1Compaction Rate of an Early Permian Volcanic Tuff from Wuda Coalfield, Inner Mongolia显示文摘Compaction rates of sediments or volcaniclastic material are needed to reconstruct original thickness of a bed,which in turn is required to reconstruct subsidence rates,sea-level rise,or in the case of volcaniclastic,the location or direction of the eruption site.The knowledge of compaction rates can also aid in the reconstruction of deformed fossils.The known shape of deformed fossils can allow the determination of the compaction they experienced.Here we report the compaction rate in an early Permian volcanic tuff from Wuda,Inner Mongolia,determined from the deformation of standing tree fern stems of known anatomy.The compaction rate has been found to be 0.56 in this case,indicating that 44% of original thickness remains.WANG Jun HE Xuezhi Hermann W.PFEFFERKORN WANG Jinrong 2013Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,5:5
2The evolution of Paleozoic vascular land plant diversity of South China显示文摘Data of Paleozoic and some Early Triassic vascular land plant fossils from South China are synthetically analyzed,revealing evolutionary characteristics of Paleozoic vascular land plant diversity.Vascular land plant diversity keeps increasing in the Paleozoic as a whole.The Silurian witnessed the earliest evolution and initial diversification of land plants.From the Early Devonian to the Early Carboniferous(Mississippian),the great development,diversification,and differentiation really occurred in vascular land plants,with fluctuations of diversity,rapid replacement of the plant types,and an all-out takeover of terrestrial ecological niches.From the Early Permian,land plant diversity dramatically increased,and reached a climax in the Middle-Late Permian.Comparisons between late Paleozoic marine and terrestrial biodiversity reveal co-evolution of the late Paleozoic animals and plants as well as the individual evolutionary patterns of sea/land ecosystems.Vascular land plant diversity dramatically declined in the Frasnian as a result of the F/F event,and the end-Permian mass extinctions completely turned over the phytogroups.Yi Wang Jun Wang HongHe Xu XueZhi He 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,12:3
3Analysis of the origin of peak aerosol optical depth in springtime over the Gulf of Tonkin显示文摘By aggregating MODIS(moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer) AOD(aerosol optical depth) and OMI(ozone monitoring instrument) UVAI(ultra violet aerosol index)datasets over 2010–2014, it was found that peak aerosol loading in seasonal variation occurred annually in spring over the Gulf of Tonkin(17–23°N, 105–110°E). The vertical structure of the aerosol extinction coefficient retrieved from the spaceborne lidar CALIOP(cloud-aerosol lidar with orthogonal polarization) showed that the springtime peak AOD could be attributed to an abrupt increase in aerosol loading between altitudes of 2 and 5 km.In contrast, aerosol loading in the low atmosphere(below 1 km) was only half of that in winter. Wind fields in the low and high atmosphere exhibited opposite transportation patterns in spring over the Gulf of Tonkin, implying different sources for each level. By comparing the emission inventory of anthropogenic sources with biomass burning, and analyzing the seasonal variation of the vertical structure of aerosols over the Northern Indo-China Peninsula(NIC), it was concluded that biomass burning emissions contributed to high aerosol loading in spring. The relatively high topography and the high surface temperature in spring made planetary boundary layer height greater than 3 km over NIC. In addition, small-scale cumulus convection frequently occurred, facilitating pollutant rising to over 3 km, which was a height favoring long-range transport. 4Paleoecology of Oligocarpia gothanii Halle from the Middle Permian of Southeastern Shanxi,North China显示文摘Fossil ferns are abundant and diverse in the Permian Cathaysian Flora of Shanxi, North China. Although plants assemblages of the Carboniferous and Permian have been extensively investigated, their palaeoecology and especially the paleoecology of ferns has not been studied in detail. Recent reinvestigation of Oligocarpia gothanii has revealed its growth habit and cloning reproduction strategy, but most previous studies lack integrated sedimentological and taphonomic data. In this study, new materials of O. gothanii have been collected from a floodplain setting in the middle Permian Lower Shihhotse Formation of southeastern Shanxi. These plant fossils were found in a lenticular claystone associated with rooting structures. They are characterized by aphlebia at the base of the penultimate rachis. Sedimentological, taphonomic and morphological analyses were conducted to understand the growth habit and ecology of the fern. 5A novel long non-coding RNA NFIA-AS1 is down-regulated in gastric cancer and inhibits proliferation of gastric cancer cells显示文摘Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant gastrointestinal tumors whose morbidity and mortality account for the second and third place respectively in malignant tumors in China.As an important participant in tumor biology,the abnormal expression of long non-coding RNA(lncRNAs)in cancer cells is closely related to the occurrence and development of tumors and plays the role of oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes.In this study,we