1Functional Imaging of Breast Tissue and Clinical Application显示文摘A novel approach to image hemoglobin concentration(ΔD_ hb) and oxygen saturation (ΔD_ oxy) of breast tissue is presented. The scenograph of dual-wavelength (760 and 850 nm) near infrared lights through breast tissue is acquired by high sensitive charge coupled device (CCD) camera. The evaluation criterion of the difference of ΔD_ hb and ΔD_ oxy between detected and referenced breast tissue can be obtained by a calculation formula without complicate caculation. This approach is applied to clinic detection in breast tissue. The ongoing clinical experiments indicate that malignant tumor usually exhibits characterize of “higher ΔD_ hb and lower ΔD_ oxy”, while benign lesion often shows “lower ΔD_ hb and higher ΔD_ oxy” or other characters. 2Characterization of VOC emissions from construction machinery and river ships in the Pearl River Delta of China显示文摘Speciated characterization of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs),including oxygenated VOCs (OVOCs),from construction machinery and river ships in China is currently lacking.In this regard,we conducted field measurement on speciated VOC (including OVOC) emissions from six construction machinery and five river ships in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region to identify VOC emission characteristics.We noticed that OVOC emissions from construction machinery and ships accounted for more than 50%of the total VOC emissions,followed by alkenes,aromatics and alkanes.Formaldehyde and acetaldehyde were the most emission species,accounting for 61.8%-83.2%of OVOCs.For construction machinery,the fuel-based emission factors of roller,grader and pile driver were 3.12,3.12 and 7.36 g/kg,respectively.With the rigorous restraint by the national emission standards,VOC emissions of construction machinery had decreased considerably,especially during stageⅢ.Ozone formation potential was also significantly reduced due to the significant decrease in emissions of OVOCs and alkenes with higher reactivity.For river ships,the fuel-based emission factors of cargo ships and speedboat were 1.46 and 0.44 g/kg,respectively.VOC emissions from construction machinery and river ships in Guangdong Province in 2017 were 8851.0 and 4361.0 ton,respectively.This study filled the knowledge gaps of reactive gas emissions from different kinds of non-road mobile sources over the PRD,and more importantly,highlighted the necessity in adding OVOC measurement to give a complete and accurate depiction of reactive gas emissions from non-road mobile sources.Richao Wang Zibing Yuan Junyu Zheng Cheng Li Zhijiong Huang Wenshi Li Yan Xie Yiran Wang Kaiyang Yu Lejun Duan 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:5
3Ablative fractional CO_(2)laser surgery improving sleep quality,pain and pruritus in adult hypertrophic scar patients:a prospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Poor sleep quality is associated with a decrease in quality of life in patients with major burn scars,combined with pruritus and pain.Few interventions have been reported to improve the sleep quality of patients with scars.In the current prospective cohort study,we investigated the efficacy of CO_(2)-ablative fractional laser(AFL)surgery vs conventional surgery in post-burn patients with hypertrophic scars with sleep quality as the primary study outcome.Methods:In total 68 consecutive patients undergoing scar surgical treatment were recruited,including a CO_(2)-AFL surgery cohort(n=35)and a conventional surgery cohort(n=33).A subgroup from the AFL cohort was selected.Sleep quality,pain and pruritus were evaluated.Multiple linear regression analyses were performed to reveal the effect of CO_(2)-AFL surgery.Results:The CO_(2)-AFL surgery cohort had significantly lower Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)global scores than the conventional surgery cohort after the last surgical treatment.In the subgroup of patients receiving hardware sleep monitoring,CO_(2)-AFL markedly increased deep sleep time,deep sleep efficiency and reduced initial sleep latency.Compared to the conventional surgery cohort,the CO_(2)-AFL cohort presented significantly lower pain and pruritus scores.Correlation analysis showed pain and pruritus were significantly associated with PSQI scores,and there were also significant correlations between pain and pruritus scores.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that surgery method was negatively linearly correlated with visual analog scale(VAS)pain score,brief pain inventory(BPI)total,VAS pruritus score,5-D itch scale total,four-item itch questionnaire(FIIQ)total and PSQI total.Conclusions:CO_(2)-AFL surgery significantly improved sleep quality and reduced pain and pruritus of hypertrophic scar patients.The alleviation of sleep disorder was associated with improvement of deep sleep quality including deep sleep time and deep sleep deficiency.Trial registration:The Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(ChiCTR200035268)approved retrospectively registration on 5 Aug 2020.Kaiyang Lv Huazhen Liu Haiting Xu Caixia Wang Shihui Zhu Xiaozhen Lou Pengfei Luo Shichu Xiao Zhaofan Xia 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:4
