1Somatic Embryogenesis Receptor Kinases Control Root Development Mainly via Brassinosteroid-Independent Actions in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Brassinosteroids(BRs),a group of plant steroidal hormones,play critical roles in many aspects of plant growth and development.Previous studies showed that BRI1-mediated BR signaling regulates cell division and differentiation during Arabidopsis root development via interplaying with auxin and other phytohormones.Arabidopsis somatic embryogenesis receptor-like kinases(SERKs),as co-receptors of BRI1,were found to play a fundamental role in an early activation step of BR signaling pathway.Here we report a novel function of SERKs in regulating Arabidopsis root development.Genetic analyses indicated that SERKs control root growth mainly via a BR-independent pathway.Although BR signaling pathway is completely disrupted in the serk1 bak1 bkk1 triple mutant,the root growth of the triple mutant is much severely damaged than the BR deficiency or signaling null mutants.More detailed analyses indicated that the triple mutant exhibited drastically reduced expression of a number of genes critical to polar auxin transport,cell cycle,endodermis development and root meristem differentiation,which were not observed in null BR biosynthesis mutant cpd and null BR signaling mutant bri1-701.Junbo Du Hongju Yin Shasha Zhang Zhuoyun Wei Baolin Zhao Jinghua Zhang Xiaoping Gou Honghui Lin Jia Li 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,6:22
2Climatic and lake environmental changes in the Serling Co region of Tibet over a variety of timescales显示文摘The Serling Co region is located at the transitional zone of the interaction between the Indian monsoon and the westerlies over the Tibetan Plateau. The Serling Co lake covers a water area of2,389 km2(June 2017) in a 45,530 km2drainage basin. 3Hydrogen sulfide suppresses transforming growth factor-β1-induced differentiation of human cardiac fibroblasts into myofibroblasts显示文摘In heart disease, transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) converts fibroblasts into myofibroblasts, which synthesize and secrete fibrillar type I and III collagens. The purpose of the present study was to investigate how hydrogen sulfide(H2S) suppresses TGF-β1-induced differentiation of human cardiac fibroblasts to myofibroblasts. Human cardiac fibroblasts were serum-starved in fibroblast medium for 16 h before exposure to TGF-β1(10 ng m L-1) for 24 h with or without sodium hydrosulfide(Na HS, 100 μmol L-1, 30 min pretreatment) treatment. Na HS, an exogenous H2 S donor, potently inhibited the proliferation and migration of TGF-β1-induced human cardiac fibroblasts and regulated their cell cycle progression. Furthermore, Na HS treatment led to suppression of fibroblast differentiation into myofibroblasts, and reduced the levels of collagen, TGF-β1, and activated Smad3 in TGF-β1-induced human cardiac fibroblasts in vitro. We therefore conclude that H2 S suppresses TGF-β1-stimulated conversion of fibroblasts to myofibroblasts by inhibiting the TGF-β1/Smad3 signaling pathway, as well as by inhibiting the proliferation, migration, and cell cycle progression of human cardiac myofibroblasts. 5Active greeting technique: a mother-and-child catheter based technique to facilitate retrograde wire externalization in recanalization of coronary chronic total occlusion显示文摘Although retrograde approach has greatly improved the success rate of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) for coronary chronic total occlusion(CTO), retrograde wire externalization still remains challenging and time-consuming in some cases. Cases utilizing ‘‘Active Greeting Technique(AGT)', a mother-and-child catheter based technique to facilitate retrograde wire externalization, were extracted from Chronic Total Occlusion Club, China(CTOCC) database. AGT was performed by deep intubation a mother-and-child catheter(GuidezillaTMextension, 4 or 5 Fr inner catheter, and etc.) in combination with either reverse controlled antegrade or retrograde subintimal tracking(CART) technique or retrograde wire crossing technique. A total of 111 patients with 112 CTO lesions treated with this technique were retrospectively analyzed. Reverse CART technique and retrograde wire crossing technique were performed in 90.2% and 9.8% of all procedures. The utilization of GuidezillaTMextension, 4 Fr, and 5 Fr inner catheter accounted for 94.6%, 3.6%, and 1.8%, respectively. Externalization of retrograde wire was successful in all cases. No procedural complications were adjudicated to AGT. Complications independent of AGT included two target vessel perforations and two collateral perforations. No in-hospital major adverse cardiac events were found. 