2Prediction of recent bank retreat processes at typical sections in the Jingjiang Reach显示文摘The Jingjiang Reach is experiencing continuous channel degradation owing to operation of the Three Gorges Project(TGP)in2003.Significant retreat processes at composite riverbanks have occurred at local sites of this reach,which may influence the stability of the river regime and the effect of existing river training works.Therefore,bank retreat plays a key role in fluvial processes of the Jingjiang Reach,and it is necessary to predict the long-term processes of bank retreat at typical sections in the reach.In this study,various factors influencing bank retreat in the Jingjiang Reach are investigated,based on bank erosion processes at four sections and the corresponding flow and sediment conditions.It is discovered that fluvial erosion intensity is a dominant factor in controlling the processes of bank retreat in the reach,although other factors,such as bank soil properties,can also influence bank retreat.The bankfull width at a section with severe bank erosion since 2002 is defined as being equal to the sum of the bankfull width in 2002 and the accumulated bank retreat distance after 2002.The magnitude of the bankfull width can be expressed as an exponential function of the previous 5-year average fluvial erosion intensity during flood seasons.The accumulated distances of bank retreat at four sections over the period 2002–2012 are predicted using the proposed empirical relationships,with the calculated bank retreat processes agreeing well with observed data.XIA JunQiang ZONG QuanLi ZHANG Yi XU QuanXi LI XiaoJuan 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,8:20

4Transition study of 3D aerodynamic configures using improved transport equations modeling显示文摘As boundary layer transition plays an important role in aerodynamic drag prediction,the proposal and study of transition prediction methods simulating the complex flow phenomena are prerequisite for aerodynamic design. In this paper, with the application of the linear stability theory based on amplification factor transport transition equations on the two-equation shear stress transport(SST) eddy-viscosity model, a new method, the SST-N TS-N CF model, is yielded. The new amplification factor transport equation for the crossflow instability induced transition is proposed to add to the N TS equation proposed by Coder, which simulates Tollmien–Schlichting wave transition. The turbulent kinetic energy equation is modified by introducing a new source term that simulates the transition process without the intermittency factor equation. Finally, coupled with these two amplification factor transport equations and SST turbulence model, a four-equation transition turbulence model is built. 5Improved local amplification factor transport equation for stationary crossflow instability in subsonic and transonic flows显示文摘Transition prediction is a hot research topic of fluid mechanics.For subsonic and transonic aerodynamic flows,e^(N) method based on Linear Stability Theory(LST)is usually adopted reliably to predict transition.In 2013,Coder and Maughmer established a transport equation for Tollmien-Schlichting(T-S)instability so that the e^(N) method can be applied to general Reynolds-Average-Navier-Stokes(RANS)solvers conveniently.However,this equation focuses on T-S instability,and is invalid for crossflow instability induced transition which plays a crucial role in flow instability of three-dimensional boundary layers.Subsequently,a transport equation for crossflow instability was developed in 2016,which is restricted to wing-like geometries.Then,in 2019,this model was extended to arbitrarily shaped geometries based on local variables.However,there are too many tedious functions and parameters in this version,and it can only be used for incompressible flows.Hence,in this paper,after a large amount of LST analyses and parameter optimization,an improved version for subsonic and transonic boundary layers is built.The present improved model is more robust and more concise,and it can be applied widely in aeronautical flows,which has great engineering application value and significance.An extensive validation study for this improved transition model will be performed.Jiakuan XU Lei QIAO Junqiang BAI 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,12:7
6Control of endwall secondary flow in a compressor cascade with dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuation显示文摘Three dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuators were mounted at the positions of 20%,40%and 60%of chord length on the endwall in a compressor cascade.The downstream flow field of the cascade has been measured with a mini five-hole pressure probe with and without the plasma actuation.The measured results show that the plasma actuation most effectively reduces total pressure loss and flow blockage when the actuators are operated simultaneously.As each of the actuators is operated independently,the actuator at the position of 20%of chord length most effectively reduces flow blockage, and the actuator at the position of 60%of chord length fairly reduces total pressure loss.However, negative pressure loss reduction occurs with the plasma actuator at the position of 40%of chord length.In brief,the plasma actuation placed on the endwall in the cascade apparently influences the endwall secondary flow,and the optimal locations and strength of actuation are critical for the control of endwall secondary flow in a compressor cascade with the plasma actuators.LI Gang XU YanJi LIN Bin ZHU JunQiang NIE ChaoQun MA HongWei WANG ZhaoFeng 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,12:5
