1Research progresses of cathodic hydrogen evolution in advanced lead–acid batteries显示文摘Integrating high content carbon into the negative electrodes of advanced lead–acid batteries effectively eliminates the sulfation and improves the cycle life,but brings the problem of hydrogen evolution,which increases inner pressure and accelerates the water loss.In this review,the mechanism of hydrogen evolution reaction in advanced lead–acid batteries,including lead–carbon battery and ultrabattery,is briefly reviewed.The strategies on suppression hydrogen evolution via structure modifications of carbon materials and adding hydrogen evolution inhibitors are summarized as well.The review points out effective ways to inhibit hydrogen evolution and prolong the cycling life of advanced lead–acid battery,especially in high-rate partial-state-of-charge applications.Feng Wang Chen Hu Min Zhou Kangli Wang Jiali Lian Jie Yan Shijie Cheng Kai Jiang 2016Science Bulletin2016,61,6:8
2A novel surface molecularly imprinted polymer as the solid-phase extraction adsorbent for the selective determination of ampicillin sodium in milk and blood samples显示文摘Surface molecularly imprinted polymers(SMIPs) for selective adsorption of ampicillin sodium were synthesized using surface molecular imprinting technique with silica gel as a support.The physical and morphological characteristics of the polymers were investigated by scanning electron microscope(SEM),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),elemental analysis and nitrogen adsorption–desorption test.The obtained results showed that the SMIPs displayed great adsorption capacity(13.5 μg/mg),high recognition ability(the imprinted factor is 3.2) and good binding kinetics for ampicillin sodium.Finally,as solid phase extraction adsorbents,the SMIPs coupled with HPLC method were validated and applied for the enrichment,purification and determination of ampicillin sodium in real milk and blood samples.The averages of spiked accuracy ranged from 92.1% to 107.6%.The relative standard deviations of intra- and inter-day precisions were less than 4.6%.This study provides a new and promising method for enriching,extracting and determining ampicillin sodium in complex biological samples.Ningli Wu Zhimin Luo Yanhui Ge Pengqi Guo Kangli Du Weili Tang Wei Du Aiguo Zeng Chun Chang Qiang Fu 2016Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2016,6,3:6
3In situ sulfur-doped graphene nanofiber network as efficient metal-free electrocatalyst for polysulfides redox reactions in lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘The major challenge for realistic application of Li-S batteries lies in the great difficulty in breaking through the obstacles of the sluggish kinetics and polysulfides shuttle of the sulfur cathode at high sulfur loading for continuously high sulfur utilization during prolonged charge-discharge cycles.Here we demonstrate that large percentage of sulfur can be effectively incorporated within a three-dimensional(3D)nanofiber network of high quality graphene from chemical vapor deposition(CVD),through a simple ball-milling process.While high quality graphene network provided continuous and durable channels to enable efficient transport of lithium ions and electrons,the in-situ sulfur doping from the alloying effect of ball milling facilitated desirable affinity with entire sulfur species to prevent sulfur loss and highly active sites to propel sulfur redox reactions over cycling.This resulted in remarkable rate-performance and excellent cycling stability,together with large areal capacity at very high sulfur mass loading(Specific capacity over 666 mAh g-1after 300 cycles at 0.5 C,and areal capacity above 5.2 mAh cm-2at 0.2C at sulfur loading of 8.0 mg cm-2 and electrolyte/sulfur(E/S)ratio of 8μL mg-1;and high reversible areal capacities of 13.1 m Ah cm-2 at a sulfur load of 15 mg cm-2 and E/S of 5μL mg-1).Shijie Zhang Peng Zhang Ruohan Hou Bin Li Yongshang Zhang Kangli Liu Xilai Zhang Guosheng Shao 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,8:4
4Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 synergistically determine the rice heading date and yield-related agronomic traits显示文摘Heading date determines the seasonal and regional adaptation of rice(Oryza sativa L.)varieties and is mainly controlled by photoperiod sensitivity(PS).The core heading date genes Hd1,Ghd7,DTH8,and PRR37 act synergistically in regulating the PS.In this study,we systematically analyze the heading date,PS,and agronomic traits of eight homozygous lines with various combinations of Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 alleles in the prr37 background under long-day(LD)and short-day(SD)conditions,respectively.We find that Hd1 alone promotes heading,regardless of the day length.However,under LDs,Hd1 suppresses flowering,in coordination with functional Ghd7 or with Ghd7 and DTH8.These loci cooperate to negatively regulate the Ehd1-Hd3 a/RFT1 pathway and delay heading.Under SDs,Hd1 competes with various heading suppressors to promote heading.Therefore,the dual function of Hd1 is vital for PS.The lines carrying Hd1 alone show reduced plant height with fewer primary and secondary branches in panicles.Lines carrying Ghd7 and DTH8(with hd1)show delayed heading and improve agronomic traits.Overall,our results reveal the regulation of rice PS flowering by the core heading date genes and their effects on agronomic traits,providing valuable information for the selection of rice varieties for adaptation to different light and temperature conditions.Kangli Sun Minghui Huang Wubei Zong Dongdong Xiao Chen Lei Yanqiu Luo Yingang Song Shengting Li Yu Hao Wanni Luo Bingqun Xu Xiaotong Guo Guangliang Wei Letian Chen Yao-Guang Liu Jingxin Guo 2022Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,5:4
5Experimental Investigation on the Temperature Distribution Characteristics of the Evaporation Section in a Pulsating Heat Pipe显示文摘With the increasing demand for heat dissipation in the electronics industry, pulsating heat pipe(PHP) has attracted wide attention due to its simple structure and excellent heat transfer ability. However, due to the unique operational mechanism of PHP, the temperature distribution in the evaporation section is obviously not even during the operational process of PHP. When the PHP is used as a heat dissipater, the evaporation section of the PHP directly contacts with the chips and has great influence on the performance of the chips, so it is very important to investigate the temperature distribution characteristics in the evaporation section. In this paper, both the effects of the filling ratio and heat flux on these characteristics were investigated. The experimental results indicated that the temperatures of the middle 'U' turn were the highest. When the heat flux and the filling ratio were 364 W/cm^2 and 36.3%, respectively, the maximum temperature difference between the middle 'U' turn and the other 'U' turns could be as high as 18.92 K. 6Engineering practice and economic analysis of ozone oxidation wet denitrification technology显示文摘SO_(2)and NO emitted from coal-fired power plants have caused serious air pollution in China.In this study,a test system for NO oxidation using O_(3)is established.The basic characteristics of NO oxidation and products forms are studied.A separate test system for the combined removal of SO_(2)and NO_(x)is also established,and the absorption characteristics of NO_(x)are studied.The characteristics of NO oxidation and NO_(x)absorption were verified in a 35 t·h^(-1)industrial boiler wet combined desulfurization and denitrification project.The operating economy of ozone oxidation wet denitrification technology is analyzed.The results show that O_(3)has a high rate and strong selectivity for NO oxidation.When O_(3)is insufficient,the primary oxidation product is NO_(2).When O_(3)is present in excess,NO_(2)continues to get oxidized to N_(2)O_(5)or NO_(3).The removal efficiency of NO_(2)in alkaline absorption system is low(only about 15%).NOx removal efficiency can be improved by oxidizing NO_(x)to N_(2)O_(5)or NO_(3)by increasing ozone ratio.When the molar ratio of O_(3)/NO is 1.77,the NOx removal efficiency reaches 90.3%,while the operating cost of removing NO_(x)per kilogram is 6.06 USD(NO_(2)).Yang Li Defu Che Chenglong Yang Mingyu Yao Tingwen Zhao Kangli Fu Hanchen Zhao 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,1:3

8Li intercalation in an MoSe_(2) electrocatalyst:In situ observation and modulation of its precisely controllable phase engineering for a high-performance flexible Li-S battery显示文摘Sophisticated efficient electrocatalysts are essential to rectifying the shuttle effect and realizing the high performance of flexible lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs).Phase transformation of MoSe_(2) from the 2H phase to the 1T phase has been proven to be a significant method to improve the catalytic activity.However,precisely controllable phase engineering of MoSe_(2) has rarely been reported.Herein,by in situ Li ions intercalation in MoSe_(2),a precisely controllable phase evolution from 2H-MoSe_(2) to 1T-MoSe_(2) was realized.More importantly,the definite functional relationship between cut-off voltage and phase structure was first identified for phase engineering through in situ observation and modulation methods.The sulfur