| 2 | Comparison of the diagnostic yield and outcomes between standard 8 h capsule endoscopy and the new 12 h capsule endoscopy for investigating small bowel pathology显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the completion rate and diagnostic yield of the Pill Cam SB2-ex in comparison to the Pill Cam SB2.METHODS:Two hundred cases using the 8-h Pill Cam SB2 were retrospectively compared to 200 cases using the 12 h Pill Cam SB2-ex at a tertiary academic center.Endoscopically placed capsules were excluded from the study.Demographic information,indications for capsule endoscopy,capsule type,study length,completion of exam,clinically significant findings,timestamp of most distant finding,and significant findings beyond 8 h were recorded.RESULTS:The 8 and 12 h capsule groups were well matched respectively for both age(70.90±14.19vs 71.93±13.80,P=0.46)and gender(45.5%vs48%male,P=0.69).The most common indications for the procedure in both groups were anemia and obscure gastrointestinal bleeding.Pill Cam SB2-ex had a significantly higher completion rate than Pill Cam SB2(88%vs 79.5%,P=0.03).Overall,the diagnostic yield was greater for the 8 h capsule(48.5%for SB2vs 35%for SB2-ex,P=0.01).In 4/70(5.7%)of abnormal SB2-ex exams the clinically significant findingwas noted in the small bowel beyond the 8 h mark.CONCLUSION:In our study,we found the Pill Cam SB2-ex to have a significantly increased completion rate,though without any improvement in diagnostic yield compared to the Pill Cam SB2. | Merajur Rahman Stuart Akerman Bethany De Vito Larry Miller Meredith Akerman Keith Sultan | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，18： | 12 |
| 3 | Recurrence and survival following microwave, radiofrequency ablation, and hepatic resection of colorectal liver metastases: A systematic review and network meta-analysis显示文摘Background: Gold standard for colorectal liver metastases(CRLM) remains hepatic resection(HR). However, patients with severe comorbidities, unresectable or deep-situated resectable CRLM are candidates for ablation. The aim of the study was to compare recurrence rate and survival benefit of the microwave ablation(MWA), radiofrequency ablation(RFA) and HR by conducting the first network meta-analysis. Data sources: Systematic search of the literature was conducted in the electronic databases. Both updated traditional and network meta-analyses were conducted and the results were compared between them. Results: HR cohort demonstrated significantly less local recurrence rate and better 3-and 5-year diseasefree(DFS) and overall survival(OS) compared to MWA and RFA cohorts. HR cohort included significantly younger patients and with significantly lower preoperative carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) by 10.28 ng/m L compared to RFA cohort. Subgroup analysis of local recurrence and OS of solitary and ≤3 cm CRLMs did not demonstrate any discrepancies when compared with the whole sample. Conclusions: For resectable CRLM the treatment of choice still remains HR. | 14 | QTL mapping and identification of SNP-haplotypes affecting yield components of Theobroma cacao L.显示文摘Cacao is a crop of global relevance that faces constant demands for improved bean yield.However,little is known about the genomic regions controlling the crop yield and genes involved in cacao bean filling.Hence,to identify the quantitative trait loci(QTL)associated with cacao yield and bean filling,we performed a QTL mapping in a segregating mapping population comprising 459 trees of a cross between‘TSH 1188’and‘CCN 51’.All variables showed considerable phenotypic variation and had moderate to high heritability values.We identified 24 QTLs using a genetic linkage map that contains 3526 single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)markers.Haplotype analysis at the significant QTL region on chromosome IV pointed to the alleles from the maternal parent,‘TSH 1188’,as the ones that affect the cacao yield components the most.The recombination events identified within these QTL regions allowed us to identify candidate genes that may take part in the different steps of pod growth and bean filling.Such candidate genes seem to play a significant role in the source-to-sink transport of sugars and amino acids,and lipid metabolism,such as fatty acid production.The SNP markers mapped in our study are now being used to select potential highyielding cacao varieties through marker-assisted selection in our existing cacao-breeding experiments. | Luciel dos Santos Fernandes Fábio M.Correa Keith TIngram Alex-Alan Furtado de Almeida Stefan Royaert | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020，7，1： | 1 |
