| 1 | Safety and efficacy of Yupingfeng granules in children with recurrent respiratory tract infection:A randomized clinical trial显示文摘Importance:Recurrent respiratory tract infection(RRTI)is common in children.Inappropriate RRTI treatment will lead to asthma and other diseases,thereby seriously affecting the growth and physical health of children.Immune function modulation can prevent and alleviate childhood RRTI.Yupingfeng(YPF),a patented traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),has immunomodulatory effects and is widely used in China to treat children with RRTI.Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of YPF monotherapy in treating children with RRTI.Methods:This multicenter,randomized,double-blind,double-simulation,noninferiority clinical trial was conducted from January 2015 to August 2017,with an 8-week treatment period and 52-week follow-up after the drug withdrawal.Children aged 2–6 years with RRTI meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled in 13 hospitals in China and divided randomly into three groups(2:2:1 ratio)to receive YPF,pidotimod,or placebo.The primary outcome was the proportion of RRTI returning to normal standard level during the follow-up.The secondary outcomes were reduction in the number of RRTI recurrences,effect on clinical symptoms(in accord with TCM practice),effect per symptom,and safety.The trial was registered at the Chinese Clinical Trials Registry(www.chictr.org.cn)under the unique identifier ChiCTR-IPR-15006847.Results:Three hundred and fifty-one children were enrolled and randomly assigned to 3 groups;124,125,and 61 children in the YPF,pidotimod,and placebo groups,respectively,had completed the trial.During the follow-up,the proportion of RRTI returning to normal standard level was 73.13%,67.15%,and 38.81%with YPF,pidotimod,and placebo,respectively(P<0.0001).The proportion of cases who returned to normal standard level in the YPF group was 34.32%higher than that in the placebo group.The safety profile did not significantly differ among the groups.Interpretation:YPF granules were noninferior to the active control drug pidotimod oral solution for the treatment of RRTI in children,and were superior to placebo,with a high safety profile. | Baoping Xu Xinmin Li Siyuan Hu Yixiao Bao Fengmei Chen Zhimin Chen Yonggang Du Enmei Liu Yufeng Liu Qinghui Mou Baoling Su Bo Wang Jianwen Xu Guiping Xu Qiaozhi Yang Liwei Gao Xiaohui Liu Lei Li Rong Ma Kunling Shen | 2022 | Pediatric Investigation2022,6,2: | 3 |
| 2 | Particle swarm optimization and its application to seismic inversion of igneous rocks显示文摘In order to improve the fine structure inversion ability of igneous rocks for the exploration of underlying strata, based on particle swarm optimization(PSO), we have developed a method for seismic wave impedance inversion. Through numerical simulation, we tested the effects of different algorithm parameters and different model parameterization methods on PSO wave impedance inversion, and analyzed the characteristics of PSO method. Under the conclusions drawn from numerical simulation, we propose the scheme of combining a cross-moving strategy based on a divided block model and high-frequency filtering technology for PSO inversion. By analyzing the inversion results of a wedge model of a pitchout coal seam and a coal coking model with igneous rock intrusion, we discuss the vertical and horizontal resolution, stability and reliability of PSO inversion. | 13 | Cenozoic magmatic activity and oblique uplifting of the Ailao Mountain: Evidence from a short-period dense seismic array显示文摘Geological studies show that the southern part of Ailaoshan-Red River shear zone(ALSRRSZ)has experienced complex metallogenic processes and multi-stage non-uniform uplifting,called oblique uplifting since the Cenozoic.To detect the deep structure and geodynamic background beneath Daping,Chang’an and other gold and polymetallic deposits in this area,we carried out a high-density short-period seismic array survey in southern Yunnan province.The array used is approximately240 km long with an interval of 500 m between two adjacent stations.Based on the data collected by the array,we used H-κstacking and common conversion point(CCP)methods of receiver functions to reveal the fine crustal structure beneath this array,which was located from Lvchun(western end)to the east and ended in Maguan.The three main conclusions are as follows.