7Characteristics and provenance implication of detrital minerals since Marine Isotope Stage 3 in Core SYS-0701 in the western South Huanghai Sea显示文摘The previous studies of the sedimentology and chronology of sediment core SYS-0701, which was recovered from the western South Huanghai Sea (Yellow Sea), have revealed the changes in the sea-level and sedimentary evolution during the late Quaternary in the region. The present study used mineralogical data from the section of the core deposited since Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 3, to decipher the provenance of sediments of the paleo-delta deposited during MIS 3 and MIS 1. Based on the lithologic features and the variations with depth of the concentrations of carbonates and both heavy and light minerals in bulk samples, the upper part of Core SYS-0701 can be divided into three units designated DU1, DU4, and DU5, in accord with previously used terminology. Sub-units of units DU1 (DU1-1 and DU1-2) and DU4 (DU4-1 and DU4-2) have also been identified. DU1 was deposited during MIS 1, and DU4 and DU 5 were formed during MIS 3. All data pertaining to dominant heavy mineral assemblages, diagnostic minerals, ratios of diagnostic minerals, light mineral associations, textural maturities, and carbonate contents, indicate that the sediments of Core SYS-0701 are comparable with Huanghe River (Yellow River) sediments. Moreover, the mineralogy of the sediment evidenced its dependence on supply rates and hydrodynamic conditions. 8Numerical Investigation of a High-subsonic Axial-flow Compressor Rotor with Non-axisymmetric Hub Endwall显示文摘The major source of loss in modern compressors is the secondary loss.Non-axisymmetric endwall profile contouring is now a well established design methodology in axial flow turbines.However,flow development in axial compressors is differ from turbines,the effects of non-axisymmetric endwall to axial compressors requires flow analysis in detail.This paper presents both experimental and numerical data to deal with the application of a non-axisymmetric hub endwall in a high-subsonic axial-flow compressor.The aims of the experiment here were to make sure the numerically obtained flow fields is the physical mechanism responsible for the improvement in efficiency,due to the non-axisymmetric hub endwall.The computational results were first compared with available measured data of axisymmetric hub endwall.The results agreed well with the experimental data for estimation of the global performance.The coupled flow of the compressor rotor with non-axisymmetric hub endwall was simulated by a state-of-the-art multi-block flow solver.The non-axisymmetric hub endwall was designed for a subsonic compressor rotor with the help of sine and cosine functions.This type of non-axisymmetric hub endwall was found to have a significant improvement in efficiency of 0.45% approximately and a slightly increase for the total pressure ratio.The fundamental mechanisms of non-axisymmetric hub endwall and their effects on the subsonic axial-flow compressor endwall flow field were analyzed in detail.It is concluded that the non-axisymmetric endwall profiling,though not optimum,can mitigate the secondary flow in the vicinity of the hub endwall,resulting in the improvement of aerodynamic performance of the compressor rotor.Shuzhen Hu Xingen Lu Hongwu Zhang Junqiang Zhu Qiang Xu 2010Journal of Thermal Science2010,19,1:4
9Optimizing combination of aircraft maintenance tasks by adaptive genetic algorithm based on cluster search显示文摘It is significant to combine multiple tasks into an optimal work package in decision-making of aircraft maintenance to reduce cost,so a cost rate model of combinatorial maintenance is an urgent need.However,the optimal combination under various constraints not only involves numerical calculations but also is an NP-hard combinatorial problem.To solve the problem,an adaptive genetic algorithm based on cluster search,which is divided into two phases,is put forward.In the first phase,according to the density,all individuals can be homogeneously scattered over the whole solution space through crossover and mutation and better individuals are collected as candidate cluster centres.In the second phase,the search is confined to the neighbourhood of some selected possible solutions to accurately solve with cluster radius decreasing slowly,meanwhile all clusters continuously move to better regions until all the peaks in the question space is searched.This algorithm can efficiently solve the combination problem.Taking the optimization on decision-making of aircraft maintenance by the algorithm for an example,maintenance which combines multiple parts or tasks can significantly enhance economic benefit when the halt cost is rather high.Huaiyuan Li Hongfu Zuo Kun Liang Juan Xu Jing Cai Junqiang Liu 2016Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2016,27,1:4
