Three-dimensional crustal velocity structure model of the middle-eastern north China Craton (HBCrust1.0)显示文摘Lithosphere thinning and destruction in the middle-eastern North China Craton(NCC), a region susceptible to strong earthquakes, is one of the research hotspots in solid earth science. All 42 seismic wide-angle reflection/refraction profiles have been completed in the middle-eastern NCC. We collect all the 2-D profiling results and perform gridding of the velocity and interface depth data, building a 3-D crustal velocity structure model for the middle-eastern NCC, named HBCrust1.0, by using the Kriging interpolation method. Our result shows that the first-arrival times calculated by HBCust1.0 fit well with the observations. The result demonstrates that the upper crust is the main seismogenic layer, and the brittle-ductile transition occurs at depths near interface C(the interface between upper and lower crust). The depth of interface Moho varies beneath the source area of the Tangshan earthquake, and a low-velocity structure is found to extend from the source area to the lower crust. Based on these observations, it can be inferred that stress accumulation responsible for the Tangshan earthquake may have been closely related to the migration and deformation of the mantle materials. Comparisons of the average velocities of the whole crust, the upper and the lower crust show that the average velocity of the lower crust under the central part of the North China Basin(NCB) in the east of the craton is obviously higher than the regional average. This high-velocity probably results from long-term underplating of the mantle magma. | DUAN YongHong WANG FuYun ZHANG XianKang LIN JiYan LIU Zhi LIU BaoFeng YANG ZhuoXin GUO WenBin WEI YunHao | 2016 | Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,7: | 24
Crustal and upper mantle structure and deep tectonic genesis of large earthquakes in North China显示文摘From the 1960 s to 1970 s, North China has been hit by a series of large earthquakes. During the past half century, geophysicists have carried out numerous surveys of the crustal and upper mantle structure, and associated studies in North China. They have made significant progress on several key issues in the geosciences, such as the crustal and upper mantle structure and the seismogenic environment of strong earthquakes. Deep seismic profiling results indicate a complex tectonic setting in the strong earthquake areas of North China, where a listric normal fault and a low-angle detachment in the upper crust coexist with a high-angle deep fault passing through the lower crust to the Moho beneath the hypocenter. Seismic tomography images reveal that most of the large earthquakes occurred in the transition between the high-and low-velocity zones, and the Tangshan earthquake area is characterized by a low-velocity anomaly in the middle-lower crust. Comprehensive analysis of geophysical data identified that the deep seismogenic environment in the North China extensional tectonic region is generally characterized by a low-velocity anomalous belt beneath the hypocenter, inconsistency of the deep and shallow structures in the crust, a steep crustalal-scale fault, relative lower velocities in the uppermost mantle, and local Moho uplift, etc. This indicates that the lithospheric structure of North China has strong heterogeneities. Geologically, the North China region had been a stable craton named the North China Craton or in brief the NCC, containing crustal rocks as old as ~3.8 Ga. The present-day strong seismic activity and the lower velocity of the lower crust in the NCC are much different from typical stable cratons around the world. These findings provide significant evidence for the destruction of the NCC. Although deep seismic profiling and seismic tomography have greatly enhanced knowledge about the deep-seated structure and seismogenic environment, some fundamental issues still remain and require further work. | WANG ChunYong WU QingJu DUAN YongHong WANG ZhiShuo LOU Hai | 2017 | Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,5: | 15
2-D P-wave velocity structure of lithosphere in the North China tectonic zone: Constraints from the Yancheng-Baotou deep seismic profile显示文摘We obtained the 2-D P-wave velocity structure of the lithosphere in the eastern North China Craton, Shanxi fault subsidence zone, and Yinchuan-Hetao fault subsidence zone by ray tracking technology based on six groups of clearly identified crustal phases and one group of lithospheric interface reflection phases from seismic recording sections of 21 shots along the 1300-km-long Yancheng-Baotou deep seismic wide-angle reflection/refraction profile. The results indicate significant differences between the lithospheric structure east and west of the Taihang Mountains, which is a gravity-gradient zone as well as a zone of abrupt change in lithospheric thickness and a separation zone of different rock components. East of the Taihang Mountains, the Mesozoic