| 1 | New index of ferromanganese crusts reflecting oceanic environmental oxidation显示文摘Ferromanganese crusts (hereinafter crusts) form in aerobic environment and the environmental oxida-tion degree is recorded by the redox sensitive element Co in the crusts. The ages of the layers from the surface to bottom of the crusts are determined, and main element contents at high resolution along the depth sections of three crusts from the Pacific Ocean are analyzed by an electron microprobe. Thus the variations of Co/(Fe+Mn) and Co/(Ni+Cu) with age/depth of the crust layers are obtained. By comparing the ratios of Co/(Fe+Mn) and Co/(Ni+Cu) with the δ 18O curves of the Pacific benthic foraminifera, we find that these two ratios can reflect the variation of the environmental oxidation state under which the crust layers deposit. The evolution of the oxidation degree reflected by the two indexes resembles the evo-lution of temperature since the Oligocene reflected by the δ 18O curves of the Pacific benthic foraminif-era. This suggests that the crust-forming environment after the Oligocene is controlled mainly by the oxygen-rich bottom water originated from the Antarctic bottom water (AABW). However it is not the case prior to the Oligocene. Furthermore it suggests that the environmental oxidation degree controls the formation of the crusts and the Co contents in the crusts. | 2 | Temperature-controlled ionic liquid dispersive liquid phase microextraction combined with ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography for the rapid determination of triclosan,triclocarban and methyl-triclosan in aqueous samples显示文摘As extraction solvents,ionic liquids have green characteristics.In this study,an environmentally benign analytical method termed temperature-controlled ionic liquid dispersive liquid phase microextraction (TIL-DLME) combined with ultra-highpressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC)-tunable ultraviolet detection (TUV) was developed for the pre-concentration and determination of triclosan (TCS),triclocarban (TCC) and methyl-triclosan (M-TCS) in water samples.Significant parameters that may affect extraction efficiencies were examined and optimized,including the types and amount of ionic liquids,volume of the diluent,heating temperature,cooling time,salt effect and pH value.Under the optimum conditions,linearity of the method was observed in the ranges of 0.0100-100 μgL-1 for TCS and M-TCS,and 0.00500-50.0 μgL-1 for TCC with correlation coefficients (r2) > 0.9903.The limits of detection (LODs) ranged from 1.15 to 5.33 ngL-1.TCS in domestic water and TCC in reclaimed water were detected at the concentrations of 1.01 and 0.126 μgL-1,respectively.The spiked recoveries of the three target compounds in reclaimed water,irrigating water,waste water and domestic water samples were obtained in the ranges of 68.4%-71.9%,61.6%-87.8%,58.9%-74.9% and 64.9%-92.4%,respectively.Compared with the previous dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method (DLLME) about the determination of TCS,TCC and M-TCS,this method is not only more environmentally friendly but also more sensitive. | GUO JieHong 1,2,LI XingHong 2,CAO XueLi 1,QU Lei 2,3,HOU DeKun 2 & XU XiaoBai 2 1 School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering,Beijing Technology and Business University,Beijing 100048,China 2 State Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Eco-toxicology Research Center of Eco-Environmental Sciences,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100085,China 3 Zhengzhou University,Zhengzhou 450001,China | 2010 | Science China Chemistry2010,53,12: | 5 |
