOMS ozone spectrophotometers(TOMS AI) indicate that the model can predict the outbreak,development,transport and depletion processes of sand and dust storms accurately over China and the East Asian region.The system makes real-time quantitative prediction of a series of elements including sand and dust injection from the surface,dry and wet deposition amount,dust concentration and optical depth.We selected 7 major dust storms occurring in April 2006 and analyzed the spatiotemporal distribution patterns of dust emission,dry and wet deposition and atmospheric load in this paper.The results showed that about 225 million tons of dust were emitted into the atmosphere from the deserts over east Asia in that month.The 3 major sand and dust sources were just as the following:The deserts in northern Inner Mongolia and the boundary area around China-Mongolia were the first dust sources with a contribution of 153 million tons accounting for 68%of the total emission.The Taklimakan Desert ranked second and contributed approximately 40 million tons accounting for 17%of the dust emission.The Onqin Daga Sandland emitted about 15 million tons or 7%of the total emission.The contributions from other deserts,sandy lands and abandoned farmlands were about only 8%of the total dust emission.The total deposition over the East Asian region in April 2006 was 136 million tons.The regional distribution of dust deposition showed that the 3 major sources were also the major deposition areas.The deposition amount in the 3 major sources accounted for 78%of the total with about 135 million tons falling back to the source regions.The secondary deposition area was the China mainland downriver,where more than 2 million tons deposited accounting for 16%of the total deposition.The deposition over the region east of 120°E including China off-shore regions,Korean Peninsula,Japan and the West Pacific took only 6%of the total deposition,which was about 850000 tons.The analysis on dry and wet deposition showed that dry deposition dominated in the process,accounting for 94%of the total sand and dust depositions in the period and wet deposition only was around for 6%,since it was generally dry with less rainfall over northern China in April.WANG Hong GONG ShanLing ZHANG HongLiang CHEN Yong SHEN XueShun CHEN DeHui XUE JiShan SHEN YuanFang WU XiangJun JIN ZhiYan 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,7:10
5A flexible capacitive tactile sensor array with micro structure for robotic application显示文摘A flexible capacitive tactile sensor array with micro needle structure is proposed in this paper for robotic application.Micro needle layer made of polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)is sandwiched between the upper electrode layer made of PDMS and the bottom electrode layer fabricated on polyester(PET)film.The PDMS material renders the device adequate flexibility as it can be rolled into a cylinder.The single cell size in the fabricated 4×4 sensors array is 0.7×0.5 cm2and the initial capacitance of each cell is 0.86 p F.The fabricated cell shows a sensitivity of 3.26%/m N within the full scale range of 1 k Pa.The micro needle structure gives better repeatability and stability.The maximum error during each measurement is about 3.2%,while the minimum error is about 1.2%.HU XiaoHui ZHANG Xu LIU Ming CHEN YuanFang LI Peng PEI WeiHua ZHANG Chun CHEN HongDa 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,12:9
6Applying a statistical method to streamflow reduction caused by underground mining for coal in the Kuye River basin显示文摘Streamflow in the Kuye River basin has been sharply reduced by the effects of climate change and human activities.Since 1997,the intensification of coal mining has resulted in substantial reductions to streamflow alongside an ever-increasing demand for water.In this study,we present a derived statistical method,incorporating the Mann-Kendall and Pettitt method(MK-P) and the Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT),and apply it to estimating the streamflow reductions caused by underground mining for coal in the Kuye River basin.The results show that underground mining is an important cause of the streamflow reductions observed since1997,being responsible for reductions of 21.15 mm/yr(~56%of the total) during 1997-2009.The results of the SWAT simulation were assessed by several performance criteria:Nash-Suttcliffe Efficiency(Nse),correlation coefficient(R^2),relative error(RE),P-factor and Pv-factor.The close match between the simulations and observed data supports the reasonability of our findings.We suggest that engineering strategies be adopted to limit streamflow loss into goafs via fractured zones in the coalfield.LI Shu CHEN YuanFang LI ZhiJia ZHANG Ke 2016Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,12:8
