1Preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio plus platelet-to-lymphocyte ratioin predicting survival for patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱgastric cancer显示文摘Background:The preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR) are associated with poor prognosis of gastric cancer.We aimed to determine whether the combination of NLR and PLR(NLR-PLR) could better predict survival of patients after curative resection for stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer.Methods:We collected data from the medical records of patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer undergoing curative resection between December 2000 and November 2012 at the Sun Yat-sen Cancer Center.The preoperative NLRPLR was calculated as follows:patients with both elevated NLR(≥2.1) and PLR(≥ 120) were given a score of 2,and patients with only one or neither were given a score of 1 or 0,respectively.Results:Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank tests revealed significant differences in overall survival(OS) among patients with NLR-PLR scores of 0,1 and 2(P < 0.001).Multivariate analysis showed that OS was independently associated with the NLR-PLR score[hazard ratio(HR) = 1.51,95%confidence interval(CI) 1.02-2.24,P = 0.039]and TNM stage(HR = 1.36,95%CI 1.01-1.83,P= 0.041).However,other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores,including the modified Glasgow prognostic score,the prognostic nutritional index,and the combination of platelet count and NLR,were not.In TNM stage-stratified analysis,the prognostic significance of NLR-PLR was maintained in patients with stage Ⅰ(P < 0.001) and stage Ⅱ cancers(P= 0.022).In addition,the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for the NLR-PLR score was higher than those of other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores(P = 0.001).Conclusion:The preoperative NLR-PLR score is a useful predictor of postoperative survival in the patients with stage l-ll gastric cancer and may help identify high-risk patients for rational therapy and timely follow-up.Xiaowei Sun Xuechao Liu Jianjun Liu Shangxiang Chen Dazhi Xu Wei Li Youqing Zhan Yuanfang Li Yingbo Chen Zhiwei Zhou 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer2016,35,7:25
2A Plant Lectin Receptor-like Kinase Phosphorylates the Bacterial Effector AvrPtoB to Dampen Its Virulence in Arabidopsis显示文摘Plasma membrane-localized receptor-like kinases(RLKs)perceive conserved pathogen-associated molecular pattems(PAMPs)in plants,leading to PAMP-triggered immunity(PTI).TheArabidopsis thaliana lectin RLK LecRK-Ⅸ.2 has been shown to regulate the bacterial flagellin-derived peptide flg22-induced PTI.Here,we discover that Pseudomonas syringae effector AvrPtoB targets LecRK-Ⅸ.2 for degradation,which subsequently suppresses LecRK-Ⅸ.2-mediated PTI and disease resistance.However,LecRK-Ⅸ.2 can interact with and phosphorylate AvrPtoB at serine site 335(S335).AvrPtoB self-associates in vitro and in vivo,and the association appears to be essential for its E3 ligase activity in ubiquitinating substrate in plants.Phosphorylation of S335 disrupts the self-association and as a result,phosphomimetic AvrPtoBS335D cannot ubiquitinate LecRK-Ⅸ.2 efficiently,leading to the compromised virulence of AvrPtoB in suppressing PTI responses.fig22 enhances AvrPtoB S335 phosphorylation by inducing the expression and activating of LecRK-Ⅸ.2.Our study demonstrates that host RLKs can modify pathogen effectors to dampen their virulence and undermine their ability in suppressing PTI.Ning Xu Xuming Luo Wei Wu Yingying Xing Yingbo Liang Yanzhi Liu Huasong Zou Hai-Lei Wei Jun Liu 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,10:5
3A nomogram to predict prognosis for gastric cancer with peritoneal dissemination显示文摘Objective: To identify independent prognostic factors to be included in a nomogram to predict the prognosis of gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination.Methods: This is a retrospective study on 684 patients with a histological diagnosis of gastric cancer with peritoneal dissemination from the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center as the development set, and 62 gastric cancer patients from the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University as the validation group. Chi-square test and Cox regression analysis were used to compare the clinicopathological variables and the prognosis of gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination. The Harrell's concordance index(C-index) and calibration curve were determined for comparisons of predictive ability of the nomogram.Results: Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that serum carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) level(P=0.032), ascites grading(P=0.008), presence of extraperitoneal metastasis(P<0.001), seeding status(P=0.016) and performance status(P=0.009) were independent prognostic factors for gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination in the development set. The nomogram model was constructed using these five factors. Internal validation showed that the C-index of the model was 0.641. For the external validation, the C-index of this model was 0.709.Conclusions: We developed and validated a nomogram to predict the prognosis for gastric cancer patients with peritoneal dissemination. 