PD-1/PD-L1 blockade in cervical cancer: current studies and perspectives显示文摘Cervical cancer (CC) is the fourth most commonly diagnosed female malignancy and a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, especially in developing countries. Despite the use of advanced screening and preventive vaccines, more than half of all CC cases are diagnosed at advanced stages, when therapeutic options are extremely limited and side effects are severe. Given these circumstances, new and effective treatments are needed. In recent years, exciting progress has been made in immunotherapies, including the rapid development of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Checkpoint blockades targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 axis have achieved effective clinical responses with acceptable toxicity by suppressing tumor progression and improving survival in several tumor types. In this review, we summarize recent advances in our understanding of the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway, including the expression patterns of PD-1/PD-L1 and potential PD-l/PD-Ll-related therapeutic strategies for CC. | Yumeng Wang Guiling Li | 2019 | Frontiers of Medicine2019,13,4: | 17
Isolated Cases of Plague--Inner Mongolia-Beijing, 2019显示文摘What is already known about this topic?Plague is an acute infectious disease caused by Yersinia pestis(Y.pestis)and is primarily transmitted by rodents.Human can be infected by bites of bacterium-bearing fleas or direct contact with diseased or dead plagueinfected animals. In 2004,the last human plague case was reported in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region due to skinning a dead hare. What is added by this report? This is the first case of pneumonic plague imported into a major city since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Two primary pneumonic plague cases(Patients A and B)found in residents of Inner Mongolia were confirmed in Beijing on November 12,2019.Another case(Patient C)of Y.pestis was identified as bubonic plague on November 14.Patient A most likely became infected from aerosol exposure to infective droplets while digging on his farm, located in an Meriones unguiculatus(M.unguiculatus)natural plague focus.Patient B became infected from contact with Patient A(her husband).Patient C became infected after skinning a dead hare. There was no epidemiological relationship between the Patient A/B and Patient C.What are the implications for public health practice? When epizootic plague is detected, local health-care providers and the public should be alerted about any possible risks.Public education efforts should focus on promoting personal protection measures. | Yumeng Wang Lei Zhou Mengguang Fan Quanyi Wang Jianyun Li Qun Li Zijian Feng George FGao Cheng Xu Lijuan Chen Wei Li Yanping Zhang | 2019 | China CDC weekly2019,1,1: | 13
Preparation and Applications of Soybean Residue CNF Films显示文摘In this study, soybean residues were treated with HCl and soybean residue cellulose was extracted, which was used to prepare cellulose nanofiber (CNF) using the high-pressure homogenization method. The maximum yield of CNF, the reaction temperature, reaction time, and HCl concentration were optimized. The optimum HCl concentration for acid treatment was 6%, the reaction time was 60 min, the reaction temperature was 80℃, and the maximum yield of soybean residue cellulose was 78.8%. The different CNF films were then prepared;the color, mechanical property, and light transmittance of the CNF films were studied. Compared to the properties of the CNF film prepared with the soybean residue cellulose by high-pressure homogenization 15 times (HGT-15 film), the mechanical properties of the CNF film with soybean residue cellulose by decolorizing treatment decreased, but the light transmittance increased. The film prepared by adding HGT- 15 CNF to whey protein was investigated for its mechanical property, light transmittance, and solubility. Unlike the pure whey protein film, addition of 2.0% CNF to the whey protein enhanced the mechanical property and water vapor transmission rate (WVT) of the film. With the increase in CNF content, the solubility of the whey protein film decreased, and then stabilized. | Peiyi Li Hezhen Liu Qingqing Hou Yumeng Wang Xinping Li | 2019 | Paper And Biomaterials2019,4,3: | 7
