| 3 | Conventional tillage improves the storage of soil organic carbon in heavy fractions in the Loess Plateau, China显示文摘Soil labile organic carbon(C) plays an important role in improving soil quality. The relatively stable fractions of soil organic C(SOC) represent the bulk of SOC, and are also the primary determinant of the long-term C balance of terrestrial ecosystems. Different land use types can influence the distribution patterns of different SOC fractions. However, the underlying mechanisms are not well understood. In the present study, different fractions of SOC were determined in two land use types: a grazed grassland(established on previously cultivated cropland 25 years ago, GG) and a long-term cultivated millet cropland(MC). The results showed that C concentration and C storage of light fractions(LF) and heavy fractions(HF) presented different patterns along the soil profiles in the two sites. More plant residues in GG resulted in 91.9% higher LF storage at the 0–10 cm soil depth, further contributed to 21.9% higher SOC storage at this soil depth; SOC storage at 20–60 cm soil depth in MC was 98.8% higher than that in GG, which could be mainly attributed to the HF storage 104.5% higher than in GG. This might be caused by the long-term application of organic manure, as well as the protection from plough pan and silt- and clay-sized particles. | 5 | The abundance,characteristics and diversity of microplastics in the South China Sea:Observation around three remote islands显示文摘Surrounded by emerging markets with considerable plastic consumption,the South China Sea has been a focus area of microplastic research.A survey on the floating microplastics(>0.3 mm)and microplastics ingested by fish and mollusks was conducted around three remote islands here.Compared with the results from several previous studies,a high abundance of floating microplastics(with a median of 1.9×10^(5)items/km^(2) or 0.7 items/m^(3))was observed,revealing another“hot spot”for microplastics.Polyolefin,especially polypropylene,was the main component.The diversity index and evenness index were calculated and evaluated based on the composition of microplastics.The characteristic peaks of Raman spectra concerning pigmented microplastics were provided.Transparent sheets/films were predominant in the water sample,which was quite different from a similar study in this sea area(8.9%for film),and only 16.4%of floating microplastics(>0.3 mm)were fibers/lines,implying that the main sources of floating microplastics(>0.3 mm)might be household/agricultural consumption activities.The transparent fiber/line was also dominant in organisms.It is suggested that the main sources of microplastics ingested by organisms might be both fabric fibers and fishing/aquaculture. | Hongzhe Chen Sumin Wang Huige Guo Yunlong Huo Hui Lin Yuanbiao Zhang | 2022 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,1: | 0 |
| 6 | Identification and characteristic analysis of enhancers across 13 major cancer types显示文摘Enhancers are often mutated and dysregulated in various diseases such as cancer.By integrating the function annotation of the mammalian genome(FANTOM)enhancers expression profiles and RNA-seq data from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)of 13 cancers and their corresponding para-cancerous tissues,we systematically identified a total of 4702 significantly differentially expressed(DE)enhancers.Furthermore,a total of 1036 DE genes regulated by DE enhancerswere identified.Itwas found that in these 13 cancers,most(61.13%)enhancers were ubiquitously expressed,whereas DE enhancers were more likely to be tissue-specific expressed,and the DE genes regulated by DE enhancers were significantly enriched in cancer-related pathways.Finally,it was manifested that 74 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were located in 37 DE enhancers,and these SNPs affected the gain and loss of functional transcription factor binding sites of 758 transcription factors,which were shown to be highly correlated with tumorigenesis and development. | Mingming Qian Wenzhu Wang Yana Zhang Yi Zhao Huige Quan Yuting Chen Xinyue Dai Zhiyun Guo | 2021 | Precision Clinical Medicine2021,4,3: | 0 |
| 7 | STING and TLR9 agonists synergistically enhance the immunogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 subunit vaccine显示文摘Vaccines that are reliable and efficacious are essential in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.In this study,we designed a dual-adjuvant system with two pathogen-associated molecular patterns(PAMPs),MnOx and CpG.This system can improve the retention of antigens at the injection site,facilitate pro-inflammatory cytokines secretion,further recruit and activate dendritic cells(DCs).As a result,antigens can be delivered to lymph nodes specifically,and adaptive immunity was strengthened.The immunized group showed an enhanced and broadened humoral and cellular immune response in systemic immunity and lung protection when combined with a tandem repeat-linked dimeric antigen version of the SARS-CoV-2 receptor binding domain(RBDdimer).Remarkably,even with a significant reduction in antigen dosage(three times lower)and a decrease in injection frequencies,our nanovaccine was able to produce the highest neutralizing antibody titers against various mutants.These titers were four-fold higher for the wild-type strain and two-fold higher for both the Beta and Omicron variants in comparison with those elicited by the Alum adjuvant group.In conclusion,our dual-adjuvant formulation presents a promising protein subunit-based candidate vaccine against SARS-CoV-2. | Yang Li Ziwei Chen Xinyi Lu Jiufeng Sun Mengyu Guo Huige Zhou Ru Bai Yuliang Zhao Chunying Chen Yaling Wang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,12: | 0 |
