| 1 | Comparing the Diagnostic Criteria for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus of World Health Organization 2013 with 1999 in Chinese Population显示文摘INTRODUCTION Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) was earlier defined as 'hyperglycemia first recognized during pregnancy' and has more recently been described by American Diabetes Association (ADA) (2012) as diabetes diagnosed during pregnancy that is not clearly overt diabetes.[1] The hyperglycemia and adverse pregnancy outcomes study (HAPO) demonstrated that the risk of adverse maternal,fetal,and neonatal outcomes continuously increase as a function of maternal glycemia at 24-28 weeks,even within ranges previously considered normal for pregnancy.[2] After reviewing the results of the HAPO study,many international diabetes study groups,including the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups and ADA have adopted the 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) at 24-28 weeks as a screening and diagnostic test and defined new cut-off values for GDM diagnosis.The Ministry of Health of China published the criteria for GDM,that is the same as the ADA criteria on July 1,2011.World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended the 75 g OGTT with different cut-offvalues as a diagnostic test since 1999,changed its recommendation on 2013.In Hongkong and Yunnan province in China,most hospital adopted the WHO 1999 criteria,nevertheless,there is no evidence of multicenter and large sample to show that the GDM population within the same ethnic group diagnosed by the new WHO criteria matches those diagnosed by the old one and consistency between the two criteria has not been reported.Thus,we conducted this study to analyze the two criteria in Chinese pregnant women. | Weiwei Zhu Huixia Yang Yumei Wei Zilian Wang Xuelan Li Hairong Wu Nan Li Meihua Zhang Xinghui Liu Hua Zhang Yunhui Wang Jianmin Niu Yujie Gan Liruo Zhong Yunfeng Wang Anil Kapur | 2015 | Chinese Medical Journal2015,,1: | 42 |
| 2 | Host compatibility interacts with seed dispersal to determine smallscale distribution of a mistletoe in Xishuangbanna,Southwest China显示文摘Aims Mistletoe infection between intra- and interspecific hosts can be restricted by seed dispersal, host–mistletoe compatibility and other factors, yet few studies have linked seed dispersal and seedling establishment together for understanding mistletoe plant distribution and demography together in different anthropogenic disturbance forest types at a local scale. The objectives of this study were to examine how three factors—seed disperser behavior, post-dispersal host compatibility and canopy cover—affect the spatial distribution of a generalist mistletoe Dendrophthoe pentandra (Loranthaceae) in plantation and rainforest within Xishuangbanna, Southwest China.MethodsWe observed mistletoe D. pentandra infection patterns at the scale of individual trees and sixteen 400-m2 forest plots in adjacent plantation and rainforest within Xishuangbanna. To elucidate what determines infection patterns at different scales and in different forest types, we observed the behavior of major avian seed dispersers and carried out a seed inoculation experiment to examine how post-dispersal compatibility and light incidence affect the infection of different hosts.Important FindingsDendrophthoe pentandra displayed an aggregated distribution and infected 10 species in our study site, with a significantly higher infection prevalence and intensity in the plantation than in the tropical forest. Different seed dispersers provided contrasting initial mistletoe templates: the specialist frugivore Dicaeum concolor (plain flowerpecker) preferred to fly between mistletoes in infected trees in the plantation and likely intensified existing infections. In contrast, the dietary generalist Pycnonotus jocosus(red-whiskered bulbul) was more likely to visit uninfected trees, thereby establishing new infections. Thus, seed dispersal appears to be an important determinant of the mistletoes distribution, with deposition patterns providing an initial distribution template and determining small-scale patterns. However, post-dispersal and abiotic factors revealed that different host compatibilities and levels of light incidence in different habitats affected the survival of D. pentandra seedlings. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. | 6 | Atmospheric gaseous organic acids in winter in a rural site of the North China Plain显示文摘Organic acids are important contributors to the acidity of atmospheric precipitation,but their existence in the Chinese atmosphere is largely unclear.In this study,twelve atmospheric gaseous organic acids,including C_(1)-C_(9) alkanoic acids,methacrylic acid,pyruvic acid,and benzoic acid,were observed in the suburb of Wangdu,Hebei Province,a typical rural site in the northern China plain from 16^(th) December,2018 to 22^(nd) January,2019,using a Vocus■ Proton-Transfer-Reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometer(Vocus PTR-ToF).The quantification of C_(2)-C_(4) alkanoic acids by the Vocus PTR-ToF was calibrated according to the titration of a NaOH solution by C_(2)-C_(4) alkanoic acids from home-made permeation sources,and the other organic acids except for formic acid were quantified based on the k_(cap)-sensitivity linearity in the Vocus PTR-ToF,whereas formic acid was not quantified because our instrument setting led to a significant underestimation in its concentration.The average total concentration of eleven gaseous organic acids was 6.96±5.20 ppbv(parts per billion by volume).The average concentration of acetic acid was the highest(3.86±3.00 ppbv),followed by propanoic acid,butyric acid,and methacrylic acid.Domestic straw burning was likely the dominant source of the observed gaseous organic acids according to the good correlations between acetonitrile and organic acids and between particulate K+and organic acids,and traffic emissions could also have contributed.During episodes with continuously high concentrations of organic acids,short-distance transport dominated in Wangdu according to the backward trajectory analysis.Baoding,Shijiazhuang,and Hengshui areas were the main source areas based on potential source contribution function and concentration weighing track analysis. | Xiaoyu Hu Gan Yang Yiliang Liu Yiqun Lu Yuwei Wang Hui Chen Jianmin Chen Lin Wang | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,3: | 1 |
| 7 | Distributional patterns of soil nematodes in relation to environmental variables in forest ecosystems显示文摘Understanding biodiversity and biogeographic distribution of soil fauna is an important topic in ecology.While nematode communities have been compared among ecosystems,knowledge remains limited about how environmental factors and nematode distributions are linked at different spatial scales.Hare,we employed high-throughput sequencing to compare nematode communities in tropical(Xishuangbanna),subtropical(Ailaoshan),and cold temperate spruce-fir(Lijiang)forest ecosystems with identical spatial sampling.Relationships between nematode communities and environmental factors were analyzed using redundancy analysis(RDA).Our results showed that nematode richness and diversity peaked in Xishuangbanna;however,no significant differences were observed in other two forest ecosystems.Bacterial feeders and Omnivores/Camivores(Om&Ca)had the lowest relative abundance,but the highest diversity,in Xishuangbanna,with the opposite pattem being detected for fungal and plant feeders.Our data also demonstrated that,for forest ecosystems,climate factors drive nematode communities distributions at the regional scale,while terrain and soil characteristics(including pH and nutrients)drive nematode communities distributions at local scales.This study improves our current understanding of key factors(environmental parameters)responsible for the biogeographical distribution of forest nematode communities at different spatial scales. | HAIFENG XIAO WENTING WANG SHANGWEN XIA Zhipeng Li Jianmin Gan Xiaodong Yang | 2021 | Soil Ecology Letters2021,3,2: | 1 |