6Glycerol aerobic oxidation to glyceric acid over Pt/hydrotalcite catalysts at room temperature显示文摘Glycerol(GLY) aerobic oxidation in an aqueous solution is one of the most prospective pathways in biomass transformation, where the supported catalysts based on noble metals(mainly Au, Pd, Pt) are most commonly employed. Herein, Pt nanoparticles supported on rehydrated MgxAl1-hydrotalcite(denoted as re-MgxAl1-LDH-Pt) were prepared via impregnation-reduction method followed by an in situ rehydration process, which showed high activity and selectivity towards GLY oxidation to produce glyceric acid(GLYA) at room temperature. The metal-support interfacial structure and catalyst basicity were modulated by changing the Mg/Al molar ratio of the hydrotalcite precursor, and the optimal performance was achieved on re-Mg6Al1-LDH-Pt with a GLY conversion of 87.6% and a GLYA yield of 58.6%, which exceeded the traditional activated carbon and oxide supports. A combinative study on structural characterizations(XANES, CO-FTIR spectra, and benzoic acid titration) proves that a higher Mg/Al molar ratio promotes the formation of positively charged Ptd+species at metal-support interface, which accelerates bond cleavage of a-C–H and improves catalytic activity. Moreover, a higher Mg/Al molar ratio provides a stronger basicity of support that contributes to the oxidation of terminal-hydroxyl and thus enhances the selectivity of GLYA. 9Surface engineering at the interface of core/shell nanoparticles promotes hydrogen peroxide generation显示文摘Hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2), an environmentally friendly oxidant, has already been widely used in many chemical synthesis and industrials as an alternative to replace traditional oxidants including chlorinated oxidizers and strong acids. However, the conventional synthesis method confronts intense energy cost,tedious separation procedures and high cost, which is not competitive with traditional oxidants. Although direct H_2O_2 synthesis from H_2 and O_2 is a green and atomically economic reaction, satisfactory activity and desirable selectivity still remain formidable challenges. Herein, for the first time, a class of Pd@NiO-x nanoparticles(NPs)(x = 1, 2, 3 and 4) with a unique core@shell interface structure has been created to achieve high activity, selectivity and stability for the direct H_2O_2 synthesis. A precise thermal annealing on Pd@Ni-x NPs revealed that the resulting Pd@Ni O-x NPs exhibited the volcano-like activity toward direct H_2O_2 synthesis as a function of annealing temperature and time. 11Tat-functionalized Ag-Fe_3O_4 nano-composites as tissue-penetrating vehicles for tumor magnetic targeting and drug delivery显示文摘In this paper, we prepared a dual functional system based on dextrin-coated silver nanoparticles which were further attached with iron oxide nanoparticles and cell penetrating peptide(Tat), producing Tat-modified Ag-Fe_3O_4 nanocomposites(Tat-FeAgNPs). To load drugs, an –SH containing linker, 3-mercaptopropanohydrazide, was designed and synthesized. It enabled the silver carriers to load and release doxorubicin(Dox) in a pH-sensitive pattern. The delivery efficiency of this system was assessed in vitro using MCF-7 cells, and in vivo using null BalB/c mice bearing MCF-7 xenograft tumors. Our results demonstrated that both Tat and externally applied magnetic field could promote cellular uptake and consequently the cytotoxicity of doxorubicin-loaded nanoparticles,with the IC_(50) of Tat-FeAgNP-Dox to be 0.63 mmol/L. 13Distributed Real-time State Estimation for Combined Heat and Power Systems显示文摘This paper proposes a distributed real-time state estimation(RTSE)method for the combined heat and power systems(CHPSs).First,a difference-based model for the heat system is established considering the dynamics of heat systems.This heat system model is further used along with the power system steady-state model for holistic CHPS state estimation.A cubature Kalman filter(CKF)-based RTSE is developed to deal with the system nonlinearity while integrating both the historical and present measurement information.Finally,a multi-timescale asynchronous distributed computation scheme is designed to enhance the scalability of the proposed method for largescale systems.This distributed implementation requires only a small amount of information exchange and thus protects the privacy of different energy systems.Simulations carried out on two CHPSs show that the proposed method can significantly improve the estimation efficiency of CHPS without loss of accuracy compared with other existing models and methods.Tingting Zhang Wen Zhang Qi Zhao Yaxin Du Jian Chen Junbo Zhao 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,2:5
