| 1 | Effects of functionally graded materials on dynamics of molecular bond clusters显示文摘Unlike nonspecific adhesion of conventional hard materials in engineering commonly described by JKR and DMT type models,the molecular adhesion via specific receptor-ligand bonds is stochastic by nature and has the feature that its strength strongly depends on the medium stiffness surrounding the adhesion.In this paper,we demonstrate in a stochastic-elasticity framework that a type of materials with linearly graded elastic modulus can be designed to achieve 'equal load sharing' and enhanced cooperative rebinding among interfacial molecular bonds.Upon modulus gradation,multiple molecular bonds can be elastically decoupled but statistically cooperative.In general,uniform molecular adhesion can be accomplished by two strategies:homogeneous materials with sufficient stiffness higher than a threshold or heterogeneous materials satisfying the criterion on modulus gradation.These results not only provide a theoretical principle for possible applications of functionally graded materials in quantitatively controlling cell-matrix adhesion,but also have general implications on adhesion between soft materials mediated by specific molecular binding. | ZHANG WenLiang QIAN Jin YAO HaiMin CHEN WeiQiu GAO HuaJian | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,6: | 3 |

| 11 | Molecular movements of trehalose inside a single network enabling a rapidly-recoverable tough hydrogel显示文摘It remains a challenge to achieve rapidly recoverable hydrogels by molecular hydrogen-bonding interaction because of its slow inter-action kinetics.This work for the first time reports a trehalose(Tre)-based molecular movement mechanism inside a single network of polyacrylamide(PAM)that accelerates the kinetics of hydrogenbonding interaction,and thereby endows the hydrogel with high toughness and rapid shape and mechanical recoverability.The resultant PAM@Tre hydrogel is capable of full shape recovery after 10,000 loading/unloading cycles at a strain of 500%.Even after being stretched at a strain of 2500%,it can recover to its original shape within 10 seconds.Moreover,the molecular movement of trehalose also endows the PAM@Tre hydrogel with fracture energy and toughness as high as~9000 J m^(-2) and~1600 kJ m^(-3),respec-tively,leading to strong resistance to both static and dynamic piercing.The PAM@Tre hydrogel is thus believed to have enormous potentials in protection devices,bionic skin,soft actuator,and stretchable electronics. | Xiaowen Huang Jimin Fu Huiyan Tan Yan Miu Mengda Xu Qiuhua Zhao Yujie Xie Shengtong Sun Haimin Yao Lidong Zhang | 2022 | International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,4: | 0 |

| 13 | Theoretical and experimental study on the self-excited vibration of a flexible rotor system with floating spline显示文摘The internal friction of floating spline can cause self-excited vibration of a supercritical flexible rotor system.To address this issue,a high-efficiency dynamic modeling method is proposed to investigate the self-excited vibration behavior and instability evolution of the rotor.Experiments are conducted to validate the theoretical results.The coupled dynamic equations for the rotor system connected with the floating spline are derived through the combination of finite element method and lumped parameter model.A hybrid numerical approach of precise integration and Runge-Kutta method is adopted to examine the effects of the friction coefficient of spline’s tooth surface,torque,and eccentricity on the self-excited vibration of the rotor system.The results show that the spline friction leads to negative damping and inputs energy into the rotor system under supercritical conditions,triggering self-excited vibration when the input energy exceeds a specific level.With the same parameters,the experimentally obtained axial trajectory and primary frequency components are consistent with the theoretical results,verifying the accuracy of the proposed theoretical model.This study can serve as a useful theoretical guide for the dynamic stability design of flexible rotor systems with the floating spline. | Haimin ZHU Li ZHANG Qingzhang CHEN Miaomiao LI Dan WANG Jia YAO Rupeng ZHU | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,12: | 0 |