Regulation of FN1 degradation by the p62/SQSTM1-dependent autophagy-lysosome pathway in HNSCC显示文摘Epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)is involved in both physiological and pathological processes.EMT plays an essential role in the invasion, migration and metastasis of tumours.Autophagy has been shown to regulate EMT in a variety of cancers but not in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).Herein,we investigated whether autophagy also regulates EMT in HNSCC.Analyses of clinical data from three public databases revealed that higher expression of fibronectin-1(FN1)correlated with poorer prognosis and higher tumour pathological grade in HNSCC.Data from SCC-25 cells demonstrated that rapamycin and Earle’s balanced salt solution(EBSS)promoted autophagy, leading to increased FN1 degradation, while 3-methyladenine(3-MA),bafilomycin A1(Baf A1)and chloroquine(CQ)inhibited autophagy, leading to decreased FN1 degradation. On the other hand, autophagic flux was blocked in BECN1 mutant HNSCC Cal-27 cells, and rapamycin did not promote autophagy in Cal-27 cells;also in addition,FN1 degradation was inhibited.Further,we identified FN1 degradation through the lysosome-dependent degradation pathway using the proteasome inhibitor MG132.Data from immunoprecipitation assays also showed that p62/SQSTM1 participated as an autophagy adapter in the autophagy–lysosome pathway of FN1 degradation. Finally, data from immunoprecipitation assays demonstrated that the interaction between p62 and FN1 was abolished in p62 mutant MCF-7 and A2780 cell lines. These results indicate that autophagy significantly promotes the degradation of FN1.Collectively,our findings clearly suggest that FN1,as a marker of EMT,has adverse effects on HNSCC and elucidate the autophagy–lysosome degradation mechanism of FN1. | Xinchen Liu Lin Meng Xing Li Daowei Li Qilin Liu Yumeng Chen Xiangwei Li Wenhuan Bu Hongchen Sun | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,4: | 7
CD147 antibody specifically and effectively inhibits infection and cytokine storm of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants delta, alpha, beta, and gamma显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 mutations contribute to increased viral transmissibility and immune escape, compromising the effectiveness of existing vaccines and neutralizing antibodies. An in-depth investigation on COVID-19 pathogenesis is urgently needed to develop a strategy against SARS-CoV-2 variants. Here,we identified CD147 as a universal receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.Meanwhile,Meplazeumab,a humanized anti-CD147 antibody, could block cellular entry of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants-alpha,beta,gamma,and delta, with inhibition rates of 68.7,75.7,52.1,52.1,and 62.3%at 60μg/ml,respectively.Furthermore,humanized CD147 transgenic mice were susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 and its two variants, alpha and beta. When infected, these mice developed exudative alveolar pneumonia, featured by immune responses involving alveoli-infiltrated macrophages, neutrophils, and lymphocytes and activation of IL-17 signaling pathway.Mechanistically,we proposed that severe COVID-19-related cytokine storm is induced by a'spike protein-CD147-CyPA signaling axis':Infection of SARS-CoV-2 through CD147 initiated the JAK-STAT pathway, which further induced expression of cyclophilin A(CyPA);CyPA reciprocally bound to CD147 and triggered MAPK pathway.Consequently, the MAPK pathway regulated the expression of cytokines and chemokines, which promoted the development of cytokine storm.Importantly,Meplazumab could effectively inhibit viral entry and inflammation caused by SARS-CoV-2 and its variants. Therefore, our findings provided a new perspective for severe COVID-19-related pathogenesis.Furthermore, the validated universal receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants can be targeted for COVID-19 treatment. | Jiejie Geng Liang Chen Yufeng Yuan Ke Wang Youchun Wang Chuan Qin Guizhen Wu Ruo Chen Zheng Zhang Ding Wei Peng Du Jun Zhang Peng Lin Kui Zhang Yongqiang Deng Ke Xu Jiangning Liu Xiuxuan Sun Ting Guo Xu Yang Jiao Wu Jianli Jiang Ling Li Kun Zhang Zhe Wang Jing Zhang Qingguo Yan Hua Zhu Zhaohui Zheng Jinlin Miao Xianghui Fu Fengfan Yang Xiaochun Chen Hao Tang Yang Zhang Ying Shi Yumeng Zhu Zhuo Pei Fei Huo Xue Liang Yatao Wang Qingyi Wang Wen Xie Yirong Li Mingyan Shi Huijie Bian Ping Zhu Zhi-Nan Chen | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10: | 6