host(CNFs/1T-MoSe_(2))presents high charge density,strong polysulfides adsorption,and catalytic kinetics.Moreover,Li-S cells based on it display capacity retention of 875.3mAh g^(-1) after 500 cycles at 1 C and an areal capacity of 8.71mAh cm^(-2) even at a high sulfur loading of 8.47mg cm^(-2).Furthermore,the flexible pouch cell exhibiting decent performance will endow a promising potential in the wearable energy storage field.This study proposes an effective strategy to precisely control the phase structure of MoSe_(2),which may provide the reference to fabricate the highly efficient electrocatalysts for LSBs and other energy systems.Yunke Wang Yige Zhao Kangli Liu Shaobin Wang Neng Li Guosheng Shao Feng Wang Peng Zhang 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,2:2
9Confining sulfur in intact freestanding scaffold of yolk-shell nanofibers with high sulfur content for lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Nanostructure design holds great potential in fabricating sulfur electrodes that host a high sulfur loading and still attain high electrochemical utilization for the developing of high-energy-density lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries. In this contribution, we introduce the yolk-shell structure into a freestanding carbon nanofibers film and construct a complete hollow yolk-shell Ti O2/carbon nanofibers@void@TiN@carbon(TiO2-CNFs@void@Ti N@C) composite. With inherent double conductive network and strong adsorption capability for polysulfides, the Ti O2-CNFs@void@Ti N@C composite can not only provide sufficient electrical contact for the insulating sulfur, but also effectively entrap polysulfides for prolonged cycle life. As a result, an excellent capacity retention ratio of 60.9% after 1000 cycles at 1 C as well as a high capacity of688.5 mA h g^(-1) at 5 C rate is accomplished with the cells employing Ti O2-CNFs@void@TiN @C as a cathode substrate for sulfur. 10Vesicle-shaped ZIF-8 shell shielded in 3D carbon cloth for uniform nucleation and growth towards long-life lithium metal anode显示文摘Lithium metal has aroused extensive research interests as the anode for next-generation rechargeable batteries.However,the well-known dendritic Li growth and consequent safety issues still impair the long-term cycling performance.Herein,a hybrid structure composed of 3 D carbon cloth and vesicleshaped hollow ZIF-8 modification shell(HZS@CC)was prepared as a smart host for guiding uniform Li deposition.The long-range interconnected 3 D carbon fiber network enables the reduced local current density with homogeneous electrons distribution.Synergistically,abundant surface polar groups and the ultrastructure on ZIF-8 particles effectively guide a well-distributed Li-ions flow to promote the uniform Li nucleation and growth.As a result,stable Li plating/stripping for 2000 h with a low overpotential(≈15 mV)at 1 mA cm^(-2) were achieved in symmetric cells.Coupling with LiFePO_(4) cathode,the full cell delivered long life over 1200 cycles at 6 C.This research demonstrated that a homogenization guiding of Li-ions is of great importance to better make use of the structural advantage of 3 D hosts and achieve improved electrochemical performance.Yuting Fang Wenlong Cai Shanshan Zhu Kangli Xu Maogen Zhu Guannan Xiao Yongchun Zhu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:2
11ADOMIAN POLYNOMIALS FOR NONLINEAR RESPONSE OF SUPPORTED TIMOSHENKO BEAMS SUBJECTED TO A MOVING HARMONIC LOAD显示文摘This paper investigates the steady-state responses of a Timoshenko beam of infinite length supported by a nonlinear viscoelastic Pasternak foundation subjected to a moving harmonic load. The nonlinear viscoelastic foundation is assumed to be a Pasternak foundation with linear-plus-cubic stiffness and viscous damping. Based on Timoshenko beam theory, the nonlinear equations of motion are derived by considering the effects of the shear deformable beams and the shear modulus of foundations at the same time. For the first time, the modified Adomian decomposition method(ADM) is used for solving the response of the beam resting on a nonlinear foundation. By employing the standard ADM and the modified ADM, the nonlinear term is decomposed, respectively. Based on the Green's function and the theorem of residues presented,the closed form solutions for those linear iterative equations have been determined via complex Fourier transform. Numerical results indicate that two kinds of ADM predict qualitatively identical tendencies of the dynamic response with variable parameters, but the deflection of beam predicted by the modified ADM is smaller than that by the standard ADM. The influence of the shear modulus of beams and foundation is investigated. 