1Ideal cardiovascular health and incidence of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease among Chinese adults:the China-PAR project显示文摘Existing evidence on the relationship between cardiovascular health(CVH) metrics and cardiovascular disease(CVD) was primarily derived from western populations. We aimed to evaluate the benefits of ideal CVH metrics on preventing incident atherosclerotic CVD(ASCVD) in Chinese population. This study was conducted among 93,987 adults from the China-PAR project(Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China) who were followed up until 2015. Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to estimate the hazard ratios(HRs) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals(CIs) of CVH metrics for the risk of ASCVD, including coronary heart disease(CHD), stroke and ASCVD death. We further estimated the population-attributable risk percentage(PAR%) of these metrics in relation to each outcome. We observed gradient inverse associations between the number of ideal CVH metrics and ASCVD incidence. Compared with participants having ≤2 ideal CVH metrics, the multivariable-adjusted HRs(95% CIs) of ASCVD for those with 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 ideal CVH metrics were 0.83(0.74–0.93), 0.66(0.59–0.74), 0.55(0.48–0.61), 0.44(0.38–0.50) and 0.24(0.18–0.31), respectively(P for trend <0.0001). Approximately 62.1% of total ASCVD, 38.7% of CHD, 66.4% of stroke, and 60.5% of ASCVD death were attributable to not achieving all the seven ideal CVH metrics. After adjusting effects of ideal health factors, having four ideal health behaviors could independently bring adults health benefits in preventing 17.4% of ASCVD, 18.0% of CHD, 16.7% of stroke, and 10.1% of ASCVD death. Among all the seven CVH metrics, to keep with ideal blood pressure(BP) implied the largest public health gains against various ASCVD events(PAR% between 33.0% and 47.2%), while ideal diet was the metric most difficult to be achieved in the long term. Our study indicates that the more ideal CVH metrics adults have, the less ASCVD burden there is in China. 2SHRIMP U-Pb geochronology of the zircons from the Precambrian basement of the Qilian Block and its geological significances显示文摘Origin and tectonic evolution of the Qilian Precambrian basement on NW China were investigated using zircon U-Pb ages with collaborating stratigraphic and paleontological evidence. Zircon grains were separated from two schists, two granitic gneisses and one mylonized gneiss and dated with SHRIMP. Seventy percent of sixty-one detrital zircon ages from two schists ranges from 0.88 Ga to 3.09 Ga, mostly within 1.0 Ga to 1.8 Ga with a peak at 1.6 Ga to 1.8 Ga, and twenty percent varies from 2.0 Ga to 2.5 Ga. A few falls in the Archean and Neoproterozoic periods. The two granitic gneisses were dated 930±8 Ma and 918±14 Ma, whereas the mylonized granitic gneiss was dated 790±12 Ma. These ages represent two periods of magmatisms, which can be correlated with the early and late stages of magmatisms associated with the Jinningian movement on the Yangtze Blocks. The results from this and previous studies indicate that the ages of the Precambrian detrital zircons from the Qilian Block are widely distributed in the Proterozoic era, distinct from the North China Block which was stable in the Neo-Mesoproterozoic era. By contrast, the age histograms of the detrital zircons from the Qilian Block is similar to those from Precambrian basement of the Yangtze Craton. Therefore, it is suggested that the Qilian Block had a strong affinity toward the Yangtze Craton and might belong to the supercontinent Gondwana in the Neoproterozoic time. This inference is supported by Nd model age (TDM), stratigraphic, and paleontological evidence. It is further considered that the Qilian Block was rifted from the supercontinent Gondwana during late Sinian to form an isolated continent in the Proto-Tethyan Ocean, moving towards the Alaxa Block in the North China Craton. The part of Proto-Tethyan Ocean between the Qilian and Alaxa Blocks should correspond to the so-called Paleo-Qilian Ocean. Following the closure of the Paleo-Qilian Ocean in the early Paleozoic, the Qilian Block collided with the Alaxa Block to form the North Qilian Orogenic Belt. Based on this tectonic explanation, the North Qilian ophiolites should represent parts of lithosphere from the Proto-Tethyan Ocean. 