| 4 | Uranium sorption on oxyhydroxide minerals by surface complexation and precipitation显示文摘During the chemical weathering of the uranium mill tailings,released uranium could be immobilized by the newly formed secondary minerals such as oxyhydroxides.A deeper understanding of the interaction between uranium and common oxyhydroxides under environmental conditions is necessary.In this work,uranium sorption behaviors on Al-,Mn-and Fe-oxyhydroxide minerals(boehmite,manganite,goethite,and lepidocrocite)were investigated by batch experiments.Results showed that the uranium sorption on Al-oxyhydroxide behaved significantly differently from the other three minerals.The sorption edge of the Mn-and Fe-oxyhydroxides located around pH 5,while the sorption edge of boehmite shifted about 1.5 pH unit to near neutral.The sorption isotherms of uranium on manganite,goethite and lepidocrocite at pH 5.0 could be well fitted by the Langmuir model.Instead of surface complexation,sorption on boehmite happened mainly by uranium-bearing carbonates and hydroxides precipitation as illustrated by the characterization results.Both carbonate and phosphate strongly affected the uranium sorption behavior.The removal efficiency of uranium by boehmite exceeded 98%after three sorption-desorption cycles,indicating it may be a potential material for uranium removal and recovery. | Jingyi Wang Wanqiang Zhou Yanlin Shi Yao Li Dongfan Xian Ning Guo Chunli Liu | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,7: | 3 |

| 8 | Facile pathway to generate agrochemical nanosuspensions integrating super-high load, eco-friendly excipients, intensified preparation process, and enhanced potency显示文摘An aqueous nanosuspension of agrochemicals unlike pharmaceutics has to achieve massive production in an effective way,capable to ensure sufficient profits in commercialization.This work implements the flash nanoprecipitation(FNP)technique to effectively generate agrochemical nanosuspension,anticipatedly overcoming such an obstacle.Azoxystrobin,a broad spectrum fungicide,in either acetone or ethanol is used herein as a mode agrochemical.To ensure a green and practical utilization,three kinds of commercially available and eco-friendly surfactants,i.e.,poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PEG-b-PLGA),Tween 80 and alkyl polyglucosides(APGs),are employed for stabilizing the nanoparticles.The results show that the polymeric stabilizer,PEG-b-PLGA,has the best stabilization efficiency,and can maintain the particles below 100 nm for at least three weeks.The azoxystrobin load of the nanoparticles reaches as high as 77 wt.%,beneficial to enhancing the biological potency.Moreover,the FNP brings the particles a much smaller size,narrower size distribution,better size stability,and higher biological efficacy than the ones made via a traditional method of the drop and stir(DS).The nanosuspensions present superior fungicidal performances over a prevailing counterpart from Syngenta.This study proves an enhanced biological potency and reduced dosage of agrochemical nanosuspension made via the FNP,indicating a remarkable advantage of the FNP over the conventional preparation.The integration of a super-high load,eco-friendly excipients,intensified preparation process,enhanced potency,and reduced dosage creates a promising pathway to generate a green aqueous nanosuspension of agrochemicals. | Zhengxi Zhu Chuanhua Shao Yanlin Guo Jianguo Feng Chong Chen and Haibin Yang | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,7: | 1 |

| 15 | Magnesium-based materials in orthopaedics:material properties and animal models显示文摘As a new generation of medical metal materials,degradable magnesium-based materials have excellent mechanical properties and osteogenic promoting ability,making them promising materials for the treatment of refractory bone diseases.Animal models can be used to understand and evaluate the performance of materials in complex physiological environments,providing relevant data for preclinical evaluation of implants and laying the foundation for subsequent clinical studies.To date,many researchers have studied the biocompatibility,degradability and osteogenesis of magnesium-based materials,but there is a lack of review regarding the effects of magnesium-based materials in vivo.In view of the growing interest in these materials,this review briefly describes the properties of magnesium-based materials and focuses on the safety and efficacy of magnesium-based materials in vivo.Various animal models including rats,rabbits,dogs and pigs are covered to better understand and evaluate the progress and future of magnesium-based materials.This literature analysis reveals that the magnesium-based materials have good biocompatibility and osteogenic activity,thus causing no adverse reaction around the implants in vivo,and that they exhibit a beneficial effect in the process of bone repair.In addition,the degradation rate in vivo can also be improved by means of alloying and coating.These encouraging results show a promising future for the use of magnesium-based materials in musculoskeletal disorders. | Xirui Jing Qiuyue Ding Qinxue Wu Weijie Su Keda Yu Yanlin Su Bing Ye Qing Gao Tingfang Sun Xiaodong Guo | 2021 | Biomaterials Translational2021,2,3: | 1 |