4Electronically coupled layered double hydroxide/MXene quantum dot metallic hybrids for high-performance flexible zinc–air batteries显示文摘Precise control of the local electronic structure and properties of electrocatalysts is important for enhancing the multifunctionality and durability of electrocatalysts and for correlating the structure/chemistry with the catalytic properties.Herein,we report electronically coupled metallic hybrids of NiFe layered double hydroxide nanosheet/Ti3C2 MXene quantum dots deposited on a nitrogen-doped graphene surface(LDH/MQD/NG)for high-performance flexible Zn-air batteries(ZABs).As verified from the Mott-Schottky and Nyquist plots,as well as spectroscopic,electrochemical,and computational analyses,the electronic and chemical coupling of LDH/MQD/NG modulates the local electronic and surface structure of the active LDH to provide metallic conductivity and abundant active sites,leading to significantly improved bifunctional activity and electrocatalytic kinetics.The rechargeable ZABs with LDH/MQD/NG hybrids are superior to the previous LDH-based ZABs,demonstrating a high power density(113.8 mW cm^(-2))and excellent cycle stability(150 h at 5 mA cm^(-2)).Moreover,the corresponding quasi solid-state ZABs are completely flexible and practical,affording a high power density of 57.6 mW cm^(-2)even in the bent state,and in real-life operation of tandem cells for powering various electronic devices.Xiaotong Han Nannan Li Peixun Xiong Min Gyu Jung Yingbo Kang Qingyun Dou Qing Liu Jin Yong Lee Ho Seok Park 2021InfoMat2021,3,10:4
5Prognostic potential of an immune score based on the density of CD8+ T cells, CD20+ B cells, and CD33+/p-STAT1+ double-positive cells and HMGB1 expression within cancer nests in stage ⅢA gastric cancer patients显示文摘Objective: There is heterogeneity in the prognosis of gastric cancers staged according to the tumornodes-metastasis(TNM) system.This study evaluated the prognostic potential of an immune score system to supplement the TNM staging system.Methods: An immunohistochemical analysis was conducted to assess the density of T cells, B cells, and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs) in cancer tissues from 100 stage ⅢA gastric cancer patients; the expression of the high-mobility group protein B1(HMGB1) was also evaluated in cancer cells.The relationship between the overall survival(OS), disease-free survival(DFS), and immunological parameters was analyzed.Results: An immune score system was compiled based on the prognostic role of the density of T cells, B cells, MDSCs, and the expression of HMGB1 in cancer tissues.The median 5-year survival of this group of patient was 32%.However, the 5-year survival rates of 80.0%, 51.7%, 0%, 5.8%, and 0% varied among the patients with an immune score of 4 to those with an immune score of 0 based on the immune score system, respectively.Similarly, differences in DFS rates were observed among the immune score subgroups.Conclusions: An immune score system could effectively identify the prognostic heterogeneity within stage ⅢA gastric cancer patients, implying that this immune score system may potentially supplement the TNM staging system, and help in identifying a more homogeneous group of patients who on the basis of prognosis can undergo adjuvant therapy.Jun Dong Jiao Li Shiming Liu Xingyu Feng Shi Chen Zhiwei Zhou Yingbo Chen Xiaoshi Zhang 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5:3
6Computational and Experimental Study of Cooling Process in Coke Dry Quenching Experimental Shaft显示文摘Owing to its merits in energy savings, environmental protection and coke quality improvement, the Coke Dry Quenching (CDQ) technology is favorite in coke making industry today. In order to validate the mathematical model developed for the cooling process of real CDQ shaft, the one-seventh scale experimental setup was established. With the air as the working fluid and the coke as the packed bed, the coke and gas temperatures and the pressure drop in the cooling shaft were measured. A mathematical model based on the non-Darcian and non-thermal equilibrium model for the cooling process of the CDQ experimental shaft was presented. The computational results were compared to the experimental data. 7Synthesis of novel hierarchical porous polymers with a nanowire-interconnected network structure from core-shell polymer nanoobjects显示文摘Design and fabrication of the micro/nanostructures of the network units is a critical issue for porous nanonetwork structured materials. Significant progress has been attained in construction of the network units with zero-dimensional spherical shapes.However, owing to the limitations of synthetic methods, construction of porous building blocks in one dimension featuring high aspect ratios for porous nanonetwork structured polymer(PNSP) remains largely unexplored. Here we present the successful design and preparation of PNSP with a novel type of one-dimensional network unit, i.e., microporous heterogeneous nanowire. Well-defined core-shell polymer nanoobjects prepared from a gelable block copolymer, poly(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate)-block-polystyrene are employed as building blocks, and facilely transformed into PNSP via hypercrosslinking of polystyrene shell. The as-prepared PNSP exhibits unique three-dimensional hierarchical nanonetwork morphologies with large surface area. 15Requirements model driven adaption and evolution of