1Simulation and analysis of the carrying capacity for road networks using a grid-based approach显示文摘The number of vehicles that a road network can carry is limited.When the limit is exceeded,the network system is not able to function effectively.In this paper,an updated cellular automaton model for grid networks with all-way stop-controlled intersections is proposed to simulate the network level critical density and carrying capacity under different conditions,which essentially indicates the limit number of vehicles that the network can handle before going into gridlock.In the proposed model,two update rules,including lane-changing and the longitudinal location update,are adopted to describe the vehicle’s movements on road segments according to the driving condition on the road and the vehicle’s direction in the downstream intersection.The vehicle’s movements in intersection areas are prioritized based on vehicle’s position,so as to prevent collisions within the intersection area.The simulation results show that an increase in network size is able to expand the carrying capacity of a road network,whereas the expansion rate is lower than the change rate in the network size.The carrying capacity is also associated with the structure of road network.The carrying capacity is inversely proportional to the number of intersections,and proportional to the length of the road in the network.Also,optimizing the origin-destination(O-D)distribution can increase the carrying capacity of an urban road network.Junqing Shi Linwu Chen Fengxiang Qiao Lei Yu Qing Li Guilian Fan 2020Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2020,7,4:3
2Double Primary Cancers in Extragastric Sites with Gastric Cancer: Report of Six Cases and Literature Review显示文摘OBJECTIVE To explore the clinical features, pathologiccharacteristics and prognosis of double primary malignant tumorswith involvement of the stomach and an extragastric site.METHODS We reviewed the records of 496 patients whounderwent surgery for gastric cancer in our department fromJanuary 2004 to December 2006. Synchronous double primarycancer was defined as an extragastric cancer diagnosed within a6-month interval before the detection of gastric cancer; any gastriccancer metastasis to other areas of the body was excluded.RESULTS Synchronous and metachronous double primarycancers were identified in 1 and in 5 patients, respectively. Theextragastric sites of the primary tumors in patients with gastriccancer were esophagus in 1 case, right colon in 1, rectum in 1,breast in 2 and lung in 1. Following gastric surgery, 5 patientsdied (within 2 mon, 24 mon, 30 mon, 48 mon and 60 mon). Only 1patient has survived and remains disease free.CONCLUSION The prognosis of patients with gastric cancerand a second primary is relatively poor. 6A K-nearest Neighbor Model to Predict Early Recurrence of Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Resection显示文摘Background and Aims:Patients with hepatocellular carci-noma(HCC)surgically resected are at risk of recurrence;however,the risk factors of recurrence remain poorly un-derstood.This study intended to establish a novel machine learning model based on clinical data for predicting early re-currence of HCC after resection.Methods:A total of 220 HCC patients who underwent resection were enrolled.Clas-sification machine learning models were developed to predict HCC recurrence.The standard deviation,recall,and preci-sion of the model were used to assess the model’s accura-cy and identify efficiency of the model.Results:Recurrent HCC developed in 89(40.45%)patients at a median time of 14 months from primary resection.In principal compo-nent analysis,tumor size,tumor grade differentiation,por-tal vein tumor thrombus,alpha-fetoprotein,protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-II(PIVKA-II),aspartate aminotransferase,platelet count,white blood cell count,and HBsAg were positive prognostic factors of HCC recurrence and were included in the preoperative model.After compar-ing different machine learning methods,including logistic re-gression,decision tree,naïve Bayes,deep neural networks,and k-nearest neighbor(K-NN),we choose the K-NN model as the optimal prediction model.The accuracy,recall,preci-sion of the K-NN model were 70.6%,51.9%,70.1%,respec-tively.The standard deviation was 0.020.Conclusions:The K-NN classification algorithm model performed better than the other classification models.Estimation of the recurrence rate of early HCC can help to allocate treatment,eventually achieving safe oncological outcomes.Chuanli Liu Hongli Yang Yuemin Feng Cuihong Liu Fajuan Rui Yuankui Cao Xinyu Hu Jiawen Xu Junqing Fan Qiang Zhu Jie Li 2022Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,4:0