4Soil microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen in forest ecosystems of Northeast China:a comparison between natural secondary forest and larch plantation显示文摘Aims Natural secondary forest(NSF)and larch plantation are two of the predominant forest types in Northeast China.However,how the two types of forests compare in sustaining soil quality is not well understood.This study was conducted to determine how natural secondary forest and larch plantation would differ in soil microbial biomass and soil organic matter quality.Methods Microbial biomass carbon(MBC),microbial biomass nitrogen(MBN),soil organic carbon(SOC)and total nitrogen(TN)in the 0-to 15-cm and 15-to 30-cm soil layers were investigated by making chemical and biological measurements in the montane region of eastern Liaoning Province,Northeast China,during the growing season of 2008 in stands of NSF and Larix olgensis plantation(LOP).Important Findings We found that soil MBC and MBN were significantly lower in the LOP than in the NSF.Both MBC and MBN declined significantly with increasing soil depth in the two types of stands.The ratios of MBC to SOC(MBC/SOC)and MBN to TN(MBN/TN)were also significantly lower in the LOP than in the NSF.Moreover,the values of MBC,MBC/SOC,and MBN/TN significantly varied with time and followed a similar pattern during the growing season,all with an apparent peak in summer.Our results indicate that NSF is better in sustaining soil microbial biomass and nutrients than larch plantation in the temperate Northeast China.This calls for cautions in large-scale conversions of the native forests to coniferous plantations as a forest management practice on concerns of sustaining soil productivity.Kai Yang Jiaojun Zhu Min Zhang Qiaoling Yan Osbert Jianxin Sun 2010Journal of Plant Ecology2010,3,3:44
5Ages and Compositions of the Precambrian High-grade Basement of the Qilian Terrane and Its Adjacent Areas显示文摘Based on geological, chronological, geochemical and Nd isotopicstudies of the high-grade basement of the Qilian terrane, the authors have drawn the following main conclusions: (1) the high-grade basement of the Qilian terrane consists mainly of meta-argillo-arenaceous rocks and granites and its bulk part was formed in the period of 0.8-1.0 Ga (the Jinningian period); (2) most of the meta-argillo-arenaceous rocks and granitic rocks have strong negative Eu and Ba anomalies (Eu/Eu*= 0.47-0.71 and Ba/Ba*= 0.16-0.64), with tDM and εNd (1.0 Ga) ranging from 1.87 to 2.26 Ga and from -8.54 to -4.06 respectively, showing relatively high maturity; and (3) the Jinningian granitic rocks are a typical product of continent-continent collision, being probably related to the formation of the supercontinent Rodinia. These studies, com bined with the study of high-grade basement rocks near the Qilian terrane, suggest that before the Jinningian period, the Qilian-Qaidam northern-margin terrane and Dunhuang-Alxa terrane were separated from each other, belonging to differ ent plate systems of the North China craton and Yangtze platform respectively. 6Cell membrane-based nanoparticles: a new biomimetic platform for tumor diagnosis and treatment显示文摘Taking inspiration from nature, the biomimetic concept has been integrated into drug delivery systems in cancer therapy. Disguised with cell membranes, the nanoparticles can acquire various functions of natural cells. The cell membrane-coating technology has pushed the limits of common nano-systems(fast elimination in circulation) to more effectively navigate within the body. Moreover, because of the various functional molecules on the surface, cell membrane-based nanoparticles(CMBNPs) are capable of interacting with the complex biological microenvironment of the tumor. Various sources of cell membranes have been explored to camouflage CMBNPs and different tumor-targeting strategies have been developed to enhance the anti-tumor drug delivery therapy. 7Evidence for UHP metamor-phism of eclogites from the Altun Mountains显示文摘Ultrahigh pressure (UHP) metamorphism refers to metamorphism that has occurred at pressures for the stability of coesite. The polycrystalline quartz inclusions showing the characteristic texture within garnets of eclogites indicates the pre-existence of coesites under the peak meta-morphic condition. The unusual exsolution textures in om-pacites and apatites, and the pressure estimations of phengite-bearing eclogites have been taken to provide further proof of eclogite formation under the UHP conditions. 8Discovery of eclogite at northern margin of Qaidam Basin,NW China显示文摘Eclogite was first discovered at the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin in this study. It occurs as pods in the gneiss sequence of Middle to Upper Proterozoic age and is mainly composed of garnet, omphacite, phengite and rutile. The garnets contain 44%-62% of almandine, 15%-33% of grossular and 12%-30% of pyrope molecules, and the omphacites contain 40%-46% of jadeite. 