| 1 | One-step synthesis of fluorescent hydroxyls-coated carbon dots with hydrothermal reaction and its application to optical sensing of metal ions显示文摘Carbon dots (CDs) with average diameter of 3.1 ± 0.5 nm were facilely synthesized with candle soot through hydrothermal reaction in sodium hydroxide aqueous solution. The as-prepared CDs were covered with a lot of hydroxyls, possessed properties of good water-solubility, anti-photobleaching, salt tolerance, and low cytotoxicity, and had a fluorescence quantum yield (QY) of about 5.5%. The fluorescence of the hydroxyls-coated CDs could be selectively quenched by metal ions such as Cr3+, Al3+ and Fe3+, which is because these metals can easily combine with the hydroxyl groups on the surface of CDs and induce aggregation of hydroxyls-coated CDs. | 2 | Mouse macrophage specific knockout of SIRT1 influences macrophage polarization and promotes angiotensin Ⅱ-induced abdominal aortic aneurysm formation显示文摘Abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA) is a vascular degenerative disease. Macrophage polarization and the balance between classically activated macrophages(M1) and alternatively activated macrophages(M2)are crucial for AAA pathogenesis. The present study aims to investigate the roles of macrophage SIRT1 in AAA formation and macrophage polarization. We found that in mouse peritoneal macrophages, SIRT1 expression was decreased after M1 stimulation, but was enhanced after M2 stimulation. Results from SIRT1^(flox/flox) mice and macrophage specific SIRT1 knockout mice with treatment of angiotensin II(Ang II)for 4 weeks showed that macrophage specific deficiency of SIRT1 increased the incidence of AAA and exacerbated the severity, including more severe aneurysm types, enlarged diameter of the aneurysm and increased degradation of elastin. In mouse aortas, SIRT1 deficiency increased the proinflammatory M1 molecule inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS), and decreased M2 molecules such as arginase 1(Arg1) and mannose receptor(MR). Furthermore, in peritoneal macrophages, SIRT1 deficiency increased the expression of M1 inflammatory molecules, but decreased the expression of M2 molecules. Overexpression of SIRT1 had the opposite effects. | 3 | Deposition and erosion in the fluctuating backwater reach of the Three Gorges Project after upstream reservoir adjustment显示文摘The construction of hydropower projects,such as Xiluodu and Xiangjiaba Reservoirs,in the upper Yangtze River will lead to variations of the incoming water and sediment conditions and in turn changes in the deposition and erosion processes in the fluctuating backwater reach of the Three Gorges Project(TGP).In this paper,based on the water and sediment characteristics,a 2D mathematical model in the boundary-fitting orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system has been employed to predict the space-time changes of sedimentation in the Chongqing reach,part of the fluctuating backwater reach of TGP,in a period of 100 years with repetition of the 1961-1970 hydrological series with and without the construction of upstream reservoirs.The results show that in the case of natural hydrological series(NHS) without upstream reservoirs,severe deposition occurs in bays with concave bank lines,recirculation flow areas and wide-shallow reaches.In the case with the adjustment of upstream reservoirs,only a little deposition exists in bays with concave bank lines,and the amounts of deposition in the Yangtze River and Jialing River reaches are about 10-20% of those in the case of NHS.Therefore,this is helpful to maintain the effective capacity of the TGP Reservoir and utilize the bank lines of the Chongqing reach. | Yongjun LU Liqin ZUO Rongyao JI Huaixiang LIU | 2010 | International Journal of Sediment Research2010,25,1: | 13 |

| 5 | Dissolved barium as a tracer of Kuroshio incursion in the Kuroshio region east of Taiwan Island and the adjacent East China Sea显示文摘From May to June 2014, the geochemical characteristics of dissolved barium(Ba) in sea water and its influx from the Kuroshio into the East China Sea(ECS) were studied by investigation of the Kuroshio mainstream east of Taiwan Island and the adjacent ECS. This allowed for the scope and extent of the Kuroshio incursion to be quantitatively described for the first time by using Ba as a tracer. The concentration of Ba in the Kuroshio mainstream increased gradually downward from the surface in the range 4.91–19.2 μg L.1. In the surface layer of the ECS, the Ba concentration was highest in coastal water and gradually decreased seaward, while it was higher in coastal and offshore water but lowest in middle shelf for bottom layer. The influx of Ba from Kuroshio into the ECS during May to October was calculated to be 2.19×108 kg by a water exchange model, in which the subsurface layer had the largest portion. The distribution of Ba indicated that Kuroshio upwelled in the sea area northeast of Taiwan Island. The north-flowing water in the Taiwan Strait restrained the incursion of Kuroshio surface water onto the ECS shelf, while Kuroshio subsurface water gradually affected the