14The Effect of Bioturbation Activity of the Ark Clam Scapharca subcrenata on the Fluxes of Nutrient Exchange at the Sediment–Water Interface显示文摘Filter-feeding shellfish are common benthos and significantly affect the biogeochemical cycle in the shallow coastal ecosystems.Ark clam Scapharca subcrenata is one of the widely cultured bivalve species in many coastal areas owing to its tremendous economic value.However,there is little information regarding the effects of the bioturbation of S.subcrenata on the fluxes of nutrient exchange in the sediment-water interface(SWI).In this regard,S.subcrenata was sampled during October 2016 to determine the effects of its bioturbation activity on the nutrient exchange flux of the SWI.The results showed that the biological activity of S.subcrenata could increase the diffusion depth and the rate of the nutrients exchange in the sediments.The bioturbation of S.subcrenata could allow the nutrients to permeate into the surface sediments at 6-10cm and increase the release rate of nutrients at the SWI.The releasing fluxes of DIN and PO43−-P in the culture area were found to be around three times higher than that in the non-cultured region.The culture of S.subcrenata has been proved to be an important contributor to nutrient exchange across the SWI in the farming area of Haizhou Bay.Nutrients exchange in the SWI contributes a part of 86%DIN,71%PO43−-P and 18%SiO32−-Si for the aquaculture farm.ZHANG Shuo FANG Xin ZHANG Junbo YIN Fang ZHANG Hu WU Lizhen KITAZAWA Daisuke 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,1:4
15Real-time AGC dispatch units considering wind power and ramping capacity of thermal units显示文摘The high penetration of wind energy sources in power systems has substantially increased the demand for faster-ramping thermal units participating in the frequency regulation service.To fulfill the automatic generation control(AGC)and compensate the influence of wind power fluctuations simultaneously,ramping capacity should be considered in the dispatch model of thermals.Meanwhile,conventional methods in this area do not take the impact of transmission loss into the dispatch model,or rely on offline network model and parameters,failing to reflect the real relationships between the wind farms and thermal generators.This paper proposes an online approach for AGC dispatch units considering the above issues.Firstly,the power loss sensitivity is online identified using recursive least square method based on the real-time data of phasor measurement units.It sets up power balance constraint and results in a more accurate dispatch model.Then,an improved multi-objective optimization model of dispatch is proposed and a connection is established between the thermal units with fast ramping capacity and the wind farms with rapid fluctuations.Genetic algorithm is used to solve the dispatch model.The proposed method is compared with conventional methods in simulation case in the IEEE 30-bus system.Finally,simulation results verify the validity and the feasibility of identification method and optimization model.Jingyi ZHANG Chao LU Jie SONG Junbo ZHANG 2015Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,3:4
16Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted.Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,12:3
17Extranodal involvement in young patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: distribution, prognostic value and treatment options显示文摘Objective: Extranodal involvement represents a peculiar presentation of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL). Previous studies have suggested that older patients are more prone to extranodal involvement. This study retrospectively addressed the distribution, prognostic value and treatment options of extranodal involvement in young patients with DLBCL.Methods: A total of 329 patients were enrolled according to the inclusion requirements. The effects of gender,extranodal involvement, age-adjusted international prognostic index(aa IPI), rituximab infusion and radiotherapy on patient outcomes were evaluated.Results: Among these patients, 59% presented extranodal involvement in 16 anatomic sites. More than one instance was linked to many poorer clinical characteristics and poorer survival compared with either nodal disease or one instance. In patients with one extranodal lesion, multivariate analysis revealed that the site of extranodal involvement, but not the aa IPI or rituximab infusion, was independently related to the outcome, and radiotherapy had a negative influence on survival.Conclusions: Extranodal involvement is common in younger patients and exhibits a ubiquitous distribution.The site of extranodal involvement is of strong prognostic significance. 