1Protein trans-splicing based dual-vector delivery of the coagulation factor Ⅷ gene显示文摘A dual-vector system was explored for the delivery of the coagulation factor VIII gene,using intein-mediated protein trans-splicing as a means to produce intact functional factor VIII post-translationally.A pair of eukaryotic expression vectors,expressing Ssp DnaB intein-fused heavy and light chain genes of B-domain deleted factor VIII (BDD-FVIII),was constructed.With transient co-transfection of the two vectors into 293 and COS-7 cells,the culture supernatants contained (137±23) and (109±22) ng mL–1 spliced BDD-FVIII antigen with an activity of (1.05±0.16) and (0.79±0.23) IU mL–1 for 293 and COS-7 cells,respectively.The spliced BDD-FVIII was also detected in supernatants from a mixture of cells transfected with inteinfused heavy and light chain genes.The spliced BDD-FVIII protein bands from cell lysates were visualized by Western blotting.The data demonstrated that intein could be used to transfer the split factor VIII gene and provided valuable information on factor VIII gene delivery by dual-adeno-associated virus in hemophilia A gene therapy.ZHU FuXiang,LIU ZeLong,CHI XiaoYan & QU HuiGe Life Science College of Ludong University,Yantai 264025,China 2010Science China(Life Sciences)2010,53,6:27
2Variations in carbon isotope ratios of C_3 plants and distribution of C_4 plants along an altitudinal transect on the eastern slope of Mount Gongga显示文摘Variations in carbon isotopic ratios (δ 13C) of C3 plants and distribution of C4 plants were investigated along an altitudinal transect on the eastern slope of Mount Gongga, and the environmental effects on them were discussed. It is shown that plants with C4 photosynthetic pathway mainly occur at altitudes below 2100 m a.s.l., suggesting that the low summer temperature is responsible for the distributional pattern. In addition, δ 13C of C3 plants increases with elevation at the region above 2000 m a.s.l. with the characteristics of humid climate, and the increase rate in δ 13C for C3 plants is about 1.3‰ per kilometer. 4High-performance rigid and flexible ultraviolet photo- detectors with single-crystalline ZnGa2O4 nanowires显示文摘ZnGa2O4 nanowires (NWs) as a ternary oxide semiconductor were successfully synthesized by a simple vapor transport method for application as high- performance ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors. A single-nanowire UV photodetector fabricated on a rigid silicon substrate exhibited excellent spectral responsivity (3,174 A/W) and high external quantum efficiency (1.1 - 106%) at 350 nm UV light illumination. A flexible single-nanowire photodetector on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate was also fabricated and showed similar properties. The as-fabricated flexible photodetector exhibited stable electrical properties and mechanical flexibility under different bending curvatures over many cycles, indicating its potential application in future flexible photoelectronic devices.Zheng Lou Ludong Li Guozhen Shen 2015Nano Research2015,8,7:6
5The synthesis of astaxanthin esters,independent of the formation of cysts,highly correlates with the synthesis of fatty acids in Haematococcus pluvialis显示文摘The compositions and contents of astaxanthin esters and fatty acids in four types of Haematococcus pluvialis cells were studied by HPLC and GC-MS. Results showed that the synthesis and accumulation of astaxanthin was independent of the formation of cysts, but was highly correlated with the synthesis and accumulation of fatty acids, though it is an well known phenomenon that the accumulation of astaxanthin is usually accompanied by the formation of cyst. The red cysts contain more than 30% of fatty acids, with 81% of the unsaturated fatty acids. 7Delay-induced coherence bi-resonance-like behavior in stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley neuron networks显示文摘In this paper,we study how information transmission delays affect the spiking behavior of electrically coupled stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) neurons on Newman-Watts networks.It is found that the spiking behavior becomes the most regular at an optimal time delay,indicating the occurrence of delay-induced coherence resonance-like (CR-like) behavior.Interestingly,there are different CR-like types,depending on the membrane patch size of the neuron.For a smaller patch size,only single CR-like behavior occurs;while for a larger patch size,coherence bi-resonance-like (CBR) behavior appears.These findings show that the delay-induced CR-like behavior is closely related to the channel noise strength,and the coupled neurons may exhibit different spiking behaviors under the interplay of the channel noise and time delay.Therefore,the channel noise should be taken into account in the study of time delay-related spiking activity in stochastic HH neurons.This work provides new insight into the role of channel noise and information transmission delays in realistic neural systems.HAO YingHang,GONG YuBing,LIN Xiu & MA XiaoGuang School of Physics,Ludong University,Yantai 264025,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,8:2