bottom of the ECS from outside. The results of end member calculation, using Ba as a parameter, showed that the Kuroshio surface water had little impact on the ECS, while the Kuroshio subsurface water formed an intrusion current by climbing northwest along the bottom of the middle shelf from the sea area northeast of Taiwan Island into the Qiantang Estuary, of which the volume of Kuroshio water was nearly 65%. Kuroshio water was the predominant part of the water on the outer shelf bottom and its proportion in areas deeper than the 100 m isobath could reach more than 95%. In the DH9 section(north of Taiwan Island), Kuroshio subsurface water intruded westward along the bottom from the shelf edge and then rose upward(in lower proportion). Kuroshio water accounted for 95% of the ocean volume could reach as far as 122°E. | 8 | Correlating Fe source with Fe-N-C active site construction: Guidancefor rational design of high-performance ORR catalyst显示文摘Pyrolyzed Fe-N_X/C materials derived from Fe-doped ZIF-8 are recently emerged as promising alternatives to noble metal platinum-based catalysts towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and elucidating the dependacne of Fe source on the active site structure and final ORR performance is highly desirbale for further development of these materials. Here, we designed and synthesized a series of Fe-N-C catalysts using ZIF-8 and various iron salts(Fe(acac)_3, FeCl_3, Fe(NO_3)_3) as precusors. We found that the iron precursors,mainly the molecular size, hydrolysis extent, do play a major role in determining the final morphology of Fe, namely forming the Fe-Nx coordination or Fe_3C nanoparticles, as well as the site density, therefore,significantly affecting the ORR activity. | 10 | The Nonlinear Bifurcation and Chaos of Coupled Heave and Pitch Motions of a Truss Spar Platform显示文摘This paper presents the results from a numerical study on the nonlinear dynamic behaviors including bifurcation and chaos of a truss spar platform. In view of the mutual influences between the heave and the pitch modes, the coupled heave and pitch motion equations of the spar platform hull were established in the regular waves. In order to analyze the nonlinear motions of the platform, three-dimensional maximum Lyapunov exponent graphs and the bifurcation graphs were constructed, the Poincaré maps and the power spectrums of the platform response were calculated. It was found that the platform motions are sensitive to wave frequency. With changing wave frequency, the platform undergoes complicated nonlinear motions, including 1/2 sub-harmonic motion, quasi-periodic motion and chaotic motion. When the wave frequency approaches the natural frequency of the heave mode of the platform, the platform moves with quasi-periodic motion and chaotic motional ternately. For a certain range of wave frequencies, the platform moves with totally chaotic motion. The range of wave frequencies which leads to chaotic motion of the platform increases with increasing wave height. | 11 | Distribution of a kinesin-related protein on Golgi apparatus of tobacco pollen tubes显示文摘Previous study has shown that the internal mo-tor kinesin AtKinesin-13A is associated with Golgi stacks in various Arabidopsis cells. With degenerate primers, a seg-ment of 2067 bp was cloned from tobacco by RT-PCR. The polypeptide coded by the segment has 77.33% similarities with the corresponding part of AtKinesin-13A from Arabi-dopsis; and antibody of AtKinesin-13A recognized specifi-cally the expressed products of the segment in bacteria. Us-ing the anti-AtKinesin-13A antibodies, a 120 kD polypeptide was detected from protein extracts of various organs from Nicotiana tabacum, indicating that a homologue of AtKine-sin-13A protein, NtKinesin-13A, is expressed in Nicotiana tabacum. Immunofluorescence staining showed that the to-bacco NtKinesin-13A protein appeared in particles in pollen tubes by confocal microscopy. Immunofluorescence double labeling showed that the NtKinesin-13A protein particles partially co-distributed with 58K protein, indicating that NtKinesin-13A is located on Golgi apparatus. Immuno-gold labeling and electron microscopy observation revealed that the NtKinesin-13A was associated with Golgi-associated vesi-cles membranes in tobacco pollen tubes. | 12 | Fuzzy Sliding Mode Active Disturbance Rejection Control of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle-Manipulator System显示文摘In this paper, a fuzzy sliding mode active disturbance rejection control(FSMADRC) scheme is proposed for an autonomous underwater vehicle-manipulator system(AUVMS) with a two-link and three-joint manipulator. First, the AUVMS is separated into nine subsystems, and the combined effects of dynamic uncertainties, hydrodynamic force, unknown disturbances, and nonlinear coupling terms on each subsystem are lumped into a single total disturbance. Next, a linear extended state observer(LESO) is presented to estimate the total disturbance. Then, a sliding mode active disturbance rejection control(SMADRC) scheme is proposed to enhance the robustness of the control system. The stability of