18Ultra-compact broadband polarization beam splitter with strong expansibility显示文摘Based on the traditional directional coupler, we proposed a scheme to design on-chip polarization beam splitters using an inverse design method. In our scheme, the coupling area of the designed devices are only 0.48 μm× 6.4 μm. By manipulating the refractive index of the coupling region, the devices can work in C-band,L-band, O-band, or any other communication band. Different from conventional design methods, which need to adjust the design parameters artificially, if the initial conditions are determined, the proposed scheme can automatically adjust the design parameters of devices according to specific requirements. The simulation results show that the insertion losses of the designed polarization beam splitters can be less than 0.4 dB(0.35 dB) for TE(TM)mode at the wavelengths of 1310, 1550, and 1600 nm, and the extinction ratios are larger than 19.9 dB for the TE and TM modes at all three wavelengths. Besides, the extinction ratios of both polarization states are more than 14.5 dB within the wavelength range of 1286–1364 nm, 1497–1568 nm, and 1553–1634 nm. In general, caking processes could be identified as amorphous caking or humidity caking. In this review, history of studying caking, formation, methods, and prospects of these two caking processes are summarized and discussed. The relevant studies from the 1920 s to today are mentioned briefly. According to the different properties(i.e. hygrocapacity, hygrosensitivity, mechanical properties, and diffusion behavior) of amorphous powders and crystals, the conditions and mechanisms of amorphous and humidity caking are discussed. It is summarized that glass transition, moisture sorption, quantitative methods characterizing caking, accelerated caking tests, and simulation of caking behaviors are the main aspects that should be studied for a caking process. The methods for these five aspects are reviewed. 20BYSL contributes to tumor growth by cooperating with the mTORC2 complex in gliomas显示文摘Objective:BYSL,which encodes the Bystin protein in humans,is upregulated in reactive astrocytes following brain damage and/or inflammation.We aimed to determine the role and mechanism of BYSL in glioma cell growth and survival.Methods:BYSL expression in glioma tissues was measured by quantitative real-time PCR,Western blot,and immunohistochemistry.In vitro assays were performed to assess the role of BYSL in cell proliferation and apoptosis.Protein interactions and co-localization were determined by co-immunoprecipitation and double immunofluorescence.The expression and activity of the AKT/m TOR signaling molecules were determined by Western blot analysis,and the role of BYSL in glioma growth was confirmed in an orthotopic xenograft model.Results:The BYSL m RNA and protein levels were elevated in glioma tissues.Silencing BYSL inhibited glioma cell proliferation,impeded cell cycle progression,and induced apoptosis,whereas overexpressing BYSL protein led to the opposite effects.We identified a complex consisting of BYSL,RIOK2,and m TOR,and observed co-localization and positive correlations between BYSL and RIOK2 in glioma cells and tissues.Overexpressing BYSL or RIOK2 increased the expression and activity of AKT/m TOR signaling molecules,whereas downregulation of BYSL or RIOK2 decreased the activity of AKT/m TOR signaling molecules.Silencing BYSL or RIOK2 decreased the growth of the tumors and prolonged the lifespan of the animals in an orthotopic xenograft model.Conclusions:High expression of BYSL in gliomas promoted tumor cell growth and survival both in vitro and in vivo.These effects could be attributed to the association of BYSL with RIOK2 and m TOR,and the subsequent activation of AKT signaling.Shangfeng Gao Zhuang Sha Junbo Zhou Yihao Wu Yunnong Song Cheng Li Xuejiao Liu Tong Zhang Rutong Yu 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1:3