10Precise orbit determination for BDS satellites显示文摘Since the frst pair of BeiDou satellites was deployed in 2000,China has made continuous eforts to establish its own independent BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS)to provide the regional radio determination satellite service as well as regional and global radio navigation satellite services,which rely on the high quality of orbit and clock products.This article summarizes the achievements in the precise orbit determination(POD)of BDS satellites in the past decade with the focus on observation and orbit dynamic models.First,the disclosed metadata of BDS satellites is presented and the contribution to BDS POD is addressed.The complete optical properties of the satellite bus as well as solar panels are derived based on the absorbed parameters as well the material properties.Secondly,the status and tracking capabilities of the L-band data from accessible ground networks are presented,while some low earth orbiter satellites with onboard BDS tracking capability are listed.The topological structure and measurement scheme of BDS Inter-Satellite-Link(ISL)data are described.After highlighting the progress on observation models as well as orbit perturbations for BDS,e.g.,phase center corrections,satellite attitude,and solar radiation pressure,diferent POD strategies used for BDS are summarized.In addition,the urgent requirement for error modeling of the ISL data is emphasized based on the analysis of the observation noises,and the incompatible characteristics of orbit and clock derived with L-band and ISL data are illuminated and discussed.The further researches on the improvement of phase center calibration and orbit dynamic models,the refnement of ISL observation models,and the potential contribution of BDS to the estimation of geodetic parameters based on L-band or ISL data are identifed.With this,it is promising that BDS can achieve better performance and provides vital contributions to the geodesy and navigation.Qile Zhao Jing Guo Chen Wang Yifei Lyu Xiaolong Xu Chao Yang Junqiang Li 2022Satellite Navigation2022,3,1:4
11Site-Specifc Gene Targeting Using Transcription Activator-Like Effector(TALE)-Based Nuclease in Brassica oleracea显示文摘Site-specifc recognition modules with DNA nuclease have tremendous potential as molecular tools for genome targeting.The type III transcription activator-like effectors(TALEs)contain a DNA binding domain consisting of tandem repeats that can be engineered to bind user-defned specifc DNA sequences.We demonstrated that customized TALE-based nucleases(TALENs),constructed using a method called'unit assembly',specifcally target the endogenous FRIGIDA gene in Brassica oleracea L.var.capitata L.The results indicate that the TALENs bound to the target site and cleaved double-strand DNA in vitro and in vivo,whereas the effector binding elements have a 23 bp spacer.The T7 endonuclease I assay and sequencing data show that TALENs made double-strand breaks,which were repaired by a non-homologous end-joining pathway within the target sequence.These data show the feasibility of applying customized TALENs to target and modify the genome with deletions in those organisms that are still in lacking gene target methods to provide germplasms in breeding improvement.Zijian Sun Nianzu Li Guodong Huang Junqiang Xu Yu Pan Zhimin Wang Qinglin Tang Ming Song Xiaojia Wang 2013Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2013,55,11:3
12Numerical Study of Effect of Compressor Swirling Flow on Combustor Design in a MTE显示文摘An effect of the swirling flow on the combustion performance is studied by the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) in a micro-gas turbine with a centrifugal compressor, dump diffuser and forward-flow combustor. The distributions of air mass and the Temperature Pattern Factor(as: Overall Temperature Distribution Factor-OTDF) in outlet are investigated with two different swirling angles of compressed air as 0° and 15° in three combustors. The results show that the influences of swirling flow on the air distribution and OTDF cannot be neglected. Compared with no-swirling flow, the air through outer liner is more, and the air through the inner liner is less, and the pressure loss is bigger under the swirling condition in the same combustor. 15Correlation between Microstructure and Failure Mechanism of Hyriopsis cumingii Shell Structure显示文摘In nature,shells exhibit remarkable high toughness and impact resistance to the external load despite their brittle main constituent and simple hierarchical structure.In this work,the structure of the mussel shell Hyriopsis cumingii is analyzed by scanning electron micro scope and atomic force microscope,and the macro/micro compression and impact tests are perfonned.Results show that the shell has a three-layer structure:an outer cuticle layer,a prismatic layer,and a nacreous layer.The stiffer and load-dependent prismatic layer is conducive to improve the impact resistance of shell structure.Fracture morphology after failure proves that cracks are transgranularly propagated inside the prism and aragonite platelet,and the crack deflection and platelet pullout can effectively lock the stress,thereby eventually improving the impact-resistance and toughness of the shell.Zhen Zhang Jun Zhu Yajie Chu Zhengnian Chen Shun Guo Junqiang Xu 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,5:2