the SMADRC and the estimation errors of the LESO are analyzed. Because it is difficult to simultaneously adjust several parameters for a LESO-based SMADRC scheme, a fuzzy logic control(FLC) scheme is used to formulate the FSMADRC to determine the appropriate parameters adaptively for practical applications. Finally, two AUVMS tasks are illustrated to test the trajectory tracking performance of the closed-loop system and its ability to reject and attenuate the total disturbance. | 14 | A regional ionospheric TEC mapping technique over China and adjacent areas: GNSS data processing and DINEOF analysis显示文摘A technique is developed to derive two-dimensional maps of total electron content(TEC) over China and adjacent areas using Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) data from the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China(CMONOC) and the International Global Navigation Satellite System Service(IGS). A revised self-calibration of pseudo-range errors(SCORE) algorithm is used to derive the TEC and to determine the Differential Code Biases(DCBs) simultaneously. The accuracy and validity of this technique is verified in two ways. Firstly, the estimated TEC is compared with the results derived using DCBs from Center for Orbit Determination of Europe(CODE) under different solar activity conditions and seasons; secondly, sample TEC along the receiver-to-satellite ray paths are simulated by Ne Quick model and are reprocessed by this TEC derivation technique to make the accuracy test. Two-dimensional maps of vertical TEC of ionospheric pierce points(IPPs) are obtained accordingly with a time resolution of 30 s. The data interpolating empirical orthogonal functions(DINEOF) technique is then used to make the extrapolation for the unknown or missing data points. The optimal EOF modes for data reconstruction are specified via cross-validation method. | 15 | Comparative mitochondrial genome analysis of Varunidae and its phylogenetic implications显示文摘Complete mitochondrial genomes(mitogenomes)can indicate phylogenetic relationships,as well as useful information for gene rearrangement mechanisms and molecular evolution.Currently,the phylogenetic location of the genus Varuna(Brachyura:Varunidae)has not been well resolved mainly because of limited representatives(only two extant species).Here,we determined a new mitogenome of this genus(Varuna litterata)and added the published mitogenomes to reconstruct the phylogeny of Varunidae.The 16368-bp mitogenome contains the entire set of 37 genes and a putative control region.The characteristics of this newly sequenced mitogenome were described and compared with the other 15 Varunidae mitogenomes.All 16 analyzed mitogenomes have identical gene order and similar molecular features.The sliding window and genetic distance analyses demonstrate highly variable nucleotide diversity,with comparatively low variability of COI and COII,and high variability of ND6.The nonsynonymous/synonymous substitution rates(dN/dS ratio)analysis shows that all 13 PCGs are under purifying selection and ATP8 gene evolves under the least selective pressure.Twelve tRNA genes,two rRNAs,one PCG,and the putative control region are found to be rearranged with respect to the pancrustacean ground pattern gene order.Tandem duplication/random loss model is adopted to explain the large-scale gene rearrangement events occurring in Varunidae mitogenomes.Phylogenetic analyses show that all Varunidae species are placed into one group,and form a sister clade with Macrophthalmidae.Nevertheless,the phylogenetic relationships within Varunidae are not completely consistent based on the two different datasets used in this study.These findings will contribute to a better understanding of gene rearrangement and molecular evolution in Varunidae mitogenomes,as well as provide insights into the phylogenetic studies of Brachyura. | Ying Zhang Li Gong Xinting Lu Zengliang Miao Lihua Jiang Bingjian Liu Liqin Liu Pengfei Li Xu Zhang Zhenming Lü | 2022 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,6: | 2 |

| 17 | Hydrogen etching induced hierarchical meso/micro-pore structure with increased active density to boost ORR performance of Fe-N-C catalyst显示文摘Rational regulation on pore structure and active site density plays critical roles in enhancing the performance of Fe-N-C catalysts. As the microporous structure of the carbon substrate is generally regarded as the active site hosts, its hostility to electron/mass transfer could lead to the incomplete fulfillment of the catalytic activity. Besides, the formation of inactive metallic Fe particles during the conventional catalyst synthesis could also decrease the active site density and complicate the identification of real active site. Herein, we developed a facial hydrogen etching methodology to yield single site Fe-N-C catalysts featured with micro/mesoporous hierarchical structure. The hydrogen concentration in pyrolysis process was designated to effectively regulate the pore structure and active site density of the resulted catalysts.The optimized sample achieves excellent ORR catalytic performance with