7Relation Classification via Sequence Features and Bi-Directional LSTMs显示文摘Structure features need complicated pre-processing, and are probably domain-dependent. To reduce time cost of pre-processing, we propose a novel neural network architecture which is a bi-directional long-short-term-memory recurrent-neural-network(Bi-LSTM-RNN) model based on low-cost sequence features such as words and part-of-speech(POS) tags, to classify the relation of two entities. First, this model performs bi-directional recurrent computation along the tokens of sentences. Then, the sequence is divided into five parts and standard pooling functions are applied over the token representations of each part. Finally, the token representations are concatenated and fed into a softmax layer for relation classification. We evaluate our model on two standard benchmark datasets in different domains, namely Sem Eval-2010 Task 8 and Bio NLP-ST 2016 Task BB3. In Sem Eval-2010 Task 8, the performance of our model matches those of the state-of-the-art models, achieving 83.0% in F1. In Bio NLP-ST 2016 Task BB3, our model obtains F_1 51.3% which is comparable with that of the best system. 8Indole-3-propionic Acid-aggravated CCl_(4)-induced Liver Fibrosis via the TGF-β1/Smads Signaling Pathway显示文摘Background and Aims:The pathogenesis of liver fibrosis involves liver damage,inflammation,oxidative stress,and intestinal dysfunction.Indole-3-propionic acid(IPA)has been demonstrated to have antioxidant,anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities,and a role in maintaining gut homeostasis.The current study aimed to investigate the role of IPA in carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-induced liver fibrosis and explore the underlying mechanisms.Methods:The liver fibrosis model was established in male C57BL/6 mice by intraperitoneal injection of CCl4 twice weekly.IPA intervention was made orally(20 mg/kg daily).The degree of liver injury and fibrosis were assessed by serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),and histopathology.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)were used to detect the inflammatory cytokines.The malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione,glutathione peroxidase,superoxide dismutase,and catalase were determined via commercial kits.Hepatocyte apoptosis was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling assay.The expression of mRNA and protein was assayed by qPCR,Western blotting,or immunohistochemical staining.Results:After IPA treatment,the ALT and AST,apoptotic cells,and pro-inflammatory factor levels were enhanced significantly.Moreover,IPA intervention up-regulated the expression of collagen I,α-smooth muscle actin,tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1,matrix metalloproteinase-2,transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),Smad3,and phosphorylated-Smad2/3.Additionally,IPA intervention did not affect the MDA level.Attractively,the administration of IPA remodeled the gut flora structure.Conclusions:IPA aggravated CCl_(4)-induced liver damage and fibrosis by activating HSCs via the TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway.Fei Liu Changfeng Sun Yuanfang Chen Fei Du Yuxiang Yang Gang Wu 2021Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,6:5
9A nomogram to predict prognosis for gastric cancer with peritoneal dissemination显示文摘Objective: To identify independent prognostic factors to be included in a nomogram to predict the prognosis of gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination.Methods: This is a retrospective study on 684 patients with a histological diagnosis of gastric cancer with peritoneal dissemination from the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center as the development set, and 62 gastric cancer patients from the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University as the validation group. Chi-square test and Cox regression analysis were used to compare the clinicopathological variables and the prognosis of gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination. The Harrell's concordance index(C-index) and calibration curve were determined for comparisons of predictive ability of the nomogram.Results: Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that serum carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) level(P=0.032), ascites grading(P=0.008), presence of extraperitoneal metastasis(P<0.001), seeding status(P=0.016) and performance status(P=0.009) were independent prognostic factors for gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination in the development set. The nomogram model was constructed using these five factors. Internal validation showed that the C-index of the model was 0.641. For the external validation, the C-index of this model was 0.709.Conclusions: We developed and validated a nomogram to predict the prognosis for gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination. 