1Whole-genome sequencing provides insights into the genetic diversity and domestication of bitter gourd(Momordica spp.)显示文摘Bitter gourd(Momordica charantia)is a popular cultivated vegetable in Asian and African countries.To reveal the characteristics of the genomic structure,evolutionary trajectory,and genetic basis underlying the domestication of bitter gourd,we performed whole-genome sequencing of the cultivar Dali-11 and the wild small-fruited line TR and resequencing of 187 bitter gourd germplasms from 16 countries.The major gene clusters(Bi clusters)for the biosynthesis of cucurbitane triterpenoids,which confer a bitter taste,are highly conserved in cucumber,melon,and watermelon.Comparative analysis among cucurbit genomes revealed that the Bi cluster involved in cucurbitane triterpenoid biosynthesis is absent in bitter gourd.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the TR group,including 21 bitter gourd germplasms,may belong to a new species or subspecies independent from M.charantia.Furthermore,we found that the remaining 166 M.charantia germplasms are geographically differentiated,and we identified 710,412,and 290 candidate domestication genes in the South Asia,Southeast Asia,and China populations,respectively.This study provides new insights into bitter gourd genetic diversity and domestication and will facilitate the future genomics-enabled improvement of bitter gourd.Junjie Cui Yan Yang Shaobo Luo Le Wang Rukui Huang Qingfang Wen Xiaoxia Han Nansheng Miao Jiaowen Cheng Ziji Liu Changyuan Zhang Chengcheng Feng Haisheng Zhu Jianwen Su Xinjian Wan Fang Hu Yu Niu Xiaoming Zheng Yulan Yang Dai Shan Zhensheng Dong Weiming He Narinder P.S.Dhillon Kailin Hu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:7

3A strongly interactive adatom/substrate interface for dendrite-free and high-rate Li metal anodes显示文摘Lithium (Li) metal is considered as one of the most promising anode materials to build next-generation high-energy–density batteries. Nonetheless, dendritic Li deposition has dramatically hindered the practical applications of Li metal batteries (LMBs). Uniformizing Li deposition is a prerequisite to achieve safe and practical LMBs. Herein, an underpotential deposition (UPD) process is first proposed to alter the kinetic and uniformity of Li deposition morphology. Based on the strong interaction between the Li adatoms and manganese (Mn) based substrate, a competition between the UPD and bulk Li deposition is observed, on which the predominance of the UPD scenario tends to uniformize Li nucleation and deposition by the surface coverage of Li monolayers at potentials that are more positive than the Nernst potential of Li metal. 5Li^(+)Solvation Mediated Interfacial Kinetic of Alloying Matrix for Stable Li Anodes显示文摘Severe lithium(Li)dendrite growth caused by the uneven overpotential deposition is a formidable challenge for high energy density Li metal batteries(LMBs).Herein,we investigate a synergetic interfacial kinetic to regulate Li deposition behavior and stabilize Li metal anode.Through constructing Li alloying matrix with a bi-functional silver(Ag)-Li_(3)N blended interface,fast Li^(+)conductivity and high Li affinity can be achieved simultaneously,resulting in both decreased Li nucleation and mass transfercontrolled overpotentials.Beyond these properties,a more important feature is demonstrated herein;that is,the inward diffusion depth of the Li adatoms inside of the Ag site can be restricted by the Li^(+)solvation structure in a highly coordinating environment.The latter feature can ensure the durability of the operational Ag sites,thereby elongating the Li protection ability of the Ag-Li_(3)N interface greatly.This work provides a deep insight into the synergetic effect of functional alloying structure and Li^(+)solvation mediated interfacial kinetic on Li metal protection.Xingyi Wang Kailin Luo Lixin Xiong Tengpeng Xiong Zhendong Li Jie Sun Haiyong He Chuying Ouyang Zhe Peng 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,2:0
6ABI5–FLZ13 module transcriptionally represses growth-related genes to delay seed germination in response to ABA显示文摘The bZIP transcription factor ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE5(ABI5)is a master regulator of seed germination and post-germinative growth in response to abscisic acid(ABA),but the detailed molecularmechanism by which it represses plant growth remains unclear.In this study,we used proximity labeling to map the neighboring proteome of ABI5 and identified FCS-LIKE ZINC FINGER PROTEIN 13(FLZ13)as a novel ABI5 interaction partner.Phenotypic analysis of flz13 mutants and FLZ13-overexpressing lines demonstrated that FLZ13 acts as a positive regulator of ABA signaling.Transcriptomic analysis revealed that both FLZ13 and ABI5 downregulate the expression of ABA-repressed and growth-related genes involved in chlorophyll biosynthesis,photosynthesis,and cell wall organization,thereby repressing seed germination and seedling establishment in response to ABA.Further genetic analysis showed that FLZ13 and ABI5 function together to regulate seed germination.Collectively,our findings reveal a previously uncharacterized transcriptional regulatorymechanismby which ABA mediates inhibition of seed germination and seedling establishment.Chao Yang Xibao Li Shunquan Chen Chuanliang Liu Lianming Yang Kailin Li Jun Liao Xuanang Zheng Hongbo Li Yongqing Li Shaohua Zeng Xiaohong Zhuang Pedro L.Rodriguez Ming Luo Ying Wang Caiji Gao 2023Plant Communications2023,4,6:0