and Cenozoic lithospheric structure of the North China Craton has undergone strong reformation and destruction, resulting in the lithosphere thickness decreasing to 70–80 km. The North China Basin has a very thick Cenozoic sedimentary cover and the deepest point of crystalline basement is about 7.0 km, with the crustal thickness decreasing to about 31.0 km. The crystalline basement of the Luxi uplift zone is relatively shallow with a depth of 1.0–2.0 km and crustal thickness of 33.0–35.0 km. The Subei Basin has a thicker Cenozoic sedimentary cover and the bottom of its crystalline basement is at about 5.0–6.0 km with a crustal thickness of 31.0–32.0 km. The Tanlu fault is a deep fracture which cuts the lithosphere with a significant velocity structure difference on either side of the fault. The Tanlu fault plays an important role in the lithospheric destruction in the eastern part of the North China Craton. West of the Taihang Mountains, the crustal thickness increases significantly. The crust thickness beneath the Shanxi fault depression zone is about 46 km, and there is a low-velocity structure with a velocity of less than 6.1 km s?? in the upper part of the middle crust. Combined with other geophysical study results, our data shows that the lithospheric destruction at the Shaanxi-Shanxi fault depression zone and the Yinchuan-Hetao rift surrounding the Ordos block is non-uniform. The lithosphere thickness is about 80–90 km in the Datong-Baotou area, 75–137 km at the Dingxiang-Shenmu region, and about 80–120 km in the Anyang-Yichuan area. The non-uniform lithospheric destruction may be related to the ancient tectonic zone surrounding the Ordos block. This zone experienced multi-period tectonic events in the long-term process of its tectonic evolution and was repeatedly transformed and weakened. The weakening level is related to the interactions with the Ordos block. The continental collision between the Cenozoic India and Eurasia plates and N-E thrusting by the Qinghai Tibet Plateau block is causing further reformation and reduction of the lithosphere. | DUAN YongHong LIU BaoJin ZHAO JinRen LIU BaoFeng ZHANG ChengKe PAN SuZhen LIN JiYan GUO WenBin | 2015 | Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,9: | 14
Identification of QTLs and Validation of qCd-2 Associated with Grain Cadmium Concentrations in Rice显示文摘Cadmium(Cd) is one of heavy metals harmful to human health. As rice is the main staple food in Asia and Cd is easily contaminated in rice, the molecular regulation of Cd accumulation should be explored. In this study, a recombinant inbred population derived from Xiang 743/Katy was grown in Cd-polluted fields and used to map the quantitative trait loci(QTLs) for Cd accumulation in rice grains. We identified seven QTLs distributed on chromosomes 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 10. These QTLs displayed phenotypic variances of 58.50% and 40.59% in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Two QTLs, qCd-2 and qCd-7, were identified in both the two years. qCd-2 was detected on the interval of RM250–RM207 on chromosome 2, with an LOD of 2.51 and a phenotypic contribution of 13.75% in 2014, and an LOD of 3.35 and a phenotypic contribution of 14.16% in 2015. qCd-7 co-localized with the cloned qCdT7 on chromosome 7 and may represent the correct candidate. The other five QTLs were detected only in one year. To further confirm the effects of qCd-2, a residual heterozygous line designated as RHL945, with a heterozygous interval of RM263–RM207 on chromosome 2, was selected from the recombinant inbred population and used to develop an F2 population consisting of 155 individual plants. By incorporating further simple sequence repeat markers into the segmental linkage map of the target region, qCd-2 was delimited in the interval of RM5404–RM3774, with an LOD value of 4.38 and a phenotypic contribution of 15.52%. These results reflected the genetic regulation of grain Cd in rice and paved the way for the future cloning of qCd-2. | LIU Wenqiang PAN Xiaowu LI Yongchao DUAN Yonghong MIN Jun LIU Sanxiong LIU Licheng SHENG Xinnian LI Xiaoxiang | 2019 | Rice science2019,26,1: | 6
A seismic model for crustal structure in North China Craton显示文摘We present a digital crustal model in North China Craton(NCC). The construction of crustal model is based on digitization of original seismic sounding profiles, and new results of three-dimensional structure images of receiver functions. The crustal model includes seismic velocity and thickness of crustal layers. The depths to Moho indicate a thinning crust ~30 km in the east areas and a general westward deepening to more than 40 km in the west. The P wave velocity varies from 2.0 to 5.6 km/s in the sedimentary cover, from 5.8 to 6.4 km/s in the upper crust, and from 6.5 to 7.0 km/s in the lower crust. By analyzing regional trends in crustal structure and links to tectonic evolution illustrated by typical profiles, we conclude that:(1) The delimited area by