10Sodium Tanshinone Ⅱ A sulfonate for acute myocardial infarction:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy and safety of Sodium tanshinone ⅡA sulfonate(STS) plus the conventional treatment on acute myocardial infarction(AMI) patients.METHODS: We searched several electrical databases and hand searched several Chinese medical journals up to January 2019. Randomized controlled trials(RCTs) comparing STS plus conventional treatment with conventional treatment were retrieved.Study screening, data extraction, quality assessment, and data analysis were conducted in accordance with the Cochrane standards.RESULTS: Sixteen trials involving 1383 people were included. The Meta-analysis showed STS combined with conventional treatment was a better treatment option than conventional treatment alone in reducing the risk of mortality, heart failure, arrhythmia and shock. In addition, STS was associated with improvement in left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) and left ventricular end diastolic dimension(LVEDD). No significant difference of STS was found on recurrent angina and recurrent AMI. However,the safety of STS remained uncertain for limited data.CONCLUSION: Compared with conventional treatment alone, STS combined with conventional treatment may provide more benefits for patients with AMI. 12Ginger-indirect moxibustion plus acupuncture versus acupuncture alone for chronic fatigue syndrome:a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To assess the efficacy and safety of gingerindirect moxibustion for chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS).METHODS:In this central randomized,controlled trial,290 CFS participants were recruited and randomly allocated to group A(ginger-indirect moxibustion plus acupuncture)or group B(acupuncture alone).The study consisted of a treatment period of 8 weeks with a total of 24 treatments(3 sessions per week,every other day),and a follow-up period of 12 weeks.The outcome was measured by Fatigue Severity Scale(FSS),Psychological Health Report(SPHERE),the Self-rating depression scale(SDS)and the Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)at baseline,2,4,6,8,12 and 20 weeks.RESULTS:With the treatment undergoing,the changes of FSS,SPHERE,SDS and HAMA scores in both groups increased gradually,and the effect maintained at the 12th week.Between groups,significantly higher score changes were seen in group A in FSS after 4 weeks treatment(11.94 vs 9.12,95%CI:0.94,4.7)and in SPHERE after 2 weeks treatment(3.7 vs 2.27,95%CI:0.56,2.31).But for SDS and HAMA,the improvement did not differ significantly between groups.No severe adverse events were reported.CONCLUSION:Ginger-indirect moxibustion is a safe and effective intervention to relieve fatigue and accompanying physical symptoms of CFS.MA Tingting WU Jie YANG Lijie FENG Fen YANG Huilin ZHANG Jinhua ZHONG Yanjin NING Qing HUANG Lirong LIN Youbing YAN Jue CHEN Guiquan HOU Tianshu WANG Li REN Yuanfang TAN Jing 2022Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,2:2

14Comparative Study on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg-Li-Al Based Alloys with Yttrium and Strontium Addition显示文摘The effects of yttrium and strontium on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-11Li-3Al magnesium alloy(LA113) are compared and analyzed. Microstructures and phases of the alloys were studied with optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscope(SEM), X-ray diffractometer(XRD) and energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS). Mechanical properties of alloys were measured with tensile tester. The results show that yttrium and/or strontium additions produce a strong grain refi ning effect in LA113 alloy. Al2 Y and Al4 Sr, etc. phases with different morphologies are verifi ed and exist inside the grain or at the grain boundaries, which directly impact on the mechanical properties of LA113 alloy. 19Study on Robot Grasping System of SSVEP-BCI Based on Augmented Reality Stimulus显示文摘Although notable progress has been made in the study of Steady-State Visual Evoked Potential(SSVEP)-based Brain-Computer Interface(BCI),several factors that limit the practical applications of BCIs still exist.One of these factors is the importability of the stimulator.In this study,Augmented Reality(AR)technology was introduced to present the visual stimuli of SSVEP-BCI,while the robot grasping experiment was designed to verify the applicability of the AR-BCI system.The offline experiment was designed to determine the best stimulus time,while the online experiment was used to complete the robot grasping task.The offline experiment revealed that better information transfer rate performance could be achieved when the stimulation time is 2 s.Results of the online experiment indicate that all 12 subjects could control the robot to complete the robot grasping task,which indicates the applicability of the AR-SSVEP-humanoid robot(NAO)system.This study verified the reliability of the AR-BCI system and indicated the applicability of the AR-SSVEP-NAO system in robot grasping tasks.Shangen Zhang Yuanfang Chen Lijian Zhang Xiaorong Gao Xiaogang Chen 2023Tsinghua Science and Technology2023,28,2:1