Embedding Image Through Generated Intermediate Medium Using Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Network显示文摘Deep neural network has proven to be very effective in computer vision fields.Deep convolutional network can learn the most suitable features of certain images without specific measure functions and outperform lots of traditional image processing methods.Generative adversarial network(GAN)is becoming one of the highlights among these deep neural networks.GAN is capable of generating realistic images which are imperceptible to the human vision system so that the generated images can be directly used as intermediate medium for many tasks. One promising application of using GAN generated images would be image concealing which requires the embedded image looks like not being tampered to human vision system and also undetectable to most analyzers.Texture synthesizing has drawn lots of attention in computer vision field and is used for image concealing in steganography and watermark. The traditional methods which use synthesized textures for information hiding mainly select features and mathematic functions by human metrics and usually have a low embedding rate. This paper takes advantage of the generative network and proposes an approach for synthesizing complex texture-like image of arbitrary size using a modified deep convolutional generative adversarial network(DCGAN),and then demonstrates the feasibility of embedding another image inside the generated texture while the difference between the two images is nearly invisible to the human eyes. | Chuanlong Li Yumeng Jiang Marta Cheslyar | 2018 | Computers, Materials & Continua2018,,8: | 5
Hydrodynamic Links between Shallow and Deep Mineralization Systems and Implications for Deep Mineral Exploration显示文摘Deep mineral exploration is increasingly important for finding new mineral resources but there are many uncertainties.Understanding the factors controlling the localization of mineralization at depth can reduce the risk in deep mineral exploration. One of the relatively poorly constrained but important factors is the hydrodynamics of mineralization. This paper reviews the principles of hydrodynamics of mineralization, especially the nature of relationships between mineralization and structures, and their applications to various types of mineralization systems in the context of hydrodynamic linkage between shallow and deep parts of the systems.Three categories of mineralization systems were examined,i.e.,magmatic-hydrothermal systems, structurally controlled hydrothermal systems with uncertain fluid sources, and hydrothermal systems associated with sedimentary basins. The implications for deep mineral exploration, including potentials for new mineral resources at depth, favorable locations for mineralization,as well as uncertainties, are discussed. | CHI Guoxiang XU Deru XUE Chunji LI Zenghua Patrick LEDRU DENG Teng WANG Yumeng SONG Hao | 2022 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,1: | 5
Multifunctional inverse sensing by spatial distribution characterization of scattering photons显示文摘Inverse sensing is an important research direction to provide new perspectives for optical sensing. For inverse sensing, the primary challenge is that scattered photon has a complicated profile, which is hard to derive a general solution. Instead of a general solution, it is more feasible and practical to derive a solution based on a specific environment. With deep learning, we develop a multifunctional inverse sensing approach for a specific environment. This inverse sensing approach can reconstruct the information of scattered photons and characterize multiple optical parameters simultaneously. Its functionality can be upgraded dynamically after learning more data. It has wide measurement range and can characterize the optical signals behind obstructions. The high anti-noise performance, flexible implementation, and extremely high threshold to optical damage or saturation make it useful for a wide range of applications, including self-driving car, space technology, data security, biological characterization, and integrated photonics. | Lianwei Chen Yumeng Yin Yang Li Minghui Hong | 2019 | Opto-Electronic Advances2019,2,9: | 5