(1)The average crustal thickness is approximately 37 km and the Vp/Vsratio is 1.75.However,the thickness and Vp/Vsratio of the Ailao Mountain are rather greater or higher than those of the western Lanping-Simao Basin and eastern South-China block.These results may indicate that the crust is rich in ferromagnesian minerals or has a thermal fluid anomaly after orogenic movement.(2)There are two obvious inclined interfaces beneath the Ailao Mountain in the mid-upper crust,which suggests that strong deformation occurred there during the orogenic period.Some evidences,such as the weak converted-wave Pms phase from the Moho,low P-wave velocities of the upper mantle,high surface heat flow values,and generally developed hot springs,indicate that a strong crust-mantle interaction exists in the southern segments of the Ailaoshan-Red River shear zone.These interactions include a diapir of mantle-sourced magma(stronger in the east than that in the west),lateral collision from the Indian Plate,and the differential uplift caused by the strike-slip movement of the Red River Fault.All of above deep processes led to the Cenozoic oblique uplifting of Ailao Mountain.(3)By combining the location of the deposits on the surface,characteristics of the average crustal Vp/Vsratio,hypocenters of the small earthquakes along the research profile,Moho shape,and horizontal variations of the Pms phase amplitudes,we speculate that the Ailaoshan Fault was the upgoing conduit for metallogenic magma and played a significant role in the Cenozoic development of the multiform metal deposits around the Ailao Mountain area. | Lu ZHANG Zhiming BAI Tao XU Zhenbo WU Minfu HUANG Guiping YU Junlei CHEN Mengjie ZHENG | 2020 | Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,9: | 1 |

| 18 | Establishment of a risk assessment system for complications of hepatectomy based on preoperative variables显示文摘Background and aims:To reduce the incidence of postoperative complications,it is important to predict them and intervene before surgery if necessary.However,there is no ideal system to evaluate the overall risk of post-operative complications of liver surgery on the basis of preoperative variables.Therefore,this study aimed to design and validate a risk assessment system to predict postoperative complications of hepatectomy on the basis of preoperative variables.Methods:Binomial logistic regression was used to derive the“hepatectomy overall risk formula”(HORF)for predicting postoperative complications on the basis of preoperative variables.Results:Multivariate analysis revealed that Child–Pugh grade B–C(odds ratio[OR]=1.984,p=0.002),medical diseases requiring drug treatment(OR=1.883,p=0.003),major hepatectomy(OR=1.947,p<0.001),adjacent organ invasion(OR¼3.616,p¼0.023),and preoperative hospital stay>7 days(OR=1.565,p=0.004)were independent risk factors for postoperative complications of hepatectomy.The area under the curve for the HORF was 0.736.The optimal cut-off value for predicting complications was 0.32(32%).The area under the curve for the HORF in the validation dataset was 0.727.Conclusion:The HORF can accurately predict postoperative complications of hepatectomy on the basis of pre-operative variables,and thus enables the determination of the necessity for intervention before surgery. | Lining Xu Guiping Li Bo Yang | 2022 | iLIVER2022,1,4: | 1 |

| 20 | Ray tracing of turning wave in elliptically anisotropic media with an irregular surface显示文摘Seismic ray tracing in anisotropic media with irregular surface is crucial for the exploration of the fine crustal structure. Elliptically anisotropic medium is the type of anisotropic media with only four independent elastic parameters. Usually, this medium can be described by only the vertical phase velocity and the horizontal phase velocity for seismic wave propagation. Model parameterization in this study is described by flexible triangular grids,which is beneficial for the description of irregular surface with high degree of approximation. Both the vertical and horizontal phase velocities are defined in the triangular grids, respectively, which are used for the description of phase velocity distribution everywhere in the model by linear interpolation. We develop a shooting ray tracing method of turning wave in the elliptically anisotropic media with irregular surface. Runge-Kutta method is applied to solve the partial differential equation of seismic ray in elliptically anisotropic media. Linearly modified method is used for adjusting emergent phase angles in the shooting scheme. Numerical tests demonstrate that ray paths coincide well with analytical trajectories in transversely homogeneous elliptically anisotropic media.
