| 1 | Highly fractionated granites:Recognition and research显示文摘Granite is one of the most important components of the continental crust on our Earth; it thus has been an enduring studied subject in geology. According to present knowledge, granite shows a great deal of heterogeneity in terms of its texture,structure, mineral species and geochemical compositions at different scales from small dike to large batholith. However, the reasons for these variations are not well understood although numerous interpretations have been proposed. The key point of this debate is whether granitic magma can be effectively differentiated through fractional crystallization, and, if so, what kind of crystallization occurred during the magmatic evolution. Although granitic magma has high viscosity because of its elevated SiO2 content, we agree that fractional crystallization is effectively processed during its evolution based on the evidence from field investigation,mineral species and its chemical variations, and geochemical compositions. These data indicate that crystal settling by gravitation is not the only mechanism dominating granitic differentiation. On the contrary, flow segregation or dynamic sorting may be more important. Accordingly, granite can be divided into unfractionated, fractionated(including weakly fractionated and highly fractionated) and cumulated types, according to the differentiation degree. Highly fractionated granitic magmas are generally high in primary temperature or high with various volatiles during the later stage, which make the fractional crystallization much easier than the common granitic melts. In addition, effective magmatic differentiation can be also expected when the magma emplaced along a large scale of extensional structure. Highly fractionated granitic magma is easily contaminated by country rocks due to its relatively prolonged crystallization time. Thus, granites do not always reflect the characteristics of the source areas and the physical and chemical conditions of the primary magma. | 2 | A preliminary study of rare-metal mineralization in the Himalayan leucogranite belts, South Tibet显示文摘The Himalayan leucogranite occurs as two extensive(>1000 km) E-W trending belts on the Tibetan Plateau with the unique features. The leucogranite comprised biotite granite, two-mica/muscovite granite, tourmaline granite and garnet granite, which have been identified in previous studies, as well as albite granite and granitic pegmatite that were identified in this investigation. Fifteen leucogranite plutons were studied and 12 were found to contain rare-metal bearing minerals such as beryl(the representative of Be mineralization), columbite-group minerals, tapiolite, pyrochlore-microlite, fergusonite, Nb-Ta rutile(the representative of Nb-Ta mineralization), and cassiterite(the representative of Sn mineralization) mainly based on the field trip,microscope observation and microprobe analysis. The preliminary result shows that the Himalayan leucogranite is commonly related to the rare-metal mineralization and warrants future investigation. | 3 | From Golden Rice to aSTARice:Bioengineering Astaxanthin Biosynthesis in Rice Endosperm显示文摘Carotenoids are important phytonutrients with antioxidant properties,and are widely used in foods and feedstuffs as Supplements.Astaxanthin,a red-colored ketocarotenoid,has strong antioxidant activity and thus can benefit human health.However,astaxanthin is not produced in most higher plants.Here we report the bioengineering of astaxanthin biosynthesis in rice endosperm by introducing four synthetic genes,sZmPSY1,sPaCrtl,sCrBKT,and sHpBHY,which encode the enzymes phytoene synthase,phytoene desaturase,β-carotene ketolase,and β-carotene hydroxylase,respectively.Transgneic overexpression of two (sZmPSY1 and sPaCrtl),three (sZmPSY1,sPaCrtl and sCrBKT),and all these four genes driven by rice endosperm-specific promoters established the Carotenoid/ketocarotenoid/astaxanthin biosynthetic pathways in the endosperm and thus resulted in various types of germplasm,from the yellow-grained β-caro- tene-enriched Golden Rice to orange-red-grained Canthaxanthin Rice and Astaxanthin Rice,respectively. | 4 | Establishment of the diploid gynogenetic hybrid clonal line of red crucian carp × common carp显示文摘This study investigated the gynogenetic cytobiological behavior of the third gynogenetic generation (G3), which was generated from the diploid eggs produced by the second gynogenetic generation (G2) of red crucian carp × common carp, and determined the chromosomal numbers of G3, G2×scatter scale carp and G2×allotetraploid hybrids of red crucian carp × common carp. The results showed that the diploid eggs of G2 with 100 chromosomes, activated by UV-irradiated sperm from scatter scale carp and without the treatment for doubling the chromosomes, could develop into G3 with 100 chromosomes. Similar to the first and second gynogenetic generations (G1 and G2), G3 was also diploid (2n=100) and presented the hybrid traits. The triploids (3n=150) and tetraploids (4n=200) were produced by crossing G2 with scatter scale carp and crossing G2 with allotetraploids, respectively. The extrusion of the second polar body in the eggs of G2 ruled out the possibility that the retention of the second polar body led to the formation of the diploid eggs. In addition, we discussed the mechanism of the formation of the diploid eggs generated