9An Analysis to the Driving Forces for Water and Salt Absorption in Roots of Maize Seedlings Under Salt Stress显示文摘When maize seedlings were subjected to salt stress,a decline in root xylem pressure was observed within seconds,followed by a gradual increase in Na+ deposition in the seedlings.The magnitude of xylem pressure response was positively correlated with,but not proportional to the intensity of the stress.A continuous recording of the xylem pressure profile showed that self-regulation of the xylem pressure existed before and after the imposition of salt stress when the environmental conditions were relatively stable.The salt induced increase in xylem tension dominated the total water potential of the plant when the salt stress was mild,but the osmotic potential became more prominent when the NaCl concentration in the root bathing solution was raised to over 100 mol m-3.The average transpiration rate of the seedlings dropped by 40% when the NaCl concentration in the root ambient was increased to 150 mol m-3.Although salt stress resulted in the decline of both the xylem pressure potential and the osmotic potential in the root xylem,the changes in the total water potential of the root xylem solution were always smaller than the changes in the water (osmotic) potentials of the solution bathing the root.An analysis to the water relations of maize seedlings showed that not only the water potential components,but the radial reflection coefficient of the roots was also dependent on the level of salinity.When the NaCl level in the root bathing solution was raised from 25 to 150 mol m-3,the radial reflection coefficient of the root declined from 0.43 to 0.31.This small change resulted in a remarkable increase in the normalised relative NaCl absorption by 2.4 times,indicating that the radial reflection coefficient of root played a very important role in regulating the absorption of NaCl in maize seedlings under salt stress.ZHU Jian-jun,BAI Xin-fu,BU Qing-mei and JIANG Xiao-man College of Life Sciences,Ludong University,Yantai 264025,P.R.China 2010Agricultural Sciences in China2010,9,6:1
10Multiple enhancements of rate oscillations by non-Gaussian noise in NO reduction with CO on Pt(100)显示文摘The effect of the non-Gaussian colored noise(NGN) on the dynamics of nonlinear systems has attracted increasing attention.This work numerically studied the effect of a particular kind of the NGN,mainly in terms of its departure from Gaussian noise,on the rate oscillations(RO) in the catalytic reduction of NO with CO on Pt(100) surfaces.It was found that power spectrum density changes non-monotonically and the signal-to-noise ratio shows several peaks with increasing departure,demonstrating the presence of'departure-induced multiple resonance'.Since the departure of the NGN determines the probability distribution and hence denotes the type of the noise,the phenomenon of'departure-induced multiple resonance'not only gives multiple enhancements of the RO by virtue of the departure of the NGN,but also implies that,besides Gaussian noise,various other types of noise may enhance the RO in the surface catalytic reaction systems.GONG YuBing,XIE YanHang & HAO YingHang School of Physics and Electronic Engineering,Ludong University,Yantai 264025,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,1:1

12Consensus of multiagent systems based on disturbance observer显示文摘The objectives of this work are the development and design of disturbance observers (DO’s) for a team of agents that accomplish consensus on agents’ states in the presence of exogenous disturbances. A pinning control strategy is designed for a part of agents of the multiagent systems without disturbances, and this pinning control can bring multiple agents’ states to reaching an expected consensus value. Under the effect of the disturbances, nonlinear disturbance observers are developed for disturbances generated by an exogenous system to estimate the disturbances. Asymptotical consensus of the multiagent systems with disturbances under the composite controller can be achieved. 13Cross-linked hole transport layers for high-efficiency perovskite tandem solar cells显示文摘Perovskite tandem solar cells have recently received extensive attention due to their promise of achieving power conversion efficiency(PCE)beyond the limits of single-junction cells.However,their performance is still largely constrained by the widebandgap perovskite solar cells which show considerable open-circuit voltage(VOC)losses.Here,we increase the VOCand PCE of wide-bandgap perovskite solar cells by changing the hole transport layer(HTL)from commonly used poly(bis(4-phenyl)(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)amine)(PTAA)to in-situ cross-linked small molecule N_(4),N_(4)′-di(naphthalen-1-yl)-N_(4),N_(4)′-bis(4-vinylphenyl)biphenyl-4,4′-diamine(VNPB).The stronger interaction and lower trap density at the VNPB/perovskite interface improve the PCE and stability of wide-bandgap perovskite solar cells.By using the cross-linked HTL for front wide-bandgap subcells,PCEs of 24.9%and 25.4%have been achieved in perovskite/perovskite and perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells,respectively.The results demonstrate that cross-linkable small molecules are promising for high-efficiency and cost-effective perovskite tandem photovoltaic devices.Yurui Wang Shuai Gu Guoliang Liu Liping Zhang Zhou Liu Renxing Lin Ke Xiao Xin Luo Jianhua Shi Junling Du Fanying Meng Ludong Li Zhengxin Liu Hairen Tan 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,11:1

