| 2 | Improving SIMD Utilization with Thread-Lane Shuffled Compaction in GPGPU显示文摘GPGPUs adopt SIMT execution model in which each logical thread in a warp corresponds to a SIMD lane while can still follow an independent control flow.When a branch divergence appears and threads within a warp take different execution paths, GPGPUs have to execute each path serially through SIMD lane masking, which potentially decreases the SIMD utilization and performance. We propose an efficient thread compaction mechanism to handle branch divergence with a novel register file structure. We also develop a new thread scheduling policy cooperating with our compaction mechanism. | 5 | Effect of Mg/Al Ratios on Hydration Mechanism of Tabular Alumina Carbon Composites Reinforced by Al4C3 in situ Reaction显示文摘Hydration mechanism of tabular alumina carbon composites reinforced by Al_4C_3 in situ reaction with Mg and Al was researched in water steam using super automatic thermostatic water bath from 25 ℃ to 85 ℃. It is shown that hydration mechanism of the composites is chemical reaction control at 44.3 ℃-84 ℃ in H_2O(g). The hydration was controlled by diffusion from 24.7 ℃ to 33 ℃. The ratio of added Mg/Al influences the HMOR of the composites.The mechanism of HMOR of the composites with different ratios of Mg/Al can be discovered by means of SEM analysis. The active Mg/Al powder and flake graphite inside give the composites outstanding hot strength resulting from the interlocking structure of Al_4C_3 crystals at high temperature. Besides, the matrix changes into the Al_4C_3 with high refractoriness. | 8 | Design and Optimization of Winograd Convolution on Array Accelerator显示文摘With the rapid development and popularization of artificial intelligence technology,convolutional neural network(CNN)is applied in many fields,and begins to replace most traditional algorithms and gradually deploys to terminal devices.However,the huge data movement and computational complexity of CNN bring huge power consumption and performance challenges to the hardware,which hinders the application of CNN in embedded devices such as smartphones and smart cars.This paper implements a convolutional neural network accelerator based on Winograd convolution algorithm on field-programmable gate array(FPGA).Firstly,a convolution kernel decomposition method for Winograd convolution is proposed.The convolution kernel larger than 3×3 is divided into multiple 3×3 convolution kernels for convolution operation,and the unsynchronized long convolution operation is processed.Then,we design Winograd convolution array and use configurable multiplier to flexibly realize multiplication for data with different accuracy.Experimental results on VGG16 and AlexNet network show that our accelerator has the most energy efficient and 101 times that of the CPU,5.8 times that of the GPU.At the same time,it has higher energy efficiency than other convolutional neural network accelerators. | Ji Lai Lixin Yang Dejian Li Chongfei Shen Xi Feng Jizeng Wei Yu Liu | 2023 | Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2023,32,1: | 0 |

| 11 | 3DT-CM: A Low-complexity Cross-matching Algorithm for Large Astronomical Catalogues Using 3d-tree Approach显示文摘Location-based cross-matching is a preprocessing step in astronomy that aims to identify records belonging to the same celestial body based on the angular distance formula. The traditional approach involves comparing each record in one catalog with every record in the other catalog, resulting in a one-to-one comparison with high computational complexity. To reduce the computational time, index partitioning methods are used to divide the sky into regions and perform local cross-matching. In addition, cross-matching algorithms have been adopted on highperformance architectures to improve their efficiency. But the index partitioning methods and computation architectures only increase the degree of parallelism, and cannot decrease the complexity of pairwise-based crossmatching algorithm itself. A better algorithm is needed to further improve the performance of cross-matching algorithm. In this paper, we propose a 3d-tree-based cross-matching algorithm that converts the angular distance formula into an equivalent 3dEuclidean distance and uses 3d-tree method to reduce the overall computational complexity and to avoid boundary issues. Furthermore, we demonstrate the superiority of the 3d-tree approach over the 2d-tree method and implement it using a multi-threading technique during both the construction and querying phases. We have experimentally evaluated the proposed 3d-tree cross-matching algorithm using publicly available catalog data.