by G2. The establishment of the diploid gynogenesis clonal line (G1, G2 and G3) provided the evidence that the diploid eggs were able to develop into a new diploid hybrid clonal line by gynogenesis. | 6 | In situ optical backpropagation training of diffractive optical neural networks显示文摘Training an artificial neural network with backpropagation algorithms to perform advanced machine learning tasks requires an extensive computational process.This paper proposes to implement the backpropagation algorithm optically for in situ training of both linear and nonlinear diffractive optical neural networlks,which enables the acceleration of training speed and improvement in energy efficiency on core computing modules.We demonstrate that the gradient of a loss function with respect to the weights of diffractive layers can be accurately calculated by measuring the forward and backward propagated optical fields based on light reciprocity and phase conjunction principles.The diffractive modulation weights are updated by programming a high-speed spatial light modulator to minimize the error between prediction and target output and perform inference tasks at the speed of light.We numerically validate the effectiveness of our approach on simulated networks for various applications.The proposed in situ optical learning architecture achieves accuracy comparable to in silico training with an electronic computer on the tasks of object dlassification and matrix-vector multiplication,which further allows the diffractive optical neural network to adapt to system imperfections.Also,the self-adaptive property of our approach facilitates the novel application of the network for all-optical imaging through scattering media.The proposed approach paves the way for robust implementation of large-scale difractive neural networks to perform distinctive tasks all-optically. | TIANKUANG ZHOU LU FANG TAO YAN JIAMIN WU YIPENG LI JINGTAO FAN HUAQIANG WU XING LIN QIONGHAI DA | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,6: | 11 |

| 9 | Middle-Miocene transformation of tectonic regime in the Himalayan orogen显示文摘Understanding the multiple tectonic transformations during the Himalayan orogeny is significant in evaluating the evolution of Himalayan orogen.In the Gyirong area in south Tibet,deformed leucogranitic veins in the biotite-plagioclase gneisses of Greater Himalayan crystalline complex(GHC) constitute south-vergent asymmetric folds.The reconstruction of the veins shows that they experienced two generations of deformation under different tectonic regimes:an earlier top-to-north extension and a later top-to-south thrusting,implying a tectonic transformation from N-S extension to N-S shortening.Zircons LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of the leucogranite shows that it was emplaced during 21.03-18.7 Ma.The data suggest that the tectonic transformation occurred after 18.7 Ma.The chronological data of South Tibet detachment system(STDS) and North-South trending rift(NSTR) from Gyirong and other areas indicate that the Himalayan orogeny was in a period of tectonic transformation from N-S extension to N-S shortening during 19-13 Ma.The transformation of tectonic regime was probably controlled by the India-Asia convergence rate.An increase in the convergence rate resulted in N-S shortening of the orogen,thrusting and folding,with coeval formation of the NSTR in Tibet.A decrease in the convergence rate led to N-S extension and reactivation of the STDS. | WANG XiaoXian ZHANG JinJiang LIU Jiang YAN ShuYu WANG JiaMin | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,1: | 8 |

| 11 | Responses of Patients with Disorders of Consciousness to Habit Stimulation:A Quantitative EEG Study显示文摘Whether habit stimulation is effective in DOC patient arousal has not been reported. In this paper, we analyzed the responses of DOC patients to habit stimulation. Nineteen DOC patients with alcohol consumption or smoking habits were recruited and 64-channel EEG signals were acquired both at the resting state and at three stimulation states. Wavelet transformation and nonlinear dynamics were used to extract the features of EEG signals and four brain lobes were selected to investigate the degree of EEG response to habit stimulation. Results showed that the highest degree of EEG response was from the callname stimulation, followed by habit and music stimulations. Significant differences in EEG wavelet energy and response coefficient were found both between habit and music stimulation, and between habit and call-name stimulation. | 12 | Complete nucleotide sequence and genomic organization of Periplaneta fuliginosa densonucleosis virus显示文摘We have cloned the replicative form of the Periplaneta fuliginosa densonucleosis virus (PfDNV) genome and determined its complete sequence. The sequence has 5 454 nucleotides (nt), the genome consists of an internal unique sequence flanked by inverted terminal repeats (201 nt). The first 122 nt at the 5’end and the terminal 122 nt at the 3’end of both plus and minus strands can fold into a typical hairpin structure. The genome contains seven major open reading frames (ORFs). The plus strand has 4 ORFs occupying the 5’half of the plus strand, whereas the others span the 5’ half of the minus strand. Two potential promoters were found at map units (m.u.) 3 and 97. | 15 | Characterization of transient groundwater flow through a high arch