the shallowing Moho in the eastern NCC represents the spatial range of the craton destruction. The present structure of the eastern NCC crust retains the tectonic information about craton destruction by extension and magmatism;(2) The tectonic activities of the craton destruction have modified the crustal structure of the convergence boundaries at the northern and southern margin of the NCC;(3) The Ordos terrene may represent a relatively stable tectonic feature in the NCC, but with the tectonic remnant of the continental collision during the assembly of the NCC in the north-east area and the response to the lateral expansion of the Tibetan Plateau during the Cenozoic in the south-west. | TianYu Zheng YongHong Duan WeiWei Xu YinShuang Ai | 2017 | Earth and Planetary Physics2017,1,1: | 5
Post-marketing safety surveillance and reevaluation of Motherwort injection:A clinical study of 10094 cases显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the safety profiles of Motherwort injection(MI).METHODS:A multi-center,prospective and drugderived hospital intensive monitoring method was conducted to assess the safety of MI in real world applications. This study was based on a very large population after the injection was approved and marketed in China. All patients using the injection in participating hospitals were monitored to determine the incidence, pattern, severity and outcome of associated adverse events.RESULTS:The post-marketing surveillance was performed in 10 094 female patients from April to December,2015.The incidence of adverse drug reactions(ADRs) was 0.79‰(8/10 094).Among the 8 patients, the reported adverse events mainly included systemic abnormalities, such as fever, chills and eyelid edema;skin and appendages disorders, such as pruritus and rash;gastrointestinal disorders, such as nausea, abdominal distension and pain;heart rate and rhythm disorders, such as palpitation and increased heart rate. All of these ADRs were mild in severity.CONCLUSION:In this study the ADRs incidence rate of MI is very low, which supports that it is generally safe for use in obstetric and gynecological diseases. However, the total number of 8 ADRs recorded over a relatively short time span seems limited, and the low number of reports could not represent an absolute guarantee of safety. | Cao Shan Zhang Wenhao Zhao Ziwei Heng Mingli Bu Huaien Wang Hongwu Liu Xinghui Wang Zhong Cai Yan Ma Yuyan Cui Shihong Deng Jihong Ding Guifeng Ding Yajuan Dong Linhong Duan Zhentao Fan Ling Fan Yang Fu Fen He Jing Ji Shuying Jin Lin Li Hong Li Hongying Liao Tao Lu Wei Luo Xiucui Lü Zhihui Ma Fengchun Ma Dafeng Shi Tianyun Sun Juying Sun Xiaotong Teng Hong Wang Jinhua Wang Ruihua Wang Ying Wang Zhengling Xi Jie Xu Minjuan Xu Zhihong Yan Qian Yang Cuirong Yang Yimei Yin Jie Yu Jinhua Yuan Wenjun Zhang Guanli Zhang Meihua Zhao Renfeng Zhong Yonghong Zhou Jian | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4: | 4
Substantial transition to clean household energy mix in rural China显示文摘The household energy mix has significant impacts on human health and climate,as it contributes greatly to many health-and climate-relevant air pollutants.Compared to the well-established urban energy statistical system, the rural household energy statistical system is incomplete and is often associated with high biases.Via a nationwide investigation, this study revealed high contributions to energy supply from coal and biomass fuels in the rural household energy sector, while electricity comprised∼20%.Stacking(the use of multiple sources of energy)is significant, and the average number of energy types was 2.8 per household.Compared to 2012,the consumption of biomass and coals in 2017 decreased by 45%and 12%,respectively,while the gas consumption amount increased by 204%.Increased gas and decreased coal consumptions were mainly in cooking, while decreased biomass was in both cooking(41%)and heating(59%).The time-sharing fraction of electricity and gases(E&G)for daily cooking grew, reaching 69%in 2017,but for space heating, traditional solid fuels were still dominant, with the national average shared fraction of E&G being only 20%.The non-uniform spatial distribution and the non-linear increase in the fraction of E&G indicated challenges to achieving universal access to modern cooking energy by 2030,particularly in less-developed rural and mountainous areas. In some non-typical heating zones, the increased share of E&G for heating was significant and largely driven by income growth, but in typical heating zones, the time-sharing fraction was<5%and was not significantly increased, except in areas with policy intervention. The intervention policy not only led to dramatic increases in the clean energy fraction for heating but also accelerated the clean cooking transition.Higher income, higher education, younger age, less energy/stove stacking and smaller family size positively impacted the clean energy transition. | Guofeng Shen Rui Xiong Yanlin Tian Zhihan Luo Bahabaike Jiangtulu Wenjun Meng Wei Du Jing Meng Yuanchen Chen Bing Xue Bin Wang Yonghong Duan Jia Duo Fenggui Fan Lei Huang Tianzhen Ju Fenggui Liu Shunxin Li Xianli Liu Yungui Li Mu Wang Ying Nan Bo Pan Yanfang Pan Lizhi Wang Eddy Zeng Chao Zhan Yilin Chen Huizhong Shen Hefa Cheng Shu Tao | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,7: | 4