12Autonomous reconfigurable hybrid tail-sitter UAV U-Lion显示文摘We present in this work the development of a novel hybrid unmanned aircraft platform, U-Lion,which has both vertical take-off and landing(VTOL) and cruising flight capabilities. Our design is in tail-sitter structure with reconfigurable wings, which combines the advantages of a fixed-wing plane and a rotor helicopter effectively. This allows it to transit from vertical take-off to hovering, before flying in cruise mode for efficient long duration flight. The propulsion comes from two coaxial contra-rotating motors fixed on a gimbal mechanism,which can change the direction of the motors for the required thrust. This thrust-vectored propulsion system primarily provides control in the VTOL mode but also enhances flight capabilities in the cruise mode. The hybrid aircraft is equipped with GPS and airspeed sensors, and has an onboard avionic system with advanced flight control algorithms to perform fully autonomous VTOL and cruising flights, in addition to transiting effectively between VTOL and cruising flight modes. 19Brain organoid-on-chip system to study the effects of breast cancer derived exosomes on the neurodevelopment of brain显示文摘Early human brain development can be affected by multiple prenatal factors that involve chemical exposures in utero,maternal health characteristics such as psychiatric disorders,and cancer.Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide arising pregnancy.However,it is not clear whether the breast cancer might influence the brain development of fetus.Exosomes secreted by breast cancer cells play a critical role in mediating intercellular communication and interplay between different organs.In this work,we engineered human induced pluripotent stem cells(hiPSCs)-derived brain organoids in an array of micropillar chip and probed the influences of breast cancer cell(MCF-7)derived-exosomes on the early neurodevelopment of brain.The formed brain organoids can recapitulate essential features of embryonic human brain at early stages,in terms of neurogenesis,forebrain regionalization,and cortical organization.Treatment with breast cancer cell derived-exosomes,brain organoids exhibited enhanced expression of stemness-related marker OCT4 and forebrain marker PAX6.RNA-seq analysis reflected several activated signaling pathways associated with breast cancer,medulloblastoma and neurogenesis in brain organoids induced by tumor-derived exosomes.These results suggested that breast cancer cell-derived exosomes might lead to the impaired neurodevelopment in the brain organoids and the carcinogenesis of brain organoids.It potentially implies the fetus of pregnant women with breast cancer has the risk of impaired neurodevelopmental disorder after birth.Kangli Cui Wenwen Chen Rongkai Cao Yingying Xie Peng Wang Yunsong Wu Yaqing Wang Jianhua Qin 2022Cell Regeneration2022,11,1:1
20Quantifying out-of-station waiting time in oversaturated urban metro systems显示文摘Metro systems in megacities such as Beijing,Shenzhen,and Guangzhou are under great passenger demand pressure.During peak hours,it is common to see oversaturated conditions(i.e.,passenger demand exceeds network capacity)and a popular control intervention is to restrict the entering rate by setting up out-of-station queueing with crowd control barriers.The out-of-station waiting can make up a substantial proportion of total travel time but is often ignored in the literature.Quantifying out-of-station waiting is important to evaluating the social benefit and cost of metro services;however,out-of-station waiting is difficult to estimate because it leaves no trace in smart card transactions of metros.In this study,we estimate the out-of-station waiting time by leveraging the information from a small group of transfer passengers—those who transfer from nearby bus routes to the metro station.Based on the transfer interval of this small group,we infer the out-of-station waiting time for all passengers by a Gaussian Process regression and then use the estimated out-of-station waiting time to build queueing diagrams.We apply our method to the Tiantongyuan North station of Beijing metro;results show that the maximum out-of-station waiting time can reach 15 min,and the maximum queue length can be over 3000 passengers.We find out-of-station waiting can cause significant travel costs and thus should be considered in analyzing transit performance,mode choice,and social benefits.To the best of our knowledge,this paper is the first quantitative study for out-of-station waiting time.Kangli Zhu Zhanhong Cheng Jianjun Wu Fuya Yuan Lijun Sun 2022Communications in Transportation Research2022,2,1:1