9Lawsonite-bearing eclogites in the north Qilian and north Altyn Tagh:Evidence for cold subduction of oceanic crust显示文摘Lawsonite-bearing eclogites are recog-nized respectively in the north Qilian (NQL) and north Altyn Tagh (NAT), based on petrography and mineral chemistry. Lawsonite coexists with omphacite and phengite as inclusions in garnet, indicating ec-logite-facies metamorphism. Peak metamorphic con-ditions for equilibrium lawsonite-omphacite-phengite- garnet peak assemblages are estimated to be 2.1―2.4 GPa and 420―500℃, which is in the stability field of lawsonite eclogite-facies. A low geotherm of 6―8℃/km is referred, which is in consistent with a cold subduction. The occurrences of lawsonite-bearing eclogites in both NQL and NAT provide further evi-dence that the NAT HP/LT metamorphic belt is pos-sibly the northwestward extension of the NQL HP/LT metamorphic belt offset by the Altyn Tagh left-lateral slip fault. 10Minimal Gated Unit for Recurrent Neural Networks显示文摘Recurrent neural networks(RNN) have been very successful in handling sequence data.However,understanding RNN and finding the best practices for RNN learning is a difficult task,partly because there are many competing and complex hidden units,such as the long short-term memory(LSTM) and the gated recurrent unit(GRU).We propose a gated unit for RNN,named as minimal gated unit(MGU),since it only contains one gate,which is a minimal design among all gated hidden units.The design of MGU benefits from evaluation results on LSTM and GRU in the literature.Experiments on various sequence data show that MGU has comparable accuracy with GRU,but has a simpler structure,fewer parameters,and faster training.Hence,MGU is suitable in RNN s applications.Its simple architecture also means that it is easier to evaluate and tune,and in principle it is easier to study MGU s properties theoretically and empirically.Guo-Bing Zhou Jianxin Wu Chen-Lin Zhang Zhi-Hua Zhou 2016International Journal of Automation and computing2016,13,3:30
11Predicting lifetime risk for developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in Chinese population:the China-PAR project显示文摘Evidence on the lifetime risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD) is insufficient;yet,estimating an individual's lifetime risk allows for a comprehensive assessment of ASCVD burden.We developed and validated lifetime risk prediction equations for ASCVD using four large and ongoing prospective cohorts of Chinese,the China-PAR project(Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China).Sexspecific equations were developed using two cohorts(as the derivation cohort) of 21,320 participants.Two other independent cohorts with 14,123 and 70,838 participants were used for their external validation,respectively.We evaluated both calibration and discrimination measures for model performance.Furthermore,we estimated ASCVD-free years lost or excess absolute risk attributable to high 10-year risk(!10.0%) and/or high lifetime risk(!32.8%).After 12.3 years' follow-up of the derivation cohort,1048 ASCVD events and 1304 non-ASCVD deaths were identified.Our sex-specific equations had good internal validation,with discriminant C statistics of 0.776(95% confidence interval [CI]:0.757–0.794) and 0.801(95% CI:0.778–0.825),and calibration χ~2 of 9.2(P = 0.418) and 5.6(P = 0.777) for men and women,respectively.Good external validation was also demonstrated with predicted rates closely matched to the observed ones.Compared with men having both low 10-year and low lifetime risk,men would develop ASCVD 3.0,4.6 and 8.6 years earlier if they had high 10-year risk alone,high lifetime risk alone,or both high 10-year and high lifetime risk at the index age of 35 years,respectively.We developed wellperformed lifetime risk prediction equations that will help to identify those with the greatest potential to avert ASCVD burden after implementation of innovative clinical and public health interventions in China.Fangchao Liu Jianxin Li Jichun Chen Dongsheng Hu Ying Li Jianfeng Huang Xiaoqing Liu Xueli Yang Jie Cao Chong Shen Ling Yu Zhendong Liu Xianping Wu Liancheng Zhao Xigui Wu Dongfeng Gu Xiangfeng Lu 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,12:30