Estimating the site effects in Luoyang basin using horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio method from a short-period dense array显示文摘The influence of local site effects on seismic ground motions is an important issue in seismic hazard assessment and earthquake resistant design. Determining site effects in densely populated cities built on basins can help to reduce the earthquake hazard. Site effects of Luoyang basin are estimated by the horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio(HVSR) method using ambient noise records from a short-period dense array. The sites in Luoyang basin are sorted into three types according to the pattern of the HVSR curves. There are cases with a single clear peak, two clear peaks, and an unclear low frequency peak or multiple peaks, which correspond to there being one large impedance contrast interface, two large interfaces, and a moderate one beneath the sites, respectively. The site effects characterized by fundamental frequency from HVSR curves are affected by underlying sedimentary layers and depth of sedimentary basement. According to our results, the existence of thick sediment layer obviously lowers the fundamental frequency to the period range from 2 to 4 s in the downtown area of Luoyang city. The ground motion will amplify when through the sites and the buildings with height of 20–50 floors can resonate at the similar frequency domain. Site effects estimation using HVSR method from a short-period dense array is an effective technique in areas of moderate seismic risk where strong motion recordings are lacking, such as the Luoyang basin. | Yujuan Tan Yunhao Wei Yonghong Duan Fuyun Wang | 2018 | Earthquake Science2018,31,5: | 3

Crustal velocity structures and their tectonic implications in different tectonic block regions of the Chinese mainland显示文摘In this paper, the typical velocity structures and average velocities of the crust in six different active tectonic block regions are presented on the basis of previous studies and their tectonic implications are discussed. The results show that different tectonic units have different features of crustal velocity structures. In general, there are low velocity distributions in the crust in regions with strong tectonic activities, and the scales of low velocity distributions are related to the tectonic activities. The average velocities are relatively low in such regions. This reflects strong crustal deformation and the variations of states of matter in the crust resulting from strong tectonic movements. These regions are also seismically active zones frequented by strong earthquakes. Therefore, studying crustal velocity structures of these regions is of great importance to understanding crustal geodynamic process and seismogenic tectonic background. | Xiankang Zhang Yonghong Duan Jinren Zhao Chengke Zhang Shixu Jia Jianshi Zhang Fuyun Wang Zhuoxin Yang Suzhen Pan | 2009 | Earthquake Science2009,22,4: | 0

S-wave velocity structure in Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas from joint inversion of receiver functions and surface wave dispersion显示文摘Using the seismic records of 83 temporary and 17 permanent broadband seismic stations deployed in Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas(39°N–41.5°N,115.5°E–119.5°E),we conducted a nonlinear joint inversion of receiver functions and surface wave dispersion. We obtained some detailed information about the Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas, including sedimentary thickness,Moho depth, and crustal and upper mantle S-wave velocity.Meanwhile,we also obtained the vP/vS structure along two sections across the Tangshan region. The results show that:(1)the Moho depth ranges from 30 km to 38 km,and it becomes shallower from Yanshan uplift area to North China basin;(2)the thickness of sedimentary layer ranges from 0 km to 3 km,and it thickens from Yanshan uplift region to North China basin;(3)the S-wave velocity structure shows that the velocity distribution of the upper crust has obvious correlation with the surface geological structure, while the velocity characteristics of the middle and lower crust are opposite to that of the upper crust.Compared with the upper crust, the heterogeneity of the middle and lower crust is more obvious;(4)the discontinuity of Moho on the two sides of Tangshan fault suggests that Tangshan fault cut the whole crust, and the low vS and high vP/vS beneath the Tangshan earthquake region may reflect the invasion of mantle thermal material through Tangshan fault. | Yanna Zhao Yonghong Duan Zhuoxin Yang Zhanyong Gao | 2020 | Earthquake Science2020,33,1: | 0
