2Single whispering-gallery mode lasing in polymer bottle microresonators via spatial pump engineering显示文摘Single-mode lasing in whispering-gallery mode(WGM)microresonators is challenging to achieve.In bottle microresonators,the highly non-degenerated WGMs are spatially well-separated along the long-axis direction and provide mode-selection capability.In this work,by engineering the pump intensity to modify the spatial gain profiles of bottle microresonators,we demonstrate a simple and general approach to realizing single-mode WGM lasing in polymer bottle microresonators.The pump intensity is engineered into an interference distribution on the bottle microresonator surface.By tuning the spacing between axial positions of the interference pump patterns,the mode intensity profiles of single-bottle WGMs can be spatially overlapped with the interference stripes,intrinsically enabling single-mode lasing and selection.Attractive advantages of the system,including high sidemode suppression factors 420 dB,large spectral tunability 48 nm,low-lasing threshold and reversible control,are presented.Our demonstrated approach may have a variety of promising applications,ranging from tunable single-mode lasing and sensing to nonlinear optics.Fuxing Gu Fuming Xie Xing Lin Shuangyi Linghu Wei Fang Heping Zeng Limin Tong Songlin Zhuang 2017Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1:17

4Classification of hyperspectral remote sensing images using frequency spectrum similarity显示文摘An algorithm of hyperspectral remote sensing images classification is proposed based on the frequency spectrum of spectral signature.The spectral signature of each pixel in the hyperspectral image is taken as a discrete signal,and the frequency spectrum is obtained using discrete Fourier transform.The discrepancy of frequency spectrum between ground objects' spectral signatures is visible,thus the difference between frequency spectra of reference and target spectral signature is used to measure the spectral similarity.Canberra distance is introduced to increase the contribution from higher frequency components.Then,the number of harmonics involved in the proposed algorithm is determined after analyzing the frequency spectrum energy cumulative distribution function of ground object.In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm,two hyperspectral remote sensing images are adopted as experimental data.The proposed algorithm is compared with spectral angle mapper (SAM),spectral information divergence (SID) and Euclidean distance (ED) using the product accuracy,user accuracy,overall accuracy,average accuracy and Kappa coefficient.The results show that the proposed algorithm can be applied to hyperspectral image classification effectively.WANG Ke GU XingFa YU Tao MENG QingYan ZHAO LiMin FENG Li 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,4:10
5Estimation of forest volumes by integrating Landsat TM imagery and forest inventory data显示文摘Accurate information about forest volumes is essential for forest management planning. The survey interval of the Forest Resource Inventory of China (FRIC) is too long to meet the demand for timely decision-making required for forest protection, management, and utilization. Analysis of satellite imagery provides good potential for more frequent reporting of forest parameters. In this study, we describe an application of the k-nearest neighbors (kNN) method to Landsat TM imagery for improving estimation of forest volumes. Several spectral features were tested and compared in forest volume estimations, including normalized difference vegetation index, environmental vegetation index, and the combination of the spectral features. The combined index resulted in the most accurate volume estimations. The kNN estimator and the combined index were then used in forest volume estimation. The estimation error (RMSE) of the total volume was44.2%, much lower than those for Larix forest (the RMSE was 51.7%) and those for the Korean pine and broadleaved forests (the estimation errors were over 71.7% and 88.19%,respectively). 6Daytime HONO formation in the suburban area of the megacity Beijing, China显示文摘Nitrous acid(HONO),as a primary precursor of OH radicals,has been considered one of the most important nitrogencontaining species in the atmosphere.Up to 30%of primary OH radical production is attributed to the photolysis of HONO.However,the major HONO formation mechanisms are still under discussion.During the Campaigns of Air Quality Research in Beijing and Surrounding Region(CAREBeijing2006)campaign,comprehensive measurements were carried out in the megacity Beijing,where the chemical budget of HONO was fully constrained.The average diurnal HONO concentration varied from 0.33 to 1.2 ppbv.The net OH production rate from HONO,POH(HONO)net,was on average(from 05:00 to 19:00)7.1×106 molecule/(cm3 s),2.7 times higher than from O3 photolysis.This production rate demonstrates the important role of HONO in the atmospheric chemistry of megacity Beijing.An unknown HONO source(Punknown)with an average of 7.3×106molecule/(cm3 s)was derived from the budget analysis during daytime.Punknown provided four times more HONO than the reaction of NO with OH did.The diurnal variation of Punknown showed an apparent photo-enhanced feature with a maximum around 12:00,which was consistent with previous studies at forest and rural sites.Laboratory studies proposed new mechanisms to recruit NO2 and J(NO2)in order to explain a photo-enhancement of of Punknown.In this study,these mechanisms were validated against the observation-constraint Punknown.The reaction of exited NO2 accounted for only 6%of Punknown,and Punknown poorly correlated with[NO2](R=0.26)and J(NO2)[NO2](R=0.35).These results challenged the role of NO2 as a major precursor of the missing HONO source.YANG Qiang SU Hang LI Xin CHENG YaFang LU KeDing CHENG Peng GU JianWei GUO Song HU Min ZENG LiMin ZHU Tong ZHANG YuanHang 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,7:8