12SHRIMP U-Pb geochronology of the detrital zircons from the Longshoushan Group and its tectonic significance显示文摘Sixty-two geologically meaningful U-Pb dates were obtained by using SHRIMP technique for the detrital zircons in three metasedimentary rocks from stratigraphically uppermost parts of the Longshoushan Group in the present study. Eighty percents of these dates range from 1.7 Ga to 2.2 Ga with a peak at 1.8-2.0 Ga and twenty percents from 2.3 Ga to 2.7 Ga. The youngest detrital zircon is dated at 1724±19 Ma which is interpreted as the maximum depositional age of the metasedimentary rocks. Therefore, the age for the diagenesis and lithification of the original sedimentary rocks of the Longshoushan Group before the metamorphism must be younger than 1724±19 Ma. Comparison of the age histograms of these detrital zircons with the ages of the igneous rocks on the surrounding older massifs suggests that the sediments of the Longshoushan Group were most likely derived from the Alaxa Block and Tarim Craton. 13Genetic analysis of 'all-fish' growth hormone gene transferred carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) and its F_1 generation显示文摘Recornbinant 'all-fish' growth hormone gene (GH) was microinjected into the fertilized eggs of carp. A comparison between the growth traits of transgenics and non-transgenics was carried out, and the transgenic individuals with significant 'fast-growing' effect were successfully gained. A comparison on the reproductivities was also given out between the transgenics and their non-transgenic siblings, and showed that the reproductive capacity of transgenics was substantially equivalent to those of the non-transgenics. On the other hand, the genetic separation and the characteristic distribution of the FI generation were genetically analyzed, which gave solid evidence for the hypothesis that 2-3 chromosomes are integrated with trans-gene. In addition, the distinct biological effects for multi-site-integrated transgenes were further discussed. 15Rice CYP703A3, a cytochrome P450 hydroxylase, is essential for development of anther cuticle and pollen exine显示文摘Anther cuticle and pollen exine act as protective envelopes for the male gametophyte or pollen grain, but the mechanism underlying the synthesis of these lipidic polymers remains unclear. Previously, a tapetum‐expressed CYP703A3, a putative cytochrome P450 fatty acid hydroxylase, was shown to be essential for male fertility in rice(Oryza sativa L.). However,the biochemical and biological roles of CYP703A3 has not been characterized. Here, we observed that cyp703a3‐2 caused by one base insertion in CYP703A3 displays defective pollen exine and anther epicuticular layer, which differs from Arabidopsis cyp703a2 in which only defective pollen exine occurs. Consistently, chemical composition assay showed that levels of cutin monomers and wax components were dramatically reduced in cyp703a3‐2 anthers. Unlike the wide range of substrates of Arabidopsis CYP703A2, CYP703A3 functions as an in‐chain hydroxylase only for a specific substrate, lauric acid, preferably generating 7‐hydroxylated lauric acid. Moreover, chromatin immunoprecipitation and expression analyses revealed that the expression of CYP703A3 is directly regulated by Tapetum Degeneration Retardation, a known regulator of tapetum PCD and pollen exine formation. 16Ca. 2.5 Ga TTG rocks in the western Alxa Block and their implications显示文摘The Alxa Block is considered part of the North China Craton, but the unambiguous Archean basement has not been reported. In this study, we present the first evidence of the Neoarchean rocks in the Beidashan area of the western Alxa Block. The petrographic and geochemical data show that these rocks are granodiorite with TTG (tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite) characteristics. Zircon U-Pb dating gave an age of 2522±30 Ma for the magmatic core and 2496±11 Ma for the metamorphic recrystallized rim. The near-identical age between the Latest Neoarchean magmatism and the high-grade metamorphism shows that these features were related to the same Latest Neoarchean-Earliest Paleoproterozoic tectonothermal event. The age-corrected Hf (t) value is mainly between 0.4 and 4.9. The two-stage zircon Hf model age ranges from 2.7 to 3.0 Ga, suggesting that the Mesoarchean- Neoarchean (2.7-3.0 Ga) juvenile crust was reworked at the end of the Neoarchean in the western Alxa Block. 