1The discovery of Neoproterozoic extensional structures and its significance for gas exploration in the Central Sichuan Block, Sichuan Basin, South China显示文摘The Central Sichuan Block(CSB) is the hardest block between the deep faults of Pujiang-Bazhong and Huaying Mountain in the central part of Sichuan Basin, which lies in the northwestern part of the upper Yangtze Craton. The CSB has long been considered as the oldest and most stable core area of Yangtze Craton, with the uniform basement and high level of hardening. Here we present a detailed interpretation of deep structures in the CSB by integrating high-resolution seismic data(approx. 50000 km2) with large-scale aeromagnetic data. Results show that eight Neoproterozoic extensional structures of different scales are nearly EW-, NEE-, and NW-trending in the CSB. Discovery of these extensional structures changes previous understanding of the CSB as a unified block. The extensional structures experienced one or two stages of extension in the longitudinal section, and filled with 3000–5000-m-thick weakly magnetic materials. Development of basal A-type granite in Weiyuan, Sichuan Basin and bimodal volcanic rocks of the Suxiong Formation, Western Sichuan confirms the CSB's Neoproterozoic extensional tectonic setting. 2New indicators from bedding-parallel beef veins for the fault valve mechanism显示文摘Beef structures(bedding-parallel veins of fibrous calcite)are widespread within the Lower Triassic carbonate rocks in the Sichuan Basin of China,especially within clay-rich strata of low permeability.In the veins,fibrous calcite occurs in the outer zones,and coarse equant calcite in the inner zones.At least two generations of calcite crystallization took place during aqueous alteration,at the same time as deformation recorded by the calcite.The first-generation calcite fibers are at steep angles to the hydrocarbon-bearing host beds,and they grew vertically against the force of gravity at a time when the source rocks were maturing.Second-generation calcite occurs as coarse equant grains that sealed pores via localized fluid flow during horizontal tectonic compression,so that shear stresses acted at the fracture margins.Shearing of the host rock was accommodated in part by dissolution-precipitation creep(DPC),grain rotation,and grain slippage,recorded in crystallographic preferred orientations(CPOs)of the host calcite grains beside the crack walls.The beef veins formed during high pore-fluid overpressures along hydrofractures.We propose that the bedding-parallel veins with beef structures are evidence of a'crack-seal slip'fault valve process during hydrocarbon generation.The hydrocarbon-bearing calcite beef structure may be a good indicator of oil or gas migration,and of the flow direction of aqueous solutions.ZHANG Bo YIN CongYuan GU ZhiDong ZHANG JinJiang YAN ShuYu WANG Yang 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,8:5
3SEM/EBSD analysis of quartz cementation and compaction microstructures during diagenesis of sandstone显示文摘Compaction and silicon cementation are the dominant processes reducing porosity and permeability in quartzose sandstones during diagenesis.Despite the wealth of information about quartz cementation,there are still unanswered questions related to mechanisms of growth of quartz cement and the diagenesis processes.In this study we present an electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)analysis,combined with optics and cathodoluminescence(CL)information,for the quartz sandstones from the Upper Triassic Xujiahe Formation of Sichuan Basin,in order to reveal the microstructural and crystallographic features of the silica cementation and detrital grain during the compaction.The EBSD is a crucial technique to provide essential crystallographic data on the quartz grain and its cement.Quartz cement is shown to be syntaxial to its host quartz grain.EBSD data-based orientation maps show dauphiné twinning and low angle boundary to be common in the host grains and quartz cement of the samples.The dauphiné twins occurred in grain-grain contacts and in cement-crystal boundaries,and commonly crossed grain cement boundaries.These features indicate that there may be two types of dauphiné twins,one inherited twins from the source area and the other developed by compaction-induced grain boundary deformation.These investigations suggest that strong mechanical compaction may occur after and/or during quartz cement growth in the later diagenesis of the Xujiahe sandstones.EBSD has a capability of revealing microstructural information and regarding mechanisms of diagenesis crystal growth in quartzose sandstones.ZHANG Bo YAN ShuYu GU ZhiDong ZHANG JinJiang 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,8:4

6The effects of Eu^(3+) doping on the epitaxial growth and photovoltaic properties of BiFeO_(3) thin films显示文摘Nowadays,photovoltaic effect has been widely studied in various ferroelectric materials due to its ap-plications as optoelectronic devices.In this work,with BiFeO_(3)(BFO)films as the photovoltaic materials,we report the effects of Eu^(3+)doping content on the phase structure,ferroelectric and optical properties of BFO films grown on Ca_(0.96) Ce_(0.04) MnO_(3)/YAlO_(3)(001)substrate.We found that a small doping level of 0.05 could induce a phase change of BFO from tetragonal to rhombohedral,due to the shrinking of the lattice upon Eu^(3+)doping and the breaking of surface terrace structure induced by Ca_(0.96) Ce_(0.04) MnO_(3) layer.This results in a sharp band gap reduction from 3.30 eV to 2.60 eV,and a decrease in the coercivity of ferroelectric polarization switching.Based on these findings,we investigate the photovoltaic effects of ITO/Eu_(x) Bi_(1-x) FeO_(3)/Ca_(0.96) Ce_(0.04) MnO_(3) vertical capacitors.It is found that the short-circuit current density(J_(sc))decreases with increasing Eu^(3+)doping,whereas the open-circuit voltage(V_(oc))first increases to a level of 0.1 V and then decreases with further Eu^(3+)doping.This could be explained by the combined ef-fect of Schottky-junction and depolarization field on the photovoltaic process.Our research suggests that a moderate Eu^(3+)doping is helpful for enhancing the photovoltaic effect of BFO thin film devices.Dingshuai Feng Biaohong Huang Lingli Li Xiaoqi Li Youdi Gu Weijin Hu Zhidong Zhang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,11:0