7Confined spaces path following for cable-driven snake robots with prediction lookup and interpolation algorithms显示文摘While cable-driven snake robots are promising in exploring confined spaces, their hyper-redundancy makes the collision-free motion planning difficult. In this paper, by combining the prediction lookup and interpolation algorithms, we present a new path following method for cable-driven snake robots to high-efficiently slither into complex terrains along a desired path. In our method, we first discretize the desired path into points, and develop the prediction lookup algorithm to efficiently find the points matched with joints of the robot. According to geometric relations between the prediction lookup results and link length of the robot, we develop the interpolation algorithm to reduce the tracking errors caused by the discretization. Finally, simulations and experiments of inspections in two confined spaces including the obstacle array and pipe tank system are performed on our custom-built 25 degree of freedoms(DOFs) cable-driven snake robot. 8A Multicenter Study of Viral Aetiology of Community-Acquired Pneumonia in Hospitalized Children in Chinese Mainland显示文摘Community-acquired pneumonia(CAP) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide.In this study,we aimed to describe the aetiology of viral infection of pediatric CAP in Chinese mainland.During November2014 to June 2016,the prospective study was conducted in 13 hospitals.The hospitalized children under 18 years old who met the criteria for CAP were enrolled.The throat swabs or nasopharyngeal aspirates(NPAs) were collected which were then screened 18 respiratory viruses using multiplex PCR assay.Viral pathogens were present in 56.6%(1539/2721) of the enrolled cases,with the detection rate of single virus in 39.8% of the cases and multiple viruses in 16.8% of the cases.The most frequently detected virus was respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)(15.2%,414/2721).The highest detection rate of virus was in <6-month-age group(70.7%,292/413).RSV,human metapneumovirus(HMPV),human parainfluenza viruses(HPIVs) and influenza B virus(Flu B) showed the similar prevalence patterns both in north and south China,but HPIVs,Flu A,human bocavirus(HBoV),human adenovirus(HAdV) and human coronaviruses(HCoVs) showed the distinct circulating patterns in north and south China.Human enterovirus/human rhinovirus(HEV/HRV)(27.6%,27/98),HBoV(18.4%,18/98),RSV(16.3%,16/98) and HMPV(14.3%,14/98) were the most commonly detected viruses in severe pneumonia cases with single virus infection.In conclusion,viral pathogens are frequently detected in pediatric CAP cases and may therefore play a vital role in the aetiology of CAP.RSV was the most important virus in hospitalized children with CAP in Chinese mainland.Yun Zhu Baoping Xu Changchong Li Zhimin Chen Ling Cao Zhou Fu Yunxiao Shang Aihuan Chen Li Deng Yixiao Bao Yun Sun Limin Ning Shuilian Yu Fang Gu Chunyan Liu Ju Yin Adong Shen Zhengde Xie Kunling Shen 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,6:7

11Self-organized phase-transition lithography for all-inorganic photonic textures显示文摘Realizing general processing applicable to various materials by one basic tool has long been considered a distant dream.Fortunately,ultrafast laser-matter interaction has emerged as a highly universal platform with unprecedented optical phenomena and provided implementation paths for advanced manufacturing with novel functionalities.Here,we report the establishment of a three-dimensional(3D)focal-area interference field actively induced by a single ultrafast laser in transparent dielectrics.Relying on this,we demonstrate a radically new approach of self-organized phase-transition lithography(SOPTL)to achieve super-resolution construction of embedded all-inorganic photonic textures with extremely high efficiency.The generated textures exhibit a tunable photonic bandgap(PBG)in a wide range from〜1.3 to〜2 pm.More complicated interlaced textures with adjustable structural features can be fabricated within a few seconds,which is not attainable with any other conventional techniques.Evidenee suggests that the SOPTL is extendable to more than one material system.This study augments light-matter interaction physics,offers a promising approach for constructing robust photonic devices,and opens up a new research direction in advaneed lithography.Bo Zhang Dezhi Tan Zhuo Wang Xiaofeng Liu Beibei Xu Min Gu Limin Tong Jianrong Qiu 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,6:3
