| 1 | Corrosion and biocompatibility improvement of magnesium-based alloys as bone implant materials:a review显示文摘Magnesium(Mg)or its alloys are widely tested as potential orthopedic implants,particularly as biodegradable alloys for fracture fixation due to their mechanical properties are close to those of bone.Currently,available Mg or its alloys are confronted with challenges in passing regulatory biosafety tests prior to clinical trials due to its fast degradation and associated degradation products.The degradation of Mg is accompanied by the release of Mg ions,the rise of pH and osmolality in surrounding environments.According to the standard of ISO 10993 Part 13,the pH value shall be appropriate to the site of intended use maintaining in an appropriate range.Approaches to overcome these challenges include the selection of adequate alloying elements,proper surface treatment techniques and control of the degradation rate of Mg or its alloys developed as orthopedic implants.To date,Mg or its alloy-based bone implants have not yet been widely used in clinical applications as medical implants.This review critically summarized published methods to improve the corrosion resistance of Mg and its alloys.The current progress on in vitro cytotoxicity and in vivo biocompatibility properties of these metals was also reviewed.This review aimed to provide a reference for further research and development(R&D)of biodegradable Mg and its alloys with regard to the evaluation of their corrosion process and biocompatibility and facilitation of their translation to clinical applications. | Long Li Ming Zhang Ye Li Jie Zhao Ling Qin Yuxiao Lai | 2017 | Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,2: | 9 |

| 4 | Network pharmacological prediction and molecular docking analysis of the combination of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz.and Paeonia lactiflora Pall.in the treatment of functional constipation and its verification显示文摘Background:We aimed to reveal the mechanism of functional constipation in the treatment of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz.(AMK)and Paeonia lactiflora Pall.(PLP).Methods:The main active ingredients of AMK and PLP were screened by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP)platform.A database of functional constipation targets was established by GeneCard and OMIM.An“ingredient-target”network map was constructed with Cytoscape software(version 3.7.1),and molecular docking analysis was performed on the components and genes with the highest scores.The rats in the normal group were given saline,and those in the other groups were given 10 mg/kg diphenoxylate once a day for 14 days.The serum and intestinal tissue levels of adenosine monophosphate(cAMP),protein kinase A(PKA),and adenylyl cyclase(AC)of the rats and aquaporin(AQP)1,AQP3,and AQP8 were measured.Results:AMK and PLP had a significant role in the regulation of targets in the treatment of functional constipation.After treatment with AMK,PLP,or mosapride,the serum and intestinal tissue levels of AC,cAMP,and PKA were significantly downregulated.Groups receiving AMK and PLP or mosapride exhibited a reduction in the level of AQP1,AQP3,and AQP8 to varying degrees.Conclusion:Molecular docking analysis revealed that AMK and PLP had a significant role in the regulation of targets in the treatment of functional constipation.Studies have confirmed that AMK and PLP can also affect AC,cAMP,and PKA.AC,cAMP,and PKA in model rats were significantly downregulated.AQP expression is closely related to AC,cAMP,and PKA.AMK and PLP can reduce the expression of AQP1,AQP3,and AQP9 in the colon of constipated rats. | Yuxiao Meng Xiaojun Li Xiaoting Wang Lu Zhang Jiaqi Guan | 2022 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,2: | 4 |
| 5 | The Development of a Two-finger Dexterous Bionic Hand with Three Grasping Patterns-NWAFU Hand显示文摘Bionic inspiration from human thumb and index finger was the drive to design a high-performance two-finger dexterous hand.The size of each phalanx and the motion range of each joint in the human thumb and index finger were summarized,and the features of three grasping patterns were described in detail.Subsequently,a two-finger dexterous bionic hand with 6 Degrees of Freedom(DoFs)was developed.Both the mechanical thumb and index finger were made up of three rigid phalanx links and three mechanical rotation joints.Some grasp-release tests validated that the bionic hand can perform three grasping patterns:power grasp,precision pinch and lateral pinch.The grasping success rates were high under the following cases:(1)when power grasping was used to grasp a ring with external diameter 20 mm-140 mm,a cylinder with mass<500 g,or objects with cylinder,sphere or ellipsoid shape;(2)when the precision pinch was used to grasp thin or small objects;(3)when the lateral pinch was used to grasp low length-to-width ratio of objects.The work provided a method for developing two-fimger bionic hand with three grasping patterns,and further revealed the linkage between the difference in fimger structure and size and the hand manipulation dexterity. | Zhiguo Li Zhongliang Hou Yuxiao Mao Yan Shang Lukasz Kuta | 2020 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,4: | 3 |
| 6 | A trilogy antimicrobial strategy for multiple infections of orthopedic implants throughout their life cycle显示文摘Bacteria-associated infection represents one of the major threats for orthopedic implants failure during their life cycles.However,ordinary antimicrobial treatments usually failed to combat multiple waves of infections during arthroplasty and prosthesis revisions etc.As these incidents could easily introduce new microbial pathogens in/onto the implants.Herein,we demonstrate that an antimicrobial trilogy strategy incorporating a sophisticated multilayered coating system leveraging multiple ion exchange mechanisms and fine nanotopography tuning,could effectively eradicate bacterial infection at various stages of implantation.Early stage bacteriostatic effect was realized via nano-topological structure of top mineral coating.Antibacterial effect at intermediate stage was mediated by sustained release of zinc ions from doped CaP coating.Strong antibacterial potency was validated at 4 weeks post implantation via an implanted model in vivo.Finally,the underlying zinc titanate fiber network enabled a long-term contact and release effect of residual zinc,which maintained a strong antibacterial ability against both Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli even after the removal of top layer coating.Moreover,sustained release of Sr2+and Zn2+during CaP coating degradation substantially promoted implant osseointegration even under an infectious environment by showing more peri-implant new bone formation and substantially improved bone-implant bonding strength. | Yikai Wang Wangsiyuan Teng Zengjie Zhang Xingzhi Zhou Yuxiao Ye Peng Lin An Liu Yan Wu Binghao Li Chongda Zhang Xianyan Yang Weixu Li Xiaohua Yu Zhongru Gou Zhaoming Ye | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,7: | 3 |