17Eclogitic metapelites in the western segment of the north Qaidam Mountains:Evidence on'in situ'relationship between eclogite and its country rock显示文摘In Yuka-Luofengpo area of the north Qaidam Mountains, eclogitic metapelites are recognized. The metapelites enclosed lenses of eclogites, and locally intercalated with eclogites. Their typical mineral assemblages are garnet + kyanite + chloritoid + phengite + quartz + rutile. Strong growth zoning is preserved in garnets of metapelites, and phengite contains up to 3.4 Si per formula units. The petrographic observations and textural relations testify to the following sequence of mineral assemblages connected to three metamorphic stage: Qtz. Applying THERMOCALC Program, Grt-Phe thermometer and Grt-Ky-Phe-Qtz barometry, P-T conditions for three metamorphic stages were obtained: P=1.07±0.31GPa, T=564±22°C (prograde stage); P=2.3-3.1GPa, T=615-700°C(peak stage); and P=1.22 ± 0.26GPa, T=581± 20°C (retrograde stage). A hairpin shape P-T path similar to that of adjacent eclogite is inferred. 18The Zoulang Nanshan Caledonian Subduct ion Complex in the Northern Qilian Mountains and Its Dynamics显示文摘The front of the Zoulang Nanshan Caledonian volcanic island arc zone in the northern Qilian Mountains is a forearc accretionary terrane, composed of multiple accretionary volcanic island arcs, flysch accretionary wedges,high-pressure metamorphosed detachment zones and remnants of ophiolites. It resulted from the northeastward subduction of the Early Palaeozoic Qilan oceanic crust beneath the Alxa block. High-pressure metamorphism, which occurred during the subduction, progressed through three stages: the initial stage of medium T-high P,the main stage of temperature decrease and pressure increase, and the lag stage of pressure decrease and temperature increase. 19Efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture in treatment of lumbar disc herniation: a protocol for a cohort study显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of electroacupuncture(deep needling) and general orthopedics in treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH), and to evaluate its long-term efficacy.METHODS: This trial is a prospective cohort study.A total of 175 participants will be observed. The exposure group is obtained from department of acupuncture and moxibustion and the control group is from orthopedic department in hospital. Patients in exposed group will receive electroacupuncture in Dachangshu(BL 25), Guanyuanshu(BL 26), L4 Jiaji points(EX-B2 L4), L5 Jiaji points(EX-B2 L5) and S1 Jiaji points(EX-B2 S1) in the affected side once a day, 6 times as a treatment course for two courses(12 times). Patients in control group will receive orthopedic conventional therapy. In acute period,the treatment is mannitol injection(250 mL∶50 g) 200 mL, i.v., q.d.; 0.9% sodium chloride injection250 mL, vitamin C injection 2 g, Dexamethasone sodium phosphate injection 10 mg, i.v., q.d.; sterile water for injection 2 mL, adenosine cobalt amine injection 1 mg, i.m., q.d., 12 d. In remission period,the treatment is Voltaren(Diclofenac diethyl lamine emulsion) external, q.d., 12 d. The researchers do not give any other intervention and record the relevant information only.RESULTS: Modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association Scores, Visual Analogue Scale/Score, the Short Form-36 Quality-of-Life Questionnaire and Oswestry Disability Questionnaire and the second outcome measures(Adverse Event Questionnaire and Relapse Questionnaire) are measured before treatment, after the sixth treatment, and after the twelfth treatment. 20Impacts of Forest Gaps on Soil Properties After a Severe Ice Storm in a Cunninghamia lanceolata Stand显示文摘During January–February 2008, a severe ice storm caused significant damages to forests in southern China, creating canopy gaps and changing soil nutrient availability and enzyme activity. To understand the relationships between gap size, changes in the soil environment and the effects that these changes have on soil processes, we investigated the effects of gap size on soil chemical and biological properties in the forest gaps in a Cunninghamia lanceolata stand in northern Guangdong Province, southern China. Ten naturally created gaps, five large(80–100 m^2) and five small(30–40 m^2), were selected in the stand of C.lanceolata. The large gaps showed a significant increase in light transmission ratio and air and soil temperatures and a decline in soil moisture, organic matter,N and P compared with the small gaps and the adjacent canopy-covered plots in the 0–10 cm soil. The differences in organic matter and nutrient levels found between the large and small gaps and the canopy-covered plots may be related to changes in environmental conditions. This indicated rapid litter decomposition and increased nutrient leaching in the large gaps. Moreover, the lowest levels of catalase, acid phosphatase and urease activities occurred in large gaps because of the decline in their soil fertility.
