| 1 | Monitoring microbial community structure and succession of an A/O SBR during start-up period using PCR-DGGE显示文摘Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE) protocol was employed for revealing microbial community structure and succession in a sequential anaerobic and aerobic reactor performing enhanced biological phosphorus removal(EBPR) during start-up period.High phosphorus removal was achieved after 15 d.On day 30,phosphorus removal effciency reached to 83.2% and the start-up was finished.DGGE profiles of periodical sludge samples showed that dominant microbial species were 19 OTUs(operational taxonomy units).Unweighted pair-group method using arithmetic averages(UPGMA) clustering analysis revealed that rapid community succession correlated to low phosphorus removal rate and high phosphorus removal effciency reflected on steady community structure.Sequencing results indicated that determined sequences(12 OTUs) belonged to Proteobacterium,Actinobacteria,Gemmatimonadales and unaffiliate group.Proteobacterium,Tetrasphaera elongate and Gemmatimonas aurantiaca may act important roles in phosphorus removal.With little amount as known glycogen accumulating organisms,Candidatus Competibacter phosphatis still at accumulating-phase had limited effect on microbial community structure.When climax community was obtained,dominant microbes were 14 OTUs.Microbes in a large amount were uncultured bacterium Thauera sp.,uncultured γ-Proteobacterium and Tetrasphaera elongata. | WANG Xiuheng,ZHANG Kun,REN Nanqi,LI Nan,REN Lijiao State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment,Harbin Institute of Technology,Harbin 150090,China. | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,2: | 17 |
| 2 | Microbial community structure in an integrated A/O reactor treating diluted livestock wastewater during start-up period显示文摘In order to investigate the correlation between reactor performance and the microorganisms,an integrated A/O reactor was operated for 72 days to treat diluted livestock wastewater.Chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency increased from 79% to 94%,with total nitrogen (TN) removal efficiency from 37% to 50% (HRT 7.4 hr) when the influent COD and TN were ca.1500 mg/L and 95 mg/L,respectively,and the outlet COD concentration was less than 100 mg/L at the end.Microbial community was monitored during start-up period by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) based on 16S rRNA gene.DGGE profiles showed that microbial community had changed significantly during the start-up and these shifts were in accordance with the reactor performance.UPGMA clustering analysis showed that 14 anaerobic samples fell into five main groups and so did the aerobic ones,but the grouping patterns were different.Phylogenetic analysis indicated that microbial populations in the anaerobic compartment belonged to Firmicutes,Proteobacteria,Chloroflexi and Bacteroidetes,while Proteobacteria,Bacteroidetes,Firmicutes,Verrucomicrobiae and Nitrospira were present in the aerobic compartment.In the anaerobic compartment,more fermentative and acetogenic bacteria were detected during the start-up while denitrifying bacteria faded away.Two functional populations such as Nitrospira defluvii and Dechloromonas denitrificans were observed when nitrogen removal was high,indicating that simultaneous nitrification and denitrification occurred in the aerobic compartment. | Lijiao Ren,Yining Wu,Nanqi Ren,Kun Zhang,Defeng Xing State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment,Harbin Institute of Technology,Harbin 150090,China. | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5: | 14 |
| 3 | Effects of grass contour hedgerow systems on controlling soil erosion in red soil hilly areas,Southeast China显示文摘Soil erosion by water is a well-recognized serious environmental problem in the world.While contour hedgerow systems are an effective method for soil water conservation,there are a few studies on its effect in the red soil hilly areas in Southeast China.With a fixed field experiment,we constructed a runoff plot at hilly area in Zhuji County,Zhejiang province,to evaluate the effect of the grass hedgerows in soil water conservation,and to determine the optimized hedgerow patterns.Hemerocallis citrine(HC)and Ophiopogon japonicas(OJ) were selected to build the hedgerows in patterns of one row and two rows.The REE method was used to trace the source of the sediment for a better understanding of the characteristic and mechanism of erosion with hedgerows control.Our results showed that(1) hedgerows reduced erosion and surface runoff by 31.99-67.22%and 15.44-45.11%,respectively;(2) hedgerows delayed the development of rills;(3) hedgerows reduced the soil nutrients loss;(4) hedgerows reshaped the soil physical properties,especially in increasing > 0.25 mm water-stable aggregates.Taken together,our results suggest that two-row OJ is the optimized contour hedgerow pattern in the experiment condition,and downward sloping land should have the highest priority to take measures for soil water conservation.This research comprehensively studied the effects and mechanism of contour hedgerows in controlling soil and water loss in red soil hilly areas,Southeast China,so that the practice of soil and water conservation can be implemented more effectively in these areas. | Ji Fan Lijiao Yan Pei Zhang Ge Zhang | 2015 | International Journal of Sediment Research2015,30,2: | 13 |