| 7 | Antioxidative and hepatoprotective activities of a novel polysaccharide (LSAP) from Lepista sordida mycelia显示文摘A novel alkali-soluble polysaccharide from Lepista sordida(LSAP)mycelia with antioxidative and hepatoprotective activities was characterized.The weight-average molecular weight and number-average molecular weight of LSAP were 1.442×10^(3) and 6.05×10^(2) kDa,respectively.LSAP was consisted of glucose(57.9%),xylose(31.8%),and small amounts of rhamnose,arabinose,galactose,glucuronic acid,and galacturonic acid(1.2%–3.1%).The FT-IR and 2D NMR confi rmed that LSAP was composed of Xylp,Araf,4-O-Me-α-D-GlcpA,(1→4)-linkedβ-D-Glcp,and(1→4)-α-D-GalA,andβ-glycosidic linkages between these sugar units.LSAP displayed notable effects on 1,1-dephenyl-2-picryhydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging,hydrogen peroxide scavenging,lipid peroxidation inhibitory ability,reducing power and Fe^(2+)chelating property.These biological effects were further verifi ed by suppressing CCl_(4)-induced oxidative liver damage in mice at doses of 100 and 200 mg/kg.Administration of LSAP in mice prior to CCl_(4) signifi cantly prevented the CCl_(4)-induced elevation in serum alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,and hepatic malondialdehyde.Mice treated with LSAP demonstrated to increase activities in superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)in the liver.We also found out that LSAP prevented CCl_(4)-induced oxidative liver histological alteration.LSAP may exert hepatoprotective effects against CCl_(4)-induced damage through antioxidant mechanisms in model mice. | Yingyin Xu Yuanhui Li Yuxiao Lu Xiaobin Feng Guoting Tian Qinghong Liu | 2021 | Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,4: | 2 |

The isothermal oxidation behaviors of the coatings and the uncoated IC20 alloy at 1 100 °C are comparatively investigated. For the coatings, less weight gains are obtained compared to the uncoated alloy after 100 h thermal exposure. The Al-Si coating exhibits the best oxidation resistance, while the addition of Cr accelerates the scale spallation. Phase transformation from β-NiAl to γ and γ′ occurs in the coating after oxidation for extended periods. | 10 | Performance-enhanced and cost-effective triboelectric nanogenerator based on stretchable electrode for wearable SpO2 monitoring显示文摘Recently,stretchable and wearable health monitoring equipment has greatly improved human’s daily life,which sets higher demands for portable power source in stretchability,sustainability,and biocompatibility.In this work,we proposed a stretchable triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)based on stretchable poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)/porous carbon hybrid for oxyhemoglobin saturation(SpO2)monitoring.To combine advantages of carbon material for its high conductivity and organic electrode for its high stretchability,we spin-coated a solution of PEDOT:PSS/porous carbon onto a plasma-treated pre-stretched Ecoflex film to fabricate a stretchable electrode with rough surface.Due to its roughness and high potential difference with the dielectric material,the stretchable-electrode-based TENG exhibited better performance compared to the pristine TENG based on carbon or PEDOT:PSS material.The output voltage and current reached up to 51.5 V and 13.2μA as the carbon concentration increased.More importantly,the performance further increased under large strain(100%)which is suitable for wearable systems.Finally,the device demonstrated its application potential for powering a flexible blood oxygen monitor.This simple and cost-effective method can enhance the stretchability and stability of organic/inorganic electrode-based TENG,which paves the development of high-performance stretchable TENG. | Huamin Chen Wei Yang Cheng Zhang Mingqiang Wu Wenjie Li Yuxiao Zou Longfeng Lv Hualiang Yu Huizhen Ke Ruping Liu Yun Xu Jun Wang Zhou Li | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 2 |
| 11 | A pillared-layer metal-organic framework for efficient separation of C_(3)H_(8)/C_(2)H_(6)/CH_(4) in natural gas显示文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have great potentials as adsorbents for natural gas purification.However,the trade-off between selectivity and adsorption capacity remains a challenge.Herein,we report a pillared-layer metal-organic framework Ni(HBTC)(bipy)for efficiently separating the C_(3)H_(8)/C_(2)H_(6)/CH_(4) mixture.The experimental results show that the adsorption capacity of C_(3)H_(8) and C_(2)H_(6) on Ni(HBTC)(bipy)are as high as 6.18 and 5.85 mmol·g^(-1),while only 0.93 mmol·g^(-1) for CH_(4) at 298 K and 100 kPa.Especially,the adsorption capacity of C_(3)H_(8) at 5 kPa can reach an unprecedented 4.52 mmol·g^(-1) and for C_(2)H_(6) it is 1.48 mmol·g^(-1) at 10 kPa.The ideal adsorbed solution theory predicted C_(3)H_(8)/CH_(4) selectivity is as high as 1857.0,superior to most of the reported materials.Breakthrough experiment results indicated that material could completely separate the C_(3)H_(8)/C_(2)H_(6)/CH_(4) mixture.Therefore,Ni(HBTC)(bipy)is a promising material for separation of natural gas. | Pengtao Guo Miao Chang Tongan Yan Yuxiao Li Dahuan Liu | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,2: | 2 |