A mini-review on the modeling of volatile organic compound adsorption in activated carbons: Equilibrium, dynamics, and heat effects显示文摘The research on the adsorption equilibria, kinetics, and increase in process temperature of the volatile organic compound(VOC)adsorption in porous materials ensures safe production, thereby reducing production costs and improving separation efficiency. Therefore,it is critical in predicting the entire adsorption process based on minimal or no experimental input of the adsorbate and adsorbent. We discuss,in this review, the factors that affect the adsorption performance of VOCs in activated carbons, including the adsorption equilibrium, adsorption kinetics, and exotherm during adsorption.Subsequently, the existing prediction models are summarized and compared concerning the adsorption equilibrium, adsorption kinetics, and exothermic process of adsorption. We then propose a new prediction model based on intermolecular interaction and provide an outlook toward the design and manipulation of efficient adsorbents for the VOC system. | Shanshan Wang Liangliang Huang Yumeng Zhang Licheng Li Xiaohua Lu | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,3: | 4
Effects of degradable films with different degradation cycles on soil temperature, moisture and maize yield显示文摘Photo biodegradable film is an ideal degradable mulch film with synergistic effect of photo-degradability and biodegradability. To examine the covering effects of different films, maize was cultivated in the field with three kinds of degradable films(DF)mulching which had different degradation cycles(DF No.1,No.2 and No.3),with common plastic film mulching and no filming mulching(open ground)as comparison. The degradation rates and degrees of degradable films were examined, and the effects of different films on soil temperature, soil moisture, maize yield and relevant characteristics in each treatment were analyzed. The results indicated that the degradable films had good degradability, and the weight loss rate in 100 d for DF No.1,No.2,and No.3 were 22.31%,19.46%,and 15.63%,which were 4.16,3.63,and 2.92 times of the plastic film, respectively. In the early period of maize growth, the degradable films had good warming effects on soil, which were similar with the plastic film. The effect of DF No.2 on soil water conservation was slightly better than that of DF No.1 or No.3,similar with that of the plastic film. The soil water contents in 0-140 cm depths were significantly higher for DF No.2 than that for the open ground(p<0.05).The degradable films could significantly promote the ear development of maize, improve the ear characteristics, shorten the bald tip,and increase kernel number per plant(KNP)and 1000-kernel weight(TKW).The grain yields(GYs)for DF No.2,No.1,and No.3 were significantly improved, with 35.15%,31.35%,and 30.07%higher than that the open ground respectively(p<0.05).With no significant difference between DF and the plastic film, the GY was increased more for DF No.2 than that for DF No.1 and No.3.The degradable films fulfilled successfully all the functions of the plastic film, thus they were recommended as viable option to the plastic film due to their good degradability. | Lixia Shen Yumeng Zhang Yinchao Lan Ruofan Li | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,3: | 4
Corrosion mechanism of CuAl-NiC abradable seal coating system——The influence of porosity, multiphase, and multilayer structure on the corrosion failure显示文摘In this study, the corrosion behavior of the CuAl-NiC abradable seal coating system in chloride solution was investigated to systematically research the effect of porosity, multiphase, and multilayer structure on the corrosion failure.Through the composition and structure analysis, the corrosion process of the system was predicted and then verified with mercury intrusion porosimetry,cross-section SEM/EDS analysis, and electrochemical measurements. The results demonstrated that the interphase selective corrosion caused the porosity of the top layer to decrease first and then increase during the corrosion development. The interlayer galvanic corrosion, determined by the pore connectivity,is crucial for corrosion failure. | Yumeng Ni Fan Zhang Demian I.Njoku Yingjie Yu Jinshan Pan Meijiang Meng Ying Li | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,29: | 4