identified a novel lncRNA NFIA antisense RNA 1(NFIA-AS1)and explored its role and clinical significance in gastric cancer.Real-time quantitative PCR was performed to detect the expression of NFIA-AS1 in tumor tissues and corresponding normal tissues from 42 pairs of gastric cancer samples.The lower expression of NFIA-AS1 was significantly associated with larger tumor size,lower histological grade,and advanced TNM stage.Kaplan-meier analysis showed that NFIA-AS1 expression could be used as an independent predictor of overall survival.We also demonstrated that overexpression of NFIA-AS1 significantly inhibited the proliferation of gastric cancer cells through affecting p16 levels.In conclusion,our results suggest that the lncRNA NFIA-AS1 may play the role of tumor suppressor gene,and serve as a biomarker for prognosis or progression of gastric cancer.Jing Wang Xuezhi He Xiyi Lu Muhammad Amin Karim Dengshun Miao Erbao Zhang 2019The Journal of Biomedical Research2019,33,6:1
6Feasibility Study of the GST‑SVD in Extracting the Fault Feature of Rolling Bearing under Variable Conditions显示文摘Feature information extraction is one of the key steps in prognostics and health management of rotating machinery.In the present study,an investigation about the feasibility of a methodology based on generalized S transform(GST)and singular value decomposition(SVD)methods for feature extraction in rolling bearing,due to local damage under variable conditions,is conducted.The technique adopts the GST method,following the time-frequency analysis,to transform a raw fault signal of the rolling bearing into a two-dimensional complex matrix.And then,the SVD method is performed to decompose the matrix to obtain the feature vectors.By this procedure it is possible to obtain the fault feature information of rolling bearing under different speeds and different loads.In order to streamline the feature parameters of the feature vectors to train more uncomplicated models,the principal component analysis(PCA)subsequently performed.The particle swarm optimization-support vector machine(PSO-SVM)model is used to identify and classify the different fault states of rolling bearing.Furthermore,in order to highlight the superiority of the proposed method some comparisons are conducted with the conventional methods.The obtained results show that the proposed method can effectively extract fault features of the rolling bearing under variable conditions.Xiangnan Liu Xuezhi Zhao Kuanfang He 2022Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,6:1

8Glucosinolate Variation in Turnip (Brassica rapa L.) at Different Growing Stages显示文摘The seed,leaf and root parts of three turnip( Brassica rapa L.) cultivars were analyzed for glucosinolates. The component and concentration of glucosinolates in the three cultivars were also analyzed at different growing stages. Eight kinds of glucosinolates were tested in turnip. They were PRO,NAP,4 OH,GBN,GBC,NAS,4 ME and NEO,respectively. The contents and kinds of glucosinolates varied at different growing stages. 9Analysis on Composition and Content of Glucosinolates in Broccoli Flowers and Leaves显示文摘Glucosinolate composition and content were evaluated in flowers and leaves of 12 different broccoli varieties. The results indicated that there were 9 glucosinolates in broccoli,namely Glucoiberin(IBE); Progoitrin(PRO);Sinigrin(SIN);Glucoraphanin(RAA);Gluconapin(NAP);4-Hydroxyglucobrassicin(4OH);Glucobrassicin(GBC);4-Methoxyglucobrassicin(4ME);Neoglucobrassicin(NEO).Total glucosinolate content in flowers was 1-5 times higher than in leaves. 10Material decomposition of spectral CT images via attention-based global convolutional generative adversarial network显示文摘Spectral computed tomography(CT)based on photon counting detectors can resolve the energy of every single photon interacting with the sensor layer and be used to analyze material attenuation information under different energy ranges,which can be helpful for material decomposition studies.However,there is a considerable amount of inherent quantum noise in narrow energy bins,resulting in a low signal-to-noise ratio,which can consequently affect the material decomposition performance in the image domain.Deep learning technology is currently widely used in medical image segmentation,denoising,and recognition.In order to improve the results of material decomposition,we propose an attention-based global convolutional generative adversarial network(AGC-GAN)to decompose different materials for spectral CT.Specifically,our network is a global convolutional neural network based on an attention mechanism that is combined with a generative adversarial network.The global convolutional network based on the attention mechanism is used as the generator,and a patchGAN discriminant network is used as the discriminator.Meanwhile,a clinical spectral CT image dataset is used to verify the feasibility of our proposed approach.Extensive experimental results demonstrate that AGC-GAN achieves a better material decomposition performance than vanilla U-Net,fully convolutional network,and fully convolutional denseNet.Remarkably,the mean intersection over union,structural similarity,mean precision,PAcc,and mean F1-score of our method reach up to 87.31%,94.83%,93.22%,97.39%,and 93.05%,respectively.Xiaodong Guo Peng He Xiaojie Lv Xuezhi Ren Yonghui Li Yuanfeng Liu Xiaohua Lei Peng Feng Hongming Shan 2023Nuclear Science and Techniques2023,34,3:0
