1Astronomical tuning and magnetostratigraphy of Neogene biogenic reefs in Xisha Islands, South China Sea显示文摘Biogenic reefs are one of two major depositional types in the South China Sea, and are constructed by coral, algae and bryozoa. The West Pacific is a major area of biogenic reef development and plays a critical role in the global carbon cycle. However, the lack of geochronological studies in previous works inhibits our understanding of their contributions. Herein, we conduct a cyclostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic study on Neogene biogenic reefs using the XK–1 core that was drilled at the Shidao Island,Xisha(Paracel) Islands. The main findings of this study are:(1) the establishment of reliable magentostratigraphy for Ledong, Huangliu, Meishan and Sanya Formations;(2) the magnetic susceptibility variation can be inferred as growth index and tuned to the 405–ka long eccentricity cycle;(3) the astronomical geochronology suggests that the bottom ages for Ledong, Yinggehai, Huangliu, Meishan,and Sanya Formations are 2.2 Ma, 5.7 Ma, 10.4 Ma, 16.6 Ma, and 24.3 Ma, respectively; and (4) Earth's eccentricity and obliquity played predominant roles in biogenic reef establishment on orbital to tectonic timescales. 3Effects of litter quality and climate change along an elevational gradient on litter decomposition of subalpine forests, Eastern Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Temperature and freeze-thaw events are two key factors controlling litter decomposition in cold biomes.Predicted global warming and changes in freeze-thaw cycles therefore may directly or indirectly impact litter decomposition in those ecosystems. Here, we conducted a2-year-long litter decomposition experiment along an elevational gradient from 3000 to 3600 m to determine the potential effects of litter quality, climate warming and freeze-thaw on the mass losses of three litter types [dragon spruce(Picea asperata Mast.), red birch(Betula albosinensis Burk.), and minjiang fir(Abies faxoniana Rehd. et Wild)]. Marked differences in mass loss were observed among the litter types and sampling dates. Decay constant(k) values of red birch were significantly higher than those of the needle litters. However, mass losses between elevations did not differ significantly for any litter type.During the winter, lost mass contributed 18.3–28.8 % of the net loss rates of the first year. Statistical analysis showed that the relationships between mass loss and litter chemistry or their ratios varied with decomposition periods. Our results indicated that short-term field incubations could overestimate the k value of litter decomposition.Considerable mass was lost from subalpine forest litters during the wintertime. 4Organocopper(Ⅲ)Compounds with Well-defined Structures Undergo Reductive Elimination to Form C-C or C-Heteroatom Bonds显示文摘Reductive elimination around Cu(Ⅲ) atom arises an increasing attention,since this organometallic pathway has been often proposed in a range of Cu-based reactions.However,due to limited organocopper(Ⅲ)compounds with well-defined structures,this elementary reaction still remains an extremely challenging issue.In this review,structurally well-defined organocopper(Ⅲ)compounds are mainly divided into three classes based on their ligands:perfluoromethyl Cu(Ⅲ)compounds,macrocyclic ligand-based aryl-Cu(Ⅲ)compounds,and spiro organocopper(Ⅲ)compounds chelated by biden- tate Iigands.The majority of organocopper(Ⅲ)compounds display the typical square planar geometry.There also exist a few penta-coordinated organocopper(Ⅲ)complexes,which share a weak apical Cu-L bond.In order to form a cis Cu(Ⅲ)-C and Cu(Ⅲ)-Nu bonding geometry required for reductive elimination,the re-arrangement of coordination modes around tetra-coordinated Cu(Ⅲ)atoms is necessary.For the aryl-Cu(Ⅲ)cationic complexes with one Cu(Ⅲ)-C bond,the re-arrangement is triggered by the coordination of the fifth ligand (solvent or nucleophiles),while for the tetra-carbon-coordinated organocuprate(Ⅲ)compounds,the process might be realized via the cleavage of one Cu(Ⅲ)-C bond by attack of electrophiles.Stoichiometric and catalytic reactions involving well-defined organocopper(Ⅲ)compounds to form C-C or C-heteroatom bonds are discussed to support their intermediacy.Liang Liu Zhenfeng Xi 2018Chinese Journal of Chemistry2018,36,12:5