15Geobag stepped spillway for check dams: A pilot study显示文摘Check dams are widely used worldwide for the soil and water conservation.Many of them have no spillways,resulting in frequent dam breach failures during heavy rainfall events.This paper proposes a new geobag stepped spillway for small check dams.The structure of the spillway primarily consists of a stepped chute created from geobags filled with local soil compacted and consolidated with a small amount of cement.The developed composite geosynthetic material exhibits water erosion resistance,high strength against puncture,and high tensile strength.To examine the feasibility of the proposed geobag stepped spillway,a prototype pilot test was designed and constructed in a check dam in Shaanxi Province,China,with a height of 10 m and a downstream slope of 1(vertical)to 2(horizontal).More than 30 overflow tests were done for a geobag stepped spillway under uncontrolled and gated weir flow conditions.Based on the measurements of flow velocities and flow depths of four cross sections,it was observed that the energy dissipation ratio ranged between 73.8%and 92.8%for all the examined conditions.In addition,no significant deformation of the geobag stepped spillway was observed,although the maximum flow velocity at the spillway toe was 6.7 m/s.This study confirms that the proposed geobag stepped spillway is a promising approach for providing an effective,safe,and economical flood release structure for small check dams.Shu Yu Fan Yue Qiang Zhang Zuyu Chen Penghai Yin Jianwei Hao Laizhang Zhang Ludong Hao 2023International Journal of Sediment Research2023,38,1:0
16Non-Gaussian noise-enhanced stochastic rate oscillations in CO oxidation on nanometer-sized Pd particles显示文摘The effect of non-Gaussian colored noise(NGN),mainly its departure q from the Gaussian noise,on the optimal ISRO of CO oxidation on nanometer-sized Pd particles was studied.It was found that the ISRO in the absence of external noise can still be enhanced when the NGN is applied.Specifically,the ISRO varies with changing q and becomes more regular at an appropriate q value,and when q is optimal,the ISRO becomes the most regular.Because the departure q from the Gaussian noise determines the probability distribution function and hence may denote the types of noise,this result shows that different types of external noise can enhance the ISRO of CO oxidation,and non-Gaussian noise may enhance the ISRO more greatly than the Gaussian noise.Therefore,non-Gaussian noise could play more effective roles in the catalytic process of CO oxidation on nanometer-sized Pd particles.GONG YuBing*,LIN Xiu & HAO YingHang School of Physics,Ludong University,Yantai 264025,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,11:0
17Salvage treatments for prostate-specific antigen relapse of cT3N0M0 prostatic adenocarcinoma after radical prostatectomy combined with neoadjuvant androgen deprivation显示文摘Objective The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficiency of salvage treatments for prostate specific antigen(PSA)relapse of cT3N0M0 prostatic adenocarcinoma(PCa)after radical prostatectomy(RP)combined with neoadjuvant androgen deprivation(ADT).Methods A total of 332 patients with cT3N0M0 PCa were enrolled in the prospective study and received RP and pelvic lymph node dissection with neoadjuvant ADT for 3 months.All patients with PSA relapse were treated with salvage external beam radiation therapy(RT)and ADT for 6 months.Results The 5-year postoperative PSA relapse rate was 40.96%(136/332).The patients have been divided into the PSA relapse and PSA relapse-free groups in order to compare patient characteristics.The ratio of patients with Gleason score≥8 and positive surgical margin in the PSA relapse group were significantly higher than those of in the PSA relapse-free group(P=0.01).The mean duration between the start of operative treatment and PSA relapse was 31 months.Salvage treatment to all 136 PSA relapse patients led to favorable outcomes.PSA relapse was not observed after salvage treatment by the end of follow-up.The 5-year overall survival rates of the PSA relapse and PSA relapse-free groups were 94.9%and 93.9%,respectively.Conclusion In pursuit of curative treatment,our study showed that RP combined with neoadjuvant ADT is an aggressive multimodality strategy associated with lower PSA relapse and better survival outcomes for stage cT3N0M0 PCa patients.Patients with PSA relapse after RP may benefit from early aggressive salvage RT combined with short-term ADT.Lufang Zhang Dongliang Pan Ludong Liu Yunjiang Zang Ningchen Li 2020Oncology and Translational Medicine2020,6,6:0