17Osseointegration of hollow porous titanium prostheses loaded with cancellous bone matrix in rabbits显示文摘This study aimed to observe the osseointegration of hollow porous titanium prostheses (HPTP) loaded with cancellous bone matrix (CBM) in rabbits using histological and biomechanical perspectives.Experimental samples were implanted into the lateral femoral condyles of 66 New Zealand rabbits,allocated into the following groups:non-porous prosthesis group (Group A,n=22);HPTP group (Group B,n=22);HPTP+CBM group (Group C,n=22).The rabbits were sacrificed at 3,8 and 12 weeks,postoperatively.X-ray analyses,microscopy techniques and morphological measurement software and mechanical tests were used for evaluation.At each time point,the tissues surrounding the implants were similar in all of the groups,with bony in-growth into the 2-mm round holes observed for the defects in Groups B and C.However,the internal bone formation was significantly better in Group C than in Group B at different time points (P<0.01).Biomechanically,the pull-out forces were significantly greater in Groups B and C than in Group A (P<0.01),with no difference between Groups B and C (P>0.05).These results suggest that bone can grow into the cavities of HPTP to achieve more stable locking fixation,and those osteogenic materials,such as CBM,can enhance osteogenesis to achieve better osseointegration between the implant and the host bone.WEI JunQiang CAI Xu WANG Yan ZHANG BoXun CHEN Hua ZHANG Li ZHAO Bin WANG AiYua 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,20:2
18Experimental Investigation on Ignition and Lean Blow-out Performance of a Multi-sector Centrally Staged Combustor显示文摘Improvement on extinction and pollution emission have become one of the most prominent research topics in gas turbine.It is widely recognized that the fuel/air mixture distribution in the recirculation zone is a critical factor in improving lean blow-out(LBO) and ignition.This paper proposed a new low emission scheme with fuel staged centrally and hybrid injector to improve flameout and emission.A relative small amount of fuel enters into central pilot airblast atomizer burner and then atomized by inner swirl air.The remaining majority of fuel is directly injected into vane channels of the primary swirler through a series of holes located on the sidewall of the main stage.Only pilot stage is fueled under ignition and lean flameout condition.The uniformity of fuel/air mixture distribution in the primary zone of the new design decreases NOX emission,meanwhile the fuel air mixture in pilot recirculation zone is locally rich to improve flameout and ignition.Experimental investigation was conducted to compare the new scheme with baseline design of dual-swirler in terms of LBO and ignition characteristics under the same condition in a multi-sector combustor.It is found that the fuel-air ratio of ignition limit and LBO decrease with the reference velocity increasing.The experimental results also show that the new scheme successfully improve lean blow-out and broaden the operation range of the combustor.The experimental results indicated that the centrally staged scheme can widen the operation boundary of the combustor and can provide guidance for design and optimization of combustion chamber.LIU Fuqiang ZHANG Kaiyu MU Yong LIU Cunxi YANG Jinhu Xu Gang ZHU Junqiang 2014Journal of Thermal Science2014,23,5:2
19Effects of the crystallization time on the mesoporous structure,texture, morphology and styrene oxidation performances of V-MCM-41显示文摘The new V-MCM-41 molecular sieves with good ordered hexagonal mesoporous structure and crystallinity were synthesized through in-situ hydrothermal preparation method. The effects of the crystallization time were discussed. The synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2adsorption/desorption, Fourier transformed infrared and scanning electron microscopy. The different structures, textures, morphologies of V-MCM-41 obtained with different crystallization times were observed and analyzed on the basis of the characterized results. The results showed that the V-MCM-41 molecular sieve obtained at 110 °C for 48 h crystallization times was of good spherical morphology, ordered hexagonal structure, most uniform pore size distribution and high surface area compared with other samples. Meanwhile, the V-MCM-41 molecular sieve with the high skeleton Si condensation and the good crystallinity was obtained. The heteroatom could be incorporated into MCM-41 framework with increasing crystallization times, which was beneficial to improve the catalytic activity and selectivity of pure siliceous MCM-41.
