| 1 | The Zoulang Nanshan Caledonian Subduct ion Complex in the Northern Qilian Mountains and Its Dynamics显示文摘The front of the Zoulang Nanshan Caledonian volcanic island arc zone in the northern Qilian Mountains is a forearc accretionary terrane, composed of multiple accretionary volcanic island arcs, flysch accretionary wedges,high-pressure metamorphosed detachment zones and remnants of ophiolites. It resulted from the northeastward subduction of the Early Palaeozoic Qilan oceanic crust beneath the Alxa block. High-pressure metamorphism, which occurred during the subduction, progressed through three stages: the initial stage of medium T-high P,the main stage of temperature decrease and pressure increase, and the lag stage of pressure decrease and temperature increase. | 2 | Numerical study of the effects of local atmospheric circulations on a pollution event over Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, China显示文摘Currently, the Chinese central government is considering plans to build a trilateral economic sphere in the Bohai Bay area, including Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei(BTH), where haze pollution frequently occurs. To achieve sustainable development, it is necessary to understand the physical mechanism of the haze pollution there. Therefore, the pollutant transport mechanisms of a haze event over the BTH region from 23 to 24 September 2011 were studied using the Weather Research and Forecasting model and the FLEXible-PARTicle dispersion model to understand the effects of the local atmospheric circulations and atmospheric boundary layer structure. Results suggested that the penetration by sea-breeze could strengthen the vertical dispersion by lifting up the planetary boundary layer height(PBLH) and carry the local pollutants to the downstream areas; in the early night, two elevated pollution layers(EPLs) may be generated over the mountain areas: the pollutants in the upper EPL at the altitude of 2–2.5 km were favored to disperse by long-range transport, while the lower EPL at the altitude of 1 km may serve as a reservoir, and the pollutants there could be transported downward and contribute to the surface air pollution.The intensity of the sea–land and mountain–valley breeze circulations played an important role in the vertical transport and distribution of pollutants. | 4 | Effects of Annealing on Microstructure, Mechanical and Electrical Properties of AlCrCuFeMnTi High Entropy Alloy显示文摘The multi-component AlCrCuFeMnTi high entropy alloy was prepared using a vacuum arc melting process. Serial annealing processes were subsequently performed at 590 ℃, 750 ℃, 955 ℃ and 1 100 ℃ respectively with a holding time of 4 h at each temperature. The effects of annealing on microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties of as-cast alloy were investigated by using differential thermal analysis(DTA), X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The experimental results show that two C14 hexagonal structures remain unchanged after annealing the as-cast AlCrCuFeMnTi alloy specimens being heated to 1 100 ℃. Both annealed and as-cast microstructures show typical cast-dendrite morphology and similar elemental segregation. The hardness of alloys declines as the annealing temperature increases while the strength of as-cast alloy improves obviously by the annealing treatment. | 5 | Hierarchically electrospraying a PLGA@chitosan sphere-in-sphere composite microsphere for multi-drug-controlled release显示文摘Sequential administration and controlled release of different drugs are of vital importance for regulating cellular behaviors and tissue regeneration,which usually demands appropriate carriers like microspheres(MS)to control drugs releases.Electrospray has been proven an effective technique to prepare MS with uniform particle size and high drug-loading rate.In this study,we applied electrospray to simply and hierarchically fabricate sphere-in-sphere composite microspheres,with smaller poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)MS(~8-10 lm in diameter)embedded in a larger chitosan MS(~250-300 lm in diameter).The scanning electron microscopy images revealed highly uniform MS that can be accurately controlled by adjusting the nozzle diameter or voltage.Two kinds of model drugs,bovine serum albumin and chlorhexidine acetate,were encapsulated in the microspheres.The fluorescence-labeled rhodamine-fluoresceine isothiocyanate(Rho-FITC)and ultraviolet(UV)spectrophotometry results suggested that loaded drugs got excellent distribution in microspheres,as well as sustained,slow release in vitro.In addition,far-UV circular dichroism and matrixassisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF-MS)results indicated original secondary structure and molecular weight of drugs after electrospraying.Generally speaking,our research proposed a modified hierarchically electrospraying technique to prepare sphere-in-sphere composite MS with two different drugs loaded,which could be applied in sequential,multi-modality therapy. | Zhu Liu Weilong Ye Jingchuan Zheng Qindong Wang Guowu Ma Huiying Liu Xiumei Wang | 2020 | Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,4: | 5 |
| 6 | Profiling and bioinformatics analysis of differentially expressed circular RNAs in human intervertebral disc degeneration显示文摘The functional changes of nucleus pulposus (NP) cells are considered to be the initiating factors of intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD), and the differentially expressed circRNAs in NP cells may play an important role in the process of IDD. To identify circular RNAs (circRNAs) associated with human IDD, we isolated the NP cells from human degenerated and non-degenerated intervertebral disc and identified NP cells by microscopy and cell proliferation. CircRNA microarray expression profiles were obtained from NP cells of degenerated and non-degenerated intervertebral disc and further validated by quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRTPCR). The expression data were analyzed by bioinformatics. Microarray analysis identified 7294 circRNAs differentially expressed in degenerated human IDD NP cells. Among them, 3724 circRNAs were up-regulated and 3570 circRNAs were down-regulated by more than 2 folds. After validating by qRT-PCR, we predicted the possible miRNAs of the top dysregulated circRNAs using TargetScan, and miRanda. Furthermore, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis showed that the most modulated circRNAs regulate the viability, degradation, apoptosis and oxidative stress in NP cells, and the possible mechanism underlying IDD was discussed. The coating consists of Si continuous phase and MoSi2 particles. | 19 | Weakened interlayer coupling in two-dimensional MoSe2 flakes with screw dislocations显示文摘The screw dislocations are intriguing defects that are often observed in natural and artificial materials. The dislocation spirals break the reflection and inversion symmetries of the lattices and modify the interlayer coupling in layer-structured materials, inducing additional complexity in layer stacking and thus novel properties in materials. Here, we report on the interlayer coupling of two-dimensional (2D) MoSe2 flakes with screw dislocations by atomic force microscopy (AFM), Raman spectra and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. By controlling the supersaturation conditions, 2D MoSe2 flakes with screw dislocations are grown on amorphous SiO2 substrates by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). AFM measurements reveal that the interlayer spacing in such 2D MoSe2 flakes with screw dislocation is slightly widened with respect to the normal AA- or AB-stacked ones due to the presence of the screw dislocations. Raman and PL spectra show that the interlayer coupling is weaker and thus the band gap is wider than that in the normal AA- or AB-stacked ones.