5Controlling effects of differential swelling index on evolution of coal permeability显示文摘Coal permeability measurements are normally conducted under the assumption that gas pressure in the matrix is equalized with that in fracture and that gas sorption-induced swelling/shrinking strain is uniformly distributed within the coal.However,the validity of this assumption has long been questioned and differential strain between the fracture strain and the bulk strain has long been considered as the primary reason for the inconsistency between experimental data and poroelasticity solutions.Although efforts have been made to incorporate the impact into coal permeability models,the fundamental nature of those efforts to split the matrix strain between fracture and coal bulk remains questionable.In this study,a new concept of differential swelling index(DSI)was derived to theoretically define the relation among sorption-induced strains of the coal bulk,fracture,and coal matrix at the equilibrium state.DSI was a function of the equilibrium pressure and its magnitudes were regulated by the Langmuir constants of both the matrix and the coal bulk.Furthermore,a spectrum of DSI-based coal permeability models was developed to explicitly consider the effect of differential strains.These models were verified with the experimental data under the conditions of uniaxial strain,constant confining pressure,and constant effective stress.Chuanzhong Jiang Zhenfeng Zhao Xiwei Zhang Jishan Liu Derek Elsworth Guanglei Cui 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,3:5
6Vertical migration through faults and hydrocarbon accumulation patterns in deepwater areas of the Qiongdongnan Basin显示文摘In the Qiongdongnan Basin, faults are well developed. Based on the drilling results, the traps controlled two or more faults are oil-rich. However, when only one fault cut through the sand body, there is no sign for hydrocarbon accumulation in the sandstone. In terms of this phenomenon, the principle of reservoir-forming controlled by fault terrace is proposed, i.e., when the single fault activates, because of the incompressibility of pore water, the resistance of pore and the direction of buoyancy, it is impossible for hydrocarbon to accumulate in sandstone. But when there are two or more faults, one of the faults acts as the spillway so the hydrocarbon could fill in the pore of sandstone through other faults. In total five gas bearing structures and four failure traps are considered, as examples to demonstrate our findings. 7Spatio-temporal-spectral-angular observation model that integrates observations from UAV and mobile mapping vehicle for better urban mapping显示文摘In a complex urban scene,observation from a single sensor unavoidably leads to voids in observations,failing to describe urban objects in a comprehensive manner.In this paper,we propose a spatio-temporal-spectral-angular observation model to integrate observations from UAV and mobile mapping vehicle platform,realizing a joint,coordinated observation operation from both air and ground.We develop a multi-source remote sensing data acquisition system to effectively acquire multi-angle data of complex urban scenes.Multi-source data fusion solves the missing data problem caused by occlusion and achieves accurate,rapid,and complete collection of holographic spatial and temporal information in complex urban scenes.We carried out an experiment on Baisha Town,Chongqing,China and obtained multi-sensor,multi-angle data from UAV and mobile mapping vehicle.We first extracted the point cloud from UAV and then integrated the UAV and mobile mapping vehicle point cloud.The inte-grated results combined both the characteristics of UAV and mobile mapping vehicle point cloud,confirming the practicability of the proposed joint data acquisition platform and the effectiveness of spatio-temporal-spectral-angular observation model.Compared with the observation from UAV or mobile mapping vehicle alone,the integrated system provides an effective data acquisition solution toward comprehensive urban monitoring.Zhenfeng Shao Gui Cheng Deren Li Xiao Huang Zhipeng Lu Jian Liu 2021Geo-Spatial Information Science2021,24,4:2