| 3 | Protective effects of effective ingredients of Danshen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae)and Honghua (Flos Carthami)compatibility after rat hippocampal neurons induced by hypoxia injury显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effective ingredients of Danshen(Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae) and Honghua(Flos Carthami)(Danhong) on protective properties towards neonatal rat hippocampal neurons under hypoxia condition.METHODS: Primary culture of neonatal rat hippocampal neurons was used to model hypoxia damage on the hippocampus. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT) assay and preliminary experiments were conducted to identify the four effective ingredients of Danhong, along with the injection of positive drug onto hippocampal neurons at a non-toxic dosage level. The cultured cells were randomly divided into 12 groups: the normal group, model group,positive drug control group and nine compatibility groups of the four effective ingredients. Different test methods were applied to determine lactate dehydrogenasein(LDH), total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD), malondialdehyde(MDA), 6-keto prostaglandin F_(la)(6-keto-PGF_(1 a)), thromboxane B_2(TXB_2),mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP), free calcium ions concentration([Ca^(2 +)]i) and early onsetcell apoptosis.RESULTS: Different compatibility groups could inhibit the content of LDH and intracellular calcium overload, increase activity in T-SOD, decrease level of MDA and TXB2, improve level of 6-keto-PGF1 aand MMP, and prevent the early onset cell apoptosis.CONCLUSION: The compatibility of four effective ingredients of Danhong had protective effect toward hippocampi hypoxia. | 4 | Sources of Subseasonal Prediction Skill for Heatwaves over the Yangtze River Basin Revealed from Three S2S Models显示文摘Based on the reforecast data(1999–2010)of three operational models[the China Meteorological Administration(CMA),the National Centers for Environmental Prediction of the U.S.(NCEP)and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)]that participated in the Subseasonal to Seasonal Prediction(S2S)project,we identified the major sources of subseasonal prediction skill for heatwaves over the Yangtze River basin(YRB).The three models show limited prediction skills in terms of the fraction of correct predictions for heatwave days in summer;the Heidke Skill Score drops quickly after a 5-day forecast lead and falls down close to zero beyond the lead time of 15 days.The superior skill of the ECMWF model in predicting the intensity and duration of the YRB heatwave is attributable to its fidelity in capturing the phase evolution and amplitude of high-pressure anomalies associated with the intraseasonal oscillation and the dryness of soil moisture induced by less precipitation via the land–atmosphere coupling.The effects of 10–30-day and 30–90-day circulation prediction skills on heatwave predictions are comparable at shorter forecast leads(10 days),while the biases in 30–90-day circulation amplitude prediction show close connection with the degradation of heatwave prediction skill at longer forecast leads(>15–20 days).The biases of intraseasonal circulation anomalies further affect precipitation anomalies and thus land conditions,causing difficulty in capturing extremely hot days and their persistence in the S2S models. | Jiehong XIE Jinhua YU Haishan CHEN Pang-Chi HSU | 2020 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,12: | 3 |
| 5 | Efficacy and safety of high-dose esomeprazole–amoxicillin dual therapy for Helicobacter pylori rescue treatment:a multicenter,prospective,randomized,controlled trial显示文摘Background:High-dose dual therapy(HDDT)with proton pump inhibitors(PPIs)and amoxicillin has attracted widespread attention due to its favorable efficacy in eradicating Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori).This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of high-dose PPI-amoxicillin dual therapy and bismuth-containing quadruple therapy for H.pylori rescue treatment.Methods:This was a prospective,randomized,multicenter,non-inferiority trial.Patients recruited from eight centers who had failed previous treatment were randomly(1:1)allocated to two eradication groups:HDDT(esomeprazole 40 mg and amoxicillin 1000 mg three times daily;theHDDTgroup)and bismuth-containing quadruple therapy(esomeprazole 40 mg,bismuth potassium citrate 220 mg,and furazolidone 100 mg twice daily,combined with tetracycline 500 mg three times daily;the tetracycline,furazolidone,esomeprazole,and bismuth[TFEB]group)for 14 days.The primary endpoint was the H.pylori eradication rate.The secondary endpoints were adverse effects,symptom improvement rates,and patient compliance.Results:A total of 658 patients who met the criteria were enrolled in this study.The HDDT group achieved eradication