4Leakage research on supercritical carbon dioxide fluid in rolling piston expander显示文摘The leakage research on supercritical carbon dioxide fluid in rolling piston expander was investigated experimentally.Using expander instead of throttle valve is an important way to improve the efficiency of carbon dioxide refrigeration system.However,the supercritical fluid leakage in expander is serious and is the main factor affecting the expander's efficiency.This paper presented and compared four classic leakage models.The analysis indicated that laminar leakage model is suitable in leakage simulation of expander.A leakage test system,including the leakage test part which has two types of leakage specimens with different gaps ranging from 5 to 15 m,was established.The experimental results indicated that lubricant film played an important role.When the leakage clearance of cylindrical specimen was 5 m,the mass flow rate of leakage was about 0.88 g s-1.The data was 3.638 g s-1 with leakage clearance being 10 m and 7.11g s-1 with leakage clearance being 15 m.A modified leakage model was developed,whose average deviation was within 10% compared with the experimental data.At last,this paper simulated the leakage in rolling piston expander presented by Tian et al.(2010).The leakage between rolling piston and cylinder was the most serious part with the value up to 0.04 kg s-1.TIAN Hua MA YiTai LI MinXia LIU ShengChun WANG KaiYang 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,6:3
5Alleviating mechanical degradation of hexacyanoferrate via strain locking during Na^(+) insertion/extraction for full sodium ion battery显示文摘Generation of large strains upon Na^(+) intercalation is one of the prime concerns of the mechanical degradation of Prussian blue(PB)and its analogs.Structural construction from the atomic level is imperative to maintain structural stability and ameliorate the long-term stability of PB.Herein,an inter nickel hexacyanoferrate(NNiFCN)is successfully introduced at the out layer of iron hexacyanoferrate(NFFCN)through ion exchange to improve structural stability through compressive stress locking by forming NNiFCN shell.Furthermore,the kinetics of sodium ion diffusion is enhanced through the built-in electric pathway.The electrochemical performance is therefore significantly improved with a remarkable long-term cycling stability over 3,000 cycles at 500 mA·g^(–1) in the full sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)with a maximum energy density of 91.94 Wh·g^(–1),indicating that the core-shell structured NNiFCN/NFFCN could be the low-cost and high-performance cathode for full SIBs in large-scale EES applications.Jianguo Sun Hualin Ye Jin An Sam Oh Yao Sun Anna Plewa Yumei Wang Tian Wu Kaiyang Zeng Li Lu 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:3
6Ultrasensitive graphene-Si position-sensitive detector for motion tracking显示文摘Motion tracking has attracted great attention in the fields of real-time tracking,nanorobotics,and targeted therapy.For achieving more accurate motion tracking,the highly sensitive position-sensitive detector(PSD)is desirable.Here,we demonstrate a meliorated PSD based on graphene-Si heterojunction for motion tracking.The position sensitivity of PSD was improved by employing surface engineering of graphene.Through modulating the transport property of graphene,nearly 20-fold increase of sensitivity was achieved under weak light,and at the same time,the detection limit power was reduced to^2 nW.A motion tracking system was developed based on the improved PSD,and human arm swing was tracked,which demonstrated high sensitivity and real-time tracking capabilities of the PSD.In addition,the PSD can support up to^10 kHz high-frequency tracking.This work provides a new strategy for improving the performance of PSD,and promotes the development of two-dimensional materials in novel optoelectronic devices.Wenhui Wang Kaiyang Liu Jie Jiang Ruxia Du Litao Sun Wei Chen Junpeng Lu Zhenhua Ni 2020InfoMat2020,2,4:3

8Effects of oxygen and moisture on the I-V characteristics of TiO_(2) thin films显示文摘Current-voltage(I-V)characteristics well reveal the resistive switching performance of materials promising for the next-generation memory-resistance random access memory(ReRAM).It has been observed that the atmospheric environment can affect the resistive switching performance,but the origin of this effect is still under debate.Conductive Atomic Force Microscopy(c-AFM)is widely used to study the resistive switching performance because of its capability to realize the resistive switching at the nanoscale that is becoming attractive as the miniaturization of memory devices.This study therefore aims to understand the effects of oxygen and moisture on the I-V characteristics of the TiO_(2)thin film by performing c-AFM measurements in ambient air,synthetic air,and argon gas.It is found that the oxygen in the environment can reduce the set and the reset voltages for the resistive switching,and it can also reduce the resistance at the low resistance state(LRS).Where the moisture in the environment can increase the set and reset voltages,and increase the resistance at LRS.These effects of oxygen and moisture in the environment can be attributed to the modification of the effective electric field during the resistive switching processes,which have been further confirmed by Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy(KPFM)measurements.In addition,it is found that the local ionic dynamics of TiO_(2)during the resistive switching are strongly dependent of the environments by performing the FORC-IV(First Order Reversal Curve-Current-Voltage)measurements in the three gas environments.Results in this work can provide a new perspective on the effect of environments on the resistive switching of materials,that is,the modulation of the effective electric field due to the adsorption of oxygen and moisture under the c-AFM tip.Wanheng Lu Lai-Mun Wong Shijie Wang Kaiyang Zeng 2018Journal of Materiomics2018,4,3:2