8Winter soil CO_2 efflux in two contrasting forest ecosystems on the eastern Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Significant CO_2 fluxes from snow-covered soils occur in cold biomes. However, little is known about winter soil respiration on the eastern Tibetan Plateau of China. We therefore measured winter soil CO_2 fluxes and estimated annual soil respiration in two contrasting coniferous forest ecosystems(a Picea asperata plantation and a natural forest).Mean winter soil CO_2 effluxes were 1.08 lmol m^-2s^-1in the plantation and 1.16 lmol m^-2s^-1in the natural forest.These values are higher than most reported winter soil CO_2 efflux values for temperate or boreal forest ecosystems.Winter soil respiration rates were similar for our two forest ecosystems but mean soil CO_2 efflux over the growing season was higher in the natural forest than in the plantation. The estimated winter and annual soil effluxes for the natural forest were 176.3 and 1070.3 g m^-2, respectively, based on the relationship between soil respiration and soil temperature,which were 17.2 and 9.7 % greater than their counterparts in the plantation. The contributions of winter soil respiration to annual soil efflux were 15.4 % for the plantation and 16.5 %for the natural forest and were statistically similar. Our results indicate that winter soil CO_2 efflux from frozen soils in the alpine coniferous forest ecosystems of the eastern Tibetan Plateau was considerable and was an important component of annual soil respiration. 12Enhanced nitrogen removal and microbial analysis in partially saturated constructed wetland for treating anaerobically digested swine waste water显示文摘Nitrogen removal of wastewater containing high-strength ammonium by the constructed wetlands (CWs) has been paid much attention. In this study, the ability of a partially saturated CW to treat anaerobically-digested decentralized swine wastewater under varying operating parameters from summer to winter was investigated. The partially saturated CW achieved better NH4^+-N and TN removal by tidal flow than intermittent flow. With surface loading rates of 0.108, 0.027, and 0.029 kg/(m^2·d) for COD, NH4^+-N, and TN, the partially saturated CW by tidal operation achieved corresponding removal efficiencies of 85.94%, 61.20%, and 57.41%, respectively, even at 10℃. When the rapid-adsorption of NH4^+-N and the bioregeneration of zeolites reached dynamically stable, the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in the aerobic zeolite layer was observed and accounted for 58.82% of the total denitrification of CW. The results of Illumina high-throughput sequencing also indicated that nitnfiers (Nitrospira and Rhizomicrobiurri) and denitrifiers (Rhodanobacter and Thauera) simultaneously existed in the zeolite layer. The dominant existence of versatile organic degraders and nitrifiers/denitrifiers in the zeolite layer was related to the removal of most COD and nitrogen in this zone. 16Genomic decoding of breeding history to guide breeding-by-design in rice显示文摘Deciphering the intrinsic molecular logic of empirical crop breeding from a genomic perspective is a decisive prerequisite for breeding-by-design(BbD),but remains not well established.Here,we decoded the historical features of past rice breeding by phenotyping and haplotyping 546 accessions covering the majority of cultivars bred in the history of Northeast China(NEC).We revealed that three groups founded the genetic diversities in NEC rice with distinct evolution patterns and traced and verified the breeding footprints to known or genome-wide association study(GWAS)-detected quantitative trait loci(QTLs),or introgressions from indica sub-species with chronological changes in allele frequencies.Then we summarized a rice breeding trend/principle in NEC,and combined with the successful example in breeding and application of Zhongkefa5 to demonstrate the guiding value of our conclusion for BbD in practice.Our study provides a paradigm for decoding the breeding history of a specific crop to guide BbD,which may have implications in different crop breeding.Zhuo Chen Qingyun Bu Guifu Liu Maoqing Wang Hongru Wang Huazhao Liu Xiufeng Li Hong Li Jun Fang Yan Liang Zhenfeng Teng Sai Kang Hong Yu Zhukuan Cheng Yongbiao Xue Chengzhi Liang Jiuyou Tang Jiayang Li Chengcai Chu 2023National Science Review2023,10,5:1