Internetware显示文摘Today’s software systems need to support complex business operations and processes.The development of the web-based software systems has been pushing up the limits of traditional software engineering methodologies and technologies as they are required to be used and updated almost real-time,so that users can interact and share the same applications over the internet as needed.These applications have to adapt quickly to the diversified and dynamic changing requirements in the physical,technological,economical and social environments.As a consequence,we are expecting a major paradigm shift in software engineering to reflect such changes in computing environment in order to better address the fundamental needs of organisations in this new era.Existing software technologies,such as model driven development,business process engineering,online(re-)configuration,composition and adaptation of managerial functionalities are being repurposed to reduce the time taken for software development by reusing software codes.The ability to dynamically combine contents from numerous web sites and local resources,and the ability to instantly publish services worldwide have opened up entirely new possibilities for software development.In retrospect to the ten years applied research on Internetware,we have witnessed such a paradigm shift,which brings about many changes to the developmental experience of conventional web applications.Several related technologies,such as cloud computing,service computing,cyber-physical systems and social computing,have converged to address this emerging issue with emphasis on different aspects.In this paper,we first outline the requirements that the Internetware software paradigm should meet to excel at web application adaptation;we then propose a requirement model driven method for adaptive and evolutionary applications;and we report our experiences and case studies of applying it to an enterprise information system.Our goal is to provide high-level guidelines to researchers and practitioners to meet the challenges of building adaptive industrial-strength applications with the spectrum of processes,techniques and facilities provided within the Internetware paradigm.LIU Lin YANG Chen WANG JianMin YE XiaoJun LIU YingBo YANG HongJi LIU XiaoDong 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,6:1
16Anti-blocking performance of ultrahigh-pressure waterjet assisted furrow opener for no-till seeder显示文摘No-till planting method is widely used for maize-wheat two-crops-a-year area in the North China Plain.However,cruel soil conditions,especially the large number of maize stalks which are hard to cutoff covering,often cause an unsatisfying planting quality.Based on the authors’previous investigation,ultrahigh-pressure(UHP)waterjet is capable to solve this problem and obtain qualified seedbeds.Thus,a UHP waterjet assisted furrow opener for no-till seeder was designed.Field tests showed that double-disc furrow openers worked well with UHP waterjet,since the sharpened disc blades could help to cut soil and residue,meanwhile,minimize soil disturbance.Response surface method(RSM)was used to investigate the relationship among forward speed,waterjet pressure,jet impingement angle and anti-blocking performance(stalks cutoff ratio and depth of soil cutting),and a Box-Behnken three-factor design was used to identify the optional operation parameters.A total of 17 combinations were conducted,and the results showed all three operation parameters significantly affected anti-blocking performance.Stalks cutoff ratio and depth of soil cutting increased with the increase of waterjet pressure,jet impingement angle,and decreased with the increase of forward speed.The optimization analysis indicated that when waterjet pressure was 267-280 MPa,jet impingement angle was 80.2°to 90.0°and forward speed was 4.00-4.42 km/h,the overall performance of UHP waterjet assisted double-disc furrow opener for no-till seeder was maximized.Stalks cutoff ratio could be above 95%and no blockage occurred.This study may provide a new approach and reference for the anti-blocking technology of no-tillage seeding.Hongnan Hu Hongwen Li Qingjie Wang Jin He Caiyun Lu Yingbo Wang Peng Liu 2020International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,2:1

19Cultivation of Hippeastrum vittatum Embryogenic Calli and Their Sensitivity to Antibiotics显示文摘In this study,an embryogenic callus induction and proliferation system for Hippeastrum vittatum was established,with the tender bulbs as explants. And then the sensitivity of the explants and calli to kanamycin and hygromycin was evaluated. The results suggested that the embryogenic calli were induced from tender bulbs and cultured in Murashige and Skoog( MS) medium supplemented with 0. 5 mg/L N-phenyl-N'-1,2,3-thiadiazol-5-ylurea( TDZ),1. 0 mg/L 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid( 2,4-D),and 30 g/L sucrose( pH5. 8) in the dark at 25 ± 1 ℃. Further study of the influence of kanamycin and hygromycin on callus induction and multiplication showed that,the lethal doses of kanamycin and hygromycin to bulb explants were 100 and 30 mg/L,respectively. All explants of H. vittatum died on the medium supplemented with 100 mg/L kanamycin or 30 mg/L hygromycin at the induction stage,and callus proliferation was completely inhibited by 100 mg/L kanamycin or 25 mg/L hygromycin,and all the calli died at last.