rates of 75.4%(248/329),81.0%(248/306),and 81.3%(248/305)asdetermined by the intention-to-treat(ITT),modified intention-totreat(MITT),and per-protocol(PP)analyses,respectively.The eradication rates were similar to those in the TFEB group:78.1%(257/329),84.2%(257/305),and 85.1%(257/302).The lower 95%confidence interval boundary(9.19%in the ITT analysis,9.21%in the MITT analysis,and9.73%in the PP analysis)was greater than the predefined non-inferiority margin of10%,establishing a non-inferiority of the HDDT group vs.the TFEB group.The incidence of adverse events in the HDDT group was significantly lower than that in the TFEB group(11.1%vs.26.8%,P<0.001).Symptom improvement rates and patients’compliance were similar between the two groups.Conclusions:Fourteen-day HDDT is non-inferior to bismuth-containing quadruple therapy,with fewer adverse effects and good treatment compliance,suggesting HDDT as an alternative for H.pylori rescue treatment in the local region.Trial registration:Clinicaltrials.gov,NCT04678492. | Hanxin Bi Xingxing Chen Yuxin Chen Xin Zhao Shasha Wang Jiehong Wang Ting Lyu Shuang Han Tao Lin Mingquan Li Donghong Yuan Junye Liu Yongquan Shi | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,14: | 3 |

| 17 | Comparison of the clinical features and therapeutics of COVID-19 in cardio-cerebrovascular disease(CCVD)and non-CCVD patients显示文摘Cardio-cerebrovascular disease(CCVD)is a major comorbidity of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).However,the clinical characteristics and outcomes remain unclear.In this study,102 cases of COVID-19 from January 22,2020 to March 26,2020 in Xixi Hospital of Hangzhou were included.Twenty cases had pre-existing CCVD.Results showed that compared with non-CCVD patients,those with CCVD are more likely to develop severe disease(15%versus 1%),and the proportion of pneumonia severity index grade IV was significantly higher(25%versus 3.6%).Computed tomography images demonstrated that the proportion of multiple lobe lesion involvement was significantly higher in the CCVD group than in the non-CCVD group(90%versus 63.4%).Compared with non-CCVD group,the levels of C-reactive protein,fibrinogen,D-dimer,and serum amyloid-A were higher,whereas the total protein and arterial partial Pa02 were lower in the CCVD group.Although no statistical difference was observed in the outcomes between groups,CCVD patients received more intensive comprehensive treatment to improve COVID-19 symptoms compared with non-CCVD patients.Integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatments have certain advantages in controlling the severe conversion rate and mortality of COVID-19.In addition,given that COVID-19 patients are usually related to coagulation disorders and thrombosis risk,the application of Chinese medicine in promoting blood circulation and removing stasis should be strengthened. | Yu Wang Lan Li Yuanjiang Pan Yu He Zuhua Chen Yunhao Xun Yuhan Xu Yilei Guo Jiehong Yang Jianchun Guo Haitong Wan | 2021 | Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,4: | 1 |

| 19 | Disastrous Persistent Extreme Rainfall Events of the 2022 Pre-Flood Season in South China:Causes and Subseasonal Predictions显示文摘Two persistent extreme rainfall events(PEREs) with record-breaking amounts of rainfall and long duration caused disastrous impact during the 2022 pre-flood season in South China. Atmospheric intraseasonal variability played a key role in triggering and maintaining both PEREs, but its major impact on each event was associated with different modes. For the first PERE(10-15 May;PERE1), the tropical and extratropical quasi-biweekly oscillations jointly contributed to the extreme rainfall intensity. In contrast, the long duration(6-21 June) of the heavy rainfall during the second PERE(PERE2) was closely related to prolonged convection and moisture transport anomalies induced mainly by the tropical 30-90-day variability. Subseasonal-to-seasonal predictions by the model of the ECMWF showed limited skill in relation to the rainfall intensity of PERE1 and PERE2 beyond 1–2 weeks. Further assessment suggested that the fidelity of the PERE predictions was linked to model skill in predicting the phase evolution and intensity of tropical and extratropical intraseasonal variabilities.