an ultralow H2O2 yield(1%)and superb stability over 10,000 cycles. | 18 | Heave-Roll-Pitch Coupled Nonlinear Internal Resonance Response of a Spar Platform Considering Wave and Vortex Exciting Loads显示文摘Many studies have been done on the heave-pitch unstable coupling response for a spar platform by a 2-DOF model.In fact,in addition to the heave and pitch which are in one plane,the nonlinear unstable motion will also occur in roll.From the results of the experiments,the unstable roll motion plays a dominant role in the motion of a spar platform which is much stronger than that of pitch.The objective of this paper is to study 3-DOF coupling response performance of spar platform under wave and vortex-induced force.The nonlinear coupled equations in heave,roll and pitch are established by considering time-varying wet surface and coupling.The first order steady-state response is solved by multi-scales method when the incident wave frequency approaches the heave natural frequency.Numerical integration of the motion equations has been performed to verify the first-order perturbation solution.The results are confirmed by model test.There is a saturation phenomenon associated with heave mode in 3-DOF systems and all extra energy is transferred to roll and pitch.It is observed that sub-harmonic response occurs in roll and pitch when the wave force exceeds a certain value.The energy distribution in roll and pitch is determined by the initial value and damping characteristics of roll and pitch.The energy transfers from heave to pitch and then transfers from pitch to roll.Due to the influence of the low-frequency vortex-excited force,the response of roll is more complicated than that of pitch. | LI Wei TANG Yougang LIU Liqin LIU Shuxiao CAI Runbo | 2017 | Journal of Ocean University of China2017,16,2: | 2 |
| 19 | Two Ultraviolet Radiation Datasets that Cover China显示文摘Ultraviolet(UV) radiation has significant effects on ecosystems, environments, and human health, as well as atmospheric processes and climate change. Two ultraviolet radiation datasets are described in this paper. One contains hourly observations of UV radiation measured at 40 Chinese Ecosystem Research Network stations from 2005 to 2015. CUV3 broadband radiometers were used to observe the UV radiation, with an accuracy of 5%, which meets the World Meteorology Organization's measurement standards. The extremum method was used to control the quality of the measured datasets. The other dataset contains daily cumulative UV radiation estimates that were calculated using an all-sky estimation model combined with a hybrid model. The reconstructed daily UV radiation data span from 1961 to 2014. The mean absolute bias error and root-mean-square error are smaller than 30% at most stations, and most of the mean bias error values are negative, which indicates underestimation of the UV radiation intensity. These datasets can improve our basic knowledge of the spatial and temporal variations in UV radiation. | 20 | Temperature-sensitive polymeric nanogels encapsulating withβ-cyclodextrin and ICG complex for high-resolution deep-tissue ultrasound-switchable fluorescence imaging显示文摘One of the thorny problems currently impeding the applications of the fluorescence imaging technique is the poor spatial resolution in deep tissue.Ultrasound-switchable fluorescence(USF)imaging is a novel imaging tool that has recently been explored to possibly surmount the above-mentioned bottleneck.Herein,αβ-cyclodextrin/indocyanine green(ICG)complex-encapsulated poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM)nanogel was synthesized and studied for ex vivo/in vivo deep tissue/high-resolution near infrared USF(NIR-USF)imaging.To be specific,our results revealed that the average diameter of the as-prepared nanogels was significantly decreased to-32 nm from-335 nm compared to the reported ICG-PNIPAM nanoparticles.Additionally,the excitation/emission characteristics of the ICG itself in present nanogels were almost completely retained,and the resultant nanogel exhibited high physiological stability and positive biocompatibility.In particular,the signal-to-noise ratio of the USF image for the PNIPAM/P-cyclodextrin/ICG nanogel(33.01±2.42 dB)was prominently higher than that of the ICG-PNIPAM nanoparticles(18.73±0.33 dB)in 1.5-cm-thick chicken breast tissues.The NIR-USF imaging in 3.5-cm-thick chicken breast tissues was achieved using this new probe.The e x v iv o NIR-USF imaging of the mouse liver was also successfully obtained.Animal experiments showed that the present nanogels were able to be effectively accumulated into U87 tumor-bearing mice via enhanced permeability and retention effects,and the high-resolution NIR-USF imaging of in v ivo tumor was efficiently acquired.The metabolism and in vivo biodistribution of the nanogels were evaluated.Overall,the results suggest that the current nanogel is a highly promising NIR-USF probe for deep tissue and high-resolution USF imaging. | Ruilin Liu Tingfeng Yao Yang Liu Shuai Yu Liqin Ren Yi Hong Kytai T.Nguyen Baohong Yuan | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,4: | 1 |