| 4 | Progress of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) regeneration through tissue culture显示文摘Background: Safflower regeneration through tissue culture has long been limited to low frequency and lack of an efficient protocol that suitable for most safflower cultivars. In past decades, researches had been carried out to investigate safflower regeneration through tissue culture and great progress had been made. Objective: To investigate factors that affect safflower regeneration through tissue culture principally. Methods: This article summarized available literatures about advancements in safflower regeneration, especially discussed factors affecting safflower tissue culture in detail. Results: Safflower regeneration was fairly hard than other congeneric plants, such as chrysanthemum. The genotype, seedling age, type of explants, medium components, plant growth regulators and other additives all had specific influences on safflower tissue culture. The research objective is to achieve joint-position consensus of multiple robotic agents interconnected on directed graphs containing a spanning tree. A novel characteristic model-based distributed adaptive control scenario is proposed with a state-relied projection estimation law and a characteristic model-based distributed controller. The performance analysis is also unfolded where the uniform ultimate boundedness(UUB) of consensus errors is derived by resorting to the discrete-time-domain stability analysis tool and the graph theory. | 8 | Hydrological behaviour and water balance analysis for Xitiaoxi catchment of Taihu Basin显示文摘With the rapid social and economic development of the Taihu region,Taihu Lake now faces an increasingly severe eutrophication problem.Pollution from surrounding catchments contributes greatly to the eutrophication of water bodies in the region.Investigation of surface flow and associated mass transport for the Xitiaoxi catchment is of a significant degree of importance as the Xitiaoxi catchment is one of the major catchments within the Taihu region.A SWAT-based distributed hydrological model was established for the Xitiaoxi catchment.The model was calibrated and verified using hydrometeorological data from 1988 to 2001.The results indicate that the modeled daily and annual stream flow match the observed data both in the calibration period and the verification period,with a linear regression coefficient R2 and a coefficient e for modeled daily stream flow greater than 0.8 at Hengtangcun and Fanjiacun gauge stations.The results show that the runoff process in the Xitiaoxi catchment is affected both by rainfall and human activities(e.g.,reservoirs and polder areas).Moreover,the human activities weaken flood peaks more noticeably during rainstorms.The water balance analysis reveals the percentages of precipitation made up by surface flow,evapotranspiration,groundwater recharge and the change of soil storage,all of which are considered useful to the further understanding of the hydrological processes in the Xitiaoxi catchment.This study provides a good base for further studies in mass transport modeling and comparison of modeling results from similar hydrological models. | Xue Lijuan Li Lijiao Zhang Qi | 2008 | Water Science and Engineering2008,1,3: | 3 |
| 9 | Aluminum and phosphorus codoped “superaerophobic” Co3O4 microspheres for highly efficient electrochemical water splitting and Zn-air batteries显示文摘Multifunctional non-precious catalysts for hydrogen/oxygen evolution reaction(HER/OER) and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) constitute the bottleneck in the applications in electrochemical overall water splitting(OWS) and Zn-air batteries. Herein, a trifunctional electrocatalyst of urchin-like Al,P-codoped Co3O4 microspheres supported on Ni foam(denoted as AP-CONPs/NF) was fabricated via a hydrothermal process and subsequent low-temperature annealing and phosphorization, exhibiting enhanced OER, HER and ORR activities compared with single-doped and undoped samples. Their surface self-organized microstructure and excellent 'superaerophobic' feature make a high bubble repellency, which boost diffusion of reactants and electrolyte-electrode intimate contact. The codoping of Al and P elements into Co3O4 betters right the balance among surface chemical state, the increased oxygen vacancies and the promoted charge transfer. | 10 | Distributed Force/Position Consensus Tracking of Networked Robotic Manipulators显示文摘In this paper, we address the tracking problem of distributed force/position for networked robotic manipulators in the presence of dynamic uncertainties. The end-effectors of the manipulators are in contact with flat compliant environment with uncertain stiffness and distance. The control objective is that the robotic followers track the convex hull spanned by the leaders under directed graphs. We propose a distributed adaptive force control scheme with an adaptive force observer to achieve the asymptotic force synchronization in constrained space, which also maintains a cascaded closed-loop structure separating the system into kinematic module and dynamic module. A decentralized stiffness updating law is also proposed to deal with the environment uncertainties. The convergence of tracking errors of force and position is proved using Lyapunov stability theory and input-output stability analysis tool. The contents of palmatine in trunk bark and root bark from Lesser Khingan Mountains increased with age, which is significantly opposite to other three vegetation types. | 17 | A multiphase sodium vanadium phosphate cathode material for high-rate sodium-ion batteries显示文摘The unsatisfactory rate capability and poor cycling stability at high rate of sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have impeded their practical applications. Herein, a Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)/Na_(3)V_(3)(PO_(4))_(4) multiphase cathode materials for high-rate and long cycling SIBs was successfully synthesized by regulation the stoichiometric ratio of raw materials. The combined experiment and simulation results show that the multiphase materials consisted of NASICON structural phase Na3V2(PO4)3 and layered structure phase Na_(3)V_(3)(PO_(4))_(4), possess abundant phase boundaries. Electrochemical experiments demonstrate that the multiphase materials maintain a remarkable reversible capacity of 69.0 mA h g^(-1) even at an ultrahigh current density of 100 C with a high capacity retention of 81.25 % even after 10,000 cycles.