9Local phenomena at grain boundaries:An alternative approach to grasp the role of oxygen vacancies in metallization of VO_(2)显示文摘Vanadium dioxide(VO_(2))undergoes an insulator to metal transition(MIT)and an accompanied phase transition from a monoclinic(M)structure to rutile(R)structure near room temperature,forming the basis for many VO_(2)-based functional devices.The MIT transition of VO_(2)and the functionality of VO_(2)-based devices can be controlled by a variety of chemical and physical stimuli.With these external stimuli,defects,such as oxygen vacancies,are often inevitably introduced.However,due to the VeO systeminduced challenge to synthesize stable VO_(2)with different oxygen vacancy concentrations,the impact of oxygen vacancies on the resistance and transition of the VO_(2)is not fully understood.Oxygen vacancy,as one of the typical defects in VO_(2),is expected to concentrate at grain boundaries,and hence a concentration gradient of oxygen vacancies may exist between the grains interior and the boundaries,and this suggests a possibility to study the effects of oxygen vacancies on the transition of VO_(2)by probing local phenomena at the grain boundaries.For investigating local phenomena at the grain boundaries,Scanning Probe Microscopy(SPM)techniques are effective,which allows probing the structure and various properties at the nanoscale.In this work,a series of SPM techniques,including Atomic Force Microscopy(AFM),conductive-AFM(c-AFM),Electrochemical Strain Microscopy(ESM),and Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy(KPFM),are employed to measure variations of the surface structure,the resistance,the oxygen vacancy concentration,and the work function between the grain interior and the grain boundary.It has been demonstrated that,for most cases,both the resistance and the work function are lower at the grain boundaries as a result of the accumulation of oxygen vacancies at those positions.In addition,the resistance change induced by the electric field has been observed in the deposited VO_(2)thin films,which may be associated with the generation/annihilation of the oxygen vacancies,rather than charge injection.This work has demonstrated the effects of oxygen vacancies in the transition of VO_(2)by probing the local phenomena at grain boundaries,also provided a new insight into the resistance change of VO_(2)under an electric field.Wanheng Lu Lai-Mun Wong Shijie Wang Kaiyang Zeng 2018Journal of Materiomics2018,4,4:2
10Fast synthesis and improved electrical stability in n-type Ag_(2)Te thermoelectric materials显示文摘Cu-and Ag-based superionic conductors are promising thermoelectric materials due to their good electrical properties and intrinsically low thermal conductivity. However, the poor electrical and thermal stability restrict their application. In this work, n-type pure phase Ag_(2) Te compound is synthesized by simply grinding elemental powders at room temperature and compacted by spark plasma sintering. It is found that, because of the migration of Ag+after the phase transition around 425 K, submicron pores are formed inside the samples during the electrical performance measurement, resulting in poor electrical stability and repeatability of Ag_(2) Te samples. However, Pb-doped Ag_(2-x)Pb_(x)Te(x = 0–0.05) specimens exhibit improved electrical stability by the precipitation of the secondary phase Pb Te in the Ag_(2) Te matrix, which is confirmed via cyclic electrical property measurement and microstructure characterization.A maximum z T = 0.72 is obtained at 570 K for x = 0.03 mainly due to the increased power factor.Huiping Hu Kaiyang Xia Yuechu Wang Chenguang Fu Tiejun Zhu Xinbing Zhao 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,32:1

16Improvement of the chirality near avoided resonance crossing in optical microcavity显示文摘Chirality is one of the important phenomena at the vicinity of exceptional point(EP). The conventional understanding is that the chirality is determined by asymmetrical scattering efficiency(?), which reaches to zero only when the resonance approaches EP. Here we study the possibility to enhance the chirality in open systems with a more robust mechanism. By combining chirality with avoided resonance crossing, we show that the chirality and ? can be dramatically modified. Taking a spiral shaped annular cavity as an example, we show that the chirality of optical resonances can be significantly improved when two sets of chiral states approach each other. The imbalance between counterclockwise(CCW) components and clockwise(CW) components has been enhanced by more than an order of magnitude. 17Mid-temperature thermoelectric performance of zone-melted Sb_(2)(Te,Se)_(3) alloys near phase transition boundary显示文摘(Bi,Sb)_(2)(Te,Se)_(3) alloys are widely used commercial thermoelectric(TE)materials for solid-state refrigeration around room temperature.The composition-induced structural phase transition could be realized by varying the compositions in these alloys,which may largely alter the electronic structure and phonon dispersion.Among them,the Se-alloyed Sb_(2)Te_(3) accompanied with structural transition is seldom reported.Herein,the interrelations of Se-alloying induced changes in structural phase transition,band structure and TE properties of p-type zone-melted Sb_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x)(x=1.5-2.4)alloys near phase transition boundary are systematically investigated.The results demonstrate that Sb_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x) shows a structural transition from a rhombohedral phase to mixed structure at x=2.0.The carrier concentration and bandgap at room temperature of Sb_(2)Te_(3)-xSex(x=1.5-2.4)constantly decrease with increasing Se contents x.The zT peak of the Sb_(2)TeSe_(2) matrix is improved and shifted to higher temperature by optimizing carrier concentration via Ag doping.A maximum zT of~0.4 is obtained at 680 K in Sb_(1.97)Ag_(0.03)TeSe_(2) alloy,about 100% enhancement compared with the undoped sample.Beibei Li Renshuang Zhai Teng Fang Kaiyang Xia Yongjun Wu Tiejun Zhu 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,4:1