dam foundation during reservoir impounding显示文摘Even though a large number of large-scale arch dams with height larger than 200 m have been built in the world, the transient groundwater flow behaviors and the seepage control effects in the dam foundations under difficult geological conditions are rarely reported. This paper presents a case study on the transient groundwater flow behaviors in the rock foundation of Jinping I double-curvature arch dam, the world's highest dam of this type to date that has been completed. Taking into account the geological settings at the site, an inverse modeling technique utilizing the time series measurements of both hydraulic head and discharge was adopted to back-calculate the permeability of the foundation rocks,which effectively improves the uniqueness and reliability of the inverse modeling results. The transient seepage flow in the dam foundation during the reservoir impounding was then modeled with a parabolic variational inequality(PVI) method. | 16 | A new type of triploid crucian crap—red crucian carp (♀)×allotetraploid (♂)显示文摘A new type of triploid hybrids (TC) was produced by crossing red crucian carp (♀) with allotetraploid hybrids (♂). This type of triploids with no barbel was spindle-shaped and gray in color. Compared with their parents, some data of the morphological traits in the triploid hybrids were intermediate to those of their parents, and some were beyond their parents with heterozygous traits. Under the same culture conditions, the growth rate of the new type triploids was faster than their maternal red crucian carp (RC). The gonadal development of triploids was obviously slower than that of diploids, and the germ cells in them were degenerated. Compared with another type of triploids produced by Japanese crucian carp (♀) with allotetraploid hybrids (♂), the new type triploids not only kept faster growth rate and sterility, but also had no barbel that was similar to the common carp. | 18 | Rapid denudation of the Himalayan orogen in the Nyalam area,southern Tibet, since the Pliocene and implications for tectonics–climate coupling显示文摘The Himalayan orogen characterized by very high variability in tectonic and climatic processes,and is thus regarded as a natural laboratory for investigating the coupling of tectonics and climate,as well as the influence of this coupling on geomorphological processes.This study uses apatite fission track(AFT)dating of samples from a45-km-long section crossing the Great Himalaya Crystalline Complex(GHC)in the Nyalam area,southern Tibet,to constrain the timing and rate of late Cenozoic denudation.The AFT ages can be divided into two groups:(1)15–6 Ma,to the north of Nyalam town,for which the bestfit line of elevation-age has a gentle slope of 0.05,and for which a denudation rate of 0.27 mm/a is calculated;and(2)3–1 Ma,south of Nyalam town,for which the best-fit line has a steep slope of 0.64,and for which a denudation rate of 1.32 mm/a is calculated.The whole AFT ages has a positive correlation with sample elevation(i.e.,older ages are found at higher elevations),and the geographical location of the point of inflexion of the two fitted lines corresponds closely to the junction of Poqu River near Nyalam town.By integrating the AFT data with thermotectonic modeling,it can be inferred that the GHC has experienced two different periods of denudation:(1)slow denudation during middle to late Miocene(15–6 Ma)is recorded in the northern part of the GHC;and(2)rapid denudation from the Pliocene to the Pleistocene(3–1 Ma)is recorded in the southern part of the GHC.An abrupt change in denudation rate occurred between the two periods,with the Pliocene–Pleistocene denudation rate being five times higher than that during the Miocene.This abrupt change in denudation rate during Pliocene pervaded the Himalayan orogen,and was roughly synchronous with a marked change in global climate at 4–3 Ma,and intensification of the Asian monsoon.Importantly,the later period of rapid denudation in the study region closely coupled to the mean annual precipitation,while there is no clear evidence for large-scale faulting activity and associated uplift during this period.Therefore,climate(precipitation)is inferred to be the main cause of the rapid denudation of the Himalayan orogen since the Pliocene. | Yong Zheng Jinjiang Zhang Jiamin Wang Bo Zhang Xiaoxian Wang Meng Wang | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,9: | 5 |

| 20 | Multi-domain Lightweight Asymmetric Group Key Agreement显示文摘The terminals in mobile cloud computing have themselves the special characteristics, such as mobile flexibility, distributed in different domains, resourceconstraint and easily to be captured et al. The terminals in mobile cloud computing participated the collaborative computing, information exchange and sharing secrets may come from different domains, different networks or different clouds. For this complex network environment the paper proposes a Multi-domain lightweight Asymmetric group key agreement(ML-AGKA). It adopts the bilinear mapping and blind key technology to achieve an asymmetric group key agreement protocol among mobile terminals distributed in different domains, proposes a computation and communication migration technologies to ensure that the mobile terminals are lightweight computing and communication consumption. The protocol can also achieve anonymity and authentication.
