| 3 | Multiple Cropping Intensity in China Derived from Agro-meteorological Observations and MODIS Data显示文摘Double-and triple-cropping in a year have played a very important role in meeting the rising need for food in China.However,the intensified agricultural practices have significantly altered biogeochemical cycles and soil quality.Understanding and mapping cropping intensity in China′s agricultural systems are therefore necessary to better estimate carbon,nitrogen and water fluxes within agro-ecosystems on the national scale.In this study,we investigated the spatial pattern of crop calendar and multiple cropping rotations in China using phenological records from 394 agro-meteorological stations(AMSs)across China.The results from the analysis of in situ field observations were used to develop a new algorithm that identifies the spatial distribution of multiple cropping in China from moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer(MODIS)time series data with a 500 m spatial resolution and an 8-day temporal resolution.According to the MODIS-derived multiple cropping distribution in 2002,the proportion of cropland cultivated with multiple crops reached 34%in China.Double-cropping accounted for approximately 94.6%and triple-cropping for 5.4%.The results demonstrat that MODIS EVI(Enhanced Vegetation Index)time series data have the capability and potential to delineate the dynamics of double-and triple-cropping practices.The resultant multiple cropping map could be used to evaluate the impacts of agricultural intensification on biogeochemical cycles. | YAN Huimin XIAO Xiangming HUANG Heqing LIU Jiyuan CHEN Jingqing BAI Xuehong | 2014 | Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,2: | 11 |
| 4 | Shrinking and Drying up of Baiyangdian Lake Wetland:A Natural or Human Cause?显示文摘The shrinking and drying up of wetlands in arid and semiarid areas of China have been widely observed in the recent years,but there has been no consensus on whether the aggravation is caused by human activities or by global climate warming.For a better understanding of the cause,this study investigates the dynamic changes of Baiyangdian Lake wetland over the last 40 years.It is shown that since the 1980s,Baiyangdian Lake has suffered from an insufficient water input and shrunk considerably.By using SPSS11.0,this study undertakes a detailed analysis on the significance of the effects of the possible driving factors for the degradation.It is identified that the North China Plain has been warming up significantly in recent years,which causes a significant reduction in the precipitation and inflow to the lake.Although human disturbances such as the irrigation and storage of water in reservoirs do not play a decisive role,they accelerate the degradation and their effects should be minimized. | LIU Chunlan XIE Gaodi HUANG Heqing | 2006 | Chinese Geographical Science2006,16,4: | 9 |
| 5 | Gentiopicroside targets PAQR3 to activate the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and ameliorate disordered glucose and lipid metabolism显示文摘The obstruction of post-insulin receptor signaling is the main mechanism of insulin-resistant diabetes.Progestin and adipoQ receptor 3(PAQR3),a key regulator of inflammation and metabolism,can negatively regulate the PI3 K/AKT signaling pathway.Here,we report that gentiopicroside(GPS),the main bioactive secoiridoid glycoside of Gentiana manshurica Kitagawa,decreased lipid synthesis and increased glucose utilization in palmitic acid(PA) treated HepG2 cells.Additionally,GPS improved glycolipid metabolism in streptozotocin(STZ) treated high-fat diet(HFD)-induced diabetic mice.Our findings revealed that GPS promoted the activation of the PI3 K/AKT axis by facilitating DNA-binding protein 2(DDB2)-mediated PAQR3 ubiquitinated degradation.Moreover,results of surface plasmon resonance(SPR),microscale thermophoresis(MST) and thermal shift assay(TSA) indicated that GPS directly binds to PAQR3.Results of molecular docking and cellular thermal shift assay(CETSA) revealed that GPS directly bound to the amino acids of the PAQR3 NH2-terminus including Leu40,Asp42,Glu69,Tyr125 and Ser129,and spatially inhibited the interaction between PAQR3 and the PI3 K catalytic subunit(P110α) to restore the PI3 K/AKT signaling pathway.In summary,our study identified GPS,which inhibits PAQR3 expression and directly targets PAQR3 to restore insulin signaling pathway,as a potential drug candidate for the treatment of diabetes. | Haiming Xiao Xiaohong Sun Zeyuan Lin Yan Yang Meng Zhang Zhanchi Xu Peiqing Liu Zhongqiu Liu Heqing Huang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,6: | 7 |

| 11 | Cardiorespiratory Effects of Indoor Ozone Exposure Associated with Changes in Metabolic Profiles among Children:A Repeated-Measure Panel Study显示文摘Ozone is one of the major gaseous pollutants associated with short-term adverse cardiopulmonary effects,even at concentrations below the current indoor air quality limits.However,the underlying biological mechanisms of cardiorespiratory changes with exposure to ozone remain unclear.To further explore molecular linkages between indoor ozone exposure and relevant cardiorespiratory effects,a repeated-measure panel study including 46 schoolchildren was conducted and real-time exposure measurements including ozone were performed inside classrooms every weekday during the study period.Repeated health measurements and urine sample collection were conducted in each participant.Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry and meet-in-metabolite approach were used in metabolomics analysis.Methods including mixed-effect models were adopted to identify metabolites associated with ozone exposure or health indices.Nine metabolites were found to be associated with ozone after mixed-effect model analysis,which are mainly involved in amino acid and bile acid metabolism.Boys may have a greater decrease in bile acid and RNA related metabolites.Four of the nine ozone-related metabolites were also associated with cardiorespiratory function indices.Furthermore,26.67%of the positive association between ozone and heart rate was mediated by cholestane-3,7,12,25-tetrol-3-glucuronide.Exposure to ozone below the current indoor standards was associated with the deteriorated cardiovascular function by disturbing bile acid and endogenous nitric oxide-related oxidation and inflammation,and associated with the exacerbated airway inflammation by reducing GPx-related anti-oxidation.The results provide metabolic evidence of the cardiorespiratory effects of indoor ozone exposure.Indoor ozone pollution should be controlled further,and more attention should be paid to preventing its adverse health effects,especially in children. | Shan Liu Qingyu Huang Xi Zhang Wei Dong Wenlou Zhang Shaowei Wu Di Yang Bingru Nan Jie Zhang Heqing Shen Xinbiao Guo Furong Deng | 2021 | The Innovation2021,2,1: | 1 |

| 18 | Synthesis and Properties of Novel Epoxidized Soybean Oil-modified Phenolic Resin /Montmorillonite Nanocomposites显示文摘The novel epoxidized soybean oil-modified-phenolic resin/clay nanocomposites(ESO-M-PR/CN) was prepared. The coupling agent-benzyldimethylphenylammonium chloride [C6H5CH2N+(CH3)2C6H5Cl-,B2MP] was adopted to modify the interface between the organic and inorganic phases. The effect of the nanocomposite structure on its physical and chemical properties was discussed. During the synthesizing process of ESO-M-PR/CN, the phenol hydroxyl was etherified by ESO or ESO epoxy resin prepolymer to provide long ESO epoxy segments. Long ESO epoxy resin chain segments enhanced the crosslink density of ESO-M-PR/CN. The thermal and mechanical properties exhibit a significant improvement. The temperature at which a weight loss of 5% occurs increases from 287.1 ℃ to 402.3 ℃. The flexural strength increases by 25%, while the flexural modulus increases by 39%. Moreover, the properties of resin were enhanced by the effect of the inorganic nanoparticles, while the size of the nanomontmorillonites in the phenolic resin was characterized with a scanning electron microscope.