12Quantifying soil erosion with GIS-based RUSLE under different forest management options in Jianchang Forest Farm显示文摘Quantitatively estimating soil erosion with an integration of geographic information system (GIS) and the revised universal soil loss equation (RUSLE) under four different exposed soil proportion scenarios caused by forest management practices was studied at Jianchang Forest Farm. The GIS provided means of input data generation required by RUSLE model and allowed a spatial assessment of the erosion hazard over the study area. Four exposed soil proportion scenarios of 5%, 10%, 20% and 30% were tested with the GIS-based RUSLE model to evaluate soil erosion hazard. 16Temperature dependence of niobium superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors in He-3 cryocooler显示文摘Performances of superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors(SNSPDs) based on low TCmaterials strongly depend on the operating temperatures. We have fabricated infrared-sensitive niobium SNSPDs based on doped niobium(Nb*) films and measured them in He-3cryocooler. The critical current approaches to the de-pairing current at 0.3 K. Therefore, with the decrease in temperatures, we have observed a monotonous increase of count rate at the wavelength of 1,521 nm and exponential decrease of dark count rate at all bias currents. 18Modeling diurnal variation of ground thermal radiance images using energy balance model and endmember composing technique显示文摘Modeling and analyzing dynamic changes of land thermal radiance scenes play an important role in thermal remote sensing.In this paper,the diurnal variation of ground surface thermal scene is mainly discussed.Firstly,based on the land surface energy balance equation,the diurnal variation of land surface temperatures(LSTs) over bare land covers were simulated by an analytical thermal model with second harmonic terms,and the diurnal LST variation of vegetation canopy was simulated using the Cupid model.Secondly,normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI),normalized difference water index(NDWI),and ratio resident-area index(RRI) were used to evaluate the endmember abundance of four land cover types including vegetation,bare soil,impervious and water area,which were calculated from IKONOS visible and near infrared(VNIR) bands.Finally,the thermal radiance scenes at various times and view angles were modeled based on the linear-energy-mixing hypothesis.The results showed that the simulated daily LST variations for vegetated and bare surfaces are correlated with the measured values with a maximum standard deviation of 2.7°C,that land thermal radiant textures with high-resolution are restored from the linear-energy-mixing method,and that the information abundance of the scene are related to the distribution of land cover,the imaging time,and the view angle.ZHAO LiMin GU XingFa YU Tao WAN Wei XIONG Pan XIE YanHua ZHANG Lun 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,11:2
19Operational-space wrench and acceleration capability analysis for multi-link cable-driven robots显示文摘Multi-link cable-driven robots(MCDRs)have potential advantages in confined spaces exploration because of their redundancy and flexibility.Operational space wrench and acceleration capability analysis of MCDRs is important for their design,manipulability optimization,and motion planning.However,existing works mainly focus on capability analysis in the joint space.In this paper,we present a zonotope-based iterative method and a simplified capability zonotope to analyze the operational-space wrench and acceleration capability of MCDRs.In the iterative method,the capability generated by some cables can be iteratively added to the initial capability zonotope based on the Minkowski sum.In the simplified zonotope capability representation,a threshold is put forward to reduce redundant vertices and faces with little volume loss.Finally,simulations on a 24 DOFs MCDR are performed to verify the effectiveness of the developed method.The results demonstrate that our iterative algorithm can easily generate the capability zonotope with a few MB ROM,while traditional operational wrench capability evaluation without our iterative algorithm needs 18432 GB ROM.Furthermore,our simplified representation reduces the vertices and faces from 1260 and 2516 to 88 and 172,respectively,but with only 3.3%volume loss,which decreases the constraints of the robot and is conducive to manipulability optimization and motion planning.SHENG XinJun TANG Lei HUANG XinJia ZHU LiMin ZHU XiangYang GU GuoYing 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,10:1
20EDOA: an efficient delay optimization approach for mixed-polarity Reed-Muller logic circuits under the unit delay model显示文摘Delay optimization has recently attracted signif-icant attention. However, few studies have focused on the delay optimization of mixed-polarity Reed-Muller (MPRM) logic circuits. In this paper, we propose an efficient delay op-timization approach (EDOA) for MPRM logic circuits under the unit delay model, which can derive an optimal MPRM logic circuit with minimum delay. First, the simplest MPRM expression with the fewest number of product terms is ob-tained using a novel Reed-Muller expression simplification approach (RMESA) considering don't-care terms. Second, a minimum delay decomposition approach based on a Huffman tree construction algorithm is utilized on the simplest MPRM expression. Experimental results on MCNC benchmark cir-cuits demonstrate that compared to the Berkeley SIS 1.2 and ABC, the EDOA can significantly reduce delay for most cir-cuits.