Effect of High Pressure Homogenization Treatment on Structure and Properties of Soybean Residue Cellulose Nanofibers显示文摘To reduce the adverse effects of non-cellulose materials on subsequent homogenization, the effects of a high-pressure homogenization treatment on the structure and properties of cellulose nanofibers(CNF)prepared by acid treatment of soybean residue were studied. The effects of the number of homogenization step on the microfibrillation degree, crystalline structure and mechanical properties of the soybean residue were analyzed by SEM,FT-IR,XRD,TG and DTG.The results showed that an increase in the number of homogenization steps led to an increase in the degree of microfibrillation,a more uniform distribution of the CNF diameter, and an increase in the crystallinity of CNF.However, but when the number of homogenization steps exceeded 15,the rate of change decreased, and the crystallinity of CNF decreased. As the number of homogenization steps increased, the average degree of polymerization and average molecular weight of CNF decreased continuously, and after 15 homogenization steps, their rate of change also decreased.Therefore,15 steps of high-pressure homogenization represented a suitable number of steps to prepare the soybean residue CNF with an average diameter of 15 nm. | Peiyi Li Yumeng Wang Binyao Zhou Qingqing Hou Hezhen Liu Haozhe Lei Boxing Jian Xinping Li | 2019 | Paper And Biomaterials2019,4,4: | 4
Regulation of innate immune responses by rabies virus显示文摘Rabies virus(RABV)is an infectious and neurotropic pathogen that causes rabies and infects humans and almost all warm-blooded animals, posing a great threat to people and public safety. It is well known that innate immunity is the critical first line of host defense against viral infection. It monitors the invading pathogens by recognizing the pathogen-associated molecular patterns and danger-associated molecular patterns through pattern-recognition receptors, leading to the production of type I interferons(IFNα/β),inflammatory cytokines, and chemokines,or the activation of autophagy or apoptosis to inhibit virus replication. In the case of RABV,the innate immune response is usually triggered when the skin or muscle is bitten or scratched. However,RABV has evolved many ways to escape or even hijack innate immune response to complete its own replication and eventually invades the central nervous system(CNS).Once RABV reaches the CNS,it cannot be wiped out by the immune system or any drugs. Therefore,a better understanding of the interplay between RABV and innate immu-nity is necessary to develop effective strategies to combat its infection. Here,we review the innate immune responses induced by RABV and illustrate the antagonism mechanisms of RABV to provide new insights for the control of rabies. | Haili Zhang Jingbo Huang Yumeng Song Xingqi Liu Meichen Qian Pei Huang Yuanyuan Li Ling Zhao Hualei Wang | 2022 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,5: | 2
Biomechanics of ankle giving way:A case report of accidental ankle giving way during the drop landing test显示文摘Background:Several case studies observed that the lateral ankle sprain resulted from a sudden increase in ankle inversion accompanied by internal rotation. However, without sufficient ankle kinetics and muscle activity information in the literature, the detailed mechanism of ankle sprain is still unrevealed. The purpose of our case report is to present 2 accidental ankle giving way incidents for participants with chronic ankle instability(CAI)and compare to their normal trials with data of kinematics, kinetics, and electromyography(EMG).Case description:Two young female participants accidentally experienced the ankle giving way when landing on a 25°lateral-tilted force plate.3 D kinematics, kinetics, and muscle activity were recorded for the lower extremity.Qualitative comparisons were made between the giving way trials and normal trials for joint angles, angular velocities, moments, centers of pressure and EMG linear envelopes. Results:One participant’s giving way trial displayed increased ankle inversion and internal rotation angles in the pre-landing phase and at initial contact compared to her normal trials.Another participant’s giving way trial exhibited greater hip abduction angles and delayed activation of the peroneus longus muscle in the pre-landing phase versus her normal trials. Conclusion:A vulnerable ankle position(i.e.,more inverted and internally rotated),and a late activation of peroneus activity in the pre-landing phase could result in the ankle giving way or even sprains.A neutral ankle position and early activation of ankle evertors before landing may be helpful in preventing ankle sprains. | Yumeng Li Jupil Ko Shuqi Zhang Cathleen N.Brown Kathy J.Simpson | 2019 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2019,8,5: | 2
Visible-light stimulated synaptic plasticity in amorphous indium−gallium−zinc oxide enabled by monocrystalline double perovskite for high-performance neuromorphic applications显示文摘Photoelectric synaptic devices have been considered as one of the key components in artificial neuromorphic systems due to their excellent capability to emulate the functions of visual neurons, such as light perception and image processing.Herein,we demonstrate an optically-stimulated artificial synapse with a clear photoresponse from ultraviolet to visible light, which is established on a novel heterostructure consisting of monocrystalline Cs2AgBiBr6 perovskite and indium–gallium–zinc oxide(IGZO)thin film.As compared with pure IGZO,the heterostructure significantly enhances the photoresponse and corresponding synaptic plasticity of the devices, which originate from the superior visible absorption of single-crystal Cs2AgBiBr6 and effective interfacial charge transfer from Cs2AgBiBr6 to IGZO.A variety of synaptic behaviors are realized on the fabricated thin-film transistors, including excitatory postsynaptic current, paired pulse facilitation,short-term,and long-term plasticity.Furthermore,an artificial neural network is simulated based on the photonic potentiation and electrical depression effects of synaptic devices, and an accuracy rate up to 83.8%±1.2%for pattern recognition is achieved. This finding promises a simple and efficient way to construct photoelectric synaptic devices with tunable spectrum for future neuromorphic applications. | Fu Huang Feier Fang Yue Zheng Qi You Henan Li Shaofan Fang Xiangna Cong Ke Jiang Ye Wang Cheng Han Wei Chen Yumeng Shi | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,1: | 2
Extra low friction coefficient caused by the formation of a solid-like layer:A new lubrication mechanism found through molecular simulation of the lubrication of MoS_2 nanoslits显示文摘Monolayer molybdenum disulfide(MoS2) is a novel two-dimensional material that exhibits potential application in lubrication technology. In this work, molecular dynamics was used to investigate the lubrication behaviour of different polar fluid molecules(i.e., water, methanol and decane) confined in monolayer Mo S2 nanoslits. The pore width effect(i.e., 1.2, 1.6 and 2.0 nm) was also evaluated. Results revealed that decane molecules exhibited good lubricating performance compared to the other two kinds of molecules. The friction coefficient followed the order of decane b methanol b water, and decreased evidently as the slit width increased, except for decane. Analysis of the spatial distribution and mobility of different confined fluid molecules showed that a solid-like layer was formed near the slit wall. This phenomenon led to the extra low friction coefficient of confined decane molecules. | Jiahui Li Yudan Zhu Yumeng Zhang Qingwei Gao Wei Zhu Xiaohua Lu Yijun Shi | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,12: | 2
All in one theranostic nanoplatform enables efficient anti-tumor peptide I delivery for triple-modal imaging guided cancer therapy显示文摘Developing a reliable system to efficiently and safely deliver peptide drugs into tumor tissues still remains a great challenge since the instability of peptide drugs and low ability to traverse the cell membrane. Herein, we constructed a multifunctional nanoplatform based on porous europium/gadolinium (Eu/Gd)-doped NaLa(MoO4)2 nanoparticles (NLM NPs) to deliver antitumor peptide of B-cell lymphoma/leukemia-2-like protein 11 (BIM) for cancer therapy. The porous NLM NPs exhibited inherent photoluminescent, magnetic and X-ray absorbable properties, which enable them for triple-modal bioimaging, including fluorescence, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). This triple-modal bioimaging can contribute to monitoring NLM NPs biodistribution and guiding therapy in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, the NLM NPs showed negligible cytotoxicity in vitro and tissue toxicity in vivo. Importantly, NLM NPs could load the antitumor peptide of BIM and efficiently improve the resistance of peptide drugs to proteolysis. The BIM peptide was efficiently delivered into the tumor cells by NLM NPs, which can inhibit the growth and promote the apoptosis of cancer cells in vitro, significantly inhibit the tumor growth in vivo. Notably, NLM-BIM theranostic nanoplatform exhibits low systemic toxicity and fewer side effects in vivo. The NLM NPs can serve as a promising multifunctional peptide delivery nanoplatform for multi-modal bioimaging and cancer therapy. | Xiaoyan Qu Zhengqing Liu Bohan Ma Na Li Hongyang Zhao Tian Yang Yumeng Xue Xiaozhi Zhang Yongping Shao Ying Chang Jun Xu Bo Lei Yaping Du | